Larue: Storm Lake Box Set a new #Contemporary Romance by @LiviaQuinn #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

    About the Author

D.C. native, Livia Quinn, now lives and writes by the bayou in Louisiana. She’s written ten books in her Storm Lake series, both paranormal and contemporary romance. While working as a plant manager, computer trainer, mail lady, professional singer, and small business owner she has stocked her brain full of great characters and fodder for her stories, and she can’t wait to share them with her readers.

    Interview with Livia Quinn

Why did you write this book?
I wanted to offer my first three books in the Larue series of Storm Lake East so readers could get them together at a special price, $4.99 for now. It includes Hard Days Knight, Her First Knight and Merry Christmas, Baby. The books revolve around the military and law enforcement men and women of Larue, their families and their missions to help their community at large.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I enjoy both paranormal and contemporary romance with a little suspense thrown in.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I just finished Deborah Harkness’ All Souls Trilogy and I’m totally in love with Matthew Clairmont, her big, awesome, sexy, intelligent, tender, charming and powerful vampire.
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I’m currently finishing up Take these Broken Wings which is on preorder at all bookstores. It’s the fifth book in my Destiny Paramortals series. You can start the series with book 1, Storm Crazy, for free.
Please tell us about your latest book.
    Heroes who care…
Hard Days Knight   Luc Larue knows how it looks when the sexy cop and her partner respond to a silent alarm at the grocery where he stopped for a six-pack. Luc’s job with KPI requires certain…attire and equipment. The tall, dark and deadly looking mercenary Delilah Burke confronts at the robbery scene is sexy as sin, but is he a hero or a con? He just seems too good to be true. Then, trouble arrives from his past and Del is faced with a choice to believe the evidence against Luc, or trust her heart.
Her First Knight  “Take ‘em off, Tucker. Tucker. Tucker…” Ridge Romano is an inventor, Ranger, mentor, the consummate planner. So how did he wind up on stage in nothing but his trousers and tie beside two cover models, and a hundred women screaming at him to take it off? It had seemed like a recipe for harmless fun. One curious CEO follows a gorgeous redhead onto the conference floor. Add a hundred romance writers at a “meeting”. Toss in some false assumptions. Throw out a lifetime of good behavior and Ridge is up to his Special Forces tattoo in manure. Now to make sure no one finds out.
Merry Christmas, Baby  Larue social media is all atwitter at the return of their hometown movie idol, Ducane Beauregard Larue at the only place to celebrate Christmas Eve. Nothing could make Buffy happier than delivering some surprises and helping the people she loves find love. A Christmas Eve miracle confirms what she already knows, that with a little nudge, all her love ones’ happily-ever-afters will happen in the not so distant future.

Share your story of Love at First Sight by @liviaquinn #RLFblog #romance

Hard Days Knight by Livia Quinn.
    She’s the one!
When Officer Del Burke arrests Luc in his “Special Forces” costume at a
    burglary, he falls hard.
And though Delilah is not one to be influenced by a pretty
face, a rock hard body and stellar set of biceps, her insides are fist pumping
and shouting, “It’s him. Don’t you let
    him get away.”
Do you believe in love at first sight? I do.
On our first date after knowing my husband for only a month,
we went dancing in the middle of the afternoon.
With the jukebox playing, “May I have this dance for the rest of my
life” the eventual Mr. Quinn stopped dancing, looked down into my eyes and said
(incredulously) “Woman, I just about love you.” Of course being a man, and a
first date and a moment he wasn’t prepared for, he took it back, for a month or
so. But he told me later that the very first day he spotted me in the diner, he
was thunderstruck and actually said to those sitting with him, “Where did she
come from?” (Well, he actually said,
Where did that thing come from? Lol)
Still almost forty years later…we’re still a couple and he
says he’s just as in love as ever.
Vicinity, luck, match makers can all play a part in getting
a couple together but I’ve experienced magic and when it happens, it’s quick,
    recognizable, and it can last.
Do you know a true love
    at first sight
    story? Please share it.

