Jaine Andersen from Fooling Around With Cinderella by @stacyjuba #RLFblog #chicklit

Stacy Juba shares details about the creation of Jaine
Andersen in the book Fooling Around With Cinderella.

    About the Book

    Title Fooling Around With Cinderella
    Genre Chick Lit/Sweet Romance
    Author Stacy Juba
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
    What happens when the
    glass slippers pinch Cinderella’s toes?
When Jaine Andersen proposes a new marketing role to the
local amusement park, general manager Dylan Callahan charms her into filling
Cinderella’s glass slippers for the summer. Her reign transforms Jaine’s
ordinary life into chaos that would bewilder a fairy godmother. Secretly dating
her bad boy boss, running wedding errands for her ungrateful sisters, and
defending herself from the park’s resident villain means Jaine needs lots more
than a comfy pair of shoes to restore order in her kingdom. First in the
Storybook Valley series, a blend of sweet romance, chick lit, and fairy tale
    fun.

    Introducing Jaine Andersen

    Name: Jaine Andersen
    Age: 25
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: Catskills of NY
Profession: Eager marketing coordinator for a theme
    park/temporary and very reluctant Cinderella
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Human
Describe his/her body build, skin tone, height and weight.
Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars: Sandy caramel
hair that can’t decide whether it is brown or blonde, blue eyes, and glasses.
Slender, but didn’t quite fit into the outfit she wanted to wear on her job
    interview.
    Who is the significant
    other in your character’s life?
    Dylan Callahan
    Tell us about this
    character, please.
Dylan is the general manager of the Storybook Valley Theme
Park and recently hired Jaine for a marketing position, and to assist with a
Cinderella crisis. A former ski instructor, he has a reputation as a bad boy
heartbreaker. He never showed much interest in his family’s theme park in the
past, and has a lot to prove. Dylan tries to fight his attraction to Jaine so
that he can focus on business.
    How does your hero
    dress?
While working as Cinderella, she wears a ball gown so puffy
that helium could have inflated it. Gleaming pearls and silver thread embroider
the rich gold. She also wears a blonde Gibson Girl wig and a tiara.
    How educated is this
    character?
She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
    What is your
    character’s family like?
She has two annoying sisters, twins Bree and Shauna. Bree is
a high-powered attorney and Bridezilla with an upcoming wedding. Shauna, a
divorced single mom, relies on Jaine for babysitting. In fact, the twins rely
on Jaine for all their errands.
    If someone from your
character’s past showed up, who would he most NOT want it to be, and why?
Someone from her past does show up, an old high school rival
named Gabrielle Allaire. Gabrielle always bested Jaine in high school, whether
it was getting a higher grade on a test, landing a college scholarship, or
winning a class office. Now she works in a leadership role at the theme park
and acts as if she has authority over Jaine.
    Can your hero keep a
    secret (why or why not)?
Her biggest secret is that she is helping out as Cinderella
for a few months, before assuming a full-time marketing position. The park has
had a string of bad luck with Cinderellas and Dylan is tired of fooling around
with Cinderella. Jaine’s sisters would make fun of her if they knew so she
keeps it a secret from her family.  So
yes, she is extremely good at keeping secrets.
    What inner doubt
causes your character the most difficulty?
She always takes care of everyone else, putting their needs
before her own. She fears that focusing on her own needs is selfish.
    What is your hero’s biggest
    hopes and dreams?
To become marketing director of the theme park and to live
    happily ever after with Dylan.
    What is your hero’s
    breaking point?
When she is sabotaged at work, and her reputation is in the
    gutter.
    What is the hardest
    part about playing Cinderella?
Having kids wipe sticky ice cream hands on my dress,
teenagers who ask me stupid questions for You Tube videos, and aching feet from
    the glass slippers.
    Who is your closest
    friend at Storybook Valley?
Krystal, the wardrobe supervisor. Krystal amuses me as she
also likes to dress up as Red Riding Hood. She wears a Red Riding Hood costume
    to work. Voluntarily.
    What kind of training
    went into playing Cinderella?
Dylan’s grandmother was obsessed with making me the perfect
Cinderella. I had to learn to master Cinderella’s signature, practice a proper
princess wave, get used to always staying in character, and watch Audrey
Hepburn movies to absorb the regal way she carried herself.

