Return of Dancer of the Nile (The Gods of Egypt) by Veronica Scott @vscotttheauthor #RLFblog #NewRelease #AncientWorldRomanceVeronica Scott, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

Return of Dancer of the Nile (The Gods of Egypt) by Veronica Scott

    Genre Ancient World Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13

    1550BCE

Nima, formerly a tavern dancer in the land of the Nile, has settled into the leisurely life of her dreams as the pampered, beloved wife to a high ranking general who’s also a member of Pharaoh’s court. She’s sworn never to dance for anyone else but Kamin, the man she loves. All is fine until one day news arrives that her husband has been killed in a chariot accident while on a trip to a remote city on Pharaoh’s behalf.

But as a reward for their previous service to Egypt against a dangerous enemy, the gods had promised Nima and Kamin they’d die at the same moment…so if she still lives, so must he.

Why is the ruler of the city lying to Pharaoh about Kamin’s death? What is the woman covering up? And where is Kamin?

Time for Nima the elegant lady to vanish from Thebes and Nima the skilled dancer to make her way in disguise to the far distant province and fight for Kamin’s life. She’ll have to deal with angry gods, black magic, an enemy prince and a deadly ghost along the way.

Nima is the only one who can rescue her beloved from the dark fate planned for him by Egypt’s enemies…

Standalone sequel to Dancer of the Nile.

Why did you write this book?

I’ve always been fascinated by ancient Egypt and this is my tenth novel set there. I love the challenge of telling a good story, with the gods taking an active role in the events. Mixing romance and adventure with the details of life along the Nile thousands of years ago is a challenge I relish. I was excited to return to Nima the dancer and Kamin the soldier, who both first appeared in Dancer of the Nile and tell more of their ongoing story. This is a standalone book but there are mild spoilers for the first book. And I relish the opportunity to put all my historical research to work and create an environment where readers feel at home in ancient Egypt, but keeping it relatable to the modern audience.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Science fiction romance is my first love, filling my e-reader (and what I write primarily), but I also read paranormal, fantasy, urban fantasy, thrillers and Regency romance.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Going by what I reread the most, Judd Lauren in Nalini Singh’s Caressed by Ice. He was the template for all her lethal Arrow soldiers who fall in love and they’re my favorite characters in her Psy/Changeling series. She makes me feel like I want to be the woman to melt that ice! I’m also always impressed by Frederica in the Regency romance novel of the same name by Georgette Heyer.

What are you working on at the moment?

Currently I’m writing a holiday novella set in my fantasy romance world of Cladddare and having fun with it. After that I’ll be writing the next book in my scifi romance Badari Warriors series about genetically engineered soldiers of the far future.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

In October the fourth annual Pets In Space® anthology releases and I have a full length scifi romance Star Cruise novel in the collection, all new. The fantasy holiday novella I mentioned should be out in November and hopefully the next Badari Warriors will be released in December. We’ll see how I do on that schedule!

Sweet Love, Bitter Fruit by Lyndell Williams @laylawriteslove #RLFblog #NewRelease #urbanromance

Sweet Love, Bitter Fruit by Lyndell Williams @laylawriteslove #RLFblog #NewRelease #urbanromanceLyndell Williams, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

Sweet Love, Bitter Fruit by Lyndell Williams

    Genre romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

From Lyndell Williams, author of My Way to You, a new novel about keeping the flames of love and passion burning in a world determined to snuff them out.

Harlem lawyer Marcus Kent fights for justice while preserving a stable, passionate marriage with wife, Toni. Smart and confident, he has it all together—that is until his world turns upside down.

Not only is someone stalking his sister, but an intern at work is also getting too close for comfort.

On top of all of that, Toni’s renewed infertility obsession causes them to continually argue, adding more strain and cooling off their steamy union.

Struggling with insecurities and yearning to have a child, successful psychologist Toni Kent looks to her husband for support. Unfortunately, relentless distraction and stubbornness prevent Marcus from being there when she needs him the most and jeopardizes their happy home.

After multiple failed in vitro attempts, Toni is ready to try again, but Marcus is done. He doesn’t want another headache or more heartache. Will infertility tear this dream couple apart?

Why did you write this book?

I am a huge proponent of using fiction as social commentary. Novels can reflect and influence society, and many readers seek to connect to realistic characters with problems and issues reflecting the human condition. I wrote Sweet Love, Bitter Fruit to highlight how strong love is not invincible. There are times and situations that will test the strongest bond. Toni and Marcus have it all—fabulous careers, awesome Harlem apartment and the respect of their family and community—but they have to endure the trials of infertility. They are usually simpatico, but when Toni wants to go through more in vitro treatments after agreeing to give up, it threatens their love.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Romance, romance, and more romance. The genre offers the chance for authors to show the ways characters navigate and negotiate a foundational human emotion. Romance can be diverse, influenced by readers and the broader culture. It is truly a misunderstood genre that deserves more respect than it gets in the literary world. Love elements exist across genres, so romance is a foundational part of literature.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

    I don’t have one.

What are you working on at the moment?

