    Gravedigger by CeeRee Fields

Hunting a killer is easy. Learning to love is hard.
    Genre Romantic Suspense
Book heat level (based on movie ratings) R
Josephine ‘Jo’ Rayburn has no luck with love. Between the demands of her job as a homicide detective, finding the perfect yarn for her knitting projects, and her nosy family, she doesn’t have time to find her happily ever after, nor does she really believe it exists. Until she’s assigned to the Gravedigger task force where she meets Rhysian ‘Rhys’ Harrison, the sexy Coroner’s assistant.
Rhys Harrison thought he had found love with the perfect woman. But his parents’ death forced him to choose between his fiancĂ©e and caring for his brother, he chose his brother. His only regret, the medical degree he abandoned to work in the Coroner’s office. When the Gravedigger leaves his latest victim at the gates of a cemetery, Rhys and Jo are thrown together, her prickly personality interests him, but it’s her deeply hidden romantic side that captivates him.
After one of the task force members is shot, Rhys’s fears of losing Jo, like he’s lost so much already, threaten to rip them apart. Can she convince him that love is worth having no matter the risk? Or will he play it safe, leaving before his heart becomes too attached?

    Introducing Detective Josephine ‘Jo’ Rayburn

    Please tell me about yourself.
    *Jo clears her throat*
“So, I’m thirty. A female.” She huffs, “I feel like I’m being grilled.”
I grin. “That’s because you are. Continue, please.”
“Fine. I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. And I’m a homicide detective.” Jo frowns. “Do you wanna know my sign?”
I shake my head. “Nope, I already know it. How about telling the readers your stats.”
“You mean like I’m a perp?”
“Well, you are being grilled like one.”
Jo rubs her forehead. “I’ve gotta talk to the captain about sending me on these dang interviews.”
    “Come on, Josephine, keep going.”
My comment was met with a narrow-eyed squint. “Don’t call me that.”
“Then keep going.” I swear sometimes my characters are so stubborn.
“I have brown hair. It’s plain not like what you hear about in all those books. Just boring brown. I’m short and skinny. Not scrawny as some of the other officers like to say but skinny. It comes in handy as perps underestimate me. Until they meet my gaze.”
    I looked into Jo’s light-colored blue eyes.
    “Most find the color disconcerting.”
“I can imagine. Especially if you look at them like you’re looking at me, right now.”
    “How’s that?”
“Like I’m a bug under a microscope.” I flipped to the next question. “So, tell us about the significant other in your life.”
“Like my boyfriend? You know I hate that term, but that would be Rhysian ‘Rhys’ Harrison. Or if you’re talking about the guy who has my back when bullets start flying, well that’s my partner Sullivan Krane, also known as Icky which I will never call him in public.” Jo holds out her hand. “You know what? Pass me the sheet. I’ll fill it out so this interview goes faster.”
Refraining from rolling my eyes at the stubborn woman, I pass over the questionnaire.
    How do you dress?
It depends. If I’m headed to a crime scene, then I prefer black or dark colors in case blood gets on me. Or in case I have to chase a perp. If I’m going out with Rhys, then I might wear something in blue as he loves that color.
If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?
My snarky replies. My partner, Sullivan, brings it out in me. As does working with my half-sister, Karma. As well as Jones and Brown, I swear those two should come with a warning label.
Please tell us about your education.
I grew up around cops. My stepdad, Carl is Chief of Police in Moody… well, he was. He’s retired now. My two older brothers are cops, pretty much all Carl’s family are cops, so I’ve grown up dissecting crime scenes and hearing about cases as they would sometimes bounce ideas off each other. I also have a Criminal Justice degree with a minor in Psychology. But I am by no means a head doctor; I just like to know how the bad guy thinks.
    Are you book-smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
I wouldn’t say book-smart as I don’t have much time to read. I’d probably go with self-taught as spending time sparring and at the gun range is me teaching myself to be better.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
I live in a one-bedroom apartment. My most extravagant thing in there is a table my mom wanted to donate to Goodwill, but it held too many memories. So, I took it. My other extravagance would be the corkboard that takes up the wall across from my couch and Lazy-boy which I hang my tough cases on to try to puzzle out as I knit. *Narrows my gaze* Yeah, I knit and that needs to be kept close to the vest.
What is your viewpoint on wealth?
I don’t have a problem with wealth. Rhysian’s wealthy, he and his brother live in a house in Mountain Brook that looks like a flipping castle. Not my thing, but I love Rhys, so I accept the money part of it.
On what special skills do you rely?
My brains and my gut. I can beat Sullivan at the shooting range and Karma in a no holds barred sparring match.
Are any of your skills a source of pride or embarrassment, and if so, which ones and why?
I’ve been studying one form or another of martial arts after I was kidnapped when I was five. I love the challenge of learning the forms and applying them in my everyday life when needed. But I am by no means a master.
What kinds of things do you always carry (in pockets or purse)?
My badge and a few things that help get me out of a jam. Like a Swiss army knife. A backup gun in my ankle holster for those ‘just in case’ emergencies. A set of lockpicks, because you never know when you’ll get locked in someplace. And a few other odds and ends.
    What is your family like?
My mom, Maddy, and stepdad, Carl, are amazing. I have two older stepbrothers and a half-brother and half-sister that are Maddy and Carl’s biological children.
My biological dad keeps his distance. He’s not to be trusted. I’ve got three half-sisters from him and the women he’s been with.
    Are you close to family?
I’m very close with the Rayburns. They’ve always been in my life.
Again, my bio-dad’s family. My half-sisters have begun making noises that they want a relationship. I’m on the fence since they still have contact with bio-dad.
Are you involved in your community?
