What was your first published book?
Knight of Runes was the first book I published in 2011.
Tell us about your writing space or home office.Do It Write: Where Ruth A Casie writes @RuthACasie #RLFblog #Medievalromance
I’m fortunate. I have two writing spaces. With all my children on their own, I took over my younger daughter’s room and made it my executive office. It has everything I want except I feel a bit isolated.
Last year, I put a library table in the living room and set up my laptop. It’s easier to get to the kitchen.
    Anything special about your space?
I get a HUGE cup of tea, put on my writing playlist, and start up the fireplace. I’m in heaven.
What do you love most about that area?
I love my office. I love the red wall paper, the Berber carpet, the bookcases. I love everything about that room. I’ve written some of my best stories there.
I also love my space in the living room. The fireplace most of all.
What would like to change about your home office?
I don’t think I would change much in my office, although I would like to put more bookcases in and organize the room more.
If money was no object, what would your home office look like?
I would make my office look more like a library. I would raise the ceiling and put bookcases up the wall with rolling ladders to get to the top.
What’s the last book about writing that you read?
Verbalize by Damon Suede was the last book about writing that I read.
What do you like to read for relaxation?
I like to read adventure and mystery books in addition to romance.
Do you have an author newsletter?
I have a monthly newsletter that lets my subscribers know what I doing, writing and where I will be. I also highlight other authors whenever I can.

Hi – I’m Ruth A Casie and I write historical and contemporary romance. You might be wondering what I’m about. Sit back and let me tell you.
I’m happiest when I’m telling stories either chatting in a group or writing them down. I love to put my hero and heroine in tough situations and dare them to work it out—together, always together. They haven’t disappointed. Oh, they complain but in the end their love and relationships are stronger than ever.
Here are five things you probably don’t know about me.
    1. I filled my passport up in one year.
    2. I have three series. The Druid Knight stories are a historical time travel series. The Stelton Legacy is historical fantasy about the seven sons of a seventh son. Havenport Romances are stories set in a small coast Rhode Island town. I also write stories in the connected world the Pirates of Britannia.
    3. I did a rap to “How Many Trucks Can a Tow Truck Tow If a Tow Truck Could Tow Trucks.”
    4. When I cook I dance.
    5. My Sudoku book is in the bathroom. I’m not saying anything else about that.
My stories feature strong women and the men who deserve them, endearing flaws and all. Their stories will keep you turning the pages until the end. I hope my stories become your favorite adventures.

The Bastard-Book 3 in The King's Cousins-by Alexa Aston @AlexaAston #RLFblog #NewRelease #medievalromanceAlexa Aston, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

The Bastard (The King’s Cousin’s Book 3) by Alexa Aston

    Genre medieval romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings) PG-13
The three young children of Adelard de Blays—two sons and a daughter—are separated when their father commits treason against the King of England. Follow each of their stories in The King’s Cousins, a new trilogy by Alexa Aston.
1342 A.D. – Spirited away when his father Adelard de Blays commits treason, bastard Quill Cardon longs to reclaim his family name when he reaches manhood and reunite with his half-siblings, Landon and Katelyn. Winning the king’s tournament at Smithfield and saving the life of Prince Edward leads to Quill being awarded an earldom and an estate of his own—but what he most desires is Lady Tristanna Willoughby, a woman he can never have.
Tristanna has served for years as a lady-in-waiting to Queen Philippa and has waited for the return of her betrothed, Jarrett Marsden, from the war in France. Tristanna dislikes Jarrett, who chases anything in a skirt, and longs to wed Sir Quill Cardon, an honorable knight who has captured her heart.
When circumstances change, Quill and Tristanna have a chance at happiness—until a man seeking revenge threatens to tear them apart.
Each book in The King’s Cousins Trilogy is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.
    Series Order:
    Book #1: The Pawn
    Book #2: The Heir
    Book #3: The Bastard
For those who enjoy romance on the high seas, you might enjoy the standalone prequel to The King’s Cousins Trilogy. God of the Seas is part of the Pirates of Britannia World and features Godwin de Blays and Melisent Winchester, great-grandparents to Quill, Landon, and Katelyn.
Why did you write this book?
This is the last book in my medieval romance trilogy The King’s Cousins, so I needed to finish up the last story of the final sibling and give Quill his HEA.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I love reading just about anything, but I’m partial to romance, suspense, and thrillers.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Miss Elizabeth Bennet rocks my world!
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m deep into my first-ever Regency trilogy, The St. Clairs, which will come out in spring and summer of 2019.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Devoted to the Duke releases April 25. Midnight with the Marquess comes out May 23. Embracing the Earl is a June 20 release. And in July, a secondary character in these books, the Earl of Merrifield, will get his own story told!