Is he a real hero, or just a pretender?
The tall, dark and deadly looking mercenary Delilah Burke
confronts at the robbery scene is sexy as sin, and apparently “saved the day”,
but is anything about him real?
Ex-Navy officer Luc Larue knows how it looks when the sexy
cop and her partner respond to a silent alarm at the grocery where he stopped
for a six-pack after work. Luc’s job with KPI requires certain…attire,
    and equipment.
Once she finds out what he does for a living, and that he’s
not a real hero, she probably won’t agree to see him again, much less hear his
    proposition.
Each day reveals more to Del of the enigma that is Luc
Larue. The guy is golden, perhaps too good to be true. Then, trouble arrives
from out of his past and Del is faced with a choice – does she believe the
evidence against Luc, or trust her heart?

    About the Author

Internationally known author, Grace Augustine, was born in
Shelby, Montana and grew up in Cut Bank, Montana (dubbed as The Coldest Spot in
the Nation). Her work career has taken her from title and abstracting to
administrative assistant church work to co-owning a small town weekly newspaper
to her current profession as a floral designer.
Grace thinks of herself as a “Jill” of most trades
and is not afraid to learn new things. “If you can’t learn something new
each day, there’s something wrong,” she says.
The ideas for her Acorn Hills series stem from her growing
up years as well as the issues she has had to overcome along the way.
    “I’ve developed a new romance category…for the over 50 crowd…I’m
calling it the salt and pepper genre. My books deal with real life issues,
overcoming adversity, maintaining a positive outlook, and so much more. Just
because we are 50 yrs old or older doesn’t mean that life stops. We all still
want attention and affection and adventure! We want to experience all life has
to offer. We use our age as wisdom to share with those around us. We are
sexual, sensual, and sensible,” Grace explains.
Augustine was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in July of
2003. Her thoughts on that “It may slow me down, but if I can at all do
it, I will. Sitting and feeling sorry for yourself isn’t the answer…living
your life with an open, joy-filled heart is.”

Ridge from Merry Christmas Baby by @liviaquinn #RLFblog #romance #holiday

Livia Quinn shares details about the creation of Ridge
Romano in the books, Her First Knight, and her new release, Merry Christmas,
    Baby

    About the Book

    Title        Merry
    Christmas, Baby (A Knights Christmas)(Book3)
    Genre     Contemporary
    Romance (Military)
    Author    Livia Quinn
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
It’s a Christmas weekend full of love and Larue
social media is a twitter at the return of their hometown movie star, Ducane
Beauregard Larue, and a visit by Raptors quarterback, Gino Manelli, at the only
place to celebrate Christmas Eve—the Romanos’. Catch up with the characters
from Larue and Thunder Point, and as a bonus get a peek into the lives of
    upcoming characters.
Beau hates Christmas. It reminds him of what he can’t have.
He’s been avoiding homecomings, and the biggest reason is unavoidable this
Christmas – Madison Hart, who has loved Beau for most of her adult life.
Whenever rumors surface about him returning home, Madison hyperventilates at
the prospect of seeing him again.
Samantha Larue’s baby is overdue and everyone is
hovering including Jed, who ended their relationship last summer because kids
    weren’t “in his future”.
Bad guys don’t scare Delilah Burke but Luc’s mother and five
sisters have her stalling on setting a date to marry the man she loves.
This Christmas nothing could make Buffy Romano happier than
delivering a few surprises and helping the people she loves find love.
Then, a Christmas Eve miracle confirms what she already knows – that with a
little nudge, all her love ones’ happily ever afters will happen in the
    not so distant future.