As long as you consider arresting bad guys and making sure we have a rock-solid case community involvement… then yep, I’m all kinds of involved.
How well do you know your neighbors?
Neighbors? Wait you mean the people in the other apartments? Hmmm, I don’t think I’ve seen them. But then again, I work odd hours. They have to be good people though, since I’ve never arrested any of them and as far as I know no one from the police department has responded to any complaints.
Now that you brought it up, it might be a good idea to make sure none of them are on the shady side. (Jo shoots a text to her partner Sullivan)… done. Next question.
Do you see morality as black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
If you did the crime, then I’m going to arrest you. Morality and the many shades are for judges and juries to decide, not me. I deal in homicides, which means someone’s killed someone else. So, their moral compass is screwed up by the time I get involved.
How do others perceive you based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
If they don’t meet my gaze, most think I’m harmless. For some reason, the second they meet my cold eyes perps run… usually in the opposite direction. Then I gotta chase them… It’s not pleasant. Sometimes they duck in alleys when I tackle them and those places are cesspools. Not as bad as flop houses, mind you, but almost.
Do you care about what others assume about you?
Nope. I don’t like some of the flack I get from the older cops for being a female. But I hold my own when they decide they want a piece of me. Whether it’s verbal or in the ring.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you most want it to be, and why?
Those I want to stay in touch with from my past… I stay in touch with, so they don’t need to show up. They’re always welcome for a beer and chat.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you most NOT want it to be, and why?
That’s gonna be a long list… Do you have more paper? I especially need to do a star system, because some of the people I arrested need to be at the top of the list.
Oh, and I really need to include my bio-dad’s contacts in that list. Great. Now I’m going to have to call Karma for their information and she’s going to probably want to come down here to see what’s going on. You know what, let’s just start with the arrests and go from there.
Can you keep a secret? Why or why not?
Yes, it’s called blackmail fodder. And usually I have videos to back it up, just in case.
What secrets do you know about people around you that you do NOT share?
I think my biological father is a hitman and I think he ordered the hit on the group of men who kidnapped me when I was a kid. I’ve never told anyone that and I won’t share that willy-nilly. But you seem like the type who can keep a secret.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
When my teammates get injured because of a call I make. I always blame myself, because I’m the one in charge of catching the Gravedigger and it’s my orders my team is following.
What past event causes you the most fear?
That someone else will get hurt while trying to catch the Gravedigger.
    What is your biggest need?
My biggest need would be for Rhysian not to leave me because of my job. No matter how dangerous it can be. He needs to have faith that I’ll do everything I can to come home in one piece but life happens. He just has some trouble with his brother being involved in that hit-and-run when he was a kid which caused Rian to be brain damaged. Then Rhys’s parents died in a car accident, so it’s not just my job that could kill me but everyday life.
So, he needs to learn to live in the moment.
What are your biggest hopes and dreams?
Keeping Rhysian in my life while still keeping the job I love.
What would help you face hardship and meet any challenge?
Catching criminals so they won’t prey on innocent citizens again. Seeing the abject relief on the victims faces when I close a case, that helps me face another day and solve another case. It’s not easy, their loved one is still dead, but at least the murderer isn’t out there hurting, or killing, someone else.
What is your biggest personal flaw?
I’m prickly. I don’t let just anyone get to know me and I don’t trust many people. My family I trust to have my back and Sullivan. Rhys I’m learning to lower my guard around him, but it’s a process.
    How do you handle challenges?
I meet them head on. I don’t like leaving something dangling that could cause me problems down the road. Especially, if it can come back to bite me in the rear.
    What is your breaking point?
When one of my team gets hurt because of a call I made. I’d rather be the one to take the bullet than one of my team. Luckily, Rhys is there to help pick up the pieces and put me back together.
    How do you express disappointment?
Usually at the gun range or in the ring.
How emotionally expressive are you to others?
Rhysian draws my emotions from me and makes me softer. For everyone else, no… Just no. I have a gun and I am not afraid to use it if you get in my personal space. Just so you know.
When (if) you lie or are upset, what gives you away?
Nothing to an outsider, I’ve learned how to keep a poker face due to all the crime scenes I’ve been called to. However, Sullivan and my family can read me like a book. They know the more stoic I become, the tighter rein I have on my emotions, the more upset I am. If anything, I become colder.
Who in your life has the power to hurt you the most and why?
Rhysian has the power to rip my heart out, since I’ve allowed him behind my heavily defended walls. My family and Sullivan as well, but they wouldn’t. Rhys is another story, there’s nothing to tie us together but promises. If I can just convince him to live in the moment and quit dwelling on all the ways I could die because of my job, we’d have our happily ever after. Otherwise, I’m terrified he’ll leave me.
What would you like to tell your writer?
Oh, this is my favorite question. *Josephine scribbles madly* ‘Quit putting me and Karma, my half-sister, on the same dang work assignments. It’s annoying. We don’t play well together and it’s never going to get better.’
Josephine’s writer laughs maniacally… Little does Josephine know I have Karma moving to Birmingham, Alabama to take one of the Homicide Detective positions open.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?
I will catch Gravedigger and when I do I swear I’ll bring him to justice.

