Storm Crazy (Book 1) is Free #paranormal by @liviaquinn #RLFblog

Storm Crazy (Book 1) by Livia Quinn is currently Free.

    About the Author
Livia Quinn is a DC native transplanted into the heart of Louisiana. Inspired (or terrorized) by the severe weather in the South, she started writing her Storm Lake series the summer of Katrina. She’s written 9 books based in the communities of Storm Lake – Destiny, Larue, and Thunder Point.
    Interview with Livia Quinn
Why did you write this book?
I began writing stories about the communities surrounding Storm Lake in 2005. Storm Crazy started out as a cozy mystery about a rural carrier (and her wacky customers) who finds a dead body in the clubhouse. Back then, it was called Murder on a Bad Male Day ;) but it morphed into a cozy paranormal as my heroine struggled to control the crazy things happening around her and her impending quickening as a storm fairy. The whole dead body in the clubhouse thing took on bigger implications when it was connected to her brother’s missing genie bottle. And things just kept happening…
What is your favorite genre to read?
I can’t say I have a favorite although I love the edge and the extra escape value paranormal adds to a story. When I need to relax though, I’ll pick up a historical romance since I can resist the urge to analyze them knowing I couldn’t write one if I wanted to. Magic happens everywhere to some extent, so on my lake you’ll find both of these genres. Storm Lake West – Destiny – has a community of supernatural defenders, while in Larue and Thunder Point (Storm Lake East) you’ll meet the military heroes of my contemporary romance titles.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Well, Jamie Fraser aside, it would have to be Roarke, J.D. Robb’s hero. Here again, the paranormal/futuristic element of this series lends so much to his persona. He’s got it ALL, including his own planet. And it doesn’t hurt that a Roarke and Eve book comes out several times a year.
What are you working on at the moment, and what will we see from you in coming months?
Take These Broken Wings is book 5 in the Destiny Paramortals which will be out in a couple months as well as the sixth book, Bad Moon Rising, toward the end of the year. In addition, the next book in the Storm Lake East series, Eye of the Storm is coming up in the Fall.
Please tell us about your book.
I’m Tempest Pomeroy, and my human job is delivering the mail. To say I was having a bad day would be like saying Katrina dropped a little rain on New Orleans. First, River’s amphora went missing—that’s genie bottle to you mere-mortals. I know— the names right? We were just lucky we didn’t end up as Black Cloud and Little Sprinkle. Or Flash and Flood. With my hair, I’d have been Flash. I’m also a Paramortal like the rest of my family. Or I’m supposed to be. If it wasn’t for a few little talents I’d think I was adopted.
On my first delivery, a scantily clad doctor triggered a hallucination when we touched. Pheromones? An old trouble-maker had a stroke but I saved the old fart with a zap of my Zeus juice! It was the first time I’d actually called my power on purpose, and our hunky new sheriff almost saw me use my magic—big no-no. He showed up again when the owner of Flowers by Dick complained that I’d dropped a seventy-five pound box on his foot. Yeah, I did, but it was an accident. He put his hand on my butt and my hands sorta… slipped. Then things really went downhill.
I discovered a dead body while rescuing River’s bottle from a locker as the sheriff arrived again. Now, my brother’s missing, my mother’s AWOL and the sheriff and my ex-lover are squaring off like yard dogs staking a claim on a poodle. I am no one’s poodle. Aurora says all this chaos is a sign of my quickening power and things are only going to get worse.
Oh, and the sheriff? He thought he’d settled in a normal small town to raise his teenage daughter. Like Mayberrry. We’ll see how that turns out. Things had better settle down soon, ‘cause I’m about to go Storm Crazy.

Share your story of Love at First Sight by @liviaquinn #RLFblog #romance

Hard Days Knight by Livia Quinn.
    She’s the one!
When Officer Del Burke arrests Luc in his “Special Forces” costume at a
    burglary, he falls hard.
And though Delilah is not one to be influenced by a pretty
face, a rock hard body and stellar set of biceps, her insides are fist pumping
and shouting, “It’s him. Don’t you let
    him get away.”
Do you believe in love at first sight? I do.
On our first date after knowing my husband for only a month,
we went dancing in the middle of the afternoon.
With the jukebox playing, “May I have this dance for the rest of my
life” the eventual Mr. Quinn stopped dancing, looked down into my eyes and said
(incredulously) “Woman, I just about love you.” Of course being a man, and a
first date and a moment he wasn’t prepared for, he took it back, for a month or
so. But he told me later that the very first day he spotted me in the diner, he
was thunderstruck and actually said to those sitting with him, “Where did she
come from?” (Well, he actually said,
Where did that thing come from? Lol)
Still almost forty years later…we’re still a couple and he
says he’s just as in love as ever.
Vicinity, luck, match makers can all play a part in getting
a couple together but I’ve experienced magic and when it happens, it’s quick,
    recognizable, and it can last.
Do you know a true love
    at first sight
    story? Please share it.

