A war between two worlds. A destiny she can’t escape…

When Betha transfers to her best friend’s university to study, life is looking hopeful.

Her dream to open up her own café could finally become a reality, and all she has to do is study, enjoy nights out, and try not to make her crush on the tasty and intense Self-Defence trainer, Carter, too obvious.

But her world is shattered when demons invade.

As powers Betha didn’t know she had begin to emerge, hopes of stopping the invasion fall to her, and Carter is tasked with keeping her alive.

Betha has no fighting ability, no matter how hard she tries, but everyone she knows is dying.

With Carter and her other friends surrounding her, will she be able to unlock the truth of her magic in time? Or will a cloak of darkness and despair shroud the land and destroy everything she loves?

    Interview with Betha

Thank you for agreeing to interview with us! Our readers would like to get to know you a bit better, and perhaps read the book your author wrote about you.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

That’s a hard one. I have so many great memories with Angie. It would be a toss-up between the time we went camping with Grandpappy or when Angie surprised me for my birthday. Both were amazing. When we went camping, we chased fireflies until they vanished into the dark. Not to mention, Grandpappy let us stay up as late as we wanted around the campfire. My mom had been a little strict with bedtimes for that’s probably the best one.

What does a perfect world look like to you?

That’s a hard one, I thought these were going to be easier questions. One where there isn’t such a divide between humans and others. Money was tight when I was growing up and I’d love if it single mom’s didn’t struggle as much.

What smell or scent makes you feel safe?

I miss my mom’s flora scent. She planted lilacs outside of the house we had, and smelling them always comforts me. I can picture her face from the last time she cut some of the flowers to put them on the table.

What color looks best on you?

You need to ask Angie about that one. I know she once told me purple makes my eyes pop, bu then she gave me a blue dress to wear once. *shrug*

What’s the first thing you tend to notice about a person?

Are they a nice person. Do they treat others well. That sort of thing. Don’t get me wrong, I see the muscles or the great smile, but personality is key.

Do you feel a need to fix problems that don’t directly involve you?

Yes, if I can help fix a problem I tend to jump in feet first. This has gotten me in some interesting situations. I don’t regret any of them, but I do wish I had listened to some advice I have gotten first.

    Do you have pets?

I never had pets growing up and now, it just doesn’t make sense. I once was called ‘mouse’ from someone but that might be a spoiler.

Anything you’d like to say to your author?

Dude, please don’t make my father a bad guy. I’d like to reconnect with whoever he is. *hint hint* Can we please meet him sometime soon?

Read the 80s #TimeTravel #Comedy Totally Rad Wormhole by Douglas J Eboch @dougeboch #RLFblog #YAIn Douglas J Eboch’s new teen comedy book, Totally Rad Wormhole, two high school nerds from the 1980’s accidentally open a wormhole to today and attend their own high school reunion.

Doug, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you hear! Please tell us about Totally Rad Wormhole.

Totally Rad Wormhole by Douglas J Eboch

    Genre Teen Comedy

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13

It’s 1989, and high school seniors Alex and Roger cannot wait to graduate. High school may be heinous, but they have big plans for adulthood. Then, something goes wrong with their science project – it rips open a hole in time, a tunnel to the year 2021. The boys journey into the future to find out how their lives will turn out. But when they meet themselves at their high school reunion, they are not pleased with what they’ve become and set out to change their fate. Their future selves, however, remember this journey and compete to influence the outcome.

What’s in your character’s pockets, backpack, or purse?

What does your character always carry?

Alex always carries his Sony Walkman. He’s an avid member of the Columbia House music club. In the opening scene, he’s listening to a Timbuk3 cassette.

Does your character carry money and if so, in what form (cash, credit, etc.)?

Alex and Roger got their parents to give them their allowance early, so they have $35 in cash to take to 2021. However, they’re not sure people in the future will still use money.

What does your character carry related to a job or calling?

Alex is in high school, so he carries his school books, wrapped with brown paper bag covers. But he also likes to draw, so he carries a sketchbook filled with his original comic book characters and fantasy scenes, many featuring an elf princess based on his secret crush, Jennifer Adams.

What else besides pockets does the character use to carry things?

The teenagers, Alex and Roger, bring an A-Team backpack with them to carry their supplies for their time travel adventure.

Has anything in your character’s pockets ever gotten them in trouble?

At one point in 2021, the teenagers try to show their driver’s licenses for identification, but since the birthdates indicate they would be in their late 40’s, they are held by security for using fake I.D.’s.

Has anything in your character’s pockets ever saved the day?

Alex uses a plastic bag from his lunch to collect dog poop after he sees everyone in 2021 keeping their dog’s poop. He figures it must be valuable, but in the end it really doesn’t help him at all.