I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your heroine, but first, tell us about the book.

Star Cruise Mystery Dancer by Veronica Scott

    Genre Scifi romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
New Sectors novel, included in Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 3 anthology. Tassia Megg is a woman on the run after the death of her elderly guardian. Her search to get off the planet in a hurry comes when chance directs her to an open dance audition for the luxury cruise liner Nebula Zephyr’s resident troupe. If there is one thing Tassia can do, it is dance!
Security Officer Liam Austin is suspicious of the newest performer to join the Comettes. She shows all the signs of being a woman on the run and seems to fit the Sectors-wide broadcast description of a missing thief, accused of stealing priceless artifacts. As he gets to know Tassia during the cruise, he starts to wonder if she’s something more – a long vanished princess in hiding from deadly political enemies of her family perhaps? And what’s the story with the three-eyed feline companion other crew members swear Tassia brought aboard the ship? Does the animal even exist?
As the ship approaches its next port of call, all the issues come to a boil and Liam must decide if he’ll step in to help Tassia or betray her. Life is about to get very interesting aboard the Nebula Zephyr as Liam tries to uncover the truth. Could F’rrh, the peculiar alien cat he has been hearing about, be the key to the mystery and Tassia’s fate?

Know the Heroine from Star Cruise: Mystery Dancer

It’s late, she’s bored. What does she do?
Tassia has a companion, a three eyed- alien feline named F’rrh, who is a genie of sorts and lives in a beautifully painted black lacquer box when she isn’t out in the world. So Tassia might sit for a while with F’rrh in her lap, and have a conversation in their native language about what to do next in her escape across the galaxy. Once Tassia meets Liam on board the ship of course, she likes to go out with him after shows and they often go to the ship’s gigantic beach deck for picnics. She also makes good friends among the dance troupe members and spends time with them. The cruise ship crew are allowed to make use of the amenities when off duty and the ship’s Artificial Intelligence also has an endless supply of trideos and shows.
What kind of food would she impulse buy if hungry?
Rich desserts! Since she works off so many calories every day at rehearsal and doing the shows, she can eat as much as she wants and not be concerned about the somewhat skimpy costumes. But in general Tassia eats a balanced diet, since she needs to be fit to perform.
Describe the kind of clothes she prefers to wear.
Tassia is a dancer so she likes loose fitting, flowy dresses, although when it’s time to rehearse she wears clothes like leotards or leggings and a sports bra. She enjoys going barefoot as much as she can. Her costumes for the shows on the interstellar cruise ship Nebula Zephyr as a member of the prestigious Comettes dance troupe are elaborate, glittery and glamorous.
Does she know how to fix things?
She tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
How does she act around children she doesn’t know?
Tassia hasn’t spent much time with children, having been on the run from assassins nearly all her life after her royal family was murdered in a coup, but she’s generally a very friendly and sweet person. She does help teach a basic dance class for the passengers’ kids on the cruise ship and they like her. She’s patient and good at giving instructions and corrections.
What is she like first thing in the morning?
She’s had to learn to wake up instantly and be ready to move at a moment’s notice because of the danger surrounding her, so Tassia doesn’t linger in bed or dawdle over breakfast. She’s a morning person by nature but has late nights as a Comette dancer.
How does she act around people who don’t know what she is?
No one was ever supposed to suspect she was a princess, for her own safety, so she’s polite and reserved. She doesn’t put on any airs.
Will she let a worker handle things or do it herself?
Tassia will always try to handle things for herself.
    Earrings/piercings/tattoos or unadorned skin?
She’s not much of a jewelry person but will wear the blingy, dangling earrings mandated as part of her costume. There’s a giant gem involved in the mystery surrounding her and whether she is or isn’t the real princess, so she tends to associate jewels with trouble and unhappiness.
    Personal vehicle or public transport?
As a member of the ship’s crew, when on a planet she has to rent a groundcar or take public transport.
    Recycle or toss?
Recycle definitely! As a fugitive she’s been poor and hungry so Tassia believe nothing should ever go to waste.
Thanks for helping us get to know your heroine!

Know the Hero from A Place In Your Heart by Kathy Otten @kathyotten #RLFblog #Historical RomanceKathy Otten, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your hero, but first, tell us about the book.

A Place In Your Heart by Kathy Otten

    Genre Historical Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Gracie McBride isn’t looking for love; she’s looking for respect. But in this man’s world of Civil War medicine, Gracie is expected to maintain her place changing beds and writing letters. Her biggest nemesis is the ward surgeon, Doctor Charles Ellard, who seems determined to woo her with arrogant kisses and terrible jokes.
Charles is an excellent surgeon. He assumed he would be well received by an army at war. He was not. Friendless and alone, he struggles to hide the panic attacks that plague him, while the only person who understands him is a feisty Irish nurse clearly resolved to keep him at a distance.
But, Charles is sent to the battlefield, and Gracie is left with a wounded soldier, a box of toys, and a mystery which can only be solved by the one man she wishes could love her, both as a woman and a nurse.

