Meet Remy from The Mortal Vampire in the Mystic Desire Anthology by Suzanne Smith @Suzanneromance #RLFblog #Paranormal romance.Welcome Remy from The Mortal Vampire in Mystic Desire, a new Paranormal Romance Anthology by Suzanne Smith and others.

Introducing Remy

Age: Three hundred years and counting. He’s immortal

Gender: Male

Birthplace: Unknown, as he has amnesia. He was found bloodied and battered, barely alive in a California gold mine by his vampire maker Dr. Merlot.

Profession: None.

Ethnicity: Caucasian

Species (for scifi/fantasy characters): Pure vampire.

Please provide a physical description of your character.

Well over 6′ tall, with flawlessly smooth, pale skin, wavy, jet black hair and dark, piercing eyes. Athletic build, pretty buff, for being a vampire and having only a liquid diet.

Please tell us a little about your character.

Remy is a bit cocky and conceited. He has no qualms about sucking the life out of humans, who he considers inferior, until he meets the innocent and beautiful mortal Angela.

Who is the significant other in your character’s life?

How does your hero dress?

Nice, but casual. Lived in jeans and silk jerseys, linen shirts. He doesn’t rely on his clothes to attract attention or make a statement. He is irresistible and he knows it.

What are the qualities of his voice?

Deep, rich, sexy. Saturated with testosterone. The kind of voice that hits you right in the groin area.

If you could only hear this character’s voice (but not see him) what characteristic would identify him?

Does he scrape by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?

He lives comfortably in a spacious condo on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. He could live in a mansion if he wanted to as he has made profitable investments in property in Chicago’s prestigious Gold Coast area and is in fact quite wealthy.

Does he have children?

As a vampire, he doesn’t have children, but he feels a strong affection for kids. He has never been able to bring himself to harm a child. Unfortunately, everyone else is fair game.

What is your character’s biggest need at the beginning of the story?

Honestly, blood. He’s hungry. But when he meets Angela, that turns to lust, then, the need for intimacy.

How does your character handle challenges?

Well, because he is such a powerful vampire, the only person in his circle that presents a physical challenge is his maker, Dr. Merlot. It pisses Remy off a little bit to know that Merlot could best him in a fight. But, he has the good sense to avoid going toe to toe with Merlot. He is also faced with the personal challenge of not being able to consummate his love for Angela, which he deals with by sheepishly running away when they are on the verge of making love. He only leaves to protect her but she doesn’t know that, so he comes off as a bit of a jerk.

Who in his life has the power to hurt this character the most?

On an emotional level, the human he is in love with, Angela. On a physical level, his estranged vampire girlfriend Giselle.

He is afraid Angela might see him as unworthy or undeserving of love because of what he is. That wounds him deeply. Giselle has a jealous and vindictive nature and at one point in the story, she is much stronger than Remy.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions. Questions with more than one point should be considered one question. You may answer as many more as you like.

Why do you think your writer chose to write about you?

Frankly, who better to write about? I’m eternally young, smart, beautiful, powerful. But even with all that going for me, I’m still flawed, which adds an extra layer of interest.

Was there anything your writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you?

Yes. When all the dust settled we both found out who I really was.

What other character from your book do you think your writer should write a book about?

Maybe my maker, Dr. Merlot. Care to tell us why? Because anyone that has been around for over one thousand years has a story to tell.

Is there anything you’d like to say to your writer?

My story is just beginning.

Genre: Supernatural Romance

Remy is far from your typical vampire, though he doesn’t know it until he meets the mortal Angela. Once their eyes lock, not only does he feel physical pain for the first time in his existence, but he also sees a vision of himself in another world, one that is both seductive and frightening. Because Angela’s influence is so strong, he begins to consider the possibility that perhaps she is more than human after all. He tries to convince himself that she is a witch, attempting to cast a spell on him. But he knows that this theory makes little sense because he is immune to what the witches call “glamouring”, seizing control of their unwitting victims mind. Still, as his attraction for Angela grows, he becomes weaker and weaker, until he is certain that true death is only hours away.
From witches and warlocks to ghosts, psychics and more, the Mystic Desire anthology by BVS has something for everyone.

Suzanne Smith grew up on the northwest side of Chicago. She attended Wells High School, then North Park College, where she graduated with a BA degree, majoring in psychology. Currently, she lives in River Grove, a small suburb outside of Chicago. Her days are spent managing a very busy dental office in Chicago’s Gold Coast area. Her nights are mostly quiet, spent in the company of her two rescue cats, Zilly and H.K. and her dog Sammy, with an occasional night out with friends. She recently started writing, as a hobby, but soon came to love the freedom that writing gave her, freedom to go to any place or time she wanted. Freedom to breathe life into her characters. Writing is now an obsession.

