As I looked at this list of names, I wondered if people would think I was only giving out this award to friends. That’s true, partially. Each has become a friend over the last year or has been for a long time. Hosting this site gives me a unique opportunity to get to know many authors. But the statistics speak for themselves. When I pulled year long stats from the backside of the blog, these were the names that floated to the top.Brenda Sparks made the list as top blogger due to having the most page views throughout the entire year. She also promoted the blog itself. I was tickled when I looked at the stats and saw her name right at the top, because in my mind, she certainly deserved the appause. May 2017 marked the first month on the new WordPress site. Because the feed into Triberr stayed the same, the number of viewers did not decrease. In fact, I linked to a few more tribes that feature the romance genre, which gave RLF an expanded reach and views were up all around. Sincere thanks to Dee Owens at Personalized Marketing Inc for her hard work at making this blog look awesome and work so perfectly.Three of the top four posts were blog related, including our special RLFblog Day One post titled Discover Authors and Books with RLFblog, RLFblog Moving Day, and the monthly RLF Gems. I did not count them among the top bloggers because all those awards would go to me. I’d like to see the credit go to guests. You are why I do this!

Welcome Yoshiyuki Ly author of Venus and Lysander, a new Historical Romance.Why did you write this book?
LGBT historical romances typically focus on forbidden relationships. I decided to add fantasy elements and a made-up setting to mostly distance myself from that reality. It’s a fresh take on that type of era along with some social commentary so as to not make it completely unrealistic.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Philosophy.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Noah from Consider What Becomes of the Ashes by Pixelnyx. He goes through many hardships as a refugee in a foreign city. I admire his muted tenacity as he pushes on.
What are you working on at the moment?
A distant follow-up to Venus and Lysander that wraps up the plot I’ve built up in this world. It’s a romance with fantasy elements, but set in a more contemporary time period.

Once they discover their nemesis’ true motive, Val and Lucrezia’s tyrannous devotion for one another is all they can count on to survive.
