Blame it on the Moon by Livia Quinn @liviaquinn #RLFblog #paranormalLove…when you least expect it.

D.C. native, Livia Quinn, lives and writes by the bayou in Louisiana. She’s written eleven books in her Storm Lake series, both paranormal and military romance. While working as a plant manager, computer trainer, mail lady, professional singer, and small business owner she stocked her brain full of great characters and fodder for her stories and is eager to share them with her readers.

    Blame it on the Moon

It’s the height of the Para-moon and Sheriff Jack Lang is up to his ‘6’ in alligators. Defending those weaker than himself is in his DNA which is what drove him to become a Navy pilot. Now, who is he kidding? Alligators he could handle! But supernatural bad guys?

Ragtag doesn’t begin to describe his band of temporary ‘heroes’. If he has to go to war with the group that showed up at dawn, he might as well start cutting up white sheets and attaching them to garden stakes.

With Tempe and the other Paramortals ill or incapacitated and the sudden appearance of beings he’s never heard of, will Jack be able to keep Destiny out of the hands of their enemies for the rest of the power down and—very important—keep the humans in the dark? It’s only twenty-four hours. If worse comes to worse, he has a dragon on his side and a few surprises up his sleeve. “Yippe, ki, yi…”

But a lot can happen in twenty-four hours and things don’t always go as planned.

    Take These Broken Wings

Blame it on the Moon by Livia Quinn @liviaquinn #RLFblog #paranormalStrap in ’cause it’s a wild ride through Destiny, or should I say Middle Earth…

Five months ago, Sheriff Jack Lang would have sworn there was no such thing as vampires, tempestaeries, djinn or dragons. That was before he met Tempest Pomeroy, his sexy redheaded mail lady and trouble magnet. He’d fallen for her before he found out about her “special abilities”. But that wasn’t what turned his life upside down. No, to say Jack’s world had gone FUBAR was like saying Wolverine’s fingernails were long enough for a manicure.

Tempe had been afraid her supernatural nature would be a problem for Jack, who’d mistaken Destiny for a “Mayberry-like” small town, but that didn’t explain why he’d left her in favor of haunting the highest levees in the parish. Sure, he’d received a shock, but what was it going to take to get him to return to his life and to her? A stubborn man is one thing; a grumpy, depressed twenty-ton dragon was a bit more of a challenge.

Blood Moon, book 6, will be available for preorder in July.

    #Cancer one day at a time @liviaquinn #pinktober

Livia Quinn is helping Romance Lives Forever Blog celebrate
    Cancer Awareness Week 2016.
Much has changed in the last twenty-five years since my
father died of lung cancer. Less than a month after he passed away it was
discovered that my mother had ovarian cancer. Here are some of the words from
the doctor when she came out of surgery…”It’s really too bad, she’s a
beautiful lady. It was everywhere. We couldn’t get it all. I give her a 30%
chance of living two years WITH chemo.” He patted her on the hand and
said, “You’re going to be okay with a little chemotherapy.” She
    smiled.
To say I was berserk knowing the truth and having to pretend
like everything was going to be okay while she went around relieved is an
understatement. But I don’t even know if he’d told her the truth if he could
have kept her positive attitude at bay. She told me years later she just kept
pretending it was happening to someone else and just took each step as
something she had to do. She never ever gave a thought to giving up. She lived
seven and a half years after her diagnosis, giving our family many extra years
of chances to heal relationships and prepare. I’m so so grateful for that.
I admire the strength and determination and denial it takes
to get through a big C diagnosis and treatment and everything that comes with
it. But people I know who have been through it often tell me that now they see
it as just another of life’s challenges. I hope I get to see the cure in my
    lifetime, don’t you?
    I believe we’re close.

    About the Book

My character Jack Lang has gone through a series of
challenges right up to this latest one in Take These Broken Wings.