    About Your Writer

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
She has spent a lot of years writing murder mysteries. They
are intriguing whodunnits, but I think Stacy felt like writing about something
more cheerful, hence a theme park Cinderella.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
I wish she hadn’t mentioned the difficulties of using the
    toilet in a ball gown.
    What other character
from your book do you think your writer should write a book about, and why?
I know she is working on a book about Rory, Dylan’s sister,
who is named Aurora after Sleeping Beauty. I think she should also write about
my friends Krystal and Tiara, as a start. I also want her to write a short
story leading up to how Dylan got himself into such a princess problem.
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
She has always been on the quiet side, and writing has been
a way for her to express herself since she was a child. Stacy also loves to
read – she is obsessed with books.
    Is there anything
you’d like to say to your writer?
I had so much fun appearing in this book and I can’t wait to
return to Storybook Valley as a supporting character in Prancing Around With
Sleeping Beauty and the other books in the series.

    Stacy
Juba got engaged at Epcot Theme Park and spent part of her honeymoon at
Disneyland Paris, where she ate a burger, went on fast rides, and threw up on
the train ride to the hotel. In addition to working on her new Storybook Valley
chick lit/sweet romance series, Stacy has written books about ice hockey, teen
psychics, U.S. flag etiquette for kids, and determined women sleuths. She has
had a novel ranked as #5 in the Nook Store and #30 on the Amazon Kindle Paid
List. When she’s not visiting theme parks with her family, (avoiding rides that
spin and exotic hamburgers) Stacy helps writers to strengthen their manuscripts
through her Crossroads Editing Service. She is also the founder of the Glass
Slipper Sisters, a group of fifteen authors with Cinderella-themed romance
novels. She is currently writing the next book in the Storybook Valley Series,

    Acting The Part a new #contemporaryromance by @justineromance #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces
    the story.
    About the Author
I live in Canberra, Australia and I’ve spent my professional life
writing legal advice – which some may say is similar to creative writing – but
the lack of sexy heroes and happy endings have led me writing romance. I have
placed in the finals of Romance Writers of Australia writing contests, winning
the Emerald Short Award in 2014.
I love Earl Grey tea, talking about which of Jane Austen’s novels is
my favourite, and searching for the perfect frock. I will read anything, but
    love romance most of all.
    Interview with Justine Lewis
    Why did you write this
    book?
    I write
escapist romance and, without consciously meaning to, my books often feature
celebrities. The idea for Acting the Part came when I wondered about the
children of celebrities and what it must be like to have super famous parents.
That’s where Persephone Greenwood aka Poppy came from. Her mother is a
beautiful actress with depression and substance abuse problems, but Poppy loves
her unconditionally and will do anything to help her overcome her addiction.
Even if that means entering her father’s show business world, the world of
movie making, actors and celebrities. A world she blames for her mother’s
problems. A world she has avoided all of her life.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
It is difficult to pick just one, but if I had to I’d say contemporary
    romance.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
This one is easy though: Elizabeth Bennett. She’s feisty and strong
yet her vulnerability is universal. I love that she speaks her mind and still
    gets the man.
What are you working on at
the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
My next book is due out in the first half of 2016 and is a
contemporary romance about a TV anchor woman who fears she’s reaching her
use-by date and finds herself both threatened and attracted to a new gun
foreign correspondent who becomes her offsider.
    Please tell us about your
    latest book.
Poppy Greenwood needs money fast. Her estranged
father, one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, has promised to help – on
the condition that she work on the set of his next movie. Although Poppy
despises the world of show business, she has little choice but to agree.
Hot-shot director Max Madden has an Oscar in his
sights. He needs this film to be a success but an overblown budget and a
difficult cast are ruining his plans. Not only that, but the Executive
Producer’s daughter has arrived to spy on him. To keep a close eye on Poppy, he
insists she work directly for him.
But as they work together on location in southern
France, the temperature begins to rise. Max knows the boss’s daughter is
definitely off limits – and Poppy does not want a relationship with anyone in
the industry. Yet against their better judgment, an intense chemistry begins to
    build.

Kristina Knight author of First Love Again @AuthorKristina #RLFblog #contemporary

Kristina Knight author of First Love Again answers five easy
questions to help readers get to know her better.

