    Meet Tarrant Cooper from Drakon’s Prey @njwaltersauthor #RLFblog #PNR

Welcome Tarrant Cooper from Drakon’s Prey, a new paranormal
    romance.
    Genre Paranormal Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Valeriya Azarov turned her back on the family business to
write and illustrate children’s books. But with a sister who leads the Knights
of the Dragon, it’s impossible to get away from the secret society whose
mission is to destroy and enslave dragons. When information falls into her
hands along with the opportunity to save at least one of the ancient creatures,
she can’t turn away any longer.
When a woman moves into the cabin above Tarrant Cooper’s
secret underground lair, he’s both suspicious and intrigued. He hasn’t lasted
four thousand years being careless, so when he suspects her of being a part of
the Knights, the plan is to kidnap her and find out how much the organization
knows about him and his brothers.
He’s drawn to Valeriya, but trusting her could get him
killed. Even if she’s a pawn in the war between drakons and Knights, giving her
    his heart would mean forever.

    Introducing Tarrant Cooper

Age: 4000 years, give or take a few
    Gender: male
Birthplace: A small village in the Middle East that has long
    since gone to dust.
Profession: I basically control the airwaves.
    Ethnicity/ Species (for scifi/fantasy characters): I’m a
drakon, the son of a dragon and a human woman.
    Please provide a
    physical description of yourself.
In my human form, I’m 6’8″ with short black hair and blue
eyes. I have a tattoo that covers the entire left side of my body from my neck
to my ankles. It’s a birthmark and is a swirling pattern that is silver and
outlined in the same blue as my eyes.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a drakon. That means I don’t like to talk about myself.
The less people who know about my kind, the better.
    Who is the significant
    other in your life?
My Valeriya. She’s one of a kind and she’s mine. *growls
    possessively*
    Are you book-smart, self-taught,
    widely-experienced?
    I’m self-taught and widely-experienced. *laughs* I’ve been
around for a very, very long time. I’ve watched mankind go from mostly
illiterate to everyone having books and information at their fingertips. From
primate communication to now having a good chunk of the population walking
around with a cell phone stuck against their ear.
Do you get by, live comfortably,
    live extravagantly?
    I’m comfortable in my below-ground
lair. It has everything I need. My biggest expense is my computer equipment.
Money doesn’t mean much to me. I have more than enough for a hundred lifetimes.
And I can always make more.
    Are you close to family?
I’m close to my brothers. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do
or no one I wouldn’t kill to protect them. And now I have my Valeriya. She’s
    everything to me.
How well do you know your
    neighbors?
*snorts* I don’t have neighbors. I live in an underground
bunker in the middle of nowhere. And that’s the way I like it.
    What secrets do you know
about people around you that you do NOT share?
Nothing is a secret from me. Information is my passion, my
life’s blood. If it’s out there, I can find it. There is nowhere I can’t go
online. I mostly don’t care what people do as long as they leave me and mine
    alone. If they don’t…
    What are your biggest
    hopes and dreams?
I want to destroy the Knights of the Dragon and live in peace
with Valeriya. The Knights have been hunting my kind for centuries and we’ve
mostly left them alone. This time, they’ve gone too far and I’m taking the hunt
    to them.

    Meet Katrina from Jager @jsubject #RLFblog #scifi #romance

Welcome Katrina from Jager, a new scifi adventure romance.

    Jager Galactic Defenders #2

    Genre SciFi Adventure Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Jager’s new squad of Defenders has completed training, but the spoiled princess who has grated on his nerves since her first day of training is called back to Hemera for a yearly celebration. When Princess Katrina doesn’t show up, Jager must find her and drag her home, where he wishes she would stay.
Katrina is a Defender, not a princess. And there is no way she wants to return to a planet she hates for some stupid ceremony. Not when she could be out killing Erebus with her squad.
But when a new enemy threatens both their lives, they must work together to survive.