Know the Hero from A Place In Your Heart

Here are some fun questions to help us know your hero.
It’s late, he’s bored. What does he do?
I don’t believe I have ever been bored, per se. When I have time I often read. A Manual of Military Surgery, is always good to keep fresh in the mind. Or I write. I’m currently working on a paper, Pymeia and Surgical Fevers, which if published, may provide the catalyst necessary to instill a change in the current perception that laudable pus in a wound is a good sign.
What kind of food would he impulse buy if hungry?
I do enjoy fresh bread. The yeasty aroma reminds me of home.
Describe the kind of clothes he prefers to wear.
In this regard I agree with my grandfather in that a slovenly appearance is disrespectful. A clean shirt and tie, with a neatly pressed uniform.
Does he know how to fix things?
I am a surgeon, by definition I fix things every day. However, if I have something non human to repair, such as a watch, I go to the library, read a book on the subject, come home and make the necessary repair.
He tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
I can’t dance. And the construct of socialization skills baffle me. I have no friends.
How does he act around children he doesn’t know?
I have treated many ill and hurt children. They do seem to have a propensity to disregard adult warnings regarding safety. Male children often engage in reckless behaviors, which consequently end with one or more receiving an injury.
What is he like first thing in the morning?
I do long for the day when I might be able to sleep beyond the light of dawn. And coffee. I do enjoy a good brisk cup of black coffee to start the day.
How does he handle things when in a “proper” social situation?
As I have mentioned social situations are not my forte. However, I have had a proper education and do know the rules of proper gentlemanly behavior.
Valet or takes care of himself?
I prefer to dress myself. My grandfather does have a man who assists him and looks after both our clothing. Being in the army however, I have learned to make do.
    Necktie/cravat or open shirt?
As I said, clean shirt and pressed uniform. Although, while performing surgery I operate in my shirtsleeves with an apron.
    Sleeves buttoned or rolled up?
While performing surgery, my shirtsleeves are rolled up. Otherwise, the cuff extends an inch or two beyond the sleeve of my uniform jacket.
    Powdered wig or natural hair?
I am not an expert on fashion, but I do not believe powdered wigs to be in style any longer.
    Carriage or horseback?
A home Grandfather kept a horse and carriage at the livery. Here in the Army, I have my own horse. He is not fond of crossing water, but like me, he is tall, so we are well matched.
Thanks for helping us get to know your hero!

Meet Saree from Lightwave: Clocker by AM Scott @AM_Scottwrites #RLFblog #SciFi

Meet Saree from Lightwave: Clocker by AM Scott @AM_Scottwrites #RLFblog #SciFiWelcome Saree of Jericho from Lightwave: Clocker, a new Space Opera series by AM Scott.

Saree of Jericho from Lightwave: Clocker by AM Scott

    Age: 32 standard years
    Gender: Female
Birthplace: Jericho Mining Station, but raised on Sa’sa
Profession: Secret profession: Only human fold clock maintainer, Cover ID: Scholar of Ancient Music with an emphasis on filk
    Ethnicity: Human mixed
    Species (for scifi/fantasy characters): Human
Please provide a physical description of yourself.
AM Scott is quite tall, with a fairly athletic build for a woman in her mid-50’s. Her brown hair is going slightly silver, she wears glasses and is generally klutzy and geeky.
Saree of Jericho is very average. Average height, mud-brown hair, light brown eyes, medium tan skin. She’s athletic, but not muscle-bound, and is very good at blending in everywhere.
Please tell us a little about your character.
