Penthesilia from The Wrath of Aphrodite by @CGWilliamsauth #RLFblog #Mythicfiction

C.G. Williams shares details about the creation of Penthesilia in the
    book The Wrath of Aphrodite.

    About the Book

Title: The Wrath of Aphrodite Book 1
    Genre: Mythic Fiction
    Author: C.G. Williams
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
    In
the last year of the Trojan war, Penthesilia, an Amazon war captain, leads a
contingent of fierce Amazon warriors to Troy, to ally with the great city
against the Achaean forces. She wins victory in her battles with Achaeans and
    inspires the Trojan army anew.
    Her
battles with Achilles are the greatest of all. Who will be the victor? The
ruthless Achilles or the merciless Penthesilia? Both born under auspicious
signs, both rumored to be the offspring of an immortal, and both matchless
warriors, unrelenting in their bloodlust. Victory is within their reach, all
they have to do is win the fight. Mortals and Immortals watch breathless for
    the outcome.
During a brief conversation they insult the Goddess Aphrodite,
mocking her greatest gift – Love. Furious with these two great warriors,
Aphrodite retaliates and sends her son Eros with two arrows imbued with a love
so potent and consuming, it will have only one outcome, destruction.
    This
story unfolds in a three Novella series.

    Introducing Penthesilia

This interview is designed to tell readers about your hero or heroine.
    Name: Penthesilia
    Age: 23
    Gender: Female
Birthplace: Themiscrya, the capital of the Amazon people.
    Profession: War Captain
Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Amazon from Themiscrya, she is
    multiracial like most Amazons.
    Describe his/her body
build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as
    dimples, freckles, or scars
    : Tall, muscular, olive
skin, dark, curly hair, usually pulled back. She has scars from battles and a
distinct three line scar from her buttocks to her thigh from hunting a wild
    cat.
    Who is the significant
    other in your character’s life?
    Achilles
    Tell us about this
    character, please.
Achilles is the Myrmidon war Captain with the Achaean army. He is a
the greatest of the Achaean warriors fighting against Troy and he knows it.
Brash and arrogant, he’s been educated by the great teacher Chyron and knows
that his destiny of glory is to be made on the Trojan shore. What he does not
know is the destiny of his heart is destruction followed by madness, or that his
greatest love is also his greatest enemy.
    How does your heroine
    dress?
Penthesilia is an Amazon warrior as such she wears armor into battle.
Her hair is usually tightly plaited and secured back as to not make her
vulnerable to an opponent. Her helmet is embossed with horse faces that cover
her cheekbones, the nose of the horses meet over her nose merging with the
protective plate that runs up between her eyes meeting with the skull
protector. Below hinged plates with the horses legs nearly touch beneath her
lips. When temperatures are cooler she wears a leopard skin beneath her armor
to keep warm. She wears greaves, chest armor, thigh protection and carries a
crescent shaped shield. She is armed with sword, spear, Labrys and arrows.
When not on the battlefield Penthesilia dresses in simple well made
tunics. Not someone who requires much adornment except for a few pieces of
prized jewelry here and there like an armlet she took from an enemy.
When she disguises herself to cross into the enemy Achaean camps to do
recognizance, her hair is loose and she wears a scullery maids dress.
    If you could only hear
this character’s voice (but not see her) what characteristic would identify
    her?
She has a pleasant mellifluous speaking voice and she has a loud,
cutting, strident voice she uses in battle, which is quite distinctive.
    How educated is this
    character?
Penthesilia is very well educated. She is the daughter of a Queen and
she speaks several languages. She has spent thirty six moon cycles training to
be an elite Amazon Warrior. She knows the history of her people and their
allies and enemies. She is a priestess of the goddess Artemis.
    Is the character
    book-smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
Penthesilia is well read and she is constantly learning and
experiencing new things. She has fought with a variety of enemies and always
    emerged victorious.
    Does she scrape by, live
    comfortably, live extravagantly?
Penthesilia has lived by the highest standards of the Amazon court.
She has also struggled to survive in muddy battlefields with only her wits and
    prowess to keep her alive.
    What is your character’s
    viewpoint on wealth?
As an Amazon trade is important to the economics of their people. She
has never wanted for material items, but wealth is something shared amongst
there people and they wish to continue to thrive.
    On what special skills
    does your character rely?
She is a matchless warrior with nothing to lose. The accuracy of her
aim is blessed by the Immortals and she never misses.
Are any of her skills a
source of pride or embarrassment, and if so, which ones and why?
Because her aim is divine her older sister was killed during a hunt
when she stepped into the path of Penthesilia’s spear. She would give up
