Champion of Entean a new #scifi romance by @CynthiaBryn #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    About the Author

C.B. Williams is the author of several fantasy romance books
that span the subgenres of Young Adult, Space Opera, Science Fiction and
Romance. While each story is a grand adventure into time and dimension, her
stories are also reflections of contemporary issues such as social norms,
relationships, spirituality and environmentalism. She writes with keen
emotional depth, insightful observations on human nature, and a fabulously
    quirky sense of humor.
C.B. expresses her creativity across a variety of mediums,
including painting, blogging and vlogging. She enjoys candid and open
interactions with fans, readers and other authors, and shares her talent and
knowledge of the craft through her role as The Manuscript Midwife.
C.B. recently moved to Washington State, in the shadow of
Mt. Rainier with her husband, three dogs, four cats and the wild things that
    share their space with her.
When she’s not writing, you can find her painting,
adventuring, blogging or coaching other writers as the Manuscript Midwife.

    Interview with CB Williams

    Why did you write
    this book?
Champion of Entean was born from a
photograph and a bottle of wine. No kidding.
A friend of mine sent me a picture of this spectacularly handsome and
intense man she’d found on the internet. I printed it out and stared at it,
wondering what his story was. A friend came over for a girlfriends’ night. You
know the kind…it features wine, chocolate and discussions about each other’s’
significant other. She was dating an artist at the time. Makes for much
discussion. During a lull in the conversation. (How can this be, you say? It
must have been before and after the first bite of the triple chocolate brownie
fudge tort of decadence is all I can think.) Anyway, during said lull, I pull
out the picture and say “What do you think this guy’s story is?”
    She says, “I think he’s a shaman.
He looks like he lives in the forest.”
    Sound’s good,” I say, “But he’s on
a different planet with different rules.”
“Maybe he represents his planet? A
    spokesman perhaps?” she says.
“Brilliant! Maybe he’s got all the
power of the planet he represents,” I say back.
    “Cool,” she says.
    “Yeah,” I say. “Good triple
chocolate brownie fudge tort of decadence, don’t you think?” (I say this with
my mouth filled with the stuff. I think I drooled a bit. Gross.)
We’re silent for a while. Eating
    and sipping .
“I wonder,” I say, licking my
spoon, “What would happen if this powerful guy is taken off his planet and,
away from his planet, his powers are no longer sourced and he becomes
    ordinary?”
And there you have it. How Champion
    of Entean got written
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
    I have
lots of favorites. I think what motivates me more is who’s writing the book. I
love an artistic author. A wordsmith. A storyteller. But I find many of these
artists reside in the fantasy genre. Think Tolkien, Patrick Rothfuss, Charles
de Lint, J.K. Rowling. I read romance, too, mind you. I love Science Fiction
Romance. I love Space Opera.  Chick Lit. Historicals. You name it.
Currently, I’m rereading The Spymaster Series by Joanna Bourne. She writes
    historical romance. They are spectacular.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
It’s true. You do really love your
own characters. Glad you specified. I hate to pick a favorite! Note my answer
to the favorite genre. Right now I’m in love with Grey in The Spymaster’s Lady
    because I’m reading about him. He’s love-worthy, believeyoume.  I have a
huge crush on Paul Atriedes from Dune by Frank Herbert. Okay, and now for a
female character. I really, REALLY like Jilly Coppercorn in Charles de Lint’s
urban fantasy novels. She crops up a lot in his books as a secondary character.
Her story was told in The Onion Girl. She’d be an awesome friend.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
Currently, I’m working on Episode 2
of  The Entean Saga.  Brightness Calling. It’s scheduled to be
    released this September.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
I’ve just launched a new series
that looks at over-population, planet’s resources and the need to protect Mother
Earth.  The fantasy touch with this
series is that all of the planets are sentient beings. The first book in the
series is Champion of Entean: Episode One of the Entean Saga. Here is the story
    summary:
    Champion! Something comes!
    It is not mine.
    I fear.
    Hurry, Champion!
And so begins the Entean Saga.
Eloch, the Champion of Entean, is
asked by the planet who loves him to travel light-years from his home to Spur,
a technologically advanced planet whose citizens are determined to colonize
    Entean.
And because Eloch loves his planet
Entean, he goes…only to discover that the vast power flowing through him, power
only a Champion can wield, vanishes the moment the spacecraft bound for Spur
    enters its first wormhole.
Now powerless and alone, how can
Eloch stop the colonization, as he has sworn to do?
    Meanwhile, on Spur, Sub-City
Kinlord Wren has her own problems. Sensing the imminent threat of a Culling, in
which the strongest of her Folk are taken to serve the UpperUppers who live
Above while the weak and old are killed, she must find a way to protect those
under her care. How can she give the Martials what they want while keeping
    those they don’t alive?
    Eloch and Wren—strangers from
different corners of the universe brought together by happenstance. When their
paths cross, it will change each’s mission to serve and protect, as well as the
    course of their very lives.