The Heir (The King’s Cousins Book 1) by Alexa Aston

    Genre medieval romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13
The three young children of Adelard de Blays—two sons and a daughter—are separated when their father commits treason against the King of England. Follow each of their stories in The King’s Cousins, a new trilogy by Alexa Aston.
1340 A.D. – After his treasonous father’s execution, Landon de Blays is raised alongside his cousin, the future King Edward III. Landon constantly fights to prove his own loyalty to the crown and becomes England’s youngest knight. Rewarded for bravery in battle, the king gifts Landon with a title and estate, something he’s longed for over the years as much as restoring his family’s good name.
Cassiana Campion raises five brothers and nurses her ill father while managing Briarwood, her family’s estate. When her father succumbs to old battle wounds and she receives news her last surviving brother has been killed in battle, Cassiana has nowhere to turn—until Landon de Blays arrives with a missive naming him the new Earl of Briargate—and Cassie’s bridegroom.
The couple fall in love but are torn apart by circumstances beyond their control before their wedding can take place. Landon can live without an earldom and Briarwood but he can’t conceive of a life without Cassiana. Will Landon unlock the secrets that can bring them back together?

Why did you write this book?
The Heir is the second book in my medieval romance trilogy, The King’s Cousins (which can all be read as standalones).
Landon de Blays, the hero, lost everything when he was a young boy, thanks to his father’s treason. He’s heir to nothing as a mature man. I needed for Landon to prove his loyalty to the king and win back everyone’s respect (and a title, estate, and a spirited heroine, as well).
What is your favorite genre to read?
I enjoy all kinds of romance and thrillers.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
My heart adores Pride and Prejudice’s Elizabeth Bennet!
What are you working on at the moment?
Now that The King’s Cousins is completed, I’m working on a brand-new trilogy. It’s my first time trying my hand at Regency romance!
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Next month, I’ll wrap up The King’s Cousins with Quill’s story—The Bastard. He’s the oldest of the three de Blays’ siblings and has to accomplish the impossible to get his HEA.

1338 A.D. – Exiled to a convent after her father’s execution for treason, Katelyn de Blays has fleeting memories of the man she adored and the outside world. When her brother’s search leads him to finding Katelyn after many years, she is eager to leave with Landon and begin a new life. Why did you write this book?
I’d just completed my 10-book medieval romance series The Knights of Honor and wanted to continue to write in this era. I was asked to contribute a book to the Pirates of Britannia World series and wrote God of the Seas, which came out January 29. The publisher asked that I tie my pirate book to something else I’d written, so I decided to make Godwin de Blays, my pirate captain, the grandfather of three siblings–Kate, Landon, and Quill. All I had to do then was write a trilogy for them! Thus, The King’s Cousins was born.
What is your favorite genre to read?
    I love thrillers and romance.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I always come back to Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’ve finished up The King’s Cousins and will be working on a new trilogy for 2019 now.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I’m trying something new with The King’s Cousins. Since people (ME!) love to binge-watch on Netflix, I know readers like to binge on complete series. I’ll be doing rapid release for The King’s Cousins, with rollout dates of February 12, February 27, and March 5. That means readers can finish this trilogy in a short time (and also try God of the Seas, if they wish).
