What happens when a resentful man is determined to win the favor of the one you love?
For years Atol Livia has desired only one thing—to move north, far from the corruption of his father’s business, and start a life with the woman he loves. That is if Anna Jenel can look past his poverty and will agree to marry him. When Anna informs him that she gave her heart to him long ago, never once caring about any wealth he might have, he’s elated. But their plans are delayed when Atol’s father is found murdered. This man is determined to gain possession of Anna’s cattle station and the orange sapphires hidden there.

She tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
She tried to find work for some of the peasant children in the area. Once when she was stealing food from the pantry to take to them, she was seen by one of the kitchen staff. She explained it away that she’d been under a lot of stress and ate for comfort. No one questioned her as it was the normal behavior for her and she was able to go back about her way.
How does she act around children she doesn’t know?
She always wants to help, so she’d be looking for any way to make them comfortable or able to succeed.
What is she like first thing in the morning?
She’s not really a morning person, but finds that changes in the beauty of North Queensland, living on an operational cattle station
How does she handle things when in a “proper” social situation?
She’s not very good at biting her tongue, despite being able to go through the other motions with considerable ease.

She tends to take care of herself and others even though she has servants regularly on hand

No, I only write Historical Romance.
How do you come up with ideas?…
Most of my characters are based on people I’ve known throughout my life. Some ideas also come from my own family’s history when they moved to Australia.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?…
I love that I get to portray Australian history to my readers. It’s such a beautiful country, with such a rich and romantic history and I really want to bring that out in my stories.
When did you write your first book?…
I was a sixteen year old kid still at school. My English teacher told me I would never write anything good enough to publish and I wanted to prove him wrong.FUN

Tristen would be looking over information he’d been given about his best friends murder as well as studying property papers for estates he’s interested in buying.
What kind of food would he impulse buy if hungry?
He’s a very simple man with servants to cook for him. Tristen would be content with steak and potatoes.
Describe the kind of clothes he prefers to wear.
You will never see Tristen in a suit, despite his wealthy upbringing. He wears denium jeans and cotton work shirts.
Does he know how to fix things?
He does yes. Despite having servants, he is not afraid of work and often can be found on the cattle station helping his workers.
He tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
Tristen tried to save his best friend from a fire, but failed. He blamed himself and ended up dependent on alcohol and heroin.
How does he act around children he doesn’t know?
After the fire that left him scarred, he becomes a hermit and avaoids people, so he wouldn’t come across any children.
What is he like first thing in the morning?
Usually Tristen would be out on the cattle station inspecting fences and feed stocks.
How does he handle things when in a “proper” social situation?
Tristen was raised very well, and was very good at social flattery. Some would even describe him as quite a charmer.
Valet or takes care of himself?
He takes care of himself.
Necktie/cravat or open shirt?
Open shirt – he’s not big on formal attire.
Sleeves buttoned or rolled up?
His sleeves are rolled up, but not far as he’s very aware not to reveal his scars.

Tristen has natural black, collar length hair.

Though he has been known to take the odd carriage, Tristen’s far more comfortable on horseback.

I mostly wear blue, denim jeans and white cotton work shirts. I also wear brown riding boots.
If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?
My slight Italian accent. I was raised to speak fluent Italian and English.
What is your viewpoint on wealth?
I know how important it is to be able to live a comfortable life, but I have also seen the destruction and heartache it can cause.
What is your family like?
My father, Antonio, is a very cruel man who thinks his power gives him the right to treat people as possessions. My mother was a beautiful, kind hearted woman who embraced her Irish heritage.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?

Darien Avery followed Caitlyn Sinclair from England to Australia, memories of their intense love affair fresh in his mind. When they arrive he quickly learns he isn’t the only man in this new country who’s infatuated with the breathtaking, blonde-haired beauty.
Women are turning up dead, victims to the worst kinds of depraved acts—women who fit Caitlyn’s description—and every clue to the murderer leads back to Darien’s family. Frantic to save Caitlyn’s life, he sends her up north to her family, hoping to free her from the murderer’s grasp. But she never makes it there. When he receives word that her dead body has been found, his heart breaks and he throws himself into a life of debauchery and sin as punishment for failing to save the woman he loves.

Guests would be business associates, or those he wanted to entice into visiting his brothel. There would be plenty of alcohol and food.
How does the hero feel about being this particular party, and what body language is he displaying that gives it away?
He would be there for business but always on the lookout for the murderer he was hunting.
Is he more likely to mingle or remain aloof?
He would most definitely mingle so that he could talk to his guests and see if they knew anything about the murders.
If he drinks, what is his drink of choice at this party?
Whiskey, though would drink brandy if available.
How much drink is his usual?
Not a heavy drinker as he needs to keep his wits about him.
The hero figures out where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party?
He would be going to meet an informant or to spy on one of the guests. If Caitlyn was also at the party he would definitely be sneaking away with her.
Is he likely to latch onto a friend and stay with him/her and ignore others, or is he the friend that others latch onto?
He doesn’t usually latch onto people, nor allow them to latch onto him. Caitlyn is the only person he appears close to.
If someone picked a fight at this party, how is the hero going to handle it?
He would most definitely break it up, even if it meant knocking those fighting to the ground himself.
Is the hero the one most likely to get tossed out of the party, or the one who does the tossing?
He would most definitely do the tossing. He owns a brothel so is accustomed to handling rowdy patrons.
Will he know when to leave, or stay late and make a nuisance of himself?

How does the hero handle it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls him aside when he was blameless in a situation?
He has a way with words and is not easily intimidated by the police or anyone else. He would answer what questions the police asked him short and quick and get them off his property as quick as they arrived.
How does the hero react to hearing a scream?