Know the Heroine from An Awareness of Evil in Mystic Desire by Dee S Knight @DeeSKnight #RLFblog #anthology #psychic #PNRDee S Knight, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your heroine, but first, tell us about the book.

An Awareness of Evil in Mystic Desire by Dee S Knight

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Mystic Desire, is a collection of short paranormal romance stories. I have always been a big fan of short stories, both reading and writing them. For the reader it is a chance to read the work of a diverse group of authors. I have discovered some great writers from reading short stories. From the author’s prospective, it gives us a chance to experiment on something new, a different style, or something a bit more daring.

The themes are varied from native American Dream Catchers, to lustful, vampires. And from hot warlocks to a zombie apocalypse. There is something in this anthology for everyone, from soft and tender love, to hot passionate, kinky sex.

An Awareness of Evil – Dee S Knight

Only two things stand between evil and a small girl: the visions of Amanda McMasters and Detective Brendan Gilchrist. Neither can afford to be wrong.

Know the Heroine from An Awareness of Evil in Mystic Desire

Here are some fun questions to help us know your heroine.

It’s late, she’s bored. What does she do?

Professionally, Amanda is a fabric artist. She’s always tinkering with ideas and concepts that she can turn into stunning artistic pieces. But when she needs a break, she goes antiquing, tries a new recipe, gardens, or reads. Her commissions keep her pretty busy, however.

What kind of food would she impulse buy if hungry?

A Baby Ruth candy bar. She hates seeing them on store endcaps because she’s always tempted to buy!

Describe the kind of clothes she prefers to wear.

She’s one of those people who can throw on an old scarf and look stylish, so she looks good in most anything. When going out, she likes to wear skirts and colorful tops, with pumps. Yes, she’s old-fashioned that way. At home, comfort is paramount. She’s in tees or a long-sleeved knit shirt (Idaho gets cold!), sweatpants, comfy jeans, or cargo pants so she has plenty of places to stash all the things she likes to have handy.

Does she know how to fix things?

Yes. She’s been on her own since leaving school and has found that YouTube can help you fix almost anything. No clogged pipe is getting the best of Amanda McMasters!

She tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.

This is an example of no good deed going unpunished–she tried to do the right thing and it went wrong. She used her psychic capability to save a child. When word got out, she was deluged with calls and visits from people clamoring for her help. She didn’t know how to handle it. Panicking and overwhelmed, she packed up and moved. Not a very good response.

Know the Heroine from An Awareness of Evil in Mystic Desire by Dee S Knight @DeeSKnight #RLFblog #psychic #PNRHow does she act around children she doesn’t know?

She doesn’t “take” to children she doesn’t know, although she doesn’t dislike children in general. Children in need seem to have an affinity for her. This is the second child in danger who has reached out psychically for her help.

What is she like first thing in the morning?

Amanda is one of those dreaded “Oh look! It’s another beautiful day!” people. She likes her coffee first thing, but she’s perky even without it.

Can she use chopsticks?

No. Never seen a need for them.

Does she drink coffee? If so, how does she take it? If not, what does she drink instead?

Yes, and she drinks it black and strong.

What apps would she have on her phone?

She lives in a university town and would have an app for events at the school. Also, for several upscale fabric vendors she uses. Lastly, apps for galleries that feature her work.

Android or iPhone?

Earrings or unpierced ears?

Pierced ears. While in school she once thought about getting her tongue pierced but backed out.

Tattoos or unadorned skin?

Unadorned skin.

Personal vehicle or public transport?

She has a truck but she’s close enough to downtown to walk, which she does frequently.

Recycle or toss?

Tossing is easier. Her town has made so many rules for recycling that she has to force herself to keep up and separate her trash. But she does because deep down she thinks it’s the right thing to do.

Thanks for helping us get to know your heroine!

A few years ago, Dee S Knight began writing, making getting up in the morning fun. During the day, her characters killed people, fell in love, became drunk with power, or sober with responsibility. And they had sex, lots of sex. Writing was so much fun Dee decided to keep at it. That’s how she spends her days. Her nights? Meet Aaron Wolfsbane from The Sweetest Magic of All by Alice Renaud @alicerauthor #RLFblog #paranormalromanceWelcome Aaron Wolfsbane from The Sweetest Magic of All, a new paranormal romance short story from the Mystic Desire BVS anthology.

