Welcome Nancy Gideon author of Prince of Fools, a new Paranormal Romance.Why did you write this book?
Prince of Fools is the third installment in my four book “House of Terriot” dark shapeshifter series. The Terriot clan was initially introduced as villains in my “By Moonlight” shapeshifter series, their warrior family ruled by the brutal iron-fist of Bram the Beast until overthrown by rowdy, rock-n-roll brawler son Cale in a move that divided the House and its twelve princes. The deliciously dark and dangerous brothers caught my creative attention, seducing me into giving them their own spin-off series and I’m totally loving each connected yet capable of standing alone book.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I read anything and everything but my go-to has a touch of suspense and a hint of the paranormal. Dean Koontz is my all-time favorite author.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
That would be a favorite couple, Eve Dallas and Rourke from J. D. Robb’s “In Death” series. Their relationship is constantly evolving and never ceases to fascinate. They inspired me to write my “By Moonlight” series with a continuing hero and heroine, something not unusual in Urban Fantasy but rarely done in Romance.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m getting ready to start Prince of Dreams, the fourth and final “House of Terriot” book which features the youngest prince, who prefers to use brains over brawn in the fight for his family’s survival until forced to decide between their path and his love for their enemy’s daughter. The heroine is a fortune teller whose gift is from a source she doesn’t understand and I’m loving researching the Tarot and other divination arts.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Prince of Dreams should debut in the spring of 2018 along with the reissue through Tell-Tale Publishing of my very first novel, Sweet Tempest, a historical regency written as Lauren Giddings. I’m planning at least one more book with Max and Charlotte, the fan favorite couple from my “By Moonlight” series as well as bringing back my “Bass Family of Texas” western historicals written as Dana Ransom. Lots of exciting and varied reading to watch for!

What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?
Depends on what I am in the mood for. When it’s cool and fall like, I go to homemade soups, chili or chowders with fresh homemade bread. Other times its pasta and red sauce with homemade meatballs or yankee pot roast in the slow cooker.
Who is your “book boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
Oh man do I have to choose one? *grins* My ultimate book boyfriend is Jamie from Outlander. I fell in love with his and Claire’s story so long ago and enjoy seeing the books come alive on TV now.
What are your hobbies?
I read a lot, cook/bake, take hikes with the family, bike if its nice out and watch my favorite TV/movie shows. I do enjoy going to the bookstore just to wander the stacks to see what is out and new to read as well.
When you read for pleasure, what kind of books do you choose?
Again my mood plays a part in choosing something to read. Lately I am binge reading Celina Summers Asphodel Cycle books which are Fantasy at its finest. Or I’ll grab a paranormal from one of my favorite authors. It’s a tossup with what I read and some days I am in crime/thrillers as well.
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Oh lordy, Rodrick’s ringtone would probably be something like Iron Maiden or something. He is a Harley driving wolf shifter who has the playboy reputation down pat.

Welcome Linda Mooney (writing as Gail Smith), author of Blood Tenderly, a new paranormal horror romance.Why did you write this book?
I saw a comment on Facebook where one author commented that, “Horror is not romantic.” She was responding to another person about whether or not certain horror movies also contain romantic elements.
This got me to thinking. First off, I love a challenge. So I asked myself, could there be a romance that had elements of horror? It took me a while to come up with an idea, and Blood Tenderly is my answer. But since it’s equal parts horror and romance, I’m releasing it under my horror pseudonym of Gail Smith.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Believe it or not, horror! Followed by non-fiction. Romance is a close third.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Sherlock Holmes. I like to challenge myself and see if I can’t deduce what he’s thinking or planning before it’s revealed. I especially love the TV and movie versions starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey, Jr.
What are you working on at the moment?
It’s a contemporary fantasy featuring a gargoyle, entitled Stone.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
This past year, my New Year’s Resolution was to 1) end a series, 2) continue a series, and 3) begin a new series. I’ve kept that resolution with 1) Neverwylde, 2) Predator of the Pines, Subwoofers Bk. 4, and 3) Sky Titan, Deities Bk. 1.
I plan to do that again. However, which books I’ll write to fulfill that remains to be seen. (It depends on what my muse tells me to do, LOL!)

Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?
I write romance, but within that genre, I’ve written paranormal, sci-fi/fantasy, and contemporary. Romance is such an open and diverse genre that allows me to explore pretty much anything I want. I love it.
How do you come up with ideas?
Ideas come from everywhere—an overhear snippet of conversation, an online quiz, a magazine article, a television show. Many times the ideas come not from one source but a combination of several.
The idea for my Hades’ Carnival series came from an online quiz about which carnival ride I was most like (a carousel). I started wondering about carousel animals and asking what if questions. What if they were really immoral warriors trapped by a curse? What if there was a special woman who could set them free? That idea became a seven book series.
My Salvation Pack series came from a random thought. What if five men separated from their pack and started their own? Why would they leave? What would be the consequences of their actions?
The possibilities are limitless.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?
Just doing it. I’m a pantser and not a plotter so I love to watch my characters’ stories come to life. I love creating worlds and stories. It’s such a gift. I’ve always said I feel as though I’m just taking dictation. All I have to do is show up and let my characters do all the work.
When did you write your first book?
I wrote my first book back in 1995. I’d always been a huge reader and decided one day that I could write a book. I wrote two actually, tried to find a home for them, and failed. I did get some great feedback from some wonderful editors who took the time to point out some problems with my writing technique. I put the stories away and forgot about writing until late 2003 when I started another book in response to an online contest. I didn’t place in the contest, but the book Annabelle Lee (recently rereleased as Uncovering Annabelle) was published in 2004. And the first two books I wrote—Discovering Dani and The Way Home—were eventually published as well.FUN