everything to have her beloved sister back again.
    What kinds of things does
your character always carry (in pockets or purse)?
There are some Amazon fetishes for protection of the Goddess, but she
doesn’t always carry them. She usually has a knife.
    What is your character’s
    family like?
Penthesilia’s mother is from a line of Amazon royalty. Her grandfather
is Theseus, one of the great Kings of Athens. Penthesilia’s own father was a
gifted warrior who was banished from his kingdom and during his wanderings he
fought against Penthesilia’s mother Queen Otrere. During the truce ritual they
laid together conceiving Penthesilia. She never knew her father but she was
raised as the daughter of a Queen with a tight network of friends and family
    about her.
    Is she close to family?
She is very close to her family and to her sisters.
    Does he have children?
Penthesilia has no children, she had neither the time nor inclination.
Is your character involved in his community?
As a warrior to the realm of Amazon her life is dedicated to the
protection of her community and people.
How well does she know the
    neighbors?
She knows the neighboring Kingdoms well, but this is her first visit
to Troy. Once there she immerses herself and learns a great deal about the
Trojan people and the royal family.
    Does this character see
morality as black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
She is a very black and white person at the beginning of the story.
But once compromised by the will of Aphrodite, lines become blurred. The only
thing she has to hold true to is her sacrifice to the Goddess Artemis.
    How do others perceive
your character based upon looks, and is is this assumption accurate?
The Amazon warriors are intimidating and it is an accurate assumption.
    Does your character care
about what others assume about him?
She cares what her fellow Amazons think of her and she cares about
what Hector thinks of her, because she has a deep and abiding respect of him.
    If someone from your
character’s past showed up, who would she most want it to be, and why?
She misses her dead sister and would give everything she could to have
    her alive and with her.
    If someone from your
character’s past showed up, who would she most NOT want it to be, and why?
A king that she vanquished in a terrible war. He was destructive to
the sacred Amazon forest and he killed her lover and fellow Amazon warrior Thalestris.
    Can your heroine keep a
    secret (why or why not)?
She discovers she is quite good at keeping a secret.
    What secrets does your
character know about people around her that she does NOT share?
It is her own secret that she doesn’t want to share.
    What inner doubt causes
    your character the most difficulty?
She is drawn back to Achilles repeatedly and she knows her tactical
information is complete. It is against her better judgment, she knows it’s
madness yet she returns to him.
    What past event causes
    your character the most fear?
The death of her sister hangs over her like a pall.
    What is your character’s
biggest need at the beginning of the story?
Redemption, cleansing and finally a sacrifice to the Goddess Artemis.
    What is your heroine’s
    biggest hopes and dreams?
Penthesilia’s greatest hope is to honor her sacrifice to the Goddess
Artemis. As for her dreams she has not allowed herself any thought of the
future other than to kill the enemies of Troy.
    What would help your
character face hardship and meet any challenge?
Her dedication to her people as a defender of Amazon is where she
finds her strength. Doing her service in the greater good of her people.
    If your character could
make any one thing happen, what would it be?
    Bring her sister back.
    What is your heroine’s
    biggest personal flaw?
She lacks empathy at the beginning from being battle hardened. By the
end of the story she’s found feelings again.
    When there is a setback,
    what doubt or flaw surfaces?
I think setbacks make her more determined to complete her tasks.
Nothing will deter her from making sacrifice to the Goddess Artemis.
    How does your character
    handle challenges?
She’s extremely adaptable, her minimal warrior lifestyle does not
leave room for attachment. And then one day she forms a very deep attachment to
someone she should not even be on speaking terms with.
    What is your heroine’s
    breaking point?
Penthesilia broke when she accidentally killed her sister during a
hunt. From then on she has only a few things in life she really wants.
    How does your character
    express disappointment?
    Penthesilia retreats into solitude.
    How emotionally expressive
    is your character to others?
Depending on the situation, she can be cold and aloof or if among
friends and loved ones passionate and open.
When (if) she lies or is
    upset, what gives him away?
Penthesilia is one cool cookie. She doesn’t have any tells because
that can get you killed on the battlefield. When confronted with her subterfuge
and deception she willingly takes responsibility.
Who in her life has the
power to hurt this character the most and why?
Her fellow Amazons because they are her closest people. Hector,
because she deeply respects him, he is better than this war without honor and
Achilles, if he finds out the truth about her it would be catastrophic.

