Read Vawn by Jessica E Subject @jsubject #RLFblog #SciFiRomance #MMRomance #SciFi
It was supposed to be one night with no strings attached. But why can’t they get each other out of their heads? That’s what happens to Vawn and Ojokun in VAWN, an MM SciFi Romance by Jessica E Subject.
Jessica, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Vawn.
Vawn by Jessica E Subject
Genre MM SciFi Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Vawn doesn’t need a mate. He’s already established himself universe-wide as a hot name in fashion, while raising his daughter. But he won’t say no to a fling with a hot space racer when he travels to Eurebly to visit his brothers. One night. That’s all he can give. Because his heart shattered when he lost his previous alpha, and he hasn’t been able to repair it completely. He refuses to love someone like that ever again.
Ojokun survived on Jenegath in order to leave the planet and become the best space racer in the universe. Though he flies with a team, he’s never depended on anyone outside of his jet. He keeps to himself. Has one-night stands, just like every other space racer. But, after a mind-blowing night with the brother of two of his teammates, he can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous omega, or the foreign longing that scares him more than his overly-protective teammates.
Can Ojokun convince Vawn that he wants more than one night? Or is that all they were ever meant to be?
QUICK
Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?…
Yes, I write sci-fi romance and paranormal romance. It can be MM, MF, FF, or MMF. My recent releases have been MPreg.
How do you come up with ideas?…
I get inspired by pictures, music, nature, conversations, and so much more. There are actually a lot of parts of my books that were inspired by snippets of conversations. My recent release, Vawn, was inspired by a picture of seven guys walking together in racing suits with their helmets tucked under their arms.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?…
Getting these characters and their stories out of my head. It’s crowded in there, so I keep trying to give them all the stories they deserve.
When did you write your first book?…
In grade seven. It was called ‘It Starts With a Kiss.’
FUN
Leather or lace? Both. There’s leather and lace in Vawn. ????
Black or red? Both. And purple, green, blue, gray…
Satin sheets or smooth cotton? Cotton
Ocean or mountains? Both. There are no mountains in Vawn though.
City life or country life? Both – I’ve lived in both, and they each have their advantages and downfalls.
Party life or evening at home? Evening at home
Dogs or cats? Both. I only have a dog right now, but I grew up with both, and many more animals.

Firefighter Ozzy Lakeman falls hard and fast for pregnant construction supervisor Jo Bertoletti, a woman who has no intention of risking her heart again. But then, she hasn’t ever met a man like Ozzy before.
Anna, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Building a Surprise Family.
Building a Surprise Family by Anna J Stewart
Genre sweet contemporary romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G
Pregnant construction supervisor Jo Bertoletti doesn’t need anyone’s help…or another heartbreak. So she’s putting handsome, kindhearted firefighter Ozzy Lakeman firmly into the friend zone. After all, she’s just passing through Butterfly Harbor, and her life is too complicated for a summer romance. But Ozzy feels an immediate connection. Can he convince the woman of his dreams to take a chance on building a forever family with him?
QUICK
Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?…
I do! I write sweet contemporary romance for Harlequin Heartwarming, mainstream (steamier) contemporary, spicy romantic suspense for Harlequin Romantic Suspense and I also write paranormal romance (across the heat spectrum). In late 2022 I’ll be adding single title romantic suspense with my new Hollywood inspired series from Caezik Romance.
How do you come up with ideas?…
They come from everywhere, but most of the time it’s when I’m watching TV or a movie. Something interesting will catch my attention and I noodle it into a new idea. Or…sometimes it’s just something I see when I’m driving (this happened recently with a forthcoming book about a prison break). My brain is always taking stuff in and turning it into a story.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?…
Giving readers an escape. It’s why I love reading—I want to lose myself and forget about all the *stuff* that’s out there. If I can give readers a break from their lives, and leave a smile on their faces, then I consider that book a success. If they come back for more? That’s icing on the cake.
When did you write your first book?…
Back in the stone age, LOL. Actually, I think I started my first book (the first I ever finished) in 1987? Right before I finished high school. I actually submitted it to Harlequin (Silhouette Intimate Moments it was then) soon after, got a lovely rejection letter that encouraged me to keep going and it went right under the bed. I played at writing for a lot of years after until I decided I really wanted to make this my career. About ten years ago, my then agent asked if I had anything other than paranormal to submit to publishing houses, so I dragged that book out, rewrote it, and it sold to Berkley soon after. I’ve since gotten the rights back and published it myself (The Nemesis Files—it was the first of three in a light romantic suspense series). And that editor from Harlequin? I write for her now in the Romantic Suspense lines. A definite full-circle experience.
FUN
Leather or lace? Neither. I’ll take shorts or yoga pants.
Black or red? Black. Red clashes with my hair.
Satin sheets or smooth cotton? Cotton. I slide out of bed with satin, LOL
Ocean or mountains? Ocean. ALWAYS!
City life or country life? Ooooh, I’ve always lived in the city (grew up in SF and now live in Sacramento), so I’d love to give the country a shot.
Party life or evening at home? Home for sure. Although after this last year and a half…yeah. I’m still a homebody.
Dogs or cats? Cats, probably because I’ve always had them. I’d like a dog though. Animals make my heart happy.

