    Happy Birthday #14 Marketing for Romance Writers #MFRWauthor @MFRW_ORG #RLFblog #Authors

Happy Birthday #14 Marketing for Romance Writers #MFRWauthor @MFRW_ORG #RLFblog #AuthorsKayelle Allen here. Marketing for Romance Writers started in 2006 and is still going strong. All services and membership are free.

It began because, like all my friends, I was promoting, learning more about promoting, and asking friends about promoting. All the ins and outs of book marketing were starting to gel and I was beginning to understand the overall concept. Even so, I had a constant list of questions. Facebook was two years old. Twitter had been founded that year. Pinterest and Instagram were four years away. How was I supposed to promote on social media? Did I need a blog?

    So many questions

My friends all had the same questions, and we would email each other and ask. Often, I’d get the same question several times in a row. I found myself going back to my “sent” file to copy an answer and resend it. I was asking questions myself, plus I took time to go find an answer if someone asked and I didn’t know. Eventually, I got more and more questions.

It was Halloween, and I was busy with all sorts of details of writing, and I got the same question from two different people. I remember thinking that there had to be an easier way to do this. I needed a way to let everyone know what I’d discovered at the same time, and if I had a question, get an answer from someone who knew. Yahoo Groups was established and well-used, so I decided to create one that all of my friends and I could use together. We could post a question there, and anyone who knew the answer could reply.Happy Birthday #14 Marketing for Romance Writers #MFRWauthor @MFRW_ORG #RLFblog #Authors

I set it up as Marketing for Romance Writers because that’s what all of us were at the time. Our current members are not all romance writers, however. They come from all genres. Looking back, I’ve often wished I’d named it Marketing for Every Writer. Of course, then the initials would have been MEW vs MFRW and our symbol might have been a black cat!

In 2006, we had 12 members. Fourteen years later, we’re in the thousands. We now meet on IO Groups and our staff of volunteers produces a monthly magazine. We coordinate multiple blog hops to bring traffic to member websites, including Book Hooks and MFRWsteam.

Happy Birthday Marketing for Romance Writers #MFRWauthor @MFRW_ORG #Authors

Kayelle Allen here. Wow, has Marketing for Romance Writers grown! Back in 2006 when I started this group, I was a busy author with four books. I was promoting, learning more about promoting, and asking friends about promoting. All the ins and outs of book marketing were starting to gel and I was beginning to understand the overall concept. That said, I had a constant list of questions. Facebook was two years old. Twitter had been founded that year. Pinterest and Instagram were four years away. How was I supposed to promote on social media? Did I need a blog?

I had friends who had similar questions, and we would email each other and ask. Often, I’d get the same question several times in a row. I found myself going back to my “sent” file to copy an answer and resend it. Not that I wasn’t asking questions myself, but I think because I’d take the time to go find an answer if someone asked and I didn’t know – I started getting more and more questions.

  • Cancer Awareness

    Waiting and hoping @AuthorTinaGayle #Cancer #Pinktober

Author Tina Gayle is helping Romance Lives Forever Blog
celebrate Cancer Awareness Week 2016. RLF has added pink racing stripes to the left side of the blog’s background to represent a pink ribbon, but this week is about all types of cancer. Join us as we delve into rich stories about life.
Even the threat of cancer can cause stress. The days before
a doctor gets the results of the test can seem like forever. When I was in my
teens, my mother found a lump in her breasts. The only way for them to tell if
it was cancerous was to do a biopsy. Back in those days, a woman had to check
into a hospital to have a biopsy done. The days before the biopsy, I remember believing that those
may be the last days of my time with her. We grew very close during that time
and remained close afterward. When I decided to write CEO’s Widow, I remembered the pain I
suffered and tried to add that to the story. This book does not go into the
technical aspects of the treatment. Instead, it is about the emotional pain the
    cancer causes.

    About the Book

CEO’s Widow – Book 4 of the Executives’ Wives’ Club series
Genre: Contemporary romance with strong women’s fiction
    elements
    Four women…
    One fatal car wreck…
    Everyone’s lives changed…
    CEO’s Widow
After surviving the grief from her husband’s death, Marianne
Clark has built a new life with the help of the other Executive Wives. She
plans to enjoy grandchildren and friends until her doctor tells her he found a
lump in her breast. Her world is turned upside down. She re-evaluates her
priorities and decides she grab hold of life with both hands.
Knox Turner lost his first wife to cancer. He’s determined
not to let Marianne face this challenge alone.
Can this couple face the trails ahead and build a future

