About the Author

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Why did you write this book?

I wrote my novella Rescue Me as part of the Into the Flames boxed set. Firefighters are dust and ash-covered heroes who defy the odds and press on in the presence of danger.Firefighter Frank Ellis is a man with a huge secret, and he’s spent his whole adult life trying to atone for past mistakes. Like any man, Frank has secret fantasies. He doesn’t want money or power or lots of women. His fantasy is much simpler, but one he’d thinks he’ll never have—a regular life with one particular woman. He’s given up hope of that ever happening when she comes back into his life, bringing with her hope and new life to his fantasies.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Romance, of course. I love all genres of romance, but my favorites are probably paranormal, contemporary and romantic suspense. I do love a good historical too.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

This is such a tough question. I have so many fictional characters I love. One of my favorites has to be Eve Dallas, from J.D. Robb’s In Death series. She is one kickass heroine, but she does have a softer side, no matter how much she tries to hide it.

What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?

I’m currently working on a new book for my Salvation Pack werewolf series. I’d originally planned on it being a five-book series, but I’m currently working on book nine. I have four Salvation Pack books due out in the next year. It’s exciting.