Is he a real hero, or just a pretender?
The tall, dark and deadly looking mercenary Delilah Burke
confronts at the robbery scene is sexy as sin, and apparently “saved the day”,
but is anything about him real?
Ex-Navy officer Luc Larue knows how it looks when the sexy
cop and her partner respond to a silent alarm at the grocery where he stopped
for a six-pack after work. Luc’s job with KPI requires certain…attire,
    and equipment.
Once she finds out what he does for a living, and that he’s
not a real hero, she probably won’t agree to see him again, much less hear his
    proposition.
Each day reveals more to Del of the enigma that is Luc
Larue. The guy is golden, perhaps too good to be true. Then, trouble arrives
from out of his past and Del is faced with a choice – does she believe the
evidence against Luc, or trust her heart?

Destiny — is it Mayberry or Middle Earth?
To say I was having a bad day would be like saying Katrina
dropped a little rain on the Gulf Coast. My name is Tempest Pomeroy. I’m a mail

I saved the old grouch with a zap of my Zeus juice, only to

I’ve denied my heritage as a Tempestaerie for too long. Now,
my mother’s out of pocket, my brother’s missing and the sheriff thinks one of

Ridge from Merry Christmas Baby by @liviaquinn #RLFblog #romance #holiday

Livia Quinn shares details about the creation of Ridge
Romano in the books, Her First Knight, and her new release, Merry Christmas,
    Baby

    About the Book

    Title        Merry
    Christmas, Baby (A Knights Christmas)(Book3)
    Genre     Contemporary
    Romance (Military)
    Author    Livia Quinn
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
It’s a Christmas weekend full of love and Larue
social media is a twitter at the return of their hometown movie star, Ducane
Beauregard Larue, and a visit by Raptors quarterback, Gino Manelli, at the only
place to celebrate Christmas Eve—the Romanos’. Catch up with the characters
from Larue and Thunder Point, and as a bonus get a peek into the lives of
    upcoming characters.
Beau hates Christmas. It reminds him of what he can’t have.
He’s been avoiding homecomings, and the biggest reason is unavoidable this
Christmas – Madison Hart, who has loved Beau for most of her adult life.
Whenever rumors surface about him returning home, Madison hyperventilates at
the prospect of seeing him again.
Samantha Larue’s baby is overdue and everyone is
hovering including Jed, who ended their relationship last summer because kids
    weren’t “in his future”.
Bad guys don’t scare Delilah Burke but Luc’s mother and five
sisters have her stalling on setting a date to marry the man she loves.
This Christmas nothing could make Buffy Romano happier than
delivering a few surprises and helping the people she loves find love.
Then, a Christmas Eve miracle confirms what she already knows – that with a
little nudge, all her love ones’ happily ever afters will happen in the
    not so distant future.