    Introducing Katrina

    Age: 20 Earth years
    Gender: Female
Birthplace: Earth, though I was conceived on my mother’s home planet, Hemera
Profession: I’m a Galactic Defender, not a Princess.
Species (for scifi/fantasy characters): My mother is Hemera and my father is Kalaren.

Please provide a physical description of yourself.

I can fit in on Earth better than most other Defenders. I have light brown skin with long, dark hair, and dark brown eyes. I’m fit. I need to be to bring down the Erebus. They’re not exactly lightweights, and I prefer hand-to-hand combat rather than the plazers and bows the other Defenders use. I don’t have an eyebrow ridge like my dad, but I do have the ‘V’ of freckles across my shoulders and down my back like my mom.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I was born and raised on Earth. A couple years ago, my home was attacked by the Erebus. It was after a Galactic Defender arrived to help us
that I found out the man who I believed to be my father wasn’t my dad, and that I wasn’t Terran. Turns out the Defender who arrived on Earth is my dad, my mom was the long lost princess of Hemera, and I haven’t been on Earth since that day. But, I’m itching to go back. I know I can’t stay there, but I just want to see what’s changed, how my friends are doing.

Who is the significant other in your life?

I don’t have a significant other, like a boyfriend. Jeff Bennett and I almost had a thing on Earth, but I had to leave the planet, and didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. My squad leader, Jager, is hot, but we don’t exactly get along. And then I have Jace, my best friend. He’s the only Defender who has my back, so we spend a lot of time together. But, he’s nothing more than a friend.

    How do you dress?

I wear my blue Defender uniform. Though, sometimes when I’m training on my own, I’ll wear a pair of leggings and a sports bra. If I lived with my parents on Hemera, I’d have to wear their royal garb. While the lehengacholi I wore for my mother’s coronation was beautiful, it’s not s something I’d want to wear all the time.

Please tell us about your education.

I graduated from high school on Earth, though I didn’t make the ceremony. I was supposed to go to university that fall, but wasn’t on the planet to do so. While the Hemera council taught me a bit about Hemera culture, I’ve learned a lot about the races belonging to the Galactic Alliance as a Defender. I’ve also learned how to bring down an Erebus by hand. Not stuff I could have learned on Earth.

What kinds of things do you always carry (in pockets or purse)?

I don’t have pockets or a purse—I have no need for them—but I carry my zuranium blade in a special pouch in my boot. It goes with me
everywhere I go, because I never know when I’ll meet up with an Erebus that needs to be taken out.

    What is your family like?

They’re great people, really, just a tad bit overprotective.  My mom is now the Queen of Hemera. She’s wonderful, and rules far differently than her father and brother did. The commoners are no longer starving and dressed in rags. Everyone works together for the good of the planet. And with the dome the Alliance installed for her, the planet no longer had to worry about an Erebus attack. My dad is a legend among the Defenders. I hope I can be half as good as he was. He was leader of Echo squad for many Galactic years, and killed more Erebus than I can ever imagine. Then there’s my sister Gwenodyn. She’s not really my sister, but my parents are raising her after the last Erebus attack on Hemera when her mother was killed. She’s a sweetheart, but not when she uses her Mingot mind-reading abilities to get her own way.

When (if) you lie or are upset, what gives you away?

I scratch my arms. It’s a habit I wish I didn’t have, as it totally gives me away when I’m lying.

What would you like to tell your writer?

It would have been nice if you’d given me more than one friend. Though, I wouldn’t trade Jace for the universe. And why is this book
called Jager when it’s supposed to be my story?

for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.

    About Drakon’s Promise

    Genre Paranormal Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Darius Varkas is a drakon. He’s neither human nor dragon.
    He’s both.
He’s also the target of an ancient order who want to capture
all drakons for their blood. When fresh, a drakon’s blood can cure any illness
and prolong a human’s life, and the Knights will stop at nothing to get it.
When librarian Sarah Anderson stumbles across a rare book
belonging to the Knights of the Dragon, she’s quickly thrust into a dangerous
world of secrets and shifters and things she never would have believed
possible. When the Knights realize Sarah has a secret of her own, she becomes
just as much a target as Darius. Her scary dragon shifter just might be her
    best chance at survival.

