| Don’t Say No |
I read a book some time ago that featured taggers, or graffiti
artists. I found the subject fascinating and had to do more research. According
to an article at the
Center
for Problem-Oriented Policing, there are four major types of graffiti, all problematic
and some gang related. Then there are other articles like this one at
Smashing
Magazine, that portray graffiti as art. Check out the examples they show here,
or these by female
street artists. I wouldn’t mind having some of this artwork on the building
at my business.
If I did decide to decorate the outside of my shop, how would
I go about finding a graffiti artist? An Internet search brought up a
Facebook page, a
Tumblr page, and many
more sites all over the world. Not too many in my area, but I’m sure I could hunt
one down, possibly listing themselves as a mural artist.
Beautiful as it is, sometimes the pictures are done without permission.
In Don’t Say No, unwelcome graffiti is painted all over the outside of a spa on
grand opening day. Curse words, not beautiful pictures. My hero and heroine come
up with a creative solution to solve the problem.