Saree of Jericho is a war orphan, raised by cruel foster parents in the small human colony on Sa’sa. The Sa’sa are an alien hive-mind race, similar in appearance to velociraptors, and they tune the clocks necessary to fold space (Faster-Than-Light travel) synchronizing them to the universal standard in ^timespace^. Saree invaded ^timespace^ in her dreams, upsetting the immature Sa’sa, so the Sa’s trained her to tune clocks. She’s been hunted ever since by corporations, crime lords and an ancient Artificial Intelligence who want to misuse her talents to blockade and blackmail solar systems.
Who is the significant other in your character’s life?
Saree doesn’t have a significant other, but she’s extremely attracted to Lightwave’s Captain, Ruhger.
    How does your heroine dress?
Saree is a Scholar of Ancient Music from Centauri University, so she wears Scholar’s Robes: a long black tunic, a traditional scholar’s cowl in purple patterns draped over it, with scarlet and dark blue patterned cords hanging around the neck, and plain black leggings and boots underneath. The colors reflect her school and area of study.
Does she scrape by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
Saree is comfortable but not wealthy. She has a big training debt to pay back to the Time Guild and lives simply to maintain her cover as a Scholar. She owns her shuttle, but tells people it’s leased from her university.
What special skills does your character rely on?
Saree can tune space fold clocks. She meditates to find ^timespace^ then finds the right frequency for the transuranic metal used for the clock’s frequency standard, and tunes the clock to the universal standard time. These clocks enable fold transports to accurately fold space.
What does she have a knack for doing?
She is an excellent interviewer, vid maker, and plays guitar, so she can join filk sessions.
Can your heroine keep a secret? If not, why not? If yes, why?
Saree keeps a lot of secrets. She’d like hers to stay secret, so she won’t ever tell anyone else’s.
What secrets does your character know about people around her that she does NOT share?
She knows her virtual assistant is really an artificial intelligence and she wouldn’t dare tell anyone. If anyone knew Hal was an AI, they’d destroy both of them. Saree also knows she shares a past Lightwave’s crew—their parents were part of the attack on Jericho Station that made her an orphan, but they also saved her and many of the other children. Lightwave’s crew has no idea she’s a Jericho orphan.
What is your character’s biggest need at the beginning of the story?
Saree must keep her true profession a secret or millions of beings will be subject to blockades and blackmail.
What is your heroine’s biggest hopes and dreams?
Saree would love to have friends and family, someone who’d have her back. If she can’t have that, just basic safety would be nice.
If your character could make any one thing happen, what would it be?
Saree would love to find other beings capable of tuning space fold clocks. If there were lots of clock maintainers, she wouldn’t be hunted.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions. Questions with more than one point should be considered one question. You may answer as many more as you like.
Why do you think your writer chose to write about you?
I think she wanted to show that heroes don’t have to be loud and flashy or wear spandex. Heroes can be everyday people quietly doing their jobs without any fanfare to keep other beings safe.
What do you wish your writer would write next?
I hope she finds a way for me to make more friends. If I was really dreaming big, she’d help me find out if my attraction to Captain Ruhger is real. And if he’s attracted to me.
What other character from your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?
I think she should write about Purser Grant Lowe. Everyone else has a short story, so we need to know about the fold fling king. There’s got to be a good reason he sleeps with every passenger he can.