    About the Author

    Best-selling author, Tina Gayle
grew up not knowing what she wanted to be as an adult. Then someone asked her
about my dream job, her answer, “I wanted to be a pretender.”
So the job of writing books is the perfect job for her. She has a vivid
imagination and enjoys creating new characters and heartbreaking situations
that her readers can sympathize with as they root for the couple’s love to
    blossom.
Before setting down with her computer, she worked in the corporate world as
both an accountant and a programmer. Once her kids were born, she decided to
give her dream of being a writer a try and loves to incorporate the heartaches,
headaches and fun of being a mother and a woman into my books.
She is now working on finishing her Family Tree series…Summer’s Growth and
Fallen Leaves. (Paranormal Romantic Suspense) The last two Winter Wonders and
Spring Rebirth will come out in the next two years.
She also has been playing around with short stories that tell the problems a
number of Baby Boomers are experiencing.
When not writing, she enjoys spending time with my family and traveling around
the country. She hasn’t hit every state, but she hopes to someday. You might
also catch her on the golf course with her husband of 30 years.
    Tina loves to
hear from her readers. What elements you liked and what you didn’t care for in
the story. You can read the first chapter of any of her books by visiting her

    #Cancer Awareness: It Affects All @AuthorTinaGayle CEO’s Widow #RLFblog

    CEO’s Widow

From Kayelle Allen: This week on Romance Lives Forever I’m sharing stories by
authors who have faced cancer either in themselves, or a family member. The
importance of friends and family, and having a support system is vital. One key
to success is being able to ask for help — and then being willing to accept
it. It’s a lesson I’ve had in my own life during various times. I don’t accept
help well. It’s something I fight with all the time. I’d like to think “I’ve
got this” but sometimes I don’t have as good a grip as I thought I did.
I have a friend who’s dealing with cancer right now. A friend’s brother died
from cancer last year. Cancer affects all of us. I hope I’m even half as good a
friend as those you’ll read about in this series.

I’m presenting these posts as an opportunity for the authors
to share their real life stories, as well as their fictional ones. There’s a
short list of ways you can show your support at the end of each post.

Breast Cancer: How It Affects Us All by Tina Gayle

Even if you have never had the disease,
you probably know someone who has had it or who has lost a loved one to it. My aunt
had it and died back in the early seventies. I remember because my father would
not say anything other than she died of cancer. The sad thing was he didn’t even
learn she was sick until he heard of her death.
Back then if you had cancer of any
kind, people avoided you as if you had some type of plague for fear of catching
    it.
Through the years, I’ve had other
family members who’ve faced breast cancer and have survived. My mother was told
that they found a lump and underwent surgery. Lucky for all of us, it was not cancer.
By sharing my own history, I hope
you can see that no matter whether we personally have the disease or not, it affects
our lives and the people we care for. Each person goes through a lot of emotion
when fighting cancer. That’s why I decided to use the pain of dealing with the disease
in the last book in my Executive Wives’ Club series, CEO’s Widow.
Marianne Clark is the matriarch of
group. She has watched as each woman recovers from the loss of her husband in the
fatal crash that killed all of their husbands. She’s supported them and considers
each of them a member of her family.

    CEO’s Widow a new #romance by @AuthorTinaGayle #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    About the Author

Tina Gayle grew up a dreamer and loved to escape into the
    world of books.
After years of working in the business world doing a variety of jobs, she
decided to try her hand at writing and hope to incorporate the joy of being a
    mother into her books.
Currently working on a series about four executive wives,
she is excited about combining elements of women fiction with the passion of
    romance.
Married twenty-five years, she and her husband love to travel and play
golf.  She can’t wait for Mike to retire
so they can do more of both.
Read the first chapter of any of her books by visiting her
    website.

    Interview with Tina Gayle

    Why did you write
    this book?
This is the last book in the Executive Wives’ Club series. I
started this series to show how important women are to women. Marianne has been
the glue that has keep these women together. She believes that her family and
friends are enough until she is told she might have breast cancer. Then she is
forced to realize that she may not have much of a life left.
Already in love with Knox, she decides she needs to grab
life by the balls and squeak out every ounce of pleasure she can. Now all she
has to do is face the future with strength and determination.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
Romance. I fell in love with romantic stories at a young age
and can’t get enough. Doesn’t matter what subgenre, I need a romance to make a
story worth reading. The main reason, I believe is because I love the emotion
of loving someone. It is never easy.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
I believe it is Romeo and Juliet. It goes to show how far we
will go to be with the one we love.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
Now, that I’ve finished the Executive Wives’ Club series. I
want to get back to my Family Tree series. The next book is Winter Wonders. It
is not an easy story because of the pain the main character is going through.
Learning to realize we can change certain events in our life is a difficult
pill to swallow especially if you are a psychic.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
After surviving the grief from her husband’s death, Marianne
Clark has built a new life with the help of the other Executive Wives. She
plans to enjoy grandchildren and friends until her doctor tells her he found a
lump in her breast. Her world turned upside down. She re-evaluates her
priorities and decides she grab hold of life with both hands.
Knox Turner lost is first wife to cancer. He’s determined
