My Way to You by Lyndell Williams @laylawriteslove #RLFblog #NewRelease #contemporaryromanceLyndell Williams, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

My Way to You by Lyndell Williams

    Genre contemporary romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings):

Lawyer Simon Young is smart, confident, and adept at keeping things with women casual—until he meets his best friend Marcus’s sister, Regina. Immediately intrigued by Regina’s beauty, Simon becomes increasingly enthralled and ultimately risks his friendship to have her for himself.
Social justice writer and activist Regina Kent is usually cautious and savvy. Yet, unable to resist her attraction to the handsome Simon, she plunges into a torrid affair, knowing that she chances angering big brother and her less tolerant followers, many of whom will not accept that one of their most popular pro-Black bloggers is dating an Asian man.
As their clandestine romance evolves, Simon and Regina fall deeper in love. Making sure that things stay between them becomes progressively impossible, and neither knows how much longer they can keep Marcus in the dark and the world at bay.
Why did you write this book?

I had a few reasons for writing My Way to You, the primary one being that I wanted to write a romance centering what I gleaned as the increasing lines of solidarity between Blacks and Asians in the country. I also wanted to highlight the growing Black Woman-Asian Man (BWAM) subculture, where members of two social groups deemed less desirable are learning to appreciate each other as love matches.
Black women and Asian men have to tackle with a contrived lack of appeal stemming from stereotypes masculinizing one and feminizing the other. My Way to You and other romances centering BWAM love interests pushes back against that and offers representation for couples in similar relationships as well as interracial couples in general.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Oh, romance, romance, and then—romance. I became hooked on it as a teenager and never looked back. When I was presented with a choice of genre to study for my master’s thesis, I selected romance. I think the genre is integral to revealing and influencing how people navigate a quintessential human emotion eros love.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
My favorite fictional character is Sofia in The Color Purple by Alice Walker. She’s an amazingly-strong character that shows the layers of racism and sexism that Black American women encounter from Black men as well as White men and women.
Sofia constantly fights against people’s attempts to degrade and dehumanize her. She paid for her quest for dignity and humanity with her physical well-being and liberty, which is also in jeopardy for real Black women daring to do the same. Even though she was crushed by society, her spirit wasn’t. Her raising like a phoenix from the ashes after years of torment is the profoundest moment in literary history.
What are you working on at the moment?
I have a couple of projects that require different styles of writing. I am working on Sweet Love, Bitter Fruit, book two of the Brothers in Law romance series. The story features Marcus and Toni from My Way to You (book one) and their struggles to keep their perfect marriage from falling apart.
I am also writing an essay about African American Muslim romance to be added to an anthology on American Muslim popular culture as well as a short story for an American Muslim story collection. Although it can be demanding, I love the different directions my writing takes me.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I plan to have books two and three of the Brothers in Law series ready for readers to dive into.
Hopefully, readers will get to enjoy Sweet Love, Bitter Fruit in early 2019. After that, there will be Building on Broken Dreams (book three), my first Muslim romance in the series. It features a steamy interracial couple—Adam Kane and Maryam Avery—as they build a beautiful life together that is threatened to be torn down by Maryam’s past.

Alina K Field, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

Avenging the Earl’s Lady by Alina K Field

    Genre Regency Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
He’s the most irritating, inscrutable, insufferable lord in the kingdom.
Also nosy, managing, and manipulative, and a man who’s made an art of revenge.
She ought to know better than to encourage his attentions. But…he’s rich, and when an impossible debt from her past comes due, theft seems the only answer.
What had he missed about her?
She’s nobly born, and proper. If he wanted a wife, she’d be perfect. Not to mention, he’d very much like her in his bed.
But she’s gone missing, along with a priceless painting he needs for revenge on one last enemy.
Avenging his own honor is everything—until that of his lady is threatened.
Find out what happens when the invincible Spy Lord meets his match!
Why did you write this book?
Avenging the Earl’s Lady is the final book in the Sons of the Spy Lord Series. After all his matchmaking and meddling, I decided the spy lord needed his own romance!
What is your favorite genre to read?
I enjoy historical romance, but I also like suspense and historical adventure stories.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I like the delightfully impossible Rupert Carsington, the hero of Mr. Impossible, by Loretta Chase.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m working on a novella-length story for release in 2019. It will tie in with my series and includes a haunted house, a hound of hell, and a hero with a hidden identity.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
The novella mentioned above and a Christmas story for 2019, yet to be written.

The Raven Witch of Corfu, Episode 1 by Effrosyni Moschoudi @FrostieMoss #RLFblog #NewRelease #fantasyromanceEffrosyni Moschoudi, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

