Tortured by his past and hunted by vampires, Marcus must choose between avenging his dead wife or saving Diana from the same man who ruined his life, only to discover that not everything is what it appears to be.

Naomi Bellina asks Do Werewolves Get Old #PNR @TheGoddessNaomi #RLFblog

    Guest Post with Naomi Bellina

    Do werewolves get old?
One of the best parts about reading
paranormal books is seeing how each author creates her world. You have to make
rules for your kingdom, then stick with them. Supernatural beings can have many
characteristics. How can they be killed? What are their weaknesses? Their
strengths? Do they live forever?  I want
my were-creatures to age. Yes, they live longer, healthier lives than humans
but they do grow old. And it sucks! That’s one of the themes I had big fun
playing with in Sins of Long Ago.
    Imagine you’re an alpha werewolf,
used to being in charge, to getting what and who you want. One day, you start
to notice lines on your face that weren’t there yesterday. You move a little
slower in a fight, want to come in sooner from a moon run. You’re aging, like you
knew you would, and like us regular old mortals, you start to think about
serious shit. The fun and games of youth are over and your thoughts turn to the
future. To family, friends, and maybe leaving behind some kind of legacy.
I had a challenge with one
particular scene in Sins. My editor
asked me to change it, because it made Vincent, my hero, look kind of sleazy.
The scene is important because it helps show his vulnerability when he’s
treated differently than he expects, due to his “mature” nature. I rose
to the challenge and came up with a great compromise that my editor and I both
loved. Vincent keeps his morals intact but I still got to make him suffer a
little at the hands of a wily woman.
I hope no matter what your age, you
enjoy reading Sins of Long Ago as
much as I enjoyed writing it.

    About the Book

    Werewolves and humans don’t mix.
Until danger forces an alliance and desire demands satisfaction.
    Leading his pack of werewolves
keeps Vincent plenty busy, and now with a predator out to harm them, life is
more perilous than ever. The last thing he needs is a woman to complicate
matters, especially one who sets his body and soul on fire. She’s a human and a
witch — totally the wrong woman for him. Even if he could take a mate for his
own, he refuses to put her in the danger his life has become. No way can they
ever be together. Werewolf-style love is fine anyway. No permanent partner, no
    bullshit, no heartache.
    Genevieve has never known true
love. Cursed by an enraged woman long
ago, females in her family are doomed to go insane if they fall in love. Life
has been fine without a man around– until a hot werewolf drops in and captures
her heart. Though they have plenty of obstacles to overcome, Gen knows they can
work past them. Tell that to Vincent, as he struggles with old pack rules about
love, sex, and consorting with humans.
As Vincent searches for a killer,
deals with death among his own, and tries to keep his hands off Gen, she
attempts to end her family curse. Together, they must find a way to break free
from the sins of long ago.

Deven Chandler from His Lost Mate by @kathykulig #RLFblog #PNR

    Kathy Kulig shares details
about the creation of Deven Chandler in the book His Lost Mate.

    About the Book

    Title: His Lost Mate
    Genre: Paranormal Romance
    Author: Kathy Kulig
Book heat level (Based on movie ratings): R
He lost her once hundreds of years ago. Now he must battle a new
entity. Will he lose her again forever?
    Archaeologist and
psychic Lauren Halpern embarks on a journey to uncover an ancient mystery in a
sultry and exotic jungle, but everything is getting in her way. Deven Chandler,
the drop-dead gorgeous leader of their excavation is a serious distraction she
does not need, and she’s desperately trying to guard her heart. But the heated
passion between them is undeniable, and they simply cannot find a way to stop
the inevitable. Lauren senses the supernatural connection between them holds a
secret deeper than the hot sex they’re trying to resist. And Deven, the
scientist that he is, simply won’t believe her esoteric beliefs or warnings.
    Once
they tumble into a sizzling affair the real trouble begins. From the ancient
ruins, a ghost of an ancient shaman appears. He lures them deeper to into the
jungle where lies the deadliest evil of all. When danger arrives, can Deven
learn to trust her and risk everything to save her?