Know the Hero from Before the Whistle by Linda O'Connor @LindaOConnor98 #RLFblog #sportsromanceLinda O’Connor, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your hero, but first, tell us about the book.

Before the Whistle by Linda O’Connor

    Genre Sports romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13
Jordyn Kendra is a talented designer and savvy businesswoman. Spending eighteen hours a day establishing and running a successful business doesn’t leave much time for pursuing a relationship, and frankly she hasn’t really missed it. But when an invitation arrives that could help her fulfill her career dreams, she has to make a decision. What’s harder: going to a gala without a date or finding someone to ask?
Ben Matthews, head athletic therapist for the wildly popular Clarington Quakes hockey team, tends to stand out in a crowd. When Jordyn doesn’t recognize him, it puts a dent in his ego, but he catches her attention when he jumps in to save a life.
She’s a queasy bystander, cowering at the sight of blood, and he’s cool, calm, and confident, which she finds irresistible. With a little prodding from her spirited aunt, Jordyn realizes that she and Ben might be the perfect mismatch.
Before the Whistle – when cool and calm in an emergency is totally hot.

Know the Hero from Before the Whistle

It’s late, he’s bored. What does he do?
Goes to the gym or kicks back and watches the sports highlights from the day.

Street meat – hot dog or sausage with the works. Quick and easy.
Describe the kind of clothes he prefers to wear.
Khakis, collared shirt, and a Clarington Quakes team jacket.
Does he know how to fix things?
His handyman skills could use a little work, but he’s great to have around in a medical emergency. Cardiac arrest? Respiratory distress? That he can fix.
He tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
He was tired of his tiny place close to the arena. It was time to find a new place, preferably with a view of the Charlebois River. He found a little house, but the deal fell through. Enough. He asked a realtor for help, and now he has the lead on a condominium – with a great view and even better neighbors.
How does he act around children he doesn’t know?
Doesn’t daunt him – he’s outgoing and happy to meet Quakes fans of all ages.
What is he like first thing in the morning?
When the alarm goes, he’s up out of bed and ready to roll.
    Can he use chopsticks?
Why would he when a knife and fork are so much faster? Unless he was dining out with the elusive Jordyn Kendra. Then he’d be in no rush to finish the meal, and he’d fumble with chopsticks one grain of rice at a time.
Does he drink coffee? If so, how does he take it?
Yup. Large double double at the drive-thru on the way to work.

