    No One on Earth @JenniferTLoring #RLFblog #scifiromance #SFR

Welcome Jennifer Loring author of No One on Earth, a new m/m
    sci-fi romance.
    Why did you write
    this book?
After Glows Publishing had put out a call for m/m sci-fi
romance novellas to be collected into a holiday-themed anthology. The concept
interested me, so I experimented with a couple of different story ideas, all
involving Native American folklore, before settling on the legend of the
Handsome Fellow. I grew up on a reservation, but this was my first time writing
an indigenous character. I don’t think it will be my last. J Anyway,
the novella first appeared in Starstruck Holidays this past Christmas and is
    now releasing on its own.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
It will probably always be horror. I also love non-fiction.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
Two are characters I’ve loved since I was a
teenager—Irrylath from The Darkangel Trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce and Zach
from Poppy Z. Brite’s Drawing Blood. I also adore Constantine from Robin
    McKinley’s Sunshine.
    What are you working
    on at the moment?
A Gothic/paranormal romance novella for After Glows,
concepts for a narrative game, and a lot of short fiction.
    What books will we see
    from you in coming months?
March will bring my novella Prison Made of Mirrors, a
retelling of Snow White, from Strange Fictions Press. The final book of The
Firebird Trilogy (The Pieces of Us) releases from Limitless Publishing in April,
and the first Erotikós anthology—containing two of my erotic horror short
stories—from DarkFuse. In May, I’ll be in a contemporary romance anthology that
    I can’t talk about yet.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.

Jon, a psychic since childhood, has never felt at home in
the world, even less so after his lover died on Winter Solstice a year ago.
Since his abilities failed him when he needed them most, he turns to alcohol
and rejects his family’s assertion that he is a Star Child—an alien/human
hybrid. When Jon’s sister suggests he should look into the legend of Handsome
Fellow, Jon decides that if he cannot find happiness himself, he will bring it
    to others.
Erukkass’ people, a species of interdimensional aliens, have
been observing Earth and interacting with humans for so many centuries that
some Native American tribes believe their ancestors originated from the stars.
After his lover passed away in what appears to be a medical accident, he
accepts a scientific mission… but not for the reasons his government expects. He
has located his beloved on another timeline, in another universe—ours—and he
    will not leave without him.
Jon returns home from work one evening to find a gift of his
own—a strange young man waiting for him. Erukkass unveils one stunning
revelation after another, including the truth behind his lover’s death and the
nature of time itself. Can he and Jon forge a future together, or will two
timelines that have always intersected, no matter when or where, finally be
    forced to diverge?

Meet Twilka Zabour: Star Survivor @vscotttheauthor #RLFblog #SFR

Welcome Twilka Zabour from Star Survivor, a new Science
    Fiction Romance by Veronica Scott.
    Title Star Survivor
    Genre SciFi Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13+
The survivors of a terrible wreck meet again—but this time
    only one can survive.
They survived an iconic spaceship wreck together. She never
expected to see him again … especially not armed to kill her.
Twilka Zabour is an interstellar celebrity. She built on her
notoriety as a carefree Socialite who survived the terrible wreck of the Nebula
Dream, and launched a successful design house. But now the man who gave meaning
to her life, then left her, is back–this time for the worst of reasons. Will he
kill her … or help her survive?
D’nvannae Brother Khevan survived the Nebula Dream in the
company of a lovely, warm woman, only to be pulled away from her, back into his
solitary life in the service of the Red Lady. Now Twilka’s within his reach
again–for all the wrong reasons. Khevan will do everything within his power to
discover why Twilka has been targeted for assassination, and to save her.
But Khevan is not Twilka’s only pursuer. Will Khevan and
Twilka’s ingenuity be all that stands between them and death?

