Know Cassandra Hudson from The Man of Her Dreams by Dee S Knight @DeeSKnight #RLFblog #PNR #mysteryDee S Knight, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your heroine, but first, tell us about the book.

The Man of Her Dreams by Dee S Knight

Genre Erotic romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Cassandra Hudson has traveled across country to a small town in South Carolina to find a tall man with deep, blue eyes that she’s only met in her dreams. She’s desperate to solve a mystery that involves her husband who has been dead for over two years. Trouble is, her dream man wants to solve the mysteries of her body more than help her find a solution to her problem.
When Dan Morgan stops to help a beautiful woman on the side of the road outside his hometown, he doesn’t realize that she will drag him into the world of the paranormal in an effort to find out what happened to her husband and the half million dollars he was accused of stealing. What he does realize is the strong attraction he feels for her, despite his distrust of anything mystical. And the undeniable power she holds over him using her sexy body as a lure.
Love will make it both easier and harder for them to find the answers they need.

Know the Heroine from The Man of Her Dreams

It’s late, she’s bored. What does she do?
Cassandra’s profession is creative and artistic—she is a renowned painter and fabric artist. She’s rarely bored because her mind is always teeming with ideas of what to do next. But she loves reading so when boredom does strike, she can pick up a good book. During the day, she would take a walk—she lives in beautiful San Francisco so walking refreshes the mind as well as inspired new ideas.
What kind of food would she impulse buy if hungry?
Pie. She loves a well-made pie and she indulges in peach pie on her first night in South Carolina.
Describe the kind of clothes she prefers to wear.
Loose, comfortable. When she’s working she needs to be able to move freely, so nothing tight or restrictive.
Does she know how to fix things?
Not really. She can change a lightbulb. As a widow she doesn’t have a man around to “fix” things. But her best friend lives next door and her husband is willing and happy to help with things Cassandra can’t handle.
She tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
She tried to persuade Dan Morgan to help her solve the mystery of her dreams. She’s been dreaming about Dan—a man she doesn’t know—for months. She knows he’s at the heart of why and how her husband died. But… Dan is a former policeman and a realist. He has no use for psychics or mumbo jumbo. She approached him in the worst way and ensured that he wouldn’t help.
How does she act around children she doesn’t know?
Cassandra loves children but she isn’t around them very much. She stands back and takes time to know them. She’s not one of those women who steps forward to hold the new baby first.
What is she like first thing in the morning?
Cassandra has a very even temperament. She wakes up easily and doesn’t get off kilter often.
How does she act around people who don’t know what she is?
Fame and the accompanying fortune is nice but it’s not what motivates her. Therefore, she is very down to earth and easy to be with and talk to. With Dan she might be a little too nice and accommodating, but that is something she has to figure out for herself.
Will she let a worker handle things or do it herself?
Sure. She’s not a control freak. But she does have pretty exacting standards, so that doesn’t mean that she won’t examine the task, whatever it is, when it’s finished.
Earrings/piercings/tattoos or unadorned skin?
Pierced earrings. She uses accessories when she dresses to go out but not on a daily basis.
Personal vehicle or public transport?
In San Francisco, public transport whenever possible. But she drove her car across country in her search for the man of her dreams!
Recycle or toss?
Recycle, definitely! It’s for the good of the planet, and why waste things that can be reused?
Thanks for helping us get to know your heroine!

Know the Heroine from Murder is Messy: Space Janitor One by Julia Huni @HuniJulia #RLFblog #CozyMystery #SciFiJulia Huni, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your heroine, but first, tell us about the book.

Murder is Messy: Space Janitor One by Julia Huni

Genre Science Fiction Cozy Mystery
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG
In space, no one can hear you clean.
Most people want fame and fortune, but not Triana Moore. She prefers programming maintenance bots and eating vendo food in the solitude of the space station’s control center. But when a highly connected security agent interrupts her routine with stories of murder and missing bodies, Triana can’t ignore him; it’s cooperate or find a new job. A girl has to pay the rent, even on a crappy studio compartment.
Since working with a shiny detective beats a shuttle dirt-side, Triana lends her programming skills to Agent O’Neill’s investigation. Together, they find more victims and evidence of a major cover-up. A killer with a clean-up crew means money—lots of money, and connections—just the kind of notice Triana tries to avoid. Following the clues leads them to the wealthiest levels of the station, uncovers long-hidden secrets, and puts the killer on notice.
It will take all Triana’s technical talents, most of O’Neill’s connections, and some really excellent croissants to stop the murders, save her job, and ultimately, her life.