    Introducing Darius Varkas

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you
    here today.
    Name: Darius Varkas
Age: 4000 years, give or take a few
    Gender: male
Birthplace: A small village that has long since crumbled to
    dust
    Profession: Entrepreneur
Ethnicity/Species (if not human): I’m a drakon, the son of a
    dragon and a human woman.
    Describe your body and
build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples,
    freckles, or scars.
In my human form, I’m 6’10” with black shoulder-length
hair and green eyes. I have a tattoo that covers the entire left side of my
body from my neck to my ankles. It’s a birthmark and is a swirling pattern that
is bronze and outline in the same green as my eyes.
    Who is the significant
    other in your life?
That would be my Sarah. She’s the most beautiful, most
amazing woman in the world. Brilliant too. After all, she chose me.
    Please tell us a
    little about yourself.
I’m a drakon so I like my privacy. I’m not even sure why I
agreed to do this interview. *grumbles*
    Please tell us about
    your education.
I’ve lived four thousand years. I speak and write many
languages, including some long forgotten by time. I’ve learned alongside
mankind. Airplanes were a particular favorite invention of mine, as being a
pilot allows me to take to the skies nowadays when it isn’t as easy to simply
shift and soar. Computers I can use but I don’t particularly like them.
Do you get by, live comfortably,
    live extravagantly?
I’ve lived for a very long time. I’m also an earth drakon,
which means I know how to find precious metals and gems. I’ve accumulated quite
a hoard over the course of my life. And like any self-respecting drakon, I
    guard what is mine.
    Are you close to family?
My brothers are my family and we are very close. We had
different mothers but the same dragon sire. Of course, now I have Sarah. They
    all love her.
    Can you keep a secret?
    Why or why not?
Of course I can keep a secret. I’m a drakon. Of course,
telling all of you about myself isn’t exactly keeping that a secret.
    What secrets do you know
about people around you that you do NOT share?
I know all my brothers’ secrets, but I would never betray
    their trust.
    What is your biggest need?
My biggest need is to wipe the Knights of the Dragon from
the face of the planet. They want to capture me and my kind for their own
profit and to prolong their lives by drinking our blood. We were content to
leave them alone, but they will not leave us in peace. And they threatened
Sarah and will always be a threat to her and to my brothers. They have to be
    eliminated.
    What are your biggest
    hopes and dreams?
I dream of being able to live my life in peace with Sarah.
    What is your biggest personal
    flaw?
I have no flaws. *turns to Sarah* Stop laughing. She says I’m
set in my ways and stubborn. Overprotective too. But since I’m always right, I
don’t see that as a flaw.
Who in your life has the
power to hurt you the most and why?
Sarah has the power to destroy me. She is my heart. I trust
her more than I thought it possible to every trust a woman.
    What would you like
    to tell your writer?
I want to thank her for bringing Sarah into my life. I also
want to let her know this is my first and last interview. I’m done.

Dani: Stressing the Heroine from Taunt @Eve_Dangerfield #RLFblog #thriller

Dani: Stressing the Heroine from Taunt @Eve_Dangerfield #RLFblog #thriller
Every heroine has a story. She has a background, a history, and a past. This interview allows us to meet a heroine and get to know her better, by focusing on how she handles being relaxed, as well as how she handles stress.

    About Eve Dangerfield

Eve has loved romance novels since she first started swiping
her grandmother’s paperbacks at the age of fourteen. Now she writes her own
unapologetically sexy tales about complex women and
gorgeous-but-slightly-tortured men. Eve currently lives in Melbourne with her
lovely sister and a rabbit named Billy.