    About Your Writer

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
I think C.G. Williams chose to write about me because she was
fascinated by brief descriptions left by Homer. She wanted to write my story
with complexity and richness of culture that she’d not found in other fictional
writings about Amazons. She loves kick ass women that navigate their way
    through difficult terrain.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
I wish that she’d left private the details of my affair with Achilles.
    What other character from
your book do you think your writer should write a book about, and why?
Any one of the Amazon warriors that came with me, for example Ainia
the fastest Amazon to set feet upon this earth. Harmothoe the Amazon who has
the gift of communion with animals and Bremusa who is a granddaughter of
Hercules and a priestess of the Dark Artemis Hecate.
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
My writer loves to write because it takes her to a place outside this
physical realm. She can travel deep into imagination and once that stream flows
    it is epically delightful.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your writer?
    Thanks for telling my side.

    Endless as the Rain

    Interview with Alec Kaden

This interview is designed for your hero or heroine to tell
    readers about himself or herself.
    Tell us about
    yourself, please.
Alec Kaden. Yes, one of those Kadens, the organized crime
family. My business is legitimate; I don’t give a shit if you don’t believe it.
The good thing about having money is I can hire people who aren’t insufferable
to keep the cretins away from me. I can’t exactly beat the hell out of people
who get in my way like Father did. Apparently, I was often in Father’s way.
    What inner doubt
    causes you the most difficulty?
It’s not doubt so much as Father’s ever-present commanding
voice. Even in his grave, he can reach out and choke me. But I’m thankful to
him for keeping me in my place.
In the story world your author created, explain what it is
    you fear most and why.
I fear not being able to keep my word to Adriane.
    Tell us about your
significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
While there is someone to whom I’m faithful, I don’t have
the right to call her my significant other.
    What would that
    person say about you?
My hope is that she never knows me well enough to form an
opinion, that she never discovers what she means to me. I would never wish that
    upon her.
    What is your family
    like?
My mother died during my birth, and Father is also dead.
    What special skills
    do you rely on?
I know how to make money, a skill I gained from my education
at Oxford. My greatest talent, though, I gained from Father. Just like with
him, people know better than to fuck with me.

this character for the interview today?
Alec is the most complex and intriguing character I’ve ever
    written or read.
    Are any sequels
    planned for this book?
The prequel will be released this winter, I’m working on the
final draft of the sequel, and then I’ll start on the final book.
    What would your
readers be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a fourth degree black belt and certified instructor of
Songahm Taekwondo, and I have a motorcycle license.