Meet the hot firefighters in Hooked on a Phoenix by Ashlyn Chase @GoddessAsh #RLFblog #paranormal romantic comedy

Meet the hot firefighters in Hooked on a Phoenix by Ashlyn Chase @GoddessAsh #RLFblog #paranormal romantic comedyAshlyn Chase, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please introduce us to your heroes.

Hi, there! I’m Ashlyn Chase and I’m here to interview two of my heroes!

They’re brothers, best friends, roommates, and firefighters in neighboring fire houses. It was impossible to separate their stories, so I told them both in the same book! More than a Phoenix releases Sept 25, 2018
Noah: We know who you are. You’re the one that put us through hell.
Dante: Don’t listen to my brother. People think he’s a hothead, but he only gets upset when other people are being mistreated.
Ashlyn: Did I mistreat anyone you cared about, Noah?
    Noah:
    (bursts out laughing)
Dante: It wasn’t too bad for me. I had a second chance with a girl from high school who was completely out of my league at that time.
Noah: She wasn’t out of your league. You used that as an excuse not to ask her out, because you were chicken.
Dante: I admit I could have tried harder, but the timing just wasn’t right. It turned out to be perfect timing when we saw each other six years later on that rainy day at the bus stop.
Noah: Yeah. I doubt anyone but you would have given her a ride, considering she was talking to someone who wasn’t there.
Dante: (sighs) She wasn’t crazy and I knew that. I wasn’t sure what was going on and neither was she. She’d never seen a ghost before.
Noah: I still can’t believe they left her sitting in the hallway outside the ER for an hour!
Dante: Yeah, it was nice of you to look out for a friend, but you practically went to war with the ER doctor.
Noah: (grinning) Yeah, Kizzy Samuels. She might be a petite brunette, but she wasn’t taking any of my crap. I’m glad she was on duty that day, and even gladder that we ran into each other later when she was off duty.
Dante: I’m glad too. Both of you were relaxed and had a chance to make up. The kissing came later.
    Noah: Har har.
Dante: You know, Ashlyn, I do have one beef with you.
    Ashlyn: Oh? What’s that?
    Dante:
Why is Noah on the cover instead of me? I’m the better looking brother!
    Noah: Hey!
Ashlyn: Relax you two. I had nothing to do with it. My publisher and their art department make the covers.
    Noah:
So why didn’t they put both of us on it?
Ashlyn: Because at first glance it might look like a gay romance.
    Dante:
Oh. My. God. I like my brother and everything, but…
    Noah: (laughing)
Ashlyn: It’s a branding thing. (shrugs) So, changing the subject… You’re shapeshifting phoenixes.
    Noah:
Yeah. Pretty handy in a fire. If the worst happens, we can reincarnate out of the ashes.
Dante: But our ‘fire’ didn’t have anything to do with our jobs. Noah blew up our own house–on purpose!
Noah: You knew it had to be done for the good of man and woman-kind. There was no other way.
Dante: Well, as much of a pain in the ass it was to stay in baby bird form until we reached maturity, I’m still glad we made the sacrifice.
Ashlyn: Yes. You guys really took me by surprise there.
    Dante:
We like to keep you on your toes.
    Ashlyn: You sure do.
    Dante:
    So, what’s next for us?
Ashlyn: You’ll just have to complete the series and find out.
    Noah:
I’ll bet the next book has to do with our baby brother.
Ashlyn: You mean the youngest Fierro? Luca is hardly a baby.
    Dante:
Yeah, but we’re his older brothers, so we can call him that. Until Luca was born the rest of us called Noah the baby.
Ashlyn: I’m sure. And look how he turned out. He’s the tallest of all of you.
    Noah:
Yeah, look how I turned out? The biggest, bravest—
    Dante: Oh, pulease…
Ashlyn: Let’s tell everyone where they can find your story. It comes out today! Sept 25th!
