Why did you write this book?

Before I answer, you must be aware that this latest release of mine is a rivisitation of the first book of my most successful series, the Virtus Saga. This book was originally published as The Sex, but after 10 years from its release, I felt the need to rewrite it in my current style.

Yes, because when it was first written, I was just starting out as an author, so my style, plot construction and character building were…primitive at best :-)

This is also why the full title of this novel is Virtus Sex, The Sex: Author’s Cut.

Now the story is much more fluid and the characters practically jump out at you—that’s how real they are!

To understand about Virtus Sex, you must first understand about the saga itself.

It’s an Erotic Dark Fantasy Paranormal Romance Series that Explores the Dark and Light Sides of Power and Love between Three People.

But it’s also the Making of a Trio: the Virtus Saga shows how power and love can be equally shared.

The way it all starts and progresses, nothing is as it seems. The characters are more vivid and three-dimensional. The plot is more linear and direct. The story is more detailed and articulate. The sex scenes are more torrid and satisfying. All in all, this new book 1 of the Virtus Saga gives readers a better grasp of the series and it’s a highly recommended starting point for all those interested in dark fantasy romance.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Mystery, crime, historical non-fiction. Interestingly enough, romance isn’t one of my favorites when it comes to reading, maybe because I prefer to imagine it on my own rather than have someone else tell me about it J

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Sebastian Flyte from Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited is one of my favorite characters.

He’s so good-looking, rich, spoiled and self-destructive that it’s impossible not to like him. Just the way he is makes people fall under his spell, and none more than Charles Ryder do it with more passion or conviction. So much that Charles tries to save Sebastian from himself, a short-lived attempt given how uncaring Sebastian is about his fate.

That’s the charm of this character for me. He fascinates me, much as he did Charles, in spite of his shortcomings.

Or maybe because of his shortcomings.

The way Waugh portrays Sebastian, his vices open up a new world for Charles, a world he almost couldn’t imagine before his path crossed with Sebastian. And it changed his life.

Mine was also changed after meeting Sebastian Flyte. Not just because of him or of his relationship with Charles. Mostly because I learned that sometimes, when one is on the path of self-destruction, there can be no rescue no matter how much we love that person.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m working on Virtus Game, The Game: Author’s Cut, Virtus Saga Book 2. This is another rivisitation in the Virtus Saga, as I’m about to complete the rewriting of the second book in this series. Already, a part of this work has been released last year in Not In The Game, The Game: Deleted Scenes, Virtus Saga Plus, which contain many previously unreleased sex scenes. But Virtus Game has a broader sweep and will carry forward the story of my three heroes—Duncan Caldwell, Christopher Templeton and Ylianor Meyer—all the way to Duncan becoming the new Leader of the High Council.