    Genre Paranormal Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
Destiny. Is it Mayberry or Middle Earth?
Jack Lang knows first hand about Destiny’s secrets. Turns
out he was one of them. On Mardi Gras Eve he and his unlikely band of heroes
defeated some particularly nasty creatures intent on taking advantage of the
Paramortals’ vulnerability during the Chaos. They called it Chaos because the
word “Armageddon” was already taken. Destiny survived with the help
of their dragon and some special friends, then Jack received the biggest shocks
of his life. And that was saying a lot.
He’d chosen this town the year before for the normalcy and
safety it could provide his teenager after a life of upheaval with his ex. He’d
been looking for Mayberry. Instead he’d found, not a town, but a world full of
magical beings, odd occurrences, and scary creatures. There’d been one shock
after another and yet, instead of leaving and taking Jordie somewhere “safe”…
    he’d stayed.
He suspects he felt the pull of this special place long
before he’d known it existed. But that hadn’t been the only reason. It had all
begun the first time he’d seen Tempest Pomeroy. That was when his world had
turned upside down—along with half the town. He’d surprised himself with his
acceptance of the supernatural. He’d even almost accepted this latest blow, but
that had been before he found out he no longer belonged anywhere. Not with
humans, and not among supernaturals. Something had gone haywire in his family
    DNA.
Now he’s abandoned the women in his life, his
responsibilities–everything except for the need to quench the gnawing hunger
in his gut and this compulsion to jump off the highest levees in the parish. He
was just sorry there were no mountains in Louisiana.

    Introducing Sheriff Jack Lang

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
Thanks, it’s good to be here. I’m Jack Lang, thirty-three, former Navy pilot, now Sheriff of Destiny, Louisiana. I have a spunky, beautiful fifteen year old daughter named Jordie.
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human):
Hmm, great question, actually. I always thought I was human, or maybe I still am, in addition to being a dragon. I guess you could say things are in “transition”.
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars:
I used to be around 6′ 2″, dark complected, brown hair and green eyes but I’ve gotten taller and more muscular recently. When I shift, I turn into a big sparkly dragon with silver eyes.
    Who is your significant other.
Five months ago, I would have told you it was Tempe. Now, I could be in the dog…er…  dragon house…cave. My life has kinda gone FUBAR.
Tell us a little about yourself.
After getting full custody of my daughter, my parents suggested I run for sheriff in Destiny. I figured it would be the perfect (normal) place to recover from the craziness of our life with my ex, Georgeanne.
    I was wrong.
Please tell us about your education.
I signed up for the U.S. Navy as soon as I graduated and within two years was doing what I always wanted to do. Fly. I knew the Navy would supply everything I desired – travel, education, a career and women. I figured those would be the most important things in my life. Then my daughter Jordie came along.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
I live simply because nothing matters but keeping Jordie safe and providing for her needs, but that hasn’t been simple. Nothing’s simple when it comes to G-Crazy.
On what special skills do you rely?
Until recently, the only special skill I had was flying, but then I was blindsided with this quickening thing and now I can’t even do that.
Are any of your skills a source of pride or embarrassment, and if so, which ones and why?
Definitely embarrassment. This new form I’ve taken on, though it’s not exactly a skill, well, I should have more control over it. When Conor shifts he morphs into an awesome dragon knight with these giant swords strapped to his shoulders. Me? I just wind up naked as a jaybird. And what good is a dragon that can’t breathe fire, or fly? Embarrassing is not the word.
    How do you dress?
Nothing exciting. I wear a sheriff’s uniform, unless I’ve just shifted, then… see the previous question.
How well do you know your neighbors?
Ha! Neighbors. Is that a euphemism for crazy supernaturals? Cause that’s what my town is all about. I know a heck of a lot more now that I did six months ago when I moved here thinking it was a quaint, ordinary town for Jordie. Seriously, I was thinking “Mayberry”. But instead, I found Middle Earth.
    What is your breaking point?
I didn’t think I had one, until I met Tempest Pomeroy and the citizens of Destiny.
But that was then… now, I think I overestimated my own resilience, and possibly my mental stability.
Do you see morality as black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
Black and white was the old Jack. Things were so much simpler then; now it seems I see nothing but gray. I’m having a hard time with change, and my relationships with Tempe and my daughter are suffering. If I don’t get it together soon, I’m going to lose everything.
