Welcome to Destiny, or should I say Middle Earth…
I’m Sheriff Jack Lang. After an exciting career as a Navy pilot, Destiny seemed like the perfect place to settle down – safe, sane and secure. But that ship sailed when I met Tempest Pomeroy – sexy redheaded mail lady and trouble magnet. Tempe never fails to test the limits of my patience or the law. Every time I think it’s the last straw, up pops another haystack.
My name is Tempest Pomeroy, and my human job is delivering the mail. I’m also a Paramortal like my family, or I’m supposed to be. If I didn’t have a few little talents, I’d think I was adopted. To say I was having a bad day would be like saying Katrina dropped a little rain on New Orleans. My brother’s genie bottle is missing, my mother’s AWOL, and the sheriff and my ex-lover are squaring off like yard dogs staking a claim over a poodle. I am no one’s poodle. I’ve denied my heritage for most of my life but all this chaos is a sign of my quickening Tempestaerie power.
Oh, and the sheriff? He thinks he’s settled in a normal, quaint small town—like Mayberry?! We’ll see how that turns out… Things better settle down soon, ’cause I’m about to go…Storm Crazy.

    Detour Ahead by Adriana Kraft

Threatened race horses, city slicker attorney, sexy California wrangler—what can possibly go wrong?
Hot-shot Chicago prosecuting attorney Traci Steele works tirelessly keeping rapists off the street to prevent other women from suffering the hell she’s endured, so she resists her friends’ insistence that she take a two month R and R in their California Live Oak condo—until they persuade her to help their rancher friend as a private investigator.
Though he runs the stables at Live Oak, well-muscled mustached wrangler Scott McCord much prefers working with the race horses he trains at his ranch, and he can’t believe his old friends have sent a greenhorn female to help him with horse troubles.
The improbable dance between this mismatched pair barely fits in around the escalating suspense of whoever’s after Scott’s horses. Traci is as tenacious in her sleuthing as she is terrified about her inability to ever love a man. Can Scott succeed in gentling her – like he does his horses – before she flees in panic?
Traci Steele may be the most damaged of the heroines in our four-book horse racing suspense series, Riders Up. If she was a real person, she might stand up and say “Me, too” – except she’s never told anyone, not even her best friend, Cassie.

Summer Rules, a novelette by Coralie Moss

As far as Elaine is concerned, when summer’s tourist season arrives on Salt Spring Island, it’s the off-season for romance. Her mini-empire of gourmet food trucks needs her undivided attention, and from the end of June through Labor Day, her ironclad Summer Rules are in effect. Sex is off the menu.
Richie’s a local tree trimmer, focused on building his business. He’s on hiatus from relationships until he meets the renowned entrepreneur, Elaine Atkins. She needs an experienced lumberjack to take down a tree that threatens to land on her most popular food truck. And when her cook can’t make it into work, Richie can’t say no to Elaine’s plea for a temporary sous chef.
The saucy rapport and spicy heat inside her popular taco truck aren’t all coming from what’s cooking on the stove. Elaine’s a vital woman in her mid-forties, and though Richie is twelve years younger, he deftly handles everything she tosses at him, starting with her resistance. By the end of the lunch rush, he’s ready to ask her for a date. And that’s when Elaine finds out just how hard it is to stick to her Summer Rules.

Middle aged wife and mother Lila is vacationing in Scotland when Saorach chooses her to join his brood. Her transformation to an eternally young sith is painful and compounded by the loss of everything she holds dear. Waking to a new life, she is utterly dependent upon Connor and his family. Meet Lila from The Dragon Wore a Kilt by Holly Bargo @HollyBargoBooks #RLFblog #paranormal romance

Welcome Connor Matasan from The Dragon Wore a Kilt, a new paranormal romance by Holly Bargo.

    Connor Matasan

    Age: 96
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Glencarol, Scotland
    Profession: Farmer
    Ethnicity: Scottish
    Species (for scifi/fantasy characters): sith
    Please provide a physical description.
I suppose I resemble the typical romantic hero, tall and dark-haired. The ladies of Glencarol have liked the looks of the men in my family for centuries and I’m no exception.
Please tell us a little about your character.
I’m the earl of Matasan, but due to my being sith, the title passed to my great-nephew, Liam. As an immortal sith, converted from human by the ancient magic of Saroach who lives in the loch, I live a lonely life and guard the loch and the dragon from discovery. I’ve yet to figure out what the dragon actually does for us, but I’m bound to his will.
Who is the significant other in your character’s life?
Lila is my mate, given to me by Saroach. She’s perfect, amazing, talented, and too damned independent for my comfort. She’s mine.
    How does your hero dress?
I prefer to wear the native dress of my people, a kilt. They’re comfortable, you know. And I look damned good in one.
Does he scrape by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
The earls of Matasan own a large property and live comfortably, but we’re typical of our Scottish kin in that we’re not wasteful or extravagant. My great-nephew Liam is a financial genius; I focus more on the agricultural operations of our estate.
    Is he close to family?
Family is everything, whether that family is related by blood or magic. I will protect them all and they will do the same for me.
Can your hero keep a secret? If not, why not? If yes, why?
My existence itself is an open secret. The village of Glencarol knows something us Matasans, even if they’re not really privy to our secrets.
What is your hero’s biggest personal flaw?
If you asked Lila, she would say my biggest flaw is arrogance. It’s true, I’m arrogant as has been every earl of Matasan. My will is law and no one but Lila ever defied me.
What is your hero’s breaking point?
I was captured by a witch who wanted to take my immortality and power for herself. She treated me much the same as I treated Lila and the realization broke me. I needed her forgiveness to restore me and it made me a better man… and a better mate for my beloved Lila.
What happened to cause Lila to leave you?
I can only say that I… devolved. Something about the dragon’s nature overwhelming my humanity caused me to treat her badly. Although, I can’t really blame the dragon nature, because Saroach was disappointed in me, too.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions.
Why do you think Holly Bargo chose to write about you?
I sought understanding and redemption. And I think the writer wishes men were, perhaps, a little like me, too.
Was there anything your writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you?
My writer held true to her principles. I could not charm her and she portrayed me as I was. That stung.
Why do you think your writer loves to write?
My writer loves men who are truly masculine, not male versions of women, but men who complement women and are strong enough to accept a strong woman.
What do you wish your writer would write next?
I want my writer to tackle Robbie’s story. My philandering sith brother needs a mate of his own, he needs someone to love and who will love him, too.
