About the Author
Historical romance author Rue Allyn lives in southeast Michigan with the love of her life and one tyrannical cat, where she works daily on making Happy Ever After come true.Interview with Rue Allyn
Why did you write this book?I wrote these books because The heroes and heroines of these books are very real to me, and their stories are very dear to my heart. What is your favorite genre to read?Historical romance of just about any period.Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?Difficult to say but at the moment, Chaucer’s Wife of BathWhat are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?I’m delighted to say I’m working on my first regency romance. In the months after that is completed I hope to be writing more medieval romances and a few set in the American west of the1870s.Please tell us about your latest book.
There’s danger by day and wild conquest by night when Scottish and English nobles clash in this medieval romance bundle. Don’t miss a moment as these knights in shining armor launch valiant quests and discover love where they least expect it.About the Book

Meet Sir Talon Quereste from The Herald’s Heart #MedievalRomance @RueAllyn #RLFblog
Meet Sir Talon Quereste from The Herald’s Heart.Author Bio
Historical romance author Rue Allyn lives in southeast Michigan with the love of her life and one tyrannical cat, where she works daily on making Happy Ever After come true.About the Book
Title The Herald’s HeartGenre Medieval RomanceBook heat level (based on movie ratings G, PG, PG13, R): RRoyal herald, Sir Talon Quereste could never love an overly adventurous, impulsive, argumentative woman of dubious background who threatens everything he values. Lady Larkin Roshan can only despise a man who would deny her identity and steal her heritage. So why has fate thrown them together to solve the mysteries of the heart?Introducing Sir Talon Quereste
Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.Name: Sir Talon QuerestAge: Twenty sixGender: MaleBirthplace: Hawksedge Keep, on the coast of Northumbria near the Scottish borderProfession: Royal HeraldEthnicity/Species (if not human):Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars. I have, according to most women, guinea gold hair and pansy purple eyes. (Snickers) As if any knight would admit to something so effeminate as eyes the color of pansies. My chin is square and my mouth firm-lipped. I’m proud that there’s nothing weak about me, physically or otherwise. I consider myself taller than the average man. Some say I’m too tall. I work hard, so my shoulders are broad, my hips lean, and my legs strong enough to sit a horse from sun up to well past sundown. I’m outside a great deal of the time, so I’m definitely not fair skinned. Is there anything else you’d like to know.Who is the significant other in your life?No one until I met Lady Larkin Rosham. She’s overly adventurous, impulsive, argumentative and not at all the sort of woman I imagined I would love. Please tell us a little about yourself.I’m a complicated man. My origins are not as straightforward as I always believed them to be, but Larkin helped me accept the truth. I get great satisfaction from solving puzzles, as most heralds do, Our service to the king requires that we be able to easily discern truth from lie and make decisions that may affect noble families and the kingdom for years, perhaps centuries, to come.If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?Smoke, definitely smoke. My voice is deep as a man’s ought to be. However, I often spend weeks in the saddle alone so I’ve developed a very soft rasp.Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly? My service to the king allows me to indulge in pleasures and comforts whenever I have time. Sadly that is not as often as I would like. I have hopes that the king will reward me with a significant holding for the singular service I provided him recentlyWhat inner doubt causes you the most difficulty? That I might not be as good and honorable as I believe myself to be. My father unjustly repudiated me when I was six just after my mother died. Despite the fact that I have little respect or liking for the man, his rejection has always been the source of self-doubt. I have learned to thank him, because his repudiation spurred me to excel. I might not be quite the same man I am today had it not been for his unjust actions. What is your breaking point?Larkin nearly died once. I bargained with God for her life and caused us no end of trouble as a result. What would you like to tell your writer? You should have made Larkin more cooperative, less stubborn, and less impulsive. Honestly what were you thinking to have her as the love of my life?Buy This Book

Knight Defender by @RueAllyn #Medieval #RLFBlog
Today’s featured book is Knight Defender by Rue Allyn.
About the Book
Genre Medieval RomanceAuthor Rue AllynBook heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Sent alone to Scotland to wed a wild Scot and serve the needs of her father and her king, Lady Jessamyn intends to escape the marriage and train horses for the good sisters at a nearby nunnery. But her intended is not the wild, boorish monster she imagined – just Baron Raeb MacKai, a man struggling to provide the best for his clan. It could be surprisingly easy to surrender her heart to him, until she learns his plans involve deceiving her family and attacking the king’s ship that bears her brother.
Raeb is done watching everyone he loves live in poverty and despair. His betrothal to a wealthy English heiress will solve a decade of problems, and the Scots’ secret plot to keep King Edward I from getting a foothold on their rugged coastline will secure his family’s future. If he must deny himself the spirited woman who would warm his bed and his heart, so be it.
Neither is willing to give an inch in this clash of loyalties, but can either defend their hearts?Buy This Book

Author of historical, contemporary and erotic romances, I fell in love with happily ever after the day I heard my first story. (Yes, I was a precocious little brat who read at the age of two, but I could hear much earlier than that.) I studied literature for far too many years before discovering that writing stories was much more fun than analyzing them. Heck, as an author, I get to read the story before anyone else. I am happily married to my sweetheart of many, many years. My husband and I share the home of two cats, who condescend to allow me to feed them and clean their litter box. (The cats only tolerate my husband’s assistance when I am not available.)They occasionally permit me to pet them but demand my love and attention as their right. (Funny, my husband demands the same. Could I be married to my cats? Does that make me a trigamist?) Regardless of my specific relationship status with our cats, I am in awe of their feline ability to dominate with half a glance or a mere twitch of tail. Insatiably curious, an avid reader and traveler, I love to hear from readers about your favorite books and real life adventures. Crazy Cat stories are especially welcome. You can send me your words of wisdom . . . Don’t shake your head at me; all words are wise in one context or another. You can trust me on this; I’m an author. As I was saying, you can send your words of wisdom, humor, and friendship to me at contact@RueAllyn.com. Can’t wait to hear from you.Author Social Media

Why did you write
this book?I love the medieval period, and research into 1294 AD told
me about the resignation of Pope Celestine V. As we all know from recent events
the resignation of a Pope is fraught with opportunity for change. I write about
that kind of opportunity in Knight Errant. What is your favorite
genre to read?Any historical that takes place before 1900.Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)? There are so many, I find choosing difficult. I think the
loathly lady (a character archetype) is probably my favorite because she is
full of surprises. What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?I am working on the second book in my Knight Series,
tentatively titled Knight Warrior. This and the third book, Knight Protector,
take place in Scotland 1295.Please tell us about
your latest book.Lady Juliana Verault gladly left England—and its men—far
behind in her quest to live as a Beguine. But the Christian community ceases to
provide a safe haven when she’s called to travel to Palermo, Italy, where she’s
entrusted with a letter from the pope that could radically change the church’s
stance on women. Juliana holds the key to upending the power structure
throughout Europe, but only if she can dodge her cousin, King Edward I of
England, and his betrothal plans for her.Edward sets Sir Robert Clarwyn, a knight errant and loyal
hunter of criminals and traitors, on Juliana’s trail to retrieve her. Robert
has never failed to bring home his target before … but then, he has never
encountered a quarry like Lady Juliana, who can befuddle and bemuse him with
just a smile. If he can’t find a way to compel her to return to England,
he’ll lose any chance of regaining his family lands and redeeming his heritage.
Yet Juliana must complete her mission or risk endangering her gender’s future
in the faith. With danger and intrigue mounting, Robert and Juliana must
rely on each other and be willing to risk everything … including their hearts.About the Book