    Introducing Deven Chandler

    Name: Deven Chandler
    Age: 32
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Netherlands
    Profession: Archaeologist/Professor
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Dutch
Describe his/her body build, skin tone, height and weight.
Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars: Tan, toned,
muscular build, 6’, rough hands from years of field work excavating
    archaeological ruins.
    Who is the
significant other in your character’s life?
Lauren Halpern, a graduate student from another college, is
doing field work on his excavation for credits towards her degree. There’s an
instant attraction the moment she arrives. The woman is hot, smart and sexy.
But he knows he should resist. As a professional, he shouldn’t allow it. There
are too many complications with the excavation—local authorities, potential
antiquity thieves, rumors of rebels in the jungle. The safety of the team and
his project is vital, his love life with a hot student is not priority. And now
there are a number of strange, unexplained events occurring around the ruins.
Not to mention his ex-fiancée has decided to join the team this time around,
and she has her own agenda besides adding to her collection at the museum.
    Tell us about this
    character, please.
Deven is rugged and sexy. A mix of outdoor adventurer and
smart professor, a bit like Indiana Jones. Although he was offered a
prestigious board position at a large museum, he turned it down to continue
traveling and working his projects in the jungle.
    How does your hero
    dress?
Archaeologist in the jungle, working on ancient ruins. Jeans or
khakis, no suits for this man. (unless he’s teaching at the university) He’s
    not afraid to get dirty.
    Does he scrape by,
    live comfortably, live extravagantly?
He makes a comfortable wage. He works
at a university in Boston, has a nice condo there and owns a cottage on Cape
Cod. He’s most happy when he’s traveling and digging in ruins.
    On what special skills
    does your character rely?
He’s highly skilled at his job, good at working
with students and negotiating with foreign authorities. He’s all scientist, but
rugged to the bone, devoted and determined to uncover the mystery surrounding
his current project. But his flaw is not seeing a supernatural element closing
    in on the ruins.
    What is your
    character’s family like?
He’s close to his family. His sister is also an
archaeologist, but more sensitive to the supernatural. She has experienced
ghosts at the ruins where she has worked. His parents live in the Netherlands.
They sold their home to provide college educations for their two children. Over
the years, Deven and his sister helped them purchase a home again.
    If someone from your
character’s past showed up, who would he most NOT want it to be, and why?

Sylvia, his ex-fiancée. Of course she decides to show up during this semester.
He can’t turn her away since her father privately funds most of these projects
for the college. He’s president of the board of the museum and part of the deal
is acquiring a collection of artifacts for his museum. Deven has a hunch Sylvia
has plans to acquire more than artifacts and that makes this trip more of a
complication than Deven wants to deal with. Especially since things are heating
    up between him and Lauren.
    What past event
causes your character the most fear?
In the jungle of a third-world
country, anything can happen. Danger can arise, natural and unnatural can
threaten lives deep in the jungle. Having local authorities shut down his
project is one fear, but having his team come to harm is another.  Antiquity thieves, paramilitary groups,
desperate locals, wild life, and more can all be a threat to a secluded
archaeological dig. But there’s another threat, a supernatural one…
    What is your hero’s
    biggest personal flaw?
He and Lauren are connected to the jungle in a
supernatural way that he refuses to acknowledge. His seeing-is-believing,
analytical mind denies what is obvious. And that could be dangerous for all of
    them on the team.
    What is your hero’s
    breaking point?
When Lauren goes missing. Can’t say more without a spoiler.