Heath Kalman: Love Me Not @VilletteSnowe #RLFblog #romance

    Love Me Not

    Interview with Heath Kalman

This interview is designed for your hero or heroine to tell
    readers about himself or herself.
    Tell us about
    yourself, please.
I’m an Ivy League graduate with a degree in literature, a
    widower, and a gigolo.
In the story world your author created, explain what it is
    you fear most and why.
I fear that Kimber, somewhere deep with herself, loves me in
some way. I would rather she hate me. A person you hate can hurt you only so
much; a person you love can destroy you.
    Tell us about your
significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Kimber is gentle, yet feisty. She’s a true fighter. Her
family turned their backs on her, simply because she followed her conscience
and chose for herself, and she’s finding a way to live on her own.
    What would that
    person say about you?
I pray she has nothing much to say, that she’s forgotten me.
When my one-year deadline is up, she’ll feel nothing. She won’t feel the need
    to grieve.
    What is your family
    like?
My mother died in a mental hospital. My sister raised me.
    What special skills
    do you rely on?
I make women moan and squeal with pleasure. I suppose I can
still write, but no one sees anything I put on paper anymore.

    About the Writer

Villette Snowe is the girl you sat behind in
advanced English class, the one whom you thought was an angel. She makes the
best dirty jokes that so few people hear, the girl who rarely looks you in the
eye but makes you nervous when she does. She’s the one writing the intense
romances you won’t admit you read.
    What was your biggest
    challenge in writing this book?
    Getting through it without crying.
    Why did you choose
this character for the interview today?
He’s an intriguing juxtaposition of qualities.
    Are any sequels
    planned for this book?
No sequels. But I do hope to publish another similarly
intense title under this pen name.
    Why should readers
who haven’t picked up one of your books before give this one a try?
Give it a try for the steam; stay for the intensity and
depth of the story and characters.

