Welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about the story your author wrote.

    Genre Women’s Fiction Contemporary Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
It is the grand opening of The Perfect Pitch. All the pieces fall into place until Francine’s diagnosis of breast cancer, throwing their lives upside down. While Amy and Jason deal with the reaction from her family to their interracial relationship, Toni finds herself in another overbearing relationship with Pelicans third baseman Gary Thompson.

    Introducing Amy Mills

    Please tell me about yourself.
    Age: 39
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: Staten Island, New York
    Profession: Real Estate Broker
    Ethnicity: Irish American
    What do you look like?
I am average height and weight with shoulder length blonde hair that I can wear either as its natural curls or straightened, along with big green eyes.
Who is the significant other in your life?
Jason Maddock, who is everything I ever wanted in a man.
What kinds of things do you always carry (in pockets or purse)?
The question should be what don’t you carry in your purse. Besides the usual: wallet, sunglasses, lipstick, tweeter and cellphone I always have a notebook, calculator (yes I know there’s one on my cell, but I am a bit old fashioned) a half a dozen pens, a tape measurer and a mini flashlight. Yes, my handbag is heavy!
    What is your family like?
I’m lucky to have both my mom and dad still with me. They live in the same house that my mom grew up in. My dad always called us the three musketeers.
    Are you close to family?
We were a tight knit family. We did everything together. When I was younger, we went to church every Sunday, sitting in the first row and after mass we would go out to the diner for breakfast with a few of the other parishioners my parents were friendly with. I became closer to my dad as I got older. My mom was great but she was very opinionated, always giving me the negative aspect on things, whereas my dad was always positive.
Can you keep a secret? Why or why not?
You bet. In The Perfect Pitch, when Francine, Toni and I found the hidden basement, it took everything in my power not to reveal the secret, despite how dangerous things turned out. It was important to all three of us that we keep this a secret until we found out what it was all about.
    What is your biggest need?
I’m looking for acceptance from my mother in my relationship with Jason. I need to keep my independence and not lose my identity by being in Jason’s shadow.
How emotionally expressive are you to others?
To strangers, I give them nothing. I’ve always been like that for as far back as I can remember. My best friends Francine and Toni can read me like a book. They can read through any expression on my face and also by the tone in my voice. Now with Jason a part of my life, I have opened the emotional door to him. But generally, I’m a private person.
What would you like to tell your writer?
I love the life you have given me. My only wish would be that you wouldn’t have let me mother be so hard on my relationship with Jason, which is putting a strain on my future plans. I love my friendship with Francine. She is such a wonderful friend. I would love to have my own book. I’m here if you need any ideas.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?
The first thing is to never give up on love. Once you find that one person who makes you happy, don’t let anyone defer you because of their views.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions. Questions with more than one point should be considered one question. You may answer as many more as you like.
Why do you think your writer chose to write about you?
I think she loves my carefree attitude and my dedication to my friends.
What do you wish your writer had not told others about you?
I wish she didn’t make it known that I favor Francine over Toni.
Was there anything your writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you?
I feel the writer was surprised that I became involved in an interracial relationship.
When your writer is writing about you, what do you think makes your writer the most happy? What makes your writer the most sad?
I feel the writer is happy that I finally found a man who I love and respect. Arguing with Toni over simple things makes my writer sad. She hates to see me get upset.
Why do you think your writer loves to write?
I think my writer loves to write as a way to keep focus in her life.
What do you wish your writer would write next?
I’d love her to try her hands on a time travel or historical. I’d love to see how she would handle writing outside her box.
What other character from your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?
Of course I would love her to write a book about me. But I think if she wrote a book about Toni, it would be a hit since Toni is a very interesting character.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your writer?
Keep writing and creating wonderful characters. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be able to be a part of her story.

Bucket list of Richie Raggalio from The Perfect Pitch @karencino #RLFblog #WomensFiction RomanceLet’s meet Richie Raggalio from The Perfect Pitch, a Women’s Fiction Romance by Karen Cino. Welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