Aaron Wolfsbane

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Birthplace: Uxbridge, Greater London, United Kingdom

Profession: Teacher

Ethnicity: White

Species (for scifi/fantasy characters): Human

Please provide a physical description of the character.
Tall, fit, with tousled black hair. His eyes are as green and limpid as the water in a woodland brook. A tanned, handsome face, with a straight nose and strong jaw.

Please tell us a little about your character.
Aaron is a time-travelling warlock who has just come back from the 17th century. He has come to Wales to find out if there are still sea witches left, and if their old magic still works.

Who is the significant other in your character’s life?
He meets the love of his life, Sapphire, in the story. Sapphire is the last in a long line of sea witches… but she’s only an apprentice sorceress, and she’s having trouble with her spells.

How does your hero dress?

Aaron moves between the 17th and the 21st century. When in the 17th century, he dresses like a gentleman of the time: black doublet and breeches, riding boots, and in winter, a cloak. In the 21st century he wears clothes suitable for a teacher, as that’s his day job: smart-casual shirts and trousers, or jeans and T-shirts when not working. Like all warlocks, he favours black.

How educated is this character? Is he book smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?

Aaron teaches English literature. He is very well read and very knowledgeable about Shakespeare – which isn’t surprising, as he knows the man and drinks with him regularly.

What special skills does your character rely on?

His magical skills, which include light healing, finding lost objects, and time travel. His specialty however is seeing what is in men’s – and women’s – hearts. He can see into your very soul.

What is your character’s family like?

Aaron is the son of a medieval witch, Alys Wolfsbane, also known as Alys the Dark, who ran away from her abusive husband and escaped into the 21st century. Unfortunately she had to leave her baby son behind – Auric, Aaron’s elder brother. In the 21st century, Alys met Aaron’s father, and gave birth to Aaron. They were happy for a while, until one day she disappeared. She reappeared the following evening. She looked ten years older, and she had a little boy with her – Ariel, Aaron’s younger brother. It turned out that she had been abducted by the Faeries, and spent years in Faerieland. Ariel is half-Fae. So Aaron has a rather unusual family!

If someone from your character’s past showed up, who would he most want it to be, and why? OR who would he most NOT want it to be, and why?

He would like to see his mother again. After her mysterious disappearance and return, she and Aaron’s father tried to rekindle their relationship, but Aaron’s father couldn’t get over the fact that she was 10 years older and had had a son by another man. Eventually she went away for good, taking Aaron’s brother, Ariel, with her. Ariel returned years later, but she didn’t. Ariel told Aaron that she had gone back to Faerieland, for good. Aaron still loves his mum, but is angry with her for abandoning him. They have unresolved issues!

What is your hero’s biggest hopes and dreams?

To settle down, with someone who will love him as he is, and never leave him.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions. Questions with more than one point should be considered one question. You may answer as many more as you like.

Why do you think your writer chose to write about you?

I’m a time-travelling warlock, and I have an unusual family background, so I guess I have an interesting story to tell.

Why do you think your writer loves to write?

I think she loves to spend time with us, away from her work and family duties. We help her to relax and forget her worries.

What other character from your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?

I think she should write books about my brothers, Auric and Ariel. They’re very interesting guys. Auric is a medieval monk who uses his magical skills to fight demons. Ariel, with his Fae blood, is the most powerful warlock in England, and all the women fall under his spell.

Is there anything you’d like to say to your writer?

Don’t give up. Keep writing.

Alice was born and brought up in Brittany, Western France, her father was French and her mother British (from Wales). She moved to London, UK, in 1997, where she now lives with her husband and son. She works full time as a compliance specialist in a pharmaceutical company. She has been writing in her free time since she was 14. She got quite a few short stories published in UK magazines, before moving to longer fiction. She wrote three contemporary romance books, but didn’t find a publisher for them. She then realized that mermen, sea witches, and time travelling warlocks were a lot more fun than sheikhs and billionaires! Her first two paranormal romances did not find a publisher either, then she wrote A Merman’s Choice, which was published in January this year by Black Velvet Seductions. It is the first book in the Sea of Love series, a fantasy romance trilogy inspired by the landscapes and legends of Brittany and Wales. The second book in the series, Music for a Merman, will be out later this year. She loves reading and writing stories, and sharing them with anyone who’s interested!