    Author Bio

Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running
from car crash to fire to meetings with local police–no, she wasn’t a
troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United
States, writing about everything from a serial killer’s capture to the National
Finals Rodeo. Along the way, she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy
Boots and an abiding love for romance novels. And just like the characters from
her favorite books, she’s living her own happily ever after.
Kristina writes sassy contemporary romance novels; her books
have appeared on Kindle Best Seller Lists. She loves hearing from readers, so
    drop her a line!
    What’s your favorite down-home
    family style meal?
Gosh, so many to choose from! I’m going to go with chili,
because we’re heavy into fall right now. When the weather turns crisp, my
family loves soups. This weekend I’ve got chili perking in the crock pot and in
another hour or so I’ll make some grilled cheese sandwiches to go with it. Yum!
    What’s your favorite hashtag
    to watch on Twitter?
I follow the #amwriting and #amreading hashtags a LOT! Those
two remind me that I’m not alone in my love of books. I can’t tell you how many
new authors I’ve found by following #amreading, and when I’m deep in deadline
hell and feeling like I’m all alone, the #amwriting hash helps to remind me
    that I’m not.
    Describe the perfect vacation.
Warm, tropical breezes, a sandy beach…and RadioMan sitting
beside me watching the sun go down.
    When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?
I read across the gamut, it kind of depends on my mood. If I
want to escape I’ll turn to Kristan Higgans or Nora Roberts…and more times
than not I’m in that escape mode!
If the hero of your latest
book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Oooh, good one! I think I’d attach Ride by Chase Rice to
Emmett from First Love Again…it just fits him.

  • 5 Easy Questions,  Contemporary

GE Taylor author Desperate Decision #RLFblog #contemporary

G.E. Taylor author of Desperate Decision answers five easy questions
to help readers get to know her better.
    Author Bio
    I became hooked on
reading romance novels during my teen years and my attempt at writing began in
high school. All of my manuscripts were mailed under my bed. Eventually, I
threw out most of them. That was painful especially since I’d hand written them
first, then typed them on my old typewriter.
    In college I majored
in English but ended up with a Master in Social Work and a Master in Education.
    Though I had these
different career paths, I never gave up my passion for writing. Now I’m much
more committed to it and writing full time. I’ve drawn on my years of
practicing social work to give my work authenticity and realism.
    I live in New Jersey
    with my family.
What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?
    Now this
is difficult because I have two all time favorites. The first one is oxtail
with broad beans, rice and peas and ginger beer.  And the other is Jerk Chicken with rice and
peas and ginger beer. Just thinking about them now is making my mouth water.
What is your go-to meal when you
    dine out?
    Without a
doubt seafood Alfredo. I love it!
    Describe the perfect vacation.
    If I had
the financial pocket book to do this, the perfect vacation for me would be to
spend at least six weeks away with my husband on the island of Saint Barths.
love the Caribbean waters, the lovely sandy
beaches, the food and culture. I’d like to enjoy that.
    What are your hobbies?
    My
favorite is reading. I’m absolutely lost if I don’t have a book to read. I like
to bake cakes and decorate them. I’ve done some wedding and birthday cakes
    which turned out pretty well.
    Cooking
is right at the top of my list, so you’ll find me watching Master Chef and
other cooking shows. When I attended college and was invited to a party I would
    run out get
    some
material and a pattern and sew my own dress. Crocheting—I’ve not done much
lately but I do like to make various pieces.
When you read for pleasure, what
kind of books do you choose?
    Romance
or Law. The romance book could be a historical or even contemporary one just as
long as it holds my interest. I enjoy
stories about the law, so I search for John Grisham’s books.

North’s flight to freedom is dangerous and desperate. As she scrambles into the
stranger’s car crying “drive,” she prays to God this is not her last day on

battered, and with no money, she needs a place to hide and heal until she finds
work as a pastry chef. When the stranger offers her shelter, she takes it even
as fear rushes up her throat and threatens to choke her. Would she live to
    regret her decision?
    Mason
Franklin cannot believe his eyes but, with her urgent cry ringing in his ears,
he presses the gas and the car leaps forward. What had possessed her to do such
a dangerous act? He intends to find out. But no amount of probing loosened her
tongue. Just when he decides to let her go, he accidently sees her bruised
body. Angry that someone did that to her made him want to meet the coward. He
offers her shelter. Under his roof, he discovers she is the pastry chef who
could not only lift his business to the top, but who built up a need in him
that only she can satisfy. The wild passion they share can only lead to one
    conclusion.