    5 Easy Questions: Amy Boyles Rendered @amyboylesauthor #RLFblog #dystopianromance

    Rendered
Amy Boyles author of Rendered answers five easy questions to
help readers get to know her better.

    Author
    Bio

After living in Chicago, Louisville and New York,
Amy finally settled in North Alabama with her husband. Along with writing, she has
a passion for cooking ridiculously fattening food and complaining about weight gain.
She loves to connect with readers.
    What’s your favorite down-home
    family style meal?
    I’m from the South and
though neither of my parents are from the area, they relocated us here when I was
five. However, it wasn’t until I was well into my twenties that I started eating
the down-home food. My favorite meal, without exception, would have to be Turkey
or Chicken and Cornbread dressing. Dear Lord. If you’ve never had cornbread dressing,
you haven’t lived. Seriously. I’ve made it enough times that I don’t use a recipe
anymore, but if you’ve never made it and you love to eat—find a recipe and try it.
Hopefully, you’ll thank me for the recommendation.
    What is your go-to meal
    when you dine out?
    Dining out? What’s that?
I have a toddler and am expecting another child, so I don’t get to do that anymore!
That question just depresses me. Just kidding. If I remember correctly, my go-to
meal used to be Chicken Tikka Masala at just about any Indian restaurant. I love
it. From what I understand, it’s not an authentic Indian meal, but seriously it’s
so freakin’ good it makes me happy just to think about it. Eating some of that with
warm naan bread and I’m in heaven. At least for the twenty or so minutes it’ll take
    me to eat it.
    Who is your “book
boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
This is such an easy question!
Hands down, my book boyfriend is Daemon Sadie from Anne Bishop’s The Black Jewels
Trilogy. If you’d asked me this maybe three years ago I would’ve said Richard Rahl
from the Sword of Truth series because there’s something honest in his altruism.
    But once I read Daughter
of the Blood and experienced the raw pain and deep suffering of Sadie, I was absolutely
won over. His character undergoes such an incredible arc over the span of that book
—from practically broken and brooding to being someone full of wondrous joy. It’s
an awesome journey to have been a part of. And he’s so sexy! It’s not even overt—he
simply is. Oh! And he’s dangerous, too! I wouldn’t want to cross paths with him.
If you’ve never read the book. Go. Buy. It. Now. Sadie is worth every cent.
    Tell us about your favorite
    toy as a child.
Ok, so I had this Wonder
Woman doll that I loved. Adored. I also had Wonder Woman underoos (aging myself,
I know) that I wore as a bathing suit. Why? Because I loved them. No, I didn’t care
that they were underwear. They signified Wonder Woman, and that was all that mattered.
    Anyhoo, I had this Wonder
Woman doll. Loved her…and then I lost her. I don’t know where. I probably left her
in a store or a bathroom or something. But I remember that I dreamed about getting
another doll because I adored her so much. I dreamt that I received this gift at
Christmas. Funny thing is, I don’t remember if I ever got another doll, all I remember
is I lost her and then dreamed I got her back. Ha! That’s sort of the story of a
romance novel, isn’t it? Two people come together, then something keeps them from
each other and then they wind up together in the end. Amen to that.
    When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?
    I’ll read anything. Mostly.
I read romance—contemporary, historical, whatever catches my eye, but I mainly just
want a great story. Something that takes me for a ride. I think that’s why I read
a lot of fantasy. I want to live in a world and become part of it, learn how the
magic works and be surprised by the twists and turns that great fantasy writers
    throw into their novels.
    What I don’t read a lot
of is crime/mystery/suspense. Not because I don’t like it, but because I’m not as
familiar with the genre. By all means, if any readers have suggestions for great
books in those categories, throw them my way. I’d love to have more books to fill
    my Kindle.