    Introducing Ridge Romano

    Name: Ridge Romano
    Age: 33
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Virginia
Profession: Ex-military, Billionaire CEO, veterans advocate
    and cover model
Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Caucasian, Italian
Describe his/her body build, skin tone, height and weight.
Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars: Ridge has shoulder
length black hair and dark eyes, perpetual tan, six-feet two. His rigid diet
keeps his body hard and ready for a photo shoot. His smile lights up the room,
but it doesn’t happen often enough.
    Who is the
significant other in your character’s life?
    Lana “Buffy” Calloway, famous
fashion model and photographer who saw Ridge as the face of her model/ad
agency. She has a couple surprises for him at their Christmas Eve party.
    Tell us about this
    character, please.
Ridge was a child prodigy, a genius inventor, who was given
his own laboratory in the Army to do his bionic research. After his brother
stepped on an IAD and lost his battle with depression, Ridge devoted his life
to improving the lives of veterans. He created two companies that provide state
of the art prostheses to veterans at no charge, then sold them to put together
a consortium of private companies which will take over the care of veterans
from the government, if he can get
the vote past Congress. Ending up on the strip bingo stage at a romance
convention could destroy everything he’s worked for. (Her First Knight)
    How does your hero
    dress?
Most of the time Ridge is in a dark well-cut suit and tie. He’s a
serious guy and doesn’t have time to relax (except for that time he showed up on
the strip bingo stage, and later in a loincloth…).
    What is your
    character’s viewpoint on wealth?
He is a generous man to whom much has been
given — wealth, intelligence, and means, and feels a duty to support
responsible people who match his vision, and those in need.
    Does he have children?
    Ridge never
planned to be married. He was laser focused on his vision for the consortium,
but now that he and Buffy have been married for two years, could be it’s time…
    Is your character
    involved in his community?
Yes, Ridge feels like all the experiences in his life led
him to this place, to Buffy. But community to Ridge means more than just Larue
and Buffy’s large family, though he’s come to love them all. It also includes veterans
and their families and a huge group of romance writers and readers who continue
to support his vision for our nation’s defenders.
    How do others
perceive your character based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
This is a common theme in the Under-Cover Knights. Each man
is more than just a handsome face or six-pack abs. They see no reason why their
hard earned fitness shouldn’t be used to sell products, movies or novels, even
romance novels; and if it supports a higher cause, even better. (Besides
there’s the added perk of working with beautiful women.) They are men of character
with personal interests and the drive to contribute to their community, for Luc
it’s teens and for Ridge, veterans.
    How emotionally
expressive is your character to others?
As you can imagine, as a child geek
who was totally into his tech toys, Ridge was more of an introvert. And though
he has loved his wife since before he even thought he had a chance with her,
he’s only recently even kissed her in public. I think he likes it.
    BONUS:
    Ridge, what would you
most like to communicate about the men at Knights Production, Inc.?
I’d just like to see these men, and women, get the credit
they deserve for their hard work as models and with their involvement in the
community. I was guilty of being short-sighted myself before I met Buffy. They
    have my utmost admiration.

    About Your Writer

    Why did you decide to
allow this author to tell your story?
I met Livia while she was researching Luc and Delilah’s
book, Hard Days Knight. Back then, I was merely Luc’s boss but after she found
out the extent of veterans’ needs in this country, she got a vision for what
I’ve been trying to accomplish with the consortium. After grilling her on her
true motivation and making sure she could represent my agenda and tell the
story of how Buffy and I met miraculously,
without totally embarrassing me, I agreed.
    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Livia said she was awed by the
overwhelming need of veterans and what I was trying to accomplish with the
consortium and wanted to get the word out. And, well…she said she was
especially taken with my impromptu strip-tease.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
<He rubs his dark jaw, thinking> The strip bingo
contest could have been much worse, but that’s not her fault. Livia didn’t
expose my faux pas; a nice lady in the audience snapped a picture with her
phone and it went viral. It was serendipity.
    What other character
from your book do you think your writer should write a book about, and why?
Jed Stern, definitely. Being a cop and a fitness fanatic,
he’d be a great addition to our portfolio. So far he’s adamantly refused. Jed
acts like he’s so tough but if you could have seen him around Samantha for the
last six months… and during the Christmas party, he was a hero.
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
I don’t think she has any choice. I found her while she was
driving on the Interstate, but she says characters are always following her to
the tub or on the road, begging to have their stories told. For a while she
thought she was crazy but now she just accepts it as a calling.

A blast of white lightning sent its
brilliance pulsating across the walls and ceiling of Brenna’s cabin. How did a
person overcome a fear of storms when the elements, especially lightning, were
a frequent reminder of their potential to change a life—forever.
Brenna had a pamphlet that listed
solutions ranging from keeping all the lights on to crawling into bed with a
family member. There was one she hadn’t understood quite so well until
now—distraction. Specifically, finding a naked man in your living room.
Yep, that worked. She watched the
dazzling flickers dance over the taut muscles of his backside creating a shadow
on the wall behind him, a perfect imitation of 007 down to the signature crouch
    and the… finger pistol.
She’d eased out from between him
and the tall cabinet, where he’d pressed her—for her protection, of course—but
he continued to track possible threats with his gun, back and forth. His
reflexes had been un…friggin’…believable. She raised her eyes to his, trying
not to ogle his fine physique. “Put the ‘gun’ away, big guy. We’re safe.”
He did not seem to be pretending.
One could hardly masquerade with his lack of costume. No, he really was James
Bond in secret agent mode. In an exaggerated English accent she purred, “James,
darling, it’s time for bed.” His gaze swiveled to hers and his smile kicked up
    at the corner.
If anyone had told Brenna that she
would be holding back laughter and oblivious to the raging tropical storm
outside… well, even she couldn’t have predicted this night’s events…