    About Your Writer

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Kathy is a bit of an adventure herself. She’s traveled a
bit, explored the Mayan ruins in Tikal, Coba, and Tulum. She spoke to an
archaeologist (not me), when she decided to write this story. He even gave her
a Mayan artifact. The ruins must have inspired this story. I’m trying to
determine what happened to an entire culture that seemed to have vanished
hundreds of years ago. She asked the question: What if two Mayan lovers who
lived back then were faced with a tragic life event? Could their love survive
and they find each other again?
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
Hmmm. I’m devoted to my work, okay, I’m a work-aholic, but
my job as an archaeologist and professor is important and rewarding. Sometimes
I’m stubborn and keep blinders on. I guess I need to be more open to the
esoteric world. I’m not comfortable with that. I’d rather go with facts and figures
    and proven hypotheses.
    What other character
from your book do you think your writer should write a book about, and why?
Perhaps my sister Sarita who’s working on a project in
Greece. Or the two young guys on the team Kyle and Justin.
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
An archaeologist likes to uncover treasures and solve
mysteries. It’s a way we can connect with cultures to the past and better
understand them.  A writer likes to tell
stories. The stories have to be told as they come to her, and she must love to
share them with others. It’s her way of connecting with people from the present
    and also the future.
    Is there anything
you’d like to say to your writer?
Thanks for writing my story and forcing me to face what I
swore I’d never have to. And for helping me find the woman I was meant to be
with always—my soul mate, my lover. From one work-aholic to another, get away
from your desk and work. Have more fun. When you return refreshed, write what
you’re most passionate about. You’ll always have new stories to share with
    readers and fans.

Alain from Snow in July by @KimHeadlee #RLFblog #PNR

Interview with Sir Robert Alain de Bellencombre

This interview is designed for your hero or heroine to tell readers about himself or herself.
    Tell us about yourself, please.
I am the second son of Comte Hugh FitzWalter, by his second wife, Comtesse Margaret. Formally I am called Sir Robert, but my kin and closest friends call me Alain. The “de Bellencombre” choice of surname refers to the village in which I was born, Bellencombre, in Normandy. My sword is pledged to the service of Duke William of Normandy, now styled King William of England by God’s grace through his victory at the Battle of Hastings. I fought in this battle too, as did my younger brother Étienne—though it shames me to admit that I was unable to save him from death at the hands of a ruthless Saxon foe.
    What inner doubt causes
    you the most difficulty?
In failing to protect Étienne, I failed our mother too, for
I had sworn upon my own life that I would guard his. Now I face a royally
commanded marriage, when all I would rather do is live and die by the sword,
and I fear that I shall not be able to protect my bride either. As a means of
dealing with my doubts, I have assumed the guise of a squire to scout the lady,
her lands… and the mysterious reports of hellish beasts and sorcerous acts that
the king’s regent has ordered me to investigate.
    Tell us about your
significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
The moment my eyes beheld my bride, her sweet angelic beauty
made me forget all my fears and doubts. And yet she seems to harbor grief and secrets—and
perhaps even doubts and fears—of her own. As a scout, I am accustomed to
ferreting out secrets, and so I shall learn hers, for I want nothing more than
to kiss away her grief and transform her tears into joy.
    What would that
    person say about you?
Lady Kendra would say that I am far too bold for a “squire,”
for when I am in her presence I am sorely tempted to act outside propriety’s bounds.
Thus far, I have restrained myself to offering her the gift of a single red
rose, but I fear even that was too brash a gesture, for it caused her to flee
my presence. I shudder to think how she will react when I confess my deception,
but as God is my witness, I shall do whatever it takes to make amends and earn
    her forgiveness.
    If someone from your
past showed up, who would you NOT want it to be, and why?
My older half brother, Philippe FitzHugh, has ever feared
that I covet the title and lands he inherited from our father. Nothing could be
farther from the truth, but he has never believed my assurances, and he has
undercut me at every opportunity—even to the point of luring my first fiancée
into his bed. If I ever see either Philippe or Marie in this lifetime, it shall
    be far too soon.
    Why are you happy (or
not happy) with the way your story ended?
Ah, fair reader, that is for you to discover. I shall not
spoil it for you except to say that Kendra and I are both happy with our
story’s ending… though it did not come without terrible peril to our honor, our
lives, and even our very souls.