Know the Heroine from Murder is Messy: Space Janitor One

Here are some fun questions to help us know your heroine.
It’s late, she’s bored. What does she do?
Triana loves to watch videos, especially early 21st century sci-fi shows like StarTrek, Battlestar Galactica, or Guardians of the Galaxy.
What kind of food would she impulse buy if hungry?
Triana will eat just about anything and everything. Her favorites are noodles from Hot-Good Noodles, pierogis from the Happy Poel, and chocolate from Dolce Amour. Or really, any chocolate.
Describe the kind of clothes she prefers to wear.
Her favorite clothing is her Station Kelly-Kornienko maintenance coverall. It’s drab brown, with a station patch on the shoulder, but it’s soft, comfy, and stain resistant. It also doesn’t require any jewelry or accessories.
Does she know how to fix things?
Triana can fix anything computer related. She’s not so good at fixing dinner.
She tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
Triana tried to hack her holo-ring so the station operating system wouldn’t be able to track her. Unfortunately, this meant doors would no longer open, lights turned off when everyone else left the room, and she couldn’t order noodles at her favorite restaurant.
How does she act around children she doesn’t know?
She likes to think she’d be like the cool aunt who takes her sister’s kids places their parents would never let them go. In reality, there are very few children on SK2, so she’s kind of uncomfortable around them.
What is she like first thing in the morning?
Triana is quiet until she gets her first cup of coffee, but she’s not cranky. She’s also not particularly peppy.
How does she act around people who don’t know what she is?
Nobody really knows what she is. So, either her whole life is an act, or she just acts like herself. Even she isn’t sure which is true.
Will she let a worker handle things or do it herself?
She’s really independent. Most things she wants to do herself, but sometimes she manages to screw them up.
Earrings/piercings/tattoos or unadorned skin?
Triana doesn’t have any piercings or tattoos, but, in her world skin and eye color can be changed by an esthetician. Triana’s roommate, Kara, does skin and hair mods, and in the second book of the series, she learns eye mods. She loves to practice on Triana.
Personal vehicle or public transport?
She lives on a space station, so neither. Although in book 2 they go dirtside, ride a HyperLoop and later rent a bubble.
Recycle or toss?
Always recycle. The station is green!
Thanks for helping us get to know your heroine!

Fiction Furbaby: Meet Bartholomew a Racoon Familiar from Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes by Michelle M Pillow @MichellePillow @RobsRescues #RLFblog #PetsMichelle M Pillow, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We support all furbabies, real life or fictional. We want to know all about your Fiction Furbaby, but first, please tell us about your book.

Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes by Michelle M Pillow

Genre: Cozy Mystery Paranormal Romantic Comedy
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G
Welcome to Lucky Valley where nothing is quite what it seems.
Lily Goode wasn’t aware she had an inheritance waiting for her in the form of a huge Victorian house in Lucky Valley, Colorado. Life might finally be coming together for her. That is if you don’t count the endless home repairs, dealing with eccentric Aunt Polly who claims they’re both witches, and Nolan Dawson the handsome home inspector who seems to have it out for her, then, sure, life is grand. Oh, and not to mention the strange hallucinations and garden gnomes who are far more than lawn ornaments.
If mysterious accidents don’t do her in, then the rebellious gnomes just might. With the help of Aunt Polly, it’s up to Lily to discover who’s sabotaging her new home and trying to drive the Goodes out of Lucky Valley once and for all.

Meet Bartholomew from Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes

Full name: Bartholomew
Gender: Male
Species: Racoon
Physical description: A rather large racoon. He’s been eating well.
Relationship to main character: Her brother’s new familiar.
Relationship to the villain/antagonist: He doesn’t have time for that sort of thing.
Where this furbaby came from: He’s been living in the walls of the Victorian house Lily Goode just inherited.
What inspired you to create this character?
As one often does, I was watching adorable animal videos on the internet and saw one of a racoon riding on the windshield of a car. It reminded me of the incredibly well-fed racoon that would come each evening to eat the food I’d put out for the stray cat who moved into my yard. He’d sneak a hand forward and grab a piece. The cats didn’t care.
What does the main character think about this furbaby?
I don’t Lily Goode is thrilled by the idea of wildlife living in her new home.
How do other characters react to or interact with this furbaby?
Dante Goode, the heroine’s brother, gets off to a rough start with Bartholomew. I can’t give too much away because of spoilers.
What is this furbaby’s natural habitat?
The walls and floor of the Goode’s third story storage area.
What about this furbaby will readers like, and why?
What’s not to love about any furbaby? Bartholomew is mischievous and does his own thing. He also causes a little trouble.

About Lord Winston, Lady Annabelle, Princess Fiona, and Bunny

Fiction Furbaby: Meet Bartholomew a Racoon Familiar from Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes by Michelle M Pillow @MichellePillow @RobsRescues #RLFblog #PetsThis post is called Fiction Furbaby, but perhaps your own pet does not have fur. If you have a pet that has fins, wings, scales, or other features, please tell us about them here.
Winston and Anna are English Bulldogs and are about 12 years old now. Fiona is a Schipperke, and full of adorable tricks to con people out of treats. Bunny is a stray cat who adopted us.
Which, if any of the pets in your writing are modeled after your own pets? In what way?
Winston and Anna are English Bulldogs. In the series, Warlocks MacGregor, one of the uncles has an English Bulldog he enchanted to never age. I think a lot of us wish we has that kind of magic.
What do your pets do when you are writing?
Fiona patrols the house and makes sure everything is in order. Bunny’s domain is the garage and front bushes. I’m pretty sure she just rolls around in dirt all day collecting fur-leaves. Winston is content to find strange places to sleep (or he tries to sneak into my husband’s office). Anna is a resident of under my desk.
What’s the most unusual pet you ever had?
We rescued a baby duck. I taught him how to swim in the bathtub.
Describe a toy or favorite item your pet loves.
Fiona is my playful one. She hoards all the toys. I count five in a pile on her bed right now.