  • Character Interviews,  Gay or MM

    Guy Stone from What’s in a Name by @phenshaw #RLFblog #mmromance

    Interview with Guy Stone
This interview is designed for your hero or heroine to tell
    readers about himself or herself.
    Tell us about
    yourself, please.
(Ahem!) My name is Stone. I’m the owner and bartender of
Stonewall Saloon in Old Town Stone Acres, California. The bar’s been in the
family from the frontier days when my great-grandpa entertained Wild Bill Cody
and other famous—and sometimes infamous—characters who roamed the West. You
don’t believe me, all you need to do is look at the pictures on the walls of
the saloon. I’m big, burly, the kind of guy who rides his Harley in the hills
to let off steam. Mostly, though, I’m pretty laid back. Ya gotta be to run a
saloon where motorcycle gangs and gay men hang out. Until I met Jimmy Patterson,
the guy who opened the coffee shop a couple doors down from the saloon, nobody
asked what my first name was. Everybody just called me Stone. But Jimmy had to
push it. But in the end, after he’d weaseled the name outta me, he agreed to
    call me Guy, his Guy.
    Authors call what you
want but cannot have “the conflict” — what is yours?
For the longest damn time, I wanted Jimmy, but he’s was
living with this creepy fuck. So I kept my hands off because it just doesn’t
sit well with me when I see guys coming on to other guys’ men. It just ain’t
right. You know? So I played it cagy and talked to Jimmy whenever his
“boyfriend” was chatting up other guys. You know, playing it cool. And hoping a
lot. Don’t know if you can call that conflict. Or do you mean Tommy Thompson
and his group of rough-housers who were always picking on the queers in high
school? Yeah, they’re still a problem, but we’re working on them. You can read
    about it in the book.
    What inner doubt
    causes you the most difficulty?
Jimmy’s like smart, book smart and friendly, sometimes I
think too friendly. He sees everyone as good. Running a bar, I don’t. I know
some guys are just plain rattlesnakes inside. But sometimes, you know, I’d like
Jimmy to be right. I look at some crusty old drifter and I want to see somebody
good and decent, not somebody looking for another free drink. Sometimes I
wonder if I’m seeing the real world or Jimmy is. Of course, then another
drifter walks into the bar and I’ve got my doubts again.
In the story world your author created, explain what it is
    you fear most and why.
No, see, you got it wrong. I’m the person everyone fears.
Probably the bald head and the beefy body, you know? Cuts down on a lot of
damage to the bar if everyone’s just a little uneasy about how unhappy I could
get if things get outta hand. Mostly what I fear is some good-looking,
smooth-talking, better-than-me-stud is going to walk into Jimmy’s life and he’s
gonna compare us and find me wanting. If that happens, I’ll probably turn into
the old drifter cuz Jimmy is my life.
    Tell us about your
significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Jimmy? Well, you heard a lot about him in what I’ve already
said. But I wanna add a couple a other things. Jimmy and the coffee shop’s
co-owner Felicity had a hard life before they moved here. Jimmy’s happy all the
time, so he gets stomped on a lot. He’s funny and sweet—and God knows I’ve
never gone for sweet in a guy before—but realistic. He’s strong even though for
the past year or so he says he’s been leaning on me. But don’t listen to that.
He and Felicity have started two businesses and kept them going. People think
by looking at me that I’m the strong one in this relationship. Not hardly.
    Why are you happy (or
not happy) with the way your story ended?
See, here’s the thing. Jimmy and me? We’re the real deal.
The story is a hundred percent. We’re in it for the long haul. If that Pat
Henshaw person had ended the story any other way, we’d have had some words
about that. Fortunately, she saw the truth, so I didn’t have to get tough.
    About the Writer
Pat Henshaw, author of the Foothills Pride Stories, was born
and raised in Nebraska and has lived at various times in  Texas, Colorado, Northern Virginia, and
    Northern California.  Pat has visited
Mexico, Canada, Europe, Nicaragua, Thailand, and Egypt, and now enjoys trips to
Vermont, Oregon, and Arizona to see family. Pat spent her life surrounded by
    words—teaching  English composition at
the junior college level; writing book reviews for newspapers, magazines, and
websites; helping students find information as a librarian; and promoting PBS
    television programs.
    What was your biggest
    challenge in writing this book?
LOL. Actually writing it. I’ve always wanted to be a
published author—not to be confused with a published writer, which I’ve been
since my 20s. I’ve written about nine full-length novels, but never had one
published. I always promised myself that when I retired, I would get organized
about writing books. So actually sitting down and doing what I’d promised
myself was the biggest challenge I’ve overcome.
    Why did you choose
this character for the interview today?
What’s in a Name? is written from the viewpoint of Jimmy,
but a lot of my readers are captivated by Guy Stone. So I thought it was about
time Guy had his chance to explain himself and share what he thinks about
    Jimmy.
    Are any sequels
    planned for this book?
This is the first in the series and came out in January
2015. The second in the series, Redesigning Max, published in July 2015, and
the third, Behr Facts, comes out in October 2015. I’ve submitted the fourth
Foothills Pride novella, When Adam Fell, to the publisher, Dreamspinner Press,
but haven’t heard anything back yet. I’m currently working on the fifth book in
the series. Although all the books have characters and setting in common, they
    can be read independently.
    Why should readers
who haven’t picked up one of your books before give this one a try?
Because my books have no explicit sex, they are perfect
starter books for traditional romance readers who are curious about the new
trend in gay romance. My books are about love, not sex, and while gay romance
and m/m romance books have been called erotica in the past, my books wouldn’t
fit into that category at all. Readers looking for sex shouldn’t read my books.
Readers looking for love and happy endings should read them.
    Is there anything
you’d like to say to your readers?
This has been a whirlwind year for me. My experiment to see
if I could be a published author has been a success. As of the end of December,
I will have published around 100,000 words with Dreamspinner and am blown away
when I think about it. I want to thank my readers for making this possible and
wish to pass on to them success in fulfilling their dreams.

Brandt Fairlane from Seduction in Sierra Leone by @olivianightread #RLFblog #suspense

    Interview with Brandt Fairlane
    This interview is
designed for your hero or heroine to tell readers about himself or herself.

