Moonlight Masquerade
5 Easy Questions is an interview is designed to be quick,
easy, and fun. Today’s guest is Raine Delight.
What is your go-to meal
to order when you dine out? Your favorite “I know it will hit the spot”
item.
If I am at Olive Garden, I always get Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo
as it is one of my favorites there and I just love their Alfredo sauce.
Who is your “book
boyfriend”? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
Oh lord I have to pick just one??? Do you know how hard that
is for me. *laughs* Well my all time favorite is Roarke from J.D. Robb’s In Death
Series. This character hits all my love buttons and then some.
What were you like when
you were in school?
Oh lord have mercy, I was that nerd who liked school and got
school credit for volunteering in the school library all four years of High School.
Would you rather stay
inside and watch snow falling, or get out in it and build a snowman?
For myself, I am not much of a cold weather person so I like
to stay indoors and watch the snow fall while I read a book. My kids sometimes drag
me out to help them in the winter to build snowmen or go sledding.
What was the last movie
you watched (home or theater)?
Last movies were X-Men: Days of Future Past as well as The Amazing
Spiderman at the local drive-in. X-men was really, really awesome and the new spiderman
was okay though I am not a big spiderman fan.

Interview

If you could change something about your first book, what
would it be?
I would make it a bit longer and more fleshed out.
What do you enjoy most about writing?
Creating new characters and worlds. I love opening a new word
document and letting my muse take over.
How do you cope with stress as an author?
With lots of coffee and my sounding board, my partner of seven
years.
Which of your books would you recommend to someone who doesn’t
normally read your genre, and why?
If you enjoy paranormal with romance, then please try my Devon Falls
series. Each book is a new set of main characters but past characters pop up and
help move the story along. I have dream walkers, shifters and soon the fae as well
as elemental mages will be popping in.
What kind of books do you read when taking a break from your
own writing?
All depends on my mood. Lately I am into fantasy such as Jim
Butcher, Gail Z. Martin and a few others plus my m/m faves such as Sue Brown, Andrew
grey and more.
What do you think is the future of traditional publishing?
I think traditional publishing is now just seeing how well e-books
are really doing and though late to the party, they are trying to play catch up
even after many years of scoffing at e-books and their popularity. I would love
to see the big six redo their publishing model and make it more relevant to today’s
changing world as well as fighting against e-book pirates.
Imagine you get to go on a dream vacation, but you have only
one hour to pack and leave, and it starts as soon as you finish this interview.
What will you take with you and where will you go?
Some place warm…maybe Hawaii
since I have never been there. Shorts, bathing suit and maybe my trusty yoga pants
as well as a few pairs of jeans. If money is no object then I am planning to buy
clothes there. J
What good book have you read recently?
I am loving Gail Z. Martin’s Chronicles of the Necromancer/Fallen
Kings series…wonderful fantasy and in e-books, I loved Andrew Grey’s debut young
adult story, By The Creek under pen name Geoff Laughton. Exquisitely written and
very heartfelt.
If you were a color, what color would you be?
I am an all shades of blue or purple kind of girl
Please underline which statement is more like you:
“I am a vacation spa because I am laid back and relaxed.”
“I am a ten-countries in ten-days tour vacation, because
I do things as fast as possible.”

Please complete the sentences

I love pizza with black olives, pepperoni, and mushrooms.
I’m always ready for unexpected company with plenty of coffee
and cookies around my house.
When I’m alone, I like curling up in my honey’s big easy chair
and reading on my nook
.
You’d never be able to tell, but I had over a dozen surgeries
in my teens for cervical spine cancer
.
If I had a halo it would be hung up on my devil horns.
If I could be anyone I’d be Johnny Depp’s assistant.
I can never have too many books because it’s unnatural
not to have books IMO
.

Find Me Here

Welcome Raine! Tell us about your latest book.
Answer: Hi Kayelle, first thanks for having me here today. I
have a few things in the pipeline right now coming in the next several months.
March 2011: From Shadowfire Press~Fantasies Unbound
(Fae/Fantasy Romance) *this is a re-release and was formally titled Fairy
Kisses and Magical Dreams*
Can destiny lead a Fae Prince to the one woman who can
complete him mind, body and soul?
June 2011: From Secret Cravings Publishing~the fifth book in
the Devon Falls series comes out, Moonlight and Magic (Were-tiger/Paranormal
Erotic Romance).
Can a were-tiger convince one stubborn woman that she is his
for all time and show her that falling in love is just as sinful as a chocolate
kiss?
Plus I have a few previous released books out to a publisher
that I am waiting to hear about. If you keep an eye on my facebook page, blog
and website, I try to update weekly on those projects.
What is the genre, and does it cross over to other genres?
If so, what are they?
Answer: I primarily write erotic romance, paranormal/fantasy
but I am branching out into MM, science fiction/futuristic but always return to
paranormal. There is something about that genre that calls to me.
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
Answer: I fell in love with writing Michael Barnes from
Moonlight and Magic. He was a lonely man who didn’t want to believe there was
someone out there for him. Complex yet vulnerable….I loved writing it. Next I
am embroiled in my two heroes from Space Pirates. Throw in Firefly, mix in a
dash of Capt. Jack Sparrow from POTC series and stir well. That is what I am
aiming for anyways. LOL
If money were not an object, where would you most like to
live?
Answer: Oh man…skies the limit huh? Well any where with my
honey and kids of course but some place warm and sunny would be nice…maybe
Texas or Arizona or I would love to live in the wilds of Scotland. J Something
about the moors there calls to me.
What genres and authors would we find you reading when
taking a break from your own writing?
Answer: Paranormal, urban fantasy, fantasy, historical
romance books. I jump all over depending on my mood in what I read.
What feature do you start with when writing a description of
your hero/ine? Eyes, age, hair color, personality, name, etc?
Answer: Well sometimes I get a name and a description from
the character in question; other times I find out when I am half way through
the book. It all depends if I can “see” the character in my mind or not.
If I was a first time reader of your books, which one would
you recommend I start with and why?
Answer: Well currently I am with a brand new publisher so
many of my books are no longer available. If you like paranormal, then take a
look at my Devon Falls series-shifters, dream walkers, sex mages and more in
this little fictional town I created. J You don’t have to read it in order but
some things that happen in past books, end up being mentioned in upcoming
books.
What do you hope readers take with them after reading one of
your stories?
Answer: That love and romance is universal and can transcend
the barriors.
A biography has been written about you. What do you think
the title would be (in six words or less)?
Answer: Oh man…making me think here.um……Lived a full life.
What song would best describe your life?
Answer: dang…no clue on this at all. Maybe a bon jovi song
or something. J
If you were a tool, what would people use you to do?
Answer: *blinks* Does this mean I have to be PG or can I get
in the gutter with this one? *laughs*
Picture yourself as a store. Considering your personality
and lifestyle, what type of products would be sold there?
Answer: Maybe new age items or food…or candles..Um all
three. J
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?
Answer: Open at your own risk!
What is the one question you wish an interviewer would ask
you?
Answer: What it is like being a cougar in this day and age?
:-P