Is It True: Love in a New World by Jessica E Subject @jsubject #RLFblog #NewAdult #boxset

Is It True: Love in a New World by Jessica E Subject @jsubject #RLFblog #NewAdult #boxsetPlay Is It True with today’s guest Jessica E Subject, author of Love in a New World, a New Adult Romance box set. This is a game in which authors answer yes and no questions. They can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.

First, tell us about your book.

An alien prince, a farm girl, two university students from a small town, and more are all ready to begin their lives as adults. They have everything planned out. But when drastic events crush their dreams, they must carve a new path. And they just might find unexpected love along the way.

Includes the New Adult Romances Beyond Reach, Accidental Romance, It Took a Zombie Apocalypse, Hey Santa, and bonus story Alien Kisses at Midnight.

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Genre: New Adult Romance, mostly Sci-Fi, but also some Contemporary
Now, tell us Yes or No for each answer below. Feel free to explain any (or none) of your answers.

    Is it true:

    this is your first book?
No. I have twenty-nine titles published under my name and a pen name I used to use. Love in a New World is a collection of four of my published stories with a bonus story.
this book is part of a series?
No. While all the books included are New Adult Romance, none of them are connected except for the bonus story.
you lost sleep while writing this book?
No. When I first started writing, I used to lose sleep with all the ideas in my head. Now, by the time my head hits the pillow, I’m zonked.
you did research for this book?
For the collection, I didn’t have to do any research as the stories were already written. But, I did do quite a bit research for some of these stories. With Accidental Romance, I still have a binder full of information about dairy farms, farm equipment, farming accidents, and amputations.
some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)
Yes, in that some characters are not from Earth, but other planets in three of the stories. Others might be zombies or cows, but those aren’t the main characters.
this book has more than one genre?
Yes. I mostly write Sci-Fi Romance, which combines those two genres. This box set specifically contains alien romances, a contemporary western romance, and a zombie apocalypse romance. All of them are New Adult, in that the hero and heroine are in their early twenties.
you speak more than one language?
Yes and no. I speak English. I can speak a bit of French, though I’ve forgotten a lot of what I learned in school. And with my daughter being a huge K-pop fan, I’ve learned a couple Korean phrases.
you grew up where you live now?
    Yes. Same city, different house.
    you love to read?
Yes. I have for as long as I can remember.
    you are never late?
Yes. At least I try. I’m usually super early, unless my children are being unusually slow.
    you love pizza?
Yes. Thin whole wheat crust with chicken, spinach, and goat cheese. Though, pepperoni or veggie pizza is great, too.
    you love sushi?
    No.
    you have a pet?
Yes. I have Great Pyrenees / Retriever cross. She’s big and hairy. I’ve had many other pets throughout my life, but she’s big enough, we don’t need another.

  • 5 Easy Questions

Candy J Starr author of Rock You @candyjstarr #RLFblog #NewAdult

Candy J Starr author of Rock You answers five easy questions
to help readers get to know her better.

    Author Bio

    Candy J. Starr used to
be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking
in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played.
“Screw you,” she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity – totally forgetting
that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.
    Candy has filmed and
interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She’s
seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She’s
seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.
    But, of course,
    everything she writes is fiction.
    What’s your favorite down-home
    family style meal?
I’ve got a recipe of a casserole my mum used to make with
macaroni, tomato soup, minced meat, pineapple and cheese all cooked up
    together. So simple yet delicious.
    What is your go-to meal
    when you dine out?
I’m pretty adventurous when I dine out and like to try new
things but lasagna is always a favorite.
    Describe the perfect vacation.
I have no fixed address at the moment and am always
travelling so vacations don’t really exist for me. I always think my perfect
vacation is a tropic beach holiday but then I remember I hate the sun! Really,
anything involving animals would be fantastic.
    Tell us about your
    favorite toy as a child.
I had a ride on tractor that I loved. I think, because my
granddad was a farmer and he’d let me ride on the tractor with him, I thought I
was pretty cool having a tractor of my own.
    When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?
I read widely. I love reading romance but I can be super
critical in my reading and sometimes it feels more like research than pleasure.
I do love historical fiction especially if I’m learning something while
    enjoying a good story.

    About the Book

    Title Rock You
    Genre New Adult Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G
Working for a cranky, old hermit in an isolated house sounds
like Ruby’s idea of heaven – but her boss isn’t quite what she expects.
Tex is a fugitive from the rock and roll world – a tragedy
abruptly halted his career. No one knows why he quit, no one knows where he is.
The two of them live in the same house, avoiding each other,
until Tex screws up, endangering their lives and forcing them to move into
close quarters. Suddenly, the idea of human contact seems more appealing, if
only with each other. The sanctuary they have built is enough for Ruby — the
man she grows to love is Tex the hermit, not Tex the rock star — but the
    outside world encroaches.
She thinks their fledgling love can’t shine brighter than
the rock dream but can Ruby bare to let Tex go?