    Tell us about
    yourself, please.
    My name is Brandt
Fairlane. I am the CEO of Fairlane Trade International. We are the largest arms
supplier in the Middle East and Africa. The company exchanged hands by force
when knowledge came to light that the previous CEO had started to expand the
business to include human trafficking. Myself, and two others went in and took
    over.
    Authors call what you
want but cannot have “the conflict” — what is yours?
    Aislinn Salameh.
Aislinn is a relief worker in a small village in Sierra Leone. I visit the
village for a friend who calls in a favor I owe. I try to stay away from her
for numerous reasons. One being that Rick, the previous CEO of the arms
company, may retaliate at any time. Having a weakness is a dangerous thing in
my business. So in order to keep her safe I try to stay far, far away from her.
    In the story world
your author created, explain what it is you fear most and why
    .
My biggest fear is putting Aislinn in danger.
Once I knew I couldn’t be without Aislinn I knew that I was potentially putting
her at risk. There is nothing scarier than knowing the woman you love is in
danger or could be hurt.  It goes beyond
being scared. You have to tell yourself to keep breathing, to keep functioning.
You’re so beyond terrified that your body won’t function unless you tell it to.
    Tell us about your
significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
    Aislinn is a relief
worker in Sierra Leone when I meet her. She is a bit of a restless soul and
left her home and career as a teacher to search for what and where she will be
happy. Like me, she lost her family when she was young and is a bit of a loner
because of that. Aislinn is a force of nature and is the only person in my life
that has no problem standing up to me. She is beautiful and funny and she is a
loving and kind person. I knew the second I saw her that I wanted her to be
    mine.
    What is your family
    like?
    I don’t have a
conventional family. I know my parents are still alive, but I lost them a long
time ago. My family consists of two guys I consider my brothers; Patrick and
Logan. I met Patrick when I was a kid. We were both homeless on the streets of
Cambodia. I took him under my wing and we have been a family every since.  Patrick and I met Logan years later. He helps
run Fairlane Trade International. Logan isn’t much of a talker, but he is a
solid person and you can depend on him for anything. Something haunts his past,
but he doesn’t talk about it. So we don’t ask about it.
    What special skills
    do you rely on?
    I was left on the
streets of Cambodia as a kid. I had to learn how to survive or I’d die. I have
been in the military, I have been in an off shoot sector of the United Nations
peace keeping organization and then I rose through the ranks of the arms
company. I am good at a number of things. Most of these are things that the
majority of people would have no clue how to do. I have been trained by the
best military leaders and have acquired a very specialized subset of skills.
    If someone from your
past showed up, who would you NOT want it to be, and why?
    For obvious reasons,
I would not want Rick to show up out of the blue. I took his company over and
he is a man set on vengeance. There are few things more dangerous than a man
    fueled by vengeance.
    Why are you happy (or
not happy) with the way your story ended?
    For the most part,
yes. The end of my story leaves one of the characters in a very dire situation.
That character’s story is the focal point of book two in the series.
    About the Writer
Olivia Night, a fictional character herself, has always been an avid
reader and writer. She found the romance genre in college and has never been
able to get enough. One sleepless night, the main characters of Book One in her
Seduction series sprang from her head fully formed. They demanded she tell
their story; so she did. As they revealed themselves, so did two other
intriguing characters. Those characters convinced her to give them their own
books because their stories were worth telling too. And so Olivia suddenly became
a romance author. When Olivia is not writing, she has the best job in the
