Would you surrender the pleasure of lust to become a lady of chastity?

Darien Avery followed Caitlyn Sinclair from England to Australia, memories of their intense love affair fresh in his mind. When they arrive he quickly learns he isn’t the only man in this new country who’s infatuated with the breathtaking, blonde-haired beauty.

Women are turning up dead, victims to the worst kinds of depraved acts—women who fit Caitlyn’s description—and every clue to the murderer leads back to Darien’s family. Frantic to save Caitlyn’s life, he sends her up north to her family, hoping to free her from the murderer’s grasp. But she never makes it there. When he receives word that her dead body has been found, his heart breaks and he throws himself into a life of debauchery and sin as punishment for failing to save the woman he loves.

When yet another murder occurs, Darien believes he will be accused of the crime, so he flees. He finds himself in Jarvisfield—the same town where Caitlyn’s family lives. But he soon learns that the murderer who has been butchering blonde-haired, green-eyed women has followed him there.

He’s in for even more of a shock when he discovers that his beloved Caitlyn is not dead, and has in fact, been living in Jarvisfield for months. This time he will protect her. However, Caitlyn is having none of it. She believes Darien has betrayed her, and she won’t fall for him again. No longer is she his lustful lover, but rather a lady of chastity, determined to live an independent life—one without Darien.

Guests would be business associates, or those he wanted to entice into visiting his brothel. There would be plenty of alcohol and food.
How does the hero feel about being this particular party, and what body language is he displaying that gives it away?
He would be there for business but always on the lookout for the murderer he was hunting.
Is he more likely to mingle or remain aloof?
He would most definitely mingle so that he could talk to his guests and see if they knew anything about the murders.
If he drinks, what is his drink of choice at this party?
Whiskey, though would drink brandy if available.
How much drink is his usual?
Not a heavy drinker as he needs to keep his wits about him.
The hero figures out where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party?
He would be going to meet an informant or to spy on one of the guests. If Caitlyn was also at the party he would definitely be sneaking away with her.
Is he likely to latch onto a friend and stay with him/her and ignore others, or is he the friend that others latch onto?
He doesn’t usually latch onto people, nor allow them to latch onto him. Caitlyn is the only person he appears close to.
If someone picked a fight at this party, how is the hero going to handle it?
He would most definitely break it up, even if it meant knocking those fighting to the ground himself.
Is the hero the one most likely to get tossed out of the party, or the one who does the tossing?
He would most definitely do the tossing. He owns a brothel so is accustomed to handling rowdy patrons.

He would know when to leave.

    The Hero’s Stressed Out Side

How does the hero handle it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls him aside when he was blameless in a situation?
He has a way with words and is not easily intimidated by the police or anyone else. He would answer what questions the police asked him short and quick and get them off his property as quick as they arrived.
How does the hero react to hearing a scream?
He would run directly towards it, his heart in his mouth until he could be certain the scream hadn’t come from Caitlyn.
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing that crosses his mind?
He would most definitely assume one of those involved was the killer he was chasing, maybe caught in the act.
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing he does?
He would rush over and demand to know what was happening and who they were.
This hero attempts to rescue someone and realizes that he is in over his head. The odds are against him and there is no way out. He is going to get his butt handed to him. What does he do?
He would use his wits to try and escape, and maybe some dirty fighting if needs be.
The hero runs into the one person from his past he wanted to avoid. He can’t get out of the situation and must interact with him/her in some way. What does he do?
He is polite and asks why they were in Australia.
Someone younger than the hero is in charge of the situation, and they are handling it badly, perhaps bungling things. How does the hero deal with it?
He jumps in and helps whilst offering advise.
The hero is in physical pain but must bear up under it and keep going. What does he tell himself in order to get through the situation?
He would tell himself that he had to protect Caitlyn from the killer chasing her no matter the cost.
What mentor’s words come to mind in a bad situation?
Without the woman he loves, nothing else matters.
What lesson from his past gets him through a stressful situation?
He takes up smoking cannabis to deal with the stress of thinking he sent the woman he loves to her death.