    Meet Twilka Zabour

Age: early 30’s (but people live much longer in the future)
    Gender: Female
Birthplace: on a rich Inner Sector planet
    Profession: Fashion Designer/Interstellar Celebutante
    Species (for scifi/fantasy characters):Human
    Please provide a
    physical description of yourself.
Depends on the day and my mood! Usually about 5’5″,
brown eyes, good figure, hair brunette but subject to change on a whim.
    Please tell us a
    little about yourself.
I’m one of 37 children – my father is a generational
billionaire and has had many wives and girlfriends. I used to spend all my time
pleasure seeking and going wherever the excitement was to be found in the
galaxy, but after surviving the titanic wreck of the cruise liner Nebula Dream,
I realized I was capable of doing so much more. I established my own business
as a fashion designer. Yes, I took a loan from my Dad, but I gave him a
detailed business plan and have since paid him back. Sometimes I appear in
trideo entertainments (equivalent to your movies) as myself. My earlier
reputation as a ‘celebrity’ helps the business.
Who is the significant other in your life?
Khevan, a member of the D’nvannae Brotherhood. We fell in
love during the catastrophic events of the Nebula Dream, but then he left me
with no explanation…until we meet again at the start of Star Survivor.
    How do you dress?
In the height of interstellar fashion, as decreed by me.
(Twilka laughs) I source unusual materials from many worlds and try to give
back by commissioning local women to create special designs, fabrics and
accessories for my collections. I like dramatic clothes that capture attention,
although I can be found in a simple cotton dress and sandals if the situation
requires it. I don’t do gimmicks but find my inspiration in the art, natural
wonders and culture of planets I visit. I try to be respectful and mindful of
    the local beliefs and traditions.
    Are you book-smart, self-taught,
    widely-experienced?
Mostly self taught and widely experienced. Watching my
father and my older brothers and sisters work in the Sectors corporate world
taught me so much. My Dad would discuss business at the dinner table when he
was home, and sometimes took us younger kids to the office or on business trips
to observe. He intended for various of his offspring to take over different
aspects of his corporate empire. Of course then I did the teenage rebellion
thing! My years of traveling with fellow rich kids and idle celebrities were a
school of hard knocks and dumb choices leading to my learning through
consequences. I’ve also had some amazing mentors since I started my own
    business.
Do you get by, live comfortably,
    live extravagantly?
Classic poor little rich girl here. Never appreciated my
good fortune properly until I survived the wreck and then decided to have my
own business. Now that I make my own credits and pay my own bills, I’m much
more sensible about what luxuries I give myself, and I try to give back on the
worlds where I obtain my fabrics and accessories. A certain portion of profits
from Zabour Designs goes to worthy projects, different on each planet,
    depending what they need most.
    On what special skills
    do you rely?
I’ve always been able to draw and paint, and since I was a
child I’d sketch clothing and accessories. I love to design. Even when the
situation is at its worst in Star Survivor, I try to handle my stress by doing
new drawings. I’m good with people, I understand business and I’ve learning I’m
very good in a crisis situation. Not much rattles me.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you most want
    it to be, and why?
For five years I dreaded meeting Khevan again, since he’d
left me with no explanation and returned to the service of the Red Lady, the
goddess he served. Yet on the other hand, I longed to give him a piece of my
mind…and maybe a second chance. So when we did encounter each other at the
beginning of the adventure known as Star Survivor, I had so many mixed emotions
    to deal with.
    What past event causes
    you the most fear?
I used to have terrible flashbacks to certain events that
happened during the wreck of the Nebula Dream, but if Khevan and I were going
to survive the Red Lady’s wrath in Star Survivor, I literally had to face those
fears and overcome them. The advantage I had this time – besides Khevan’s love
    – was that I know myself now and how strong I really.

March Fellows assumed he had all the time in the galaxy to
pursue a relationship with Jules, an alien exchange student from Xenia, until
she vanished without a trace. After years of searching, he finds his lost love
on the eve of her arranged marriage.
The daughter of the Xenian emperor, Julietta never meant to
fall in love with a Terran man while visiting Earth. Leaving to fulfill her
responsibilities on her home planet opened up a hole in her heart that could
never be filled. When March, now a cyborg, unexpectedly shows up just before
she is to be bonded, she struggles to find the courage to turn him away a
second time and follow through with her duty.
Before she can act, the lovers are thrust into a political conspiracy
that threatens the Xenian empire and their lives.

    Introducing March Fellows

    Age: 32
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Terra
    Profession: Field agent, Cyber Operations
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Cyborg
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include
any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
Tall, dark hair and eyes. Nano-infused muscles.
    Cyber-modified human body.
    Please tell us a
    little about yourself.
I used to be a university professor. While on sabbatical off
planet, my research team was attacked by terrorists, and I was critically
injured in the bombing. I was rushed to a Cybermed facility. The transformation
to cyborg saved my life. I worked as a field agent for Cyber Operations for
many years before going to work for Moonbeam Remanufacturing, a secret
spacecraft factory. But after what happened on Xenia, I’m going back to work
    for Cy-Ops.
    Are you book-smart, self-taught,
    widely-experienced?
I have a doctorate. But being a field agent for Cyber
Operations you see a side to the galaxy that most people never do. Frankly, it’s
not pretty. And I’ve had to make some tough decisions and choices. In my former
line of work, I’ve had to terminate combatants. Does that make me experienced?
    On what special skills
    do you rely?
I’m a cyborg. I’m larger, stronger and faster than the
average Terran male. I have a computer processor embedded between my brain
hemispheres, enabling me to hack into most computer systems and spaceships. I
can communicate telepathically with other cyborgs. Unfortunately, all my
specialized computer skills didn’t help much in my search to find Jules. She
    vanished without a trace.
    Do you see morality as
black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
Most things do fall into a gray area, but of course, there
is black and white, also. Some things are clearly wrong. The Association of the
Planets cautions against judgment, but I’ve seen many strange customs that ruin
people’s lives. Like Xenian arranged marriages. They have a seer who matches
couples. Xenians don’t even meet their mates until they marry. If they happen
to fall in love with someone else, well, too bad. How can a custom like that
    benefit people?
    If someone from your past
showed up, who would you most want it to be, and why?
    Jules. She’s the one
I’ve been searching for eight years. I met her at the university. She was an
alien exchange student from Xenia. We were in love—at least I was—then she
disappeared in the middle of the night without any hint or warning. I’ve never
been able to forget her. I just want to know that she’s okay.
    Can you keep a secret?
    Why or why not?
My entire life is one big secret. The cyborg project was
classified. For the longest time I couldn’t tell people I was a cyborg. Cy-Ops
still operates off the grid, and Moonbeam, the spacecraft factory I work for is
located at a cloaked facility. Secrecy has become second nature to me. It’s
actually hard for me to open up.
    If you could make any
one thing happen, what would it be?
I would find Jules. I want to know what happened to her. If
    she’s okay.
    How do you handle challenges?
By facing them head-on. A cyborg never gives up.
    What would you like
people who hear your story to know?
    I’m innocent. I didn’t do it. I was framed.