world, which, too, will remain a secret. In her free time, she reads, write,
runs, or is, most likely, out emulating Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Olivia lives
in one of the most diverse and vibrant cities in the U.S.—Baltimore. She lives
with her cat, which she is convinced was a gladiator in his past life. Olivia
plans to continue being awesome at this thing called life. Really, that’s her
    only goal.
    .
What was your biggest challenge in writing this book?
The characters and storyline quite literally popped into my head one
day. Much of who the characters are was already there from the beginning. The
hard part in writing this book was filling in the in between. I knew how it was
going to end, but not how I was going to get there. A lot of it just came out
and flowed whereas other parts took me days to figure out.
Why did you choose this character for the interview today?
Brandt came to me before Aislinn did. He intrigued me from day one. I
love that he is so guarded and strong but also so incredibly vulnerable. I am
really attached to him and I wanted the readers to get a glimpse of him in
hopes they would find him as intriguing and loveable as I do.
When writing the book, what did you discover about this character that
    surprised you?
As I said before, Brandt is actually very vulnerable. I had no idea
how deep this ran in him. Aislinn is the perfect person for him. She can treat
him with care without him feeling coddled and sees no failing in his
    vulnerability.
Are any sequels planned for this book?
Yes! Book Two, “Seduction in Seville” will be out this winter (date
tbd) and the third book, “Seduction in Scotland” will be out early 2016. These
two books are Patrick’s and Logan’s stories.
I am also working on a separate series that has been occupying a lot
of my mental space recently. This new series will have four books all following
a different woman but all very close friends. It will be contemporary suspense
    as well.
What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
I am a huge dork with a passion for American History, Buffy the
    Vampire Slayer and Dean Winchester.
Why should readers who haven’t picked up one of your books before give
    this one a try?
My books are a perfect mix of suspense and romance. The fast paced
nature of the book will keep you reading and the love story will have you
wanting more! I have read a lot of books where it is too heavy on the suspense
plot and leaves you wishing for more love and other books that is too heavy on
the love and the plot never quite develops. I think (and hope) my books are the
    best of both worlds.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your readers?
I hope you love the characters as much as I do!
    About the Book
Title Seduction in Sierra Leone, The Men of FTI Book One
    Genre Contemporary Suspense
    Author  Olivia Night
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
    In the mangroves of
Sierra Leone, two strangers raised a world apart find themselves inextricably
connected. Seduction in Sierra Leone, the first in a series of three
novels, is a fast-paced tale of murder, lust, and love that transports the
reader to a foreign and mysterious world of danger.
    Aislinn Salameh, an
American relief worker, is searching for purpose in her self- imposed lonely
world. The stranger who enters her village on a blistering hot day looks more
animal than man. She knows she should stay far away but can’t stop herself from
being drawn to the mysterious man.
    Brandt Fairlane is a
man haunted by the sins of his past. Detached from others, Brandt has spent his
life alone. His line of work is too dangerous for the luxuries of love and
    family.
    When Brandt sees
Aislinn and her haunting eyes, he knows he must possess her. But when Brandt’s
past comes back from the dead and Aislinn is caught in the crossfire, it is up
to him to keep her safe. In order to survive, they must learn to rely on one
another. As they run for their lives, the heat between them becomes undeniable.
Now, Brandt must not only protect Aislinn from a madman committed to stealing
her away but he also must protect her from himself. Because if Brandt steals
her body and her heart, he’ll never let her go.

