Why did you write this book?
I was invited to participate with eleven other authors in creating a roguish earl to be a member of the Wicked Earls’ Club. It was the perfect opportunity to use an idea I had while writing Brooke: Wagers Gone Awry. That’s another book about an ill-placed wager.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Historical Romance! Big surprise there, right? I especially enjoy Regency, Georgian, Victorian, Highlander, and medieval historicals.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
The Count of Monte Cristo. My, oh, my!
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m working on the last two books in my Conundrums of the Misses Culpepper series. If all goes well, you’ll see Blaike’s story in February!
What books will we see from you in coming months?
You’ll see Blaike’s and Blaire’s stories (books 4 and 5 of the Misses Culpepper Series) as well as books from my Seductive Scoundrel and Heart of a Scot Series. The last book in my Highland Heather Series, Seductive Surrender, releases in May 2018. Oh, and I have a top-secret project I’m working on too. Who is your “book boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
I have an unconventional answer to this! I’d say Odd Thomas from Dean Koontz’s book of the same name. Odd is not your typical hero. He’s average in every way except for his ability to see the dead and his epic love for his childhood sweetheart, Stormy. Odd’s romantic devotion is so sweet, and he has such a pure heart. He’s brave but has no problem admitting when he’s afraid. It never stops him from doing the right thing anyway.
When you read for pleasure, what kind of books do you choose?
I love mysteries and psychological thrillers (Jonathan Kellerman) as well as urban fantasy (Rachel Caine) and comedy (Janet Evanovich)!
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?
It depends on the characters! I’ve watched a lot of hockey games, picked through sites on First Nations Canadians, dove into surfing videos, and spent time buried in figure skating books. If my characters have jobs or passions I’m unfamiliar with, I get familiar before I sit down to write!

Why did you write this book?
I was approached by Elley Arden to work together on a continuity about a family in the sports world. The sons of a famous sports personality, famous in their own right, are thrown by a long-held secret. In my book Colby, the eldest, must wrestle not only with what this secret means for him, but how it colors his view of the father he’s looked up to, and at the same time, he’s been having not-friendly thoughts about his best friend, Madalyn. So there is all this emotion and angst and romance – it was such a fun story to write!
What is your favorite genre to read?
It mostly depends on my mood, although I’ll never turn down a contemporary romance! I’ve been really into romantic suspense lately.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Gosh, there are so many! I adore Westley from The Princess Bride, and I have yet to meet a hero (or heroine) of Nora Roberts’ that I don’t love, but right now, my favorite fictional character is Holly from Jane Porter’s The Frog Prince. Her vulnerability and strength is amazing!
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m working on a new series – which remains untitled right now! – and a women’s fiction project that I hope to be able to share a bit more about very soon!Where to buy Lost on Anna Maria Island

How do you come up with ideas?…
Usually my imagination, but for this box set we had a theme of a lawbreaker that we had to work the story around.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?…
I have absolutely no idea. I’ve never thought about it. I guess the fun of letting my imagination run wild. Society like to place us in boxes. Make us conform to rules. But even inside a box my imagination is free.
When did you write your first book?…
In gr 10 – in a creative writing class. It is hilarious to read – it’s so bad.FUN

Why did you write this book?
Do you have a happy place? My happy place is the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. The times I spent there as a child make up some of my happiest memories, and I used the area as the setting for the High Sierra Series. Once I came up with the concept for the town of Hangman’s Loss, plot ideas evolved pretty quickly.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I write what I read, and I love to read romantic suspense. The best in the genre throw the hero and heroine together, add danger and intrigue, and force the couple to work together to resolve the mystery. Romantic suspense offers endless possibilities for adventure, heightened sexual tension, and thrilling romance.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Favorite character? Good heavens, can anybody only pick one? I choose Hermoine Granger from the Harry Potter series as only one of many, many admirable characters from fiction. I love Hermoine because from start to finish, she is Harry’s one true friend who never wavered in her loyalty. I also love that Hermoine is super smart and not afraid to show it. Need to figure out a spell or decipher a clue? Hermoine’s your girl. She’ll figure out the answer because she uses her brain. We need more Hermoine Grangers in the world.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am currently working on book three in the High Sierra Series, titled Already Gone. This is Maddy and Logan’s story. We first met Maddy in Flash Point when she nearly comes to blows with old flame Logan Ross. Maddy and Logan strike sparks off each other, but Maddy must keep Logan at a distance because of a painful secret.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Keep an eye out for releases in the High Sierra series. Following the release of Flash Point in February, you’ll see Dead Giveaway in April, and Already Gone following that. There are five books scheduled for release throughout the year.Where to buy Flash Point

What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?…
I usually have to research the location, since most of the places I’ve never been to. For example, for Trouble With Gold, the book takes place in Switzerland. In order to fully immerse myself there, I had to research pictures of quaint towns, the snow, the culture, etc. I also had to research Swiss French that my heroine would speak. That’s always fun and a great way to learn a language.
