Why did you write this book?Some readers wanted to see one of the characters from previous books in the Bull Rider Series get his own happy ending. After careful consideration, I chose to write this third book. While not only giving the hero and heroine of this series another book, I figured out a way to write his story right alongside theirs.What is your favorite genre to read?Honestly, I have to say that I love reading what I write—cowboys and western romance—97% of the time I read contemporary. This doesn’t mean I never read other genres because I do, depending on what the story is about, or if it is a favorite author outside of the western genre.Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?This is difficult because I love so many fictional book characters. I hope it’s okay to go with a TV character instead—the one and only Duncan MacLeod from the Highlander series! One reason I call him my favorite character from fiction is for his tenacity and courage, not to mention he’s doggone sexy.What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?I’m publishing another western romance in October 2016, which is Book #1 in a brand new spin-off series. A second book in this new series will be published sometime in 2017. Plus, I’m currently writing Book #4 in the Double Dutch Ranch Series.Please tell us about your latest book.Four years later, Velia and Caulder finish up another year of bull riding. They settle into their comfy abode on the McCutchen Ranch in the snowy Allegheny Mountains to celebrate the Christmas season with a houseful of guests. La vita e bella! I’ve had a pretty rough couple of years. My sister, well she had a bad time and then she and her twins came to live with me. I was offered an opportunity to go to America for this experience I’ve been seeking and my sister really encouraged me to go. I guess she was ready to stand on her own two feet. Quite honestly, though, it’s hard being away from your loved ones. I really miss the children, after all, I am their second mum.I’m a very capable woman, I know how to slice and dice, and we’re not talking vegetables here. I’m nifty with a scalpel, and the things my brother taught me in self-defense, I can only advise you to watch out. I wield a mean kitten heel too.How do you dress?When I’m not in scrubs, which is most of the time, I love flirty, knee length skirts that I can whoosh around. Why did you write this book?William Cassidy wasn’t supposed to be hero material. He was a gunslinger, wanted by every lawman in the West. When I first envisioned my heroine, a pistol-packing Pinkerton with fiery hair and an even hotter temper, I planned to make “Coyote Cass” the villain of her story. But Cass wasn’t happy with my plot to bury him at Boot Hill.“Aw, c’mon, Wolfie,” he kept whispering in my ear, “I’m not so bad. I’m funny! How many villains do you know, who ride get-away horses named Jelli and Pancake? And what about that time I poured moonshine into my sweetheart’s pie, so she could win the county bake-off? I love witty, rapid-fire dialogue that makes me laugh. The first 2 characters who come to mind are Raistlin Majere (evil mage) and Tasselhoff Burrfoot (happy-go-lucky Kender / Halfling) from the Dragonlance Series. I read those books many, many years ago, and yet today, when I picture those two characters “sparring” with words, I have to smile. When I write, I want to create characters that are just as memorable to my readers.What are you working on at the moment, and what will we see from you in coming months?I just completed Dance to the Devil’s Tune, the sequel to Devil in Texas. Now I’m trying to decide where to set Devil Plays with Fire (Book 3 in Lady Law & The Gunslinger.) I was thinking of throwing a dart at a map – because that worked so well for Book 1. Devil in Texas is set primarily in Lampasas. It’s a small town about 90 miles north of Austin (where I live.)