  • Character Interviews,  Erotic

    Peyton Lang from FL.E.S.H. by @daryldevore #RLFblog #eroticbillionaire

Daryl Devore shares details about the creation of Peyton Lang in the book FL.E.S.H.

    About the Book

Title FL.E.S.H. (Flames Electrifying Sexy Heat)
    Genre Erotic Contemporary Billionaire
    Author Daryl Devore
    Book heat level R
When secrets conflict with dreams, love explodes.
After a mistake by a surgeon’s scalpel shattered Fuchsia
Quinn’s dance career, she picked up the pieces of her life and moved forward.
As the owner of a small, struggling dance school in a depressed neighborhood
she supplements her income with a late night job at a dive bar. Haunted by the
fear of humiliation, if her secret is revealed, her life was under control
until the night he walked into the bar.
Peyton Lang, having run from a bad neighborhood, lives the
lifestyle of a successful billionaire. Frustrated that his current
multi-million dollar project is stalled, Peyton drops in to LEATHER-ICIOUS for
a simple drink and late night entertainment. What he saw was a beautiful
redhead. What he found was he wanted her.
After a lusty night with a hot pole dancer, Peyton and
Fuchsia’s worlds are about to collide.

    Introducing Peyton Lang

    Name: Peyton Francis Lang
    Age: 34
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Alaska, USA
    Profession: Billionaire
Describe his/ body build, skin tone, height and weight.
Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars:  Fair skinned, 6’2”, 180 lbs of toned muscle,
    small scar on chin
    Who is the
significant other in your character’s life?
    Fuchsia Quinn
    Tell us about this
    character, please.
Peyton travelled from Miami to East Millburg (which is based
on Detroit) to negotiate a business deal with a woman who was blocking a
multimillion dollar project. The evening before the meeting he drops into a
dive strip club for a drink and some entertainment. He is captivated by a red
headed pole dancer. By chance he meets her in a diner later that night. They
have a hook up at a local inn. Next day he meets the woman and it turns out to
be the pole dancer. She runs a small ballet school for underprivileged
children. She’d been a professional ballerina, but an accident and then an
    unsuccessful surgery ended her career.
Fuchsia Quinn is struggling with the loss of her dream job
and forced career change and the challenges and frustrations of teaching in a
severely depressed community. She’s furious with Peyton for trying to close her
school just to build a mall. But she’s also in love with the handsome and
    charming man.
    How does your hero
    dress?
Tailor man suits – Hugh Boss, Armani
    Does he scrape by,
    live comfortably, live extravagantly?
With a penthouse condo on the waterfront in Miami and a 3-storey
log cabin to retreat to on weekends in Alaska and a private jet to fly from
coast to coast- I’d say he lives extravagantly.
    What is your
    character’s viewpoint on wealth?
He loves wealth. His father ran out on the family and his
mother struggled to raise two children. His father was killed in a bar brawl
and left him a fortune which he then tripled in dollar worth.
    What is your
    character’s family like?
Peyton’s mother is an alcoholic. The struggles of her
younger life were too much and she took comfort in a bottle. Peyton and his
sister have tried to get her sober, but the lure of the whiskey is too much.
Peyton’s younger sister, Lanna, is a proud woman who loves her older brother
dearly. Peyton assumed the male father figure role after his father
disappeared. When the pressure got too intense he took to drinking and started
to run with a gang, but sobered up when Lanna confronted him.
    Is he close to
    family?
Very. His protective of his little sister and her daughter
and has built a lovely home for his mother in Miami and keeps her well looked
    after.
    Does he have
    children?
Not at the beginning of the book. He has a young niece he
calls Princess whom he adores. He adores her enough to sit through her ballet
    recital.
    How do others
perceive your character based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
A successful rich billionaire who has a lucky streak a mile
wide. Not completely true. He got a headstart, but he worked hard to grow that
    beginning into a sizeable fortune.
    Does your character
care about what others assume about him?
No. He is his own man. The world can follow him.
    BONUS:
What do you think your biggest flaw is?
My Temper. It has gotten the better of me on several occasions and gets me into trouble quite a lot.
    When there is a
setback, what doubt or flaw surfaces?
My arrogance. When Fuchsia kept tossing up road blocks
stopping the construction of my latest project, my pride jumped forward
demanding “Who is this woman? And why does she think she can stop me? Me!”
    What can I say – I’m human
    How do you handle
    challenges?
I rub my hands together and settle down to work it out. I
have a basic belief anything can be solve I f you throw enough money at it.

    About Your Writer

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Because I was pounding on the inside of her head demanding
    that my story be written.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
The scene where I was an absolute bastard to Fuchsia. It
showed my angry, petty side and I’d rather the world just thought of me as a
    handsome, charming demigod.
    What other character
from your book do you think your writer should write a book about, and why?
My sister Lanna. She had an interesting life being my little
sister, but if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be the man I am today. She made me
sober up and grow up. I owe her a lot.
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
I don’t know that she loves to write. While I was bouncing
around in her head there were a lot of other characters in there – several
people, some not human and even a dragon. I think she writes to get us out of
her head so she can sleep at night.
    Is there anything
you’d like to say to your writer?
Thank you for writing Fuchsia into my life. I was just a
workaholic. The desire to make more money was my driving force. Fuchsia opened
    my eyes and my heart.