    About
    the Book

    Title Rendered (A Dark
    Revolution Novella – Book Two)
    Genre Romance, dystopian
    Author Amy Boyles
    Book heat level (based
    on movie ratings): R
Ten years ago, Drian Becker underwent the Rendering, a humiliating body
exam imposed upon the masses by her father, a commander in the Patriot Army. Being
a high ranking official’s daughter, Drian thought she was safe from the practice—not
so. Her father’s betrayal left her emotionally scarred and dishonored.
It’s now 2098. Drian hasn’t thought about the Rendering since she became
leader of a rebel faction—mostly because she’s an expert at hiding her feelings
behind a thick outer wall of badass attitude.
All that changes when Colvin Hinton walks into her camp. With his easy
swagger and even easier demeanor, Colvin makes being a rebel look good enough to
taste. But when Drian finds herself tangled in his charms she lets down her guard,
giving an old enemy the chance to take her out once and for all.
If loving a man is this dangerous, would Drian have been better off remaining
in the clutches of her father and living with the scars of being Rendered?

    Hidden Desire
This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces
    the story.

    About the Author

Writing for Barbara Donlon Bradley started innocently enough.
Like most, she kept diaries, journals, and wrote an occasional letter but she also
had a vivid imagination and wrote scenes and short stories adding characters to
her favorite shows and comic books. As time went on she found the passion for writing
to be a strong drive for her. Humor is also very strong in her life. No matter how
hard she tries to write something deep and dark, it will never happen. That humor
bleeds into her writing. Since she can’t beat it she has learned to use it to her
advantage. Now she lives in Tidewater, Virginia with two cats, one mother in law
    – who’s 87 — her husband, and son.

    Interview with Barbara Donlon Bradley

    Why did you write this
    book?
Because if I didn’t, I think my characters would have beaten
me up in my sleep. This is the 8th book in a series I’ve been working on.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
I like reading what I write which is SF/futuristic but I also
edit for a publisher so I’m reading a lot of different genres. It’s something I
enjoy and it makes me a little sharper when I edit my own work.
    Who is your favorite character
from fiction (not including your own)?
Wow – I have to pick just one? Hmmm, I’ve always loved Thomas
Covenant the Unbeliever – I loved the series so much I bought the books in hardback
back when I was young and broke.
    What are you working on
at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I am finishing the edits on book 9 of my series titled Timeless
Desire. I changed the timeline leaving only two people who know what happened and
their job is to set it right. Then I’m working on the next book in the series, editing
a werewolf book I wrote several years ago and have a short story I want to write
    about dragons.
    Please tell us about your
    latest book.
Heather wants to fight beside her people, not watch from a safe
distance. So when her brother comes up with a way to disguise her she jumps at the
chance. Now she can try out for an elite team to help defeat Reasta, who has a stronghold
on their planet. No one knows who she is, including her mate, who has also been
disguised. They must find each other, qualify for the team and help rescue the elders
    without being found out.