    About Taunt

    Genre Contemporary Romance, Erotic, Thriller
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Daniel Schwartz never meant to uncover the apocalypse,
unfortunately for the Kiwi hacktivist, that’s exactly what happened. Yet while
it’s clear to her what she should do; cover it back up and get completely
smashed, the rest of the world doesn’t agree. A shady corporation places her in
a beachside prison where they promise to hold her until she agrees to talk.
Dani would be pretty annoyed if she weren’t:
    a) Biologically incapable of being annoyed
    b) Very intrigued by the men hired to guard her
    c) Extremely hungover
John, Colt, and Seb have poured a lot of time and money into their private
security business the last thing they need is to waste six weeks babysitting a
hyperactive hippie. Sadly they’ve signed a shady but watertight contract. Each
of the three men finds himself drawn to the weird, pop-obsessed Daniel and she
to them. As they become entangled in each other’s lives Daniel is forced to answer
some big questions such as; how can you escape when there’s nowhere safe to go?
How can a commitmentphobe fall for not one, but three different men? And, most
importantly, should New Zealanders kick people who call them Hobbits? (Yes.)
Taunt is a heart-stopping erotic thriller; chock full of science, nail-biting
suspense, period jokes and good old fashioned lust.

    The Heroine’s Relaxed Side

    This heroine is at a
party. Considering her story, describe the party.
The party would be an outdoors event hosted by Daniel’s
eco-terrorist organization Grassroots. It’s a chance to connect and unwind with
other members and there would be live music, plenty of food and drink and a
    casual dress code.
    How does the heroine
feel about being this particular party, and what body language is she
    displaying that gives it away?
Daniel would be thrilled to attend, bouncing around trying
to talk with as many people as possible while trying to peer-pressure others
into getting loose and making mistakes. She never stops smiling or talking,
    unless she’s kissing that is.
    Is she more likely to
    mingle or remain aloof?
Mingle. Daniel loves being around others and more often than
    not, the center of attention.
    If she drinks, what is
her drink of choice at this party?
Daniel doesn’t drink as her biochemistry doesn’t allow for
it. She is however, very partial to substances of dubious legality. Also weed.
    How much drink is her
    usual?
Weed. Or fruit juice in glasses that make it look like
    alcohol.
    The heroine figures out
where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid
someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party?
It would completely be to drag a shy friend, perhaps a
scientist or socially awkward programmer back into the fray. Once they’d been
brought back to the party she’d make it her personal mission to get them drunk
    and laid.
    Is she likely to latch
onto a friend and stay with him/her and ignore others, or is she the friend
    that others latch onto?
She is the friend that others latch onto; the bigger problem
can be maintaining her attention once you have it. Daniel is very distractible.
    If someone picked a fight
at this party, how is the heroine going to handle it?
Daniel is, by her own admission, a lover not a fighter. As
Grassroots is a pacifist organization it would be kind of weird for a fight to
get out of hand at one of their parties, but if it did Daniel would probably
dump punch/cake on the offender’s heads and tell them to stop or she’d leak
    their information to the Feds.
    Is the heroine the one
most likely to get tossed out of the party, or the one who does the tossing?
Tossed out. For sure. No questions asked.
    Will she know when to
leave, or stay late and make a nuisance of herself?
She will stay late as she possibly can (unless she picks
up). Being a nuisance is kind of Daniel’s wheelhouse.