The Perfect Pitch by Karen Cino

    Genre Women’s Fiction Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG17
Francine and Richie Raggalio are high school sweethearts. Francine owns her own real estate business and Richie pitches for the New York Pelicans. Richie hurts his shoulder while pitching the first game of the season, not the way he wants to end his career. When Francine is left an abandoned restaurant from someone from her past, things begin to spiral out of control. The mystery of a hidden basement brings Francine and her friends together to do their own investigation, which puts them in the middle of a smuggling ring. Will Richie get through his surgery so he can retire on top of his game? And will Francine and her friends solve the mystery of the hidden basement?
When someone dies, we say they “kicked the bucket.” Therefore, a list of things that a person wants to accomplish, places to go, situations to experience, and so on have become known as a “Bucket List.”
    Age: 39
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Staten Island, New York
    Profession: Professional Baseball Player
    Ethnicity: Italian American
Please provide a physical description of yourself.
I’m your typical athlete. I’m tall, slim and muscular. I have wavy brown hair that I let grow past the nape of my neck during the off season, and I’m clean shaven.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m living the dream. I’m a professional ballplayer, the top pitcher in my field. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, the love of my life. I have a family who is supportive of me, and a mother who can be quite overbearing. I live comfortably and take care of my parents too.
Who is the significant other in your life?
My Francine. When I met her she was in foster care. I took a bit for my parents to get use to her, but once they did, they fell in love with her too. She treated my parents as if they were her own. She is a fun loving, caring person who stood by me from when I threw my first pitch in high school.
If you haven’t made a bucket list before, perhaps now would be a good time. Who knows? It might inspire another book. While you’re at it, how about telling us about some of your other favorite things? Here are the questions.
    What is your birth order?

    The one and only!
Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.
From as young as I can remember, I always walked around with a baseball in my hand. A ball and glove were my best friends.
Describe your favorite food and how it’s prepared.
Now that’s a touch question. I love Italian food. Eggplant parmigiana is on top of the list and next homemade manicotti. I don’t cook as my mother is the chef in the family when it comes to authentic Italian food.
Tell us about your best friend.
My pal is Jason. Jason plays professional football. We don’t get together as much as we like because of our careers.
What are two places you would like to visit before you die, and why?
Italy and Hawaii. Italy because my parents still have relatives who live in Tuscan and Palermo. And Hawaii because it’s one of the only states that I haven’t been to, plus the beaches are said to be beautiful.
Where is a place you would never like to return, and why?
Even though Alaska is beautiful, I would rather be in the warm climate than in the cold.
Who is someone you would like to meet, and why?
I’d love to met Tom Seaver. Like him, I won the CY Award. He is a legend and I was told by my high school coach that I had the same form as him.
Who is someone you would like to avoid, and why?
There is no one in particular, but as a whole, I would like to avoid the haters and bullies of the world. I’ve seen so many peers lose their confidence because of hateful words. I try my best to only stay around positive people.
If you could time travel to any date, what would it be, and what would you do there?
I’d love to travel back five years to game seven of the World Series. I’d like the chance to throw a curve ball instead of the fastball. To this day I still can’t believe I threw a one hitter, and that hit was a homerun, causing us to lose 1-0.

How do others perceive your character based upon looks? How true is this assumption?
Fans treat him like he’s some sort of God. The girls/women throw themselves at him, calling him hot and sexy.
Does your character care about those assumptions?
Richie takes the time to interact with the fans and kindly turns the women down. He feels that if he weren’t a baseball player he wouldn’t be getting this much attention.
What is your character’s biggest need at the beginning of the story?
Richie needs to get through the game and hope that he didn’t do any damage to his aching shoulder.
What is your hero’s biggest hopes and dreams?
Richie feels that he has everything he wants. He hopes that his career will continue on for a few more years and dreams of retiring and helping Francine raise a family.
If your character could make any one thing happen, what would it be?
Richie and Francine wants so much to have a child. That would be the one thing in his life that he wants and feels is missing.
What is your hero’s biggest personal flaw?
Richie is a perfectionist. If he doesn’t have a good game and his pitching is off, he is hard on himself.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions.

Why do you think your writer chose to write about you?
The writer loves baseball and is impressed with pitching, especially that her daughter was a softball pitcher since she was seven.
What do you wish your writer had not told others about you?
I would have appreciated if she didn’t show others that I’m still a mama’s boy.
Was there anything your writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you?
It was a surprise to me that I was able to handle having shoulder surgery and dealing with the outcome.
When your writer is writing about you, what do you think makes your writer the most happy? What makes your writer the most sad?
I feel the writer loves to see me happy and loves seeing me on the pitcher’s mound. Having an argument with Francine and having Francine doubt my love for her, puts a frown on my writer’s face.
Why do you think your writer loves to write?
I think she likes writing about real issues and finds writing as a way to display her underlining emotions.
What do you wish your writer would write next?
I wish she would write another story about me dealing with my family years later.
What other character from your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?
I’d like to know more about Toni. She was a a corky character that I would love to know what she’s up to.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your writer?
I’d like to thank her for creating me into a good guy, who is so full of love and compassion. She choose a great friend for me in Jason. I wish her the best of luck as she continues to write and create more characters.
From Karen Cino: How did you feel about Francine keeping the secret about the restaurant basement from you?
I have to say I have never gotten so mad at Francine like that before. I was so worried, after the fact. I couldn’t believe she kept that big of a secret from me. But I didn’t let that mar our relationship. Francine and I never sent to sleep mad at one another.