Read A Town Called Nowhere by VK Tritschler @vktritschler #RLFblog #ParanormalRomance
An abandoned town and two runaway were-panthers are in VK Tristchlers’ new paranormal romance, A Town Called Nowhere. With such contrasting backgrounds, will they have the strength to start afresh, find love and start the new pack, or will their pasts come back to haunt them?
VK, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about A Town Called Nowhere.
A Town Called Nowhere by VK Tritschler
A were-panther shifter romance set in rural Australia.
Genre Paranormal Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): Moderate
What happens when two lost were-panthers meet for the first time?
Nicci, a were-panther abandoned as a child and without a pack, finds herself on the run from the law. With nothing left to lose, she doesn’t trust anyone, especially her own heart.
Dru, a famous race car driver and inheritor of one of the most influential packs in Australia, is trying to escape notoriety, and his fate. Prepared to throw away everything, he is trusting his instincts to get him through.
Together they find themselves stuck in a small rundown deserted town called Nowhere in the wilderness of rural Australia.
Can they learn to trust each other and find a future, or is the call of the wild too strong?
QUICK
Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?
Absolutely! I love to write within romance, but I have done rom-com, paranormal romance, and even romantic suspense. It’s the appeal of relationships that brings me to the general genre, but the rest I leave up to inspiration.
How do you come up with ideas?
Randomly often. A thought or idea that I might have acquired during the day, or a conversation with a friend. Sometimes I play a card game to randomly select an idea, and once I start writing I just let the world reveal itself to me.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?
Finding time and allowing yourself to get absorbed into the book and the character. For me, the story is more than just a job or a activity, it’s the world in which your characters live, breathe and love. And that is a special relationship as you get to reveal them to your own world.
When did you write your first book?
My first full book I wrote in 2014-15 and got published in 2018. It was both my greatest joy to see it in print and my biggest fear.
FUN
Leather or lace? Leather
Black or red? Red
Satin sheets or smooth cotton? Satin
Ocean or mountains? Mountains
City life or country life? Country
Party life or evening at home? Home
Dogs or cats? Both

Read Stetson’s Lady (The Diamond Ring Book 1) by Ronni Griffith @romanceronni #RLFblog #ContemporaryWestern
Ronni Griffith, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Stetson’s Lady.
Stetson’s Lady (The Diamond Ring Book 1) by Ronni Griffith
Genre Contemporary Western/Cowboy Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
He’s a man who has it all–but the lady he truly loves.
Mesa Stone left Maple Ridge to get away from her best friend’s overbearing, headstrong brother, Stetson McKane. She’s been head-over-heels in love with the sexy-as-sin cowboy since she was a little girl. Now she’s back–and drinking her sorrows away at the McKane’s annual BBQ–when she finds herself at the mercy of Stetson’s archrival.
Stetson knew Mesa was back in town, but what he didn’t expect was to find her in the arms of his nemesis. He’s been rescuing his little sister’s best friend, Mesa, since she was a tomboy in pigtails. To his amazement, the little girl who drove him crazy is all grown up and Stetson finds he doesn’t have the will power to resist her any longer.
Neither can deny the heat rising between them, but between his ex who won’t take no for an answer, and Blaine’s schemes of revenge, it seems Stetson and Mesa don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of making it work.
But it’s true what people say about things being bigger in Texas–whether it’s a stubborn male ego, a heart full of love…or the red-hot attraction between two people who belong together.
QUICK
Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?
No. Right now I only write contemporary/western. Maybe as my writing career progresses I’ll venture out into more genres. Being from Texas, my three favorite types of men are, Oilmen, Cowboys, and Athletes. This being said, I’m a huge sports fan. I think it’d be kinda fun to venture out one day, and try my hand at something sports related. I guess time will only tell.
How do you come up with ideas?…
So, I have ideas pop in my head all the time. I’ve even woken up in the middle of the night with ideas. I can listen to music, watch a TV show, talk to people at the grocery store and walk away with an idea for my book. Some of them come from past and present situations I’ve been in. Some of my best ideas come to me when I’m in the shower (that’s always interesting to jump out of the shower to grab a pen and paper to jot the idea down before it’s gone forever). I’m a pretty observant person. Just watching and talking to people give me a lot of ideas. So the short answer, I get ideas everywhere I go and pretty much everyone I come in contact with. So, like I tell my family and friends, be careful what you say and do around me, because more than likely it’ll end up in a book of mine one of these days.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?…
Writing, for me, gives me an outlet. It sounds crazy, but writing is kinda like playing my music. For the time I’m writing, I get to shut off the outside world and bury myself into the lives of my characters. I know they have their issues and things they have to go through before they get to their happily ever after, but they get there. I was an avid reader before stepping out and writing my own book. One thing I always appreciated about what authors do, is they gave me a few hours to escape everyday life. I’d like to think I give readers the same thing.
When did you write your first book?…
I spent five years on Stetson’s Lady before it was finally released. My book has been critiqued by other well known authors and close friends. It’s been edited several times and rewritten more than twice. The day my editor told me I should delete 20K words because it was way too long, I almost cried. I wrote “The End” in Maui, on November 5, 2016 and it was put out into the world on November 3, 2020. It’s a long road but one I’ll cherish forever. It’s amazing to me how fast book two is going when the first one took a long time.
FUN
Leather or lace? Leather, for sure.
Black or red? Black
Satin sheets or smooth cotton? Smooth cotton
Ocean or mountains? This is a hard one. It depends on which beach I’m at. If it’s tropical, for sure the ocean. If not, take me to the mountains.
City life or country life? I’m a born and raised country girl.
Party life or evening at home? Now-a-days, evening at home.
Dogs or cats? Dogs all the way.