    About the Writer

Kim Headlee lives on a farm in
southwestern Virginia with her family, cats, goats, Great Pyrenees goat guards,
and assorted wildlife. People and creatures come and go, but the cave and the
250-year-old house ruins—the latter having been occupied as recently as the
mid-twentieth century—seem to be sticking around for a while yet.
Kim is a Seattle native and a
direct descendent of twentieth-century Russian nobility. Her grandmother was a
childhood friend of the doomed Grand Duchess Anastasia, and the romantic yet
tragic story of how Lydia escaped Communist Russia with the aid of her American
husband will most certainly one day fuel one of Kim’s novels. Another novel in
the queue will involve her husband’s ancestor, the seventh-century proto-Viking
king of the Swedish colony in Russia.
For the time being, however, Kim
has plenty of work to do in creating her projected 8-book Arthurian series, The
Dragon’s Dove Chronicles, and other novels. She has been a published novelist
since 1999, beginning with the original editions of Dawnflight (Sonnet Books,
Simon & Schuster, ISBN 0671020412) and Liberty (writing as Kimberly
Iverson, HQN Books, Harlequin, ISBN 0373771347).
    YouTube video interview: http://youtu.be/DV5iKrEIROk
    What was your biggest
    challenge in writing this book?
Snow in July began in 1999 as a collaboration with a
longtime writer-friend, Patricia Duffy Novak. The plan was for her to write
Alain’s viewpoint while I contributed Kendra’s scenes, and we were going to
alternate between them. When life challenges prevented Patricia from
continuing, she gave me her blessing to finish the story, but since she had
already written about three chapters’ worth of Alain’s scenes, it took the
longest time for me to understand and internalize his character.
    Why did you choose
this character for the interview today?
I had already conducted an interview in Kendra’s perspective
and wanted to let Alain have his say this time.
    When writing the
book, what did you discover about this character that surprised you?
    The biggest surprise to me was how fast he fell for Kendra;
initially I had planned for the process to take longer for both of them. But
once he became smitten, then his central internal challenge revolved around
when and how he would reveal his true identity to her, which became a more
interesting storytelling choice while still balancing the sexual tension
    between them.
    Why should readers
who haven’t picked up one of your books before give this one a try?
Snow in July is a stand-alone story, so there’s no need to
worry about having missed backstory from another novel, and there’s no pressure
to invest in some unknown number of sequels. It’s a fun read with a lot of
heart and soul, it’s not graphic and so it’s even suitable for teens, and it’s
a great introduction to my style and the type of epic, legendary stories I love
    to create.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
Thank you so much for your interest in and support of my
    work!

    Title Snow in July

    Author Kim Iverson Headlee
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13 for combat
    violence and brief intimacy
    Sir Robert Alain de Bellencombre
has been granted what every man wants: a rich English estate in exchange for
his valiant service at the Battle of Hastings. To claim this reward, the Norman
knight must wed the estate’s Saxon heiress. Most men would leap at such an
opportunity, but for Alain, who broke his vow to his dying mother by failing to
protect his youngest brother in battle, it means facing more easily broken
vows. But when rumors of rampant thievery, dangerous beasts, and sorcery
plaguing a neighboring estate reach his ears, nothing will make him shirk duty
to king and country when people’s lives stand at risk. He assumes the guise of
a squire to scout the land, its problems, and its lady.
Lady Kendra of Edgarburh has been
granted what no woman wants: a forced marriage to an enemy who may be kith or
kin to the man who murdered her beloved brother. Compounding her anguish is her
failure to awaken the miraculous healing gift bequeathed by their late mother
in time to save his life. Although with his dying breath, he made her promise
to seek happiness above all, Kendra vows that she shall find neither comfort
nor love in the arms of a Norman…unless it snows in July.
Alain is smitten by Lady Kendra
from the first moment of their meeting; Kendra feels the forbidden allure of
the handsome and courtly Norman “squire.” But a growing evil
overshadows everyone, invoking dark forces and ensnaring Kendra in a plot to
overthrow the king Alain is oath-bound to serve. Kendra and Alain face a battle
unlike any other as their honor, their love, their lives, and even their very
    souls lie in the balance.

