Welcome Denysé Bridger author of Escape to Africa, a new romantic suspense boxed set.

Why did you write this book?

This particular set of stories came about as the World Romance Writers chatted about themes for future sets after the best-selling debut set, Letterbox Love Stories. We wanted to do something a little more exotic and add a touch of suspense, so the idea of tales set in Africa was born. I’ve long been a lover of the movie Casablanca, and wanted to try something in a similar vein to the movie. So, with a tip of the hat to that classic movie, I hope you enjoy a peek at this one–the first in a series of stories with this set of characters because I know their adventure is just beginning…

What is your favorite genre to read?

I read a lot of different genres, but pretty much all have an element of romance in them. These days I tend to be reading cozy mysteries, which I adore but can’t write, sadly. I also read a lot of romantic suspense and find a lot of excellent authors in the Love Inspired Suspense line from Harlequin, one of my favourite authors there is Elizabeth Goddard, her series’ never disappoint!

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

That would have to be Sherlock Holmes, or his more modern counterpart, William Murdoch from Maureen Jennings Murdoch Mysteries series. Both are Victorian in setting, and both men are fascinating as they hunt down villains with shrewd intellect and logic.

What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment I’m working on a story I pitched to Harlequin, it’s all Canadian, really. Canadian setting, Canadian hero and heroine, and the author is from Eastern Canada! This is the first time in many years that I’ve written a story set in my own country, I tend to write in settings that I feel are a little more exotic, but this one has me very excited. It’s got a passionate romance, and a lot of suspense elements, as well as Native American roots. I think it’s going to be a very strong story!

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I’m in a new boxed set from the authors at Romance Books 4 Us, plus I’m doing a book for an on-going theme set called Hidden. I have no less than four projects in the works to be ready by mid-2018. Wish me luck!! I also have three new series in the works – and I was always the one who never wrote with the idea of a series in mind.