    #Cancer Awareness: Have No Fear @CCMacKenzie1 #RLFblog

    The
    Fall of Jacob Del Garda
From Kayelle Allen: This week on Romance Lives Forever I’m sharing
stories by authors who have faced cancer either in themselves, or a family member.
The importance of friends and family, and having a support system is vital. One
key to success is being able to ask for help — and then being willing to accept
it. It’s a lesson I’ve had in my own life during various times. I don’t accept help
well. It’s something I fight with all the time. I’d like to think “I’ve got
this” but sometimes I don’t have as good a grip as I thought I did. I have
a friend who’s dealing with cancer right now. A friend’s brother died from cancer
last year. Cancer affects all of us. I hope I’m even half as good a friend as those
you’ll read about in this series.
I’m presenting these posts as an opportunity for the authors
to share their real life stories, as well as their fictional ones. There’s a short
list of ways you can show your support at the end of each post.

Have No Fear, by Christine MacKenzie

    “Thank you so much, Kayelle,
for having me on your blog today to highlight such a worthwhile cause.
When a woman hears the words ‘You
have Breast Cancer’. The first thing that hits her is how immensely powerful
the word, Cancer, actually is. Dealing with the shock, and then immediately
telling my mother, my daughters, was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my
life. Then we’re caught up in the whirlwind of surgical appointments, the surgery
itself, the outcome of tests, and it sometimes feels as if we’re trapped on a
roller coaster and can’t jump off.
    Three years and a mastectomy
later, and I’m truly blessed to be cancer free. People ask me how I remained so
upbeat and positive. My response is that I didn’t have a choice! But the real
answer is that cancer did me the biggest favor of my life. My secret dream was
‘One Day’ to be a writer, a romance writer. However, in spite of winning
competitions, receiving positive feedback, the fear of not being good enough
    always held me back.
The day I was diagnosed with
breast cancer was the day I lost the fear of failure. And I also realized that
‘One Day’ may never come unless I grabbed every opportunity that came along.
Eight books later, with eleven more in the pipeline, I’ve never been happier.
And this is where I come to the
two young women who inspired me to write, The Fall of Jacob Del Garda. Two
years ago, I was sitting in my breast surgeon’s waiting room. Sitting next to
me were twins, girls aged twenty-three, blonde and gorgeous. They were laughing
and joking with each other, and I assumed they were there offering support to a
mother or even a grandmother. It didn’t occur to me that breast cancer would be
an issue for them. So we got chatting, and it became clear that one of the
girls had undergone a double mastectomy six months before, and she’d just been
diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. The positive way she was dealing with
such a blow, truly inspired me. Then her sister told me how she, too, was about
to undergo a bilateral double mastectomy after genetic testing revealed that
the twins carried the BRCA1/2 gene mutation. But surely they were too young?
After a long chat with my surgeon, I realized that diagnosing breast cancer in
women under thirty-five using traditional mammogram technologies was extremely
difficult due to the tissue density of young breasts. What was needed were the
new digital mammograms manufactured by Siemens. Our local hospital was in the
process of raising money for a new mammogram suite. I remember promising my
doctor I would write a story about twins who were dealing with BRCA1/2 genetic
mutation. And that the proceeds of the book would go towards the cause.
On an update on the twins –
they’re both well and married to two wonderful men. How’s that for A Happy Ever
After! I couldn’t write a better ending myself.
    –Christine.

    About the Book

The Fall of Jacob Del Garda
Twin sisters – twice the trouble
Twelve months after disappearing from Jacob’s life, the woman
who broke his heart, supermodel Gabriella Dolman, is back. But things have changed.
Now Gabriella is a photographer – still fabulously beautiful – but no longer glamorous,
and no longer looking for love. Though Gabriella claims she just wants to move on
without him, Jacob’s pretty certain that her reaction to their red-hot kisses implies
    otherwise.
Tobin Gillespie believes in taking a stand, and he never turns
his back on a challenge. So when his work as a PR guru brings research scientist
Sophie Dolman back into his life, her obnoxious behavior and lethal put downs aren’t
enough to put him off – quite the reverse. And the more they clash, the more determined
he is to break down the wall around her heart and claim it for his own.