The Raven Witch of Corfu – episode 1 by Effrosyni Moschoudi

    Genre Fantasy romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG
A terrible evil lurks in the mountain…
Lizzie is not your average tourist. She may have just arrived on the idyllic Greek island of Corfu, but her mind is not on having a good time. Far from it, Lizzie has a daunting task to undertake: to claim back her twin brother who was kidnapped twenty years earlier on her previous visit. In a cave. By an evil witch.
When Lizzie sees her brother again, she receives the shock of her life. The witch has tricked her and won’t let them be…
Lizzie does her best to help her brother and do the witch’s bidding, too afraid of losing him again. New friends help them adjust and have some fun, and then love comes into her life to bring new hope. For the first time, it seems possible to fight off the witch. All she has to do now is trust enough…
Will she succeed? Will Corfu ever be again the perfect paradise she once knew?
“It’s a step up from Mills and Boon – much more Mary Stewart than Barbara Cartland, with a bit of Gothic horror and Harry Potter-esque magic in the mix. And it’s certainly a page-turner.” ~Hilary Whitton Paipeti, author of In the Footsteps of Lawrence Durrell and Gerald Durrell in Corfu”
This highly imaginative Greek fantasy romance will intrigue and uplift you, making it feel like you’re on the island, experiencing it all with your senses. It is also guaranteed to leave you longing for a visit to your closest Greek restaurant!
Why did you write this book?
The Corfiot village of Messonghi, where the book is set, is one of my favorite places. Tiny, quaint and evergreen, it seems like paradise on earth. I also have a strange affinity for the pyramid-shaped mountain that’s part of its coastal view. The mountain also featured in the first romance I wrote, The Ebb. In The Raven Witch of Corfu it is the place that hides the secret of the cave and the evil deeds of Phoni, the witch. It was my love for Messonghi that inspired the story one summer morning as I sat on the beach there and gazed at the mountain absentmindedly, as I often like to do. I have many readers, Brits mostly, who adore this part of the world like I do. I guess I wrote the book to please them, the way it pleases me to read it, now that it’s complete. It brings back the bliss of being there during the summer in sparkling colors…
What is your favorite genre to read?
I enjoy many different genres but if I had to pick one, I’d say paranormal stories with ghosts.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Froddo from The Lord of the Rings, which is one of my favorite books. That little guy didn’t stop at anything to protect what he loves. His story is very powerful and resonates deeply in me.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m not writing anything new yet, as I’ve literally just finished working on this new release. But I am already plotting my next novel in my head and hope to start writing soon. It’s a romance set in Greece, probably another romantic comedy as I really enjoyed writing The Amulet which is in that same genre.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I hope to publish two books late next year, both romances, and knowing me, they’ll probably involve a ghost, a Greek god, an angel or something whimsical like that. I think the world is magical, if only we believe it to be so, so can’t help adding to my creative mix a generous sprinkle of fairy dust
Thank you so much for this opportunity to present my new book to your readers, Kayelle! The Raven Witch of Corfu is published in 4 kindle episodes. The paperback will follow soon.

When the Right One Comes Along by Livia Quinn @liviaquinn #RLFblog #NewRelease #contemporaryromanceLivia Quinn, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

When the Right One Comes Along by Livia Quinn

    Genre Small-town Contemporary Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13
Love happens when you least expect it. . .even when you resist.
Jed Summers has had a change of heart.
When he and Samantha Larue started dating he’d known she was pregnant and still he found her wildly attractive. But when their relationship turned more serious, Jed ended it, telling her he’d sworn off marriage and kids years ago after an abusive childhood. After following her around for six months, as if he still cared, he delivered Sam’s baby and now, every time he sees her and little Nina, he wonders if he made the biggest mistake of his life.
New developments from Jed’s past turn his long held ideas upside down then Sam is threatened and her secret is exposed, leaving her feeling vulnerable. Can he convince her to give him a second chance?
Why did you write this book?
It Had to Be You is the sixth book in the series. Jed is the partner of Officer Del Burke the heroine in book 2 and there was a brief relationship between Jed and Sam in Christmas Wishes (no spoilers). Finally Jed and Samantha get their turn but nothing’s ever easy it seems.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Oh gosh, I love so many. I read historical romance when I just want to relax because I do NOT write that genre. Wouldn’t dream of trying, lol. And depending on what I’m in the mood for, I might pick up a romantic suspense, a romantic comedy or a paranormal romance. If I get stuck on a great series, I’ll pretty much binge on them.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
One of my all-time favorites is Matthew Claremont from Discovery of Witches and the All Souls Trilogy. Vampire, scientist, lover, spy. . . and more. I get hot and bothered just thinking about him. He’s like the Roarke of the paranormal world (my other fav).
What are you working on at the moment?
Actually, I was going down the road a couple weeks ago and a new series came to me and I’ve written about a third of the first book.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I just finished the final edits on Christmas Vows which comes out 12/3 and now trying to finish book 8 which comes out in February, I Will Find you, then it’s on to book 7 in my paranormal series.

Shattered by Bry Ann @authorbryann #RLFblog #NewRelease #DarkromanceBy Ann, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

    Shattered by Bry Ann

    Genre: Dark Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Sometimes, when I really think about it, I can almost feel the way the breeze felt against my skin that day. How it washed over me, cooling my heated skin.
I remember counting the minutes it took to get to my boyfriend’s house. Twenty-two, but it took twenty-three that day. Maybe the extra minute was a warning.
One I didn’t heed, of course.
I wanted love. It’s all I wanted. I would have done anything for it.
It made me an easy victim.
Tell me I’m pretty here, hug me there and I was a puppet on his string. He pulled and pulled until he asked me to do the one thing I absolutely could not do.
It broke me to tell him no. Tore me up. I went over to his house that day to try and find a way to make it up to him. To fix what I broke.
    Minute nineteen.
Cool breeze. Sunshine. Hope for love, fear I ruined my chance at it by being disobedient.
    Minute twenty.
Black. One minute was all it took for Sage Briar-Rose to cease to exist.
    To shatter her.
This is the story of how I lost myself. The story of how my naive search for love left me shattered.
Trigger Warning: This book deals with extremely sensitive topics. If you get triggered easily, I’d chose one of my other books.
Why did you write this book?
For so many reasons, the most prominent being the subject matter is one VERY close to my heart. I’ve wanted to write on the topic for years and finally find the woman who’s story it belonged to.
What is your favorite genre to read?
    Oh, dark romance 100%!
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
This is SO HARD! Oh my gosh. I have to say Abby from Dark Light of Day. I really connect with her on so many levels.
What are you working on at the moment?
    It’s a secret! ;)
What books will we see from you in coming months?
The next book up will be the sequel to Shattered, Accepted and Rebuilt, which is actually already up for pre-order. After that I will be doing a couple more spin-offs from my Roses and Thorns series before diving into something new.