Stacy McKitrick author of Blind Temptation #RLFblog #PNR

Stacy McKitrick author of Blind Temptation answers five easy
questions to help readers get to know her better.

    Author Bio

Stacy McKitrick fell in love with paranormal romance,
decided to write her own and found her passion in life. She used to work in
accounting, now she spends her time with vampires, ghosts, and aliens. Born in
California, she currently resides in Ohio with her husband. They have two grown
    children.
    Who is your “book
boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
Gosh, I’ve had so many “book boyfriends” it’s kind of hard
to pick (it’s also hard to remember them all—bad me!). I guess the one that
stands out the most, though, would be John Matthew from the Black Dagger
Brotherhood series. I’ve liked him from the first moment I read about him and
loved, loved, LOVED his book (Lover Mine). Of course, now that I think about
it, I drooled a lot over Edward Cullen, too (the Twilight series introduced me
to paranormal romance and I was HOOKED!).
    Describe the perfect vacation.
The perfect vacation is one where I don’t have to cook or
clean. Haha! I love going on cruises because I can visit multiple places and
only unpack once (the hubby and I already have three booked within the next 17
months). But I would love to stay at a place on the beach so I can sit on the
porch (or open the windows) and listen to the waves at night. Provided it’s
    warm, that is!
    Tell us about your
    favorite toy as a child.
For my tenth birthday I got a Polaroid Swinger camera (see
this ad for it on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7k2uwJmwxo).
I LOVED that thing. Instant pictures!! Yeah, now it’s a joke, but back in 1967
it was a miracle! I think I used up a whole roll on my birthday just taking
pictures of my friends. It was the best birthday present, ever. Well… until my
fifteenth. That’s when I got my telescope (I loved that thing, too and still
    have it).
    What are your hobbies?
Lately, all I do is write and read (because it’s fun, what
can I say?). But I have been known to crochet a lot in the past. I’ve made so
many afghans, I ran out of people to give them to. Same with pot holders and
doilies. I crocheted a tablecloth for my friend that took me a couple of years
to complete. Thought I was going to go blind (or get arthritis). I pretty much
quit after that project (except for crocheting the occasional scarf). But I’m
sure if one of my kids ever decides to get married and have kids, I’ll be
crocheting a blanket for the little one!
    When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?
I like reading different stuff: paranormal romance, romantic
suspense, thriller, horror. Normally, my favorites are in third person with
multiple points of view. I say normally, because I do have some favorite series
that are in first person (urban fantasy or YA paranormal). I like some danger
in my books; they just make for a fun read. And the romances I read must end in
a happy ever after (no cliffhangers, please!!).

Dreading the prospect of losing her
position on the Vampire Committee, Victoria is forced to integrate with the
mortal population. She hasn’t stepped outside since her husband died over 40
years ago and the thought of being treated like the 17-year-old she resembles
frustrates her. But when she discovers that Ben, her hot & sexy driver’s ed
teacher, is blind, she gives into temptation and flirts. She never expects to
    fall in love.
Ben knows he shouldn’t get involved
with Victoria—she’s his student. But something compels him toward her. She
makes him feel young, alive, and more importantly, whole.
    Victoria would love nothing better
than to have Ben as a mate, but fears he wouldn’t want to be blind forever. As
she struggles to keep her identity hidden from him, an old acquaintance of
Victoria’s turns up and is willing to do anything to win her love, including
    disposing of her boyfriend.