    The Heroine’s Stressed Out Side

    How does the heroine handle
it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls her aside when she was
    blameless in a situation?
Lies her ass off, says whatever she thinks they want to hear
then escapes at the earliest possible opportunity.
    How does the heroine react
    to hearing a scream?
Runs towards the sound without thinking.
    If she sees someone being
assaulted, what is the FIRST thing that crosses her mind?
What the actual fuck? Stop it you butthole!
    If she sees someone
being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing she does?
Runs towards them and tries to break them apart, unless she
knows she’ll likely be hurt and overpowered in which case she would call the
cops/throw something/ find an alternative plan of action.
    This heroine attempts
to rescue someone and realizes that she is in over her head. The odds are against
her and there is no way out. She is going to get her butt handed to her. What does
    she do?
Fights as hard as she can for as long as she can, giving
    everything she has.
    The heroine runs into
the one person from her past she wanted to avoid. She can’t get out of the
situation and must interact with him/her in some way. What does she do?
Barrels into the awkwardness and tries to overwhelm the
person with the sheer force of her personality.
    Someone younger than
the heroine is in charge of the situation, and they are handling it badly,
perhaps bungling things. How does the heroine deal with it?
Tact isn’t Daniel’s strong point. She would tell the person
straight up that they’re screwing the pooch and either suggest improvements or
conduct a mutiny to get the situation resolved another way.
    The heroine is in
physical pain but must bear up under it and keep going. What does she tell herself
in order to get through the situation?
Daniel has a rare chemical disorder that affects her ability
to feel physical pain, however she is capable of feeling distressed. In those
moments she closes her eyes and tries to focus on happy memories from the past.
    What mentor’s words
come to mind in a bad situation?
She recalls John Blackwood, her lover, telling her to relax
and count her breaths, then she does it.

Meet Madison Lockwood from Seduction in Seville #RomanticSuspense @olivianightread #RLFblog

Meet Madison Lockwood from Seduction in Seville by Olivia Night.

    Author Bio

Olivia Night, a fictional character herself, has always been an avid reader and writer. She found the romance genre in college and has never been able to get enough. One sleepless night, the main characters of Book One in her Men of FTI  series sprang from her head fully formed. They demanded she tell their story; so she did. As they revealed themselves, so did two other intriguing characters. Those characters convinced her to give them their own books because their stories were worth telling too. And so Olivia suddenly became a romance author. When Olivia is not writing, she has the best job in the world, which, too, will remain a secret. In her free time, she reads, write, drinks wine, or is, most likely, out emulating Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Olivia lives in one of the most diverse and vibrant cities in the U.S.—Baltimore. She lives with her cat, which she is convinced was a gladiator in his past life. Olivia plans to continue being awesome at this thing called life. Really, that’s her only goal.

    About the Book

    Introducing Madison Lockwood

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
    Name: Madison Lockwood
    Age: 26
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: Madison, Georgia
    Profession: Nurse
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Caucasian
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
Short, curvy, curly brown hair, big doe-like brown eyes, 5’1 110 lbs.
Who is the significant other in your life? Patrick Kane, the man who saved me years ago.
Please tell us a little about yourself. I grew up pretty sheltered. I was adopted and my parents were a bit over protected. In college I convinced them to let me join the study abroad program to Seville, Spain. None of us knew how that decision would change our lives forever.
    How do you dress?
I tend to like the classic style, meaning 50’s and 60’s. I like high waisted skirts and ballet flats with skinny jeans. It makes me feel super feminine.
How do others perceive you based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
That I am delicate or fragile. Perhaps at one time it was an accurate assumption. It isn’t anymore.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you most NOT want it to be, and why?
The exact person who did show up recently, Dardan Kotta. The man who abducted me and kept me prisoner in a large human trafficking ring.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
For a very long time I wasn’t sure I would ever be able to allow myself to trust or be vulnerable. I still struggle with this at times, but Patrick helps me through.
What past event causes you the most fear?
The months I spent in the basement.
How emotionally expressive are you to others?
Not very, at least not anymore. With Patrick I am learning to be emotionally expressive again. But right now he is pretty much the only person I feel comfortable being emotional with.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?
It is possible to move beyond the things you think will hinder or define you forever.

Meet Sorcha Fay from A Theft of Magic.

    Author Bio

Cara McKinnon wrote her first fantasy romance at the age of six, about a unicorn couple that falls in love and has adventures (there is also pie). Now she writes about humans falling in love and having adventures, but she can’t quite stop including magic. She loves history and historical romance, so she decided to set her books in an alternate Victorian era where magic is not only real, but a part of everyday life. Cara attended the best genre writing school in the world, Seton Hill University, where she received an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction and found her writing tribe. She lives on the East Coast of the US with her husband, two kids, and an oversized lapdog named Jake.