    Introducing Ridge Romano

    Name: Ridge Romano
    Age: 33
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Virginia
Profession: Ex-military, Billionaire CEO, veterans advocate
    and cover model
Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Caucasian, Italian
Describe his/her body build, skin tone, height and weight.
Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars: Ridge has shoulder
length black hair and dark eyes, perpetual tan, six-feet two. His rigid diet
keeps his body hard and ready for a photo shoot. His smile lights up the room,
but it doesn’t happen often enough.
    Who is the
significant other in your character’s life?
    Lana “Buffy” Calloway, famous
fashion model and photographer who saw Ridge as the face of her model/ad
agency. She has a couple surprises for him at their Christmas Eve party.
    Tell us about this
    character, please.
Ridge was a child prodigy, a genius inventor, who was given
his own laboratory in the Army to do his bionic research. After his brother
stepped on an IAD and lost his battle with depression, Ridge devoted his life
to improving the lives of veterans. He created two companies that provide state
of the art prostheses to veterans at no charge, then sold them to put together
a consortium of private companies which will take over the care of veterans
from the government, if he can get
the vote past Congress. Ending up on the strip bingo stage at a romance
convention could destroy everything he’s worked for. (Her First Knight)
    How does your hero
    dress?
Most of the time Ridge is in a dark well-cut suit and tie. He’s a
serious guy and doesn’t have time to relax (except for that time he showed up on
the strip bingo stage, and later in a loincloth…).
    What is your
    character’s viewpoint on wealth?
He is a generous man to whom much has been
given — wealth, intelligence, and means, and feels a duty to support
responsible people who match his vision, and those in need.
    Does he have children?
    Ridge never
planned to be married. He was laser focused on his vision for the consortium,
but now that he and Buffy have been married for two years, could be it’s time…
    Is your character
    involved in his community?
Yes, Ridge feels like all the experiences in his life led
him to this place, to Buffy. But community to Ridge means more than just Larue
and Buffy’s large family, though he’s come to love them all. It also includes veterans
and their families and a huge group of romance writers and readers who continue
to support his vision for our nation’s defenders.
    How do others
perceive your character based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
This is a common theme in the Under-Cover Knights. Each man
is more than just a handsome face or six-pack abs. They see no reason why their
hard earned fitness shouldn’t be used to sell products, movies or novels, even
romance novels; and if it supports a higher cause, even better. (Besides
there’s the added perk of working with beautiful women.) They are men of character
with personal interests and the drive to contribute to their community, for Luc
it’s teens and for Ridge, veterans.
    How emotionally
expressive is your character to others?
As you can imagine, as a child geek
who was totally into his tech toys, Ridge was more of an introvert. And though
he has loved his wife since before he even thought he had a chance with her,
he’s only recently even kissed her in public. I think he likes it.
    BONUS:
    Ridge, what would you
most like to communicate about the men at Knights Production, Inc.?
I’d just like to see these men, and women, get the credit
they deserve for their hard work as models and with their involvement in the
community. I was guilty of being short-sighted myself before I met Buffy. They
    have my utmost admiration.

    About Your Writer

    Why did you decide to
allow this author to tell your story?
I met Livia while she was researching Luc and Delilah’s
book, Hard Days Knight. Back then, I was merely Luc’s boss but after she found
out the extent of veterans’ needs in this country, she got a vision for what
I’ve been trying to accomplish with the consortium. After grilling her on her
true motivation and making sure she could represent my agenda and tell the
story of how Buffy and I met miraculously,
without totally embarrassing me, I agreed.
    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Livia said she was awed by the
overwhelming need of veterans and what I was trying to accomplish with the
consortium and wanted to get the word out. And, well…she said she was
especially taken with my impromptu strip-tease.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
<He rubs his dark jaw, thinking> The strip bingo
contest could have been much worse, but that’s not her fault. Livia didn’t
expose my faux pas; a nice lady in the audience snapped a picture with her
phone and it went viral. It was serendipity.
    What other character
from your book do you think your writer should write a book about, and why?
Jed Stern, definitely. Being a cop and a fitness fanatic,
he’d be a great addition to our portfolio. So far he’s adamantly refused. Jed
acts like he’s so tough but if you could have seen him around Samantha for the
last six months… and during the Christmas party, he was a hero.
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
I don’t think she has any choice. I found her while she was
driving on the Interstate, but she says characters are always following her to
the tub or on the road, begging to have their stories told. For a while she
thought she was crazy but now she just accepts it as a calling.