    About the Book

    Title A Theft of Magic
    Genre Fantasy Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
A woman sworn to truth. A man who deals in lies. A passion lighting the way to love…or loss.
At the behest of the Duchess of Fay, Ronan McCarrick, thief, smuggler, and Irish revolutionary, travels to the Isle of Skye, the domain of Sorcha Fay. She is known as the Seeress of Skye, an elusive figure who rarely leaves the island. Ronan’s arrival triggers one of her defensive spells, incinerating his clothing and everything he’s carrying. Including the letter that would have told Sorcha why he has come to Skye.
Despite an instant attraction to the naked and furious Irishman, Sorcha believes that Ronan is an interloper who has been attacking her wards for months. Even when part of his story is confirmed, she still mistrusts him. But when she discovers that two powerful objects are missing from the Fay vaults–someplace he couldn’t have been–she’ll need his help to steal them back.
If he doesn’t steal her heart first.

    Introducing Sorcha Fay

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
    Name: Sorcha Fay
    Age: 26
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: Fay House, Skye, Scotland
    Profession: Caretaker of Fay House
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Human
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
I’m very short and very curvy. I curve out far more than I curve in! My hair is light blonde, with a streak of silver/pearl color that everyone in my family gets when they’ve used magic long enough. I’m very pale, as you might expect from a blonde, with pale blue eyes. I’ve been told they look like a summer sky.
Who is the significant other in your life?
The only significant thing in my life at the moment is Fay House. But I recently met a man named Ronan, and if I can trust him…
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’ve spent nearly all of my life in the Highlands and the Isles of Scotland. I am in charge of Fay House, the ancestral home of my clan, but the rest of the family only comes here once a year, so most of the time I’m alone with my small staff and the tenants. Like most of the members of my clan, I can do magic, and I am known for having frequent visions of the future and very strong magical intuition.
On what special skills do you rely?
My magical intuition provides me with extra information about people and situations. I can usually tell when things are about to go wrong, although that doesn’t mean I can do something about it!
Are any of your skills a source of pride or embarrassment, and if so, which ones and why?
I have frequent visions of the future, and coupled with my intuition, I’ve been given the nickname the “Seeress of Skye.” But I dislike that name, because I can’t control my visions the way true Seers can. The visions come at their own whims, and are about wildly different things. Sometimes they give warnings, or show me scenes from my own future, but most often they are of distance times, places, and people.
    What is your family like?
My family is big, loud, and rambunctious. It is always a bit of a shock when they descend on me at midsummer and stay for two weeks, or when I travel to a gathering for a marriage, birth, or funeral. But though I do miss them when they aren’t around, I prefer my solitude, quiet, and peace.
Are you involved in your community?
Very much! Our family owns all of the land in the vicinity, including the town, so everyone nearby is a tenant of Clan Fay, and a nominal member of the clan, though not everyone has sworn oaths to Le Fay, our chieftess. As the representative of the clan on Skye, I settle disputes, collect rents, and oversee any needed improvements or repairs. I am also the strongest mage in the vicinity, so if anyone needs a spell cast, they come to me.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you most want it to be, and why?
I would like to know who my father is. He was out of my mother’s life before she knew she was pregnant, and she never told me his name, or where I could find him. I don’t even know if he’s still alive.
If you could make any one thing happen, what would it be?
I would have the solicitors who manage Fay House’s finances actually open the pursestrings and allow me to invest in improvements to the house and grounds. At the moment, I am only allowed enough money to cover repairs and upkeep, but the house is in desperate need of modernization and renovation.
When (if) you lie or are upset, what gives you away?
It is very difficult for me to lie. When I try it, I am usually stiff and awkward about it, and stumble over my words. I also flush easily with my pale skin, and lying makes me feel embarrassed, so even if I manage to get the lie out, my cheeks and throat give me away.