I am finishing up Building on Broken Dreams, book three in the Brothers in Law series. Adam Kane is a European American Muslim convert. A native Bostonian from a wealthy family, he turned away from a life of luxury and privilege. He concentrates on living simply and his faith when he meets Maryam Avery, an African American Muslim woman and pursues her.

I am also writing three novellas for the Open to Love series. The three stories feature three Muslim women: Hafsah, Tarika and Rahma. Each of them struggles to allow love to enter their lives and keep it there.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I plan on releasing each novella in the Open to Love series over the coming months, after the release of Sweet Love Bitter Fruit. Then there is book three in the Brothers in Law series, Building on Broken Dreams.

Gerall’s Festivus Bride by Rebekah R Ganiere

    Genre Fantasy Romance /Paranormal Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13

Not all nice guys finish last.

Gerall Gwyn has always been the kindest and gentlest Gwyn brother. Happy to take a backseat to his older and younger brothers boisterous personalities he’s content in the role of peacemaking diplomat. But when his family and their position as Lords of Westfall are threatened, Gerall is first in line to protect those he loves.

Eloa Lenter harbors a deadly secret. After two thugs almost kill her father, forcing him to go into hiding, she takes over the family business of running the Westfall bakery. In an effort to do more than simply scrape by, she uses every talent in her arsenal to make her pastries the best anyone has ever tasted- including using magick.

When Gerall meets the sweet and beautiful Eloa he knows that she’s the one he wants as his wife, but first he must get her to let him in. And when he discovers that some local thugs are extorting both her and other shop owners in town, he is determined to end the thefts.

But protecting Eloa as well as his family could cost both Gerall, and his brothers, more than just their stewardship over Westfall. It could cost them their lives.

Why did you write this book?

Gerall’s Festivus Bride is the seventh book in my Fairelle Series of Fairytale Retellings. The second book in the series is Snow the Vampire Slayer and she has 7 brothers. Each of her brothers is getting their own book. 2 are already in the series and this is the third. I wrote Gerall’s next because I love him as a character. He is gentle and loyal and smart. On the quiet side, but first in line to defend the right and stick up for the little guy.

What is your favorite genre to read?

I love Fantasy. I also love Paranormal romance :)

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

That’s a tough one because there are so many. Tanis and Tasslehoff from DragonLance. Jack from Pillars of the Earth. Loki and Hulk from the comics. Scarlet Witch.

What are you working on at the moment?

I have 3 books in my dystopian Vampire series that I am finishing up edits on to release in the next month. I am also working on the next Fairelle book as well as a Contemporary Christmas Romance.

New series: Derek-De Wolfes of Esterley Castle by Alexa Aston @AlexaAston #RLFblog #NewRelease #RegencyRomance Alexa Aston, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

Derek (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 2) by Alexa Aston

    Genre: Regency romance

    Book heat level: PG-13

He loved her—and was blindsided when she wed another man…

He refused her—and now her life is no longer her own…

Lady Amelia Ward is ecstatic that her brother, the Earl of Merrifield, has just married for love. Amelia, who is in her first Season, now wants the same for herself. Though ton marriages rarely involve love, she has seen what a difference it’s made in Oliver’s life and she won’t settle for anything less—especially because she’s already in love with her new brother-in-law—who thinks her a featherbrain.

Derek de Wolfe, the new Earl of Reston, has seen his older sister, Diana, wed to Lord Merrifield. Now Derek’s ready to return to Northumberland because he has no plans to wed for several years, preferring to focus on changes he wishes to make at Esterley, his country estate. In truth, he’s running away from his growing attraction to Amelia, his new sister-in-law, whom he knows believes in love.

When Amelia decides to make Derek jealous, her plans backfire. She finds herself wed to a stranger who’s a known rake and her unhappiness grows when she realizes the kind of marriage they will have.

Will Amelia find a way to escape a union that should never have occurred and if she does, will Derek be waiting for her? Derek is Book 2 in The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle and a part of the De Wolfe Pack Connected World.

*Look for Diana (out now) and Thea (coming September 24), where Derek’s siblings find their own HEAs.

Why did you write this book?

I had been asked to write in Kathryn Le Veque’s de Wolfe Connected World and decided to do three novellas that told the stories of three de Wolfe siblings during the Regency Era. Diana was the first released (last month) and she won the heart of Lord Oliver Merrifield, a dashing, delightful man who’d won my heart (and readers)—but he hadn’t gotten an HEA of his own.

Derek is Diana’s brother, so this is his love story, full of some heartache but a very happy ending!

What is your favorite genre to read?

I enjoy reading thrillers most of all. I recently read The Chain—it’s terrifying—all the more so because I could see it easily happening.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Elizabeth Bennet is a constant favorite for me.

What are you working on at the moment?

My St. Clairs were meant to be a trilogy, but reader response has been so great that I am writing Books 4 & 5. These two romances will finish the series and be released this fall.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I have the last novella in this series left to go. Thea (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 3) releases September 24. While all three can be read as standalones, I think it’s fun to read all three of these novellas together. And don’t be surprised if you see a few St. Clairs pop up in this trilogy!

Embracing the Earl (The St. Clairs Book 3) by Alexa Aston

    Genre: Regency Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Can a rogue earl convince a stubborn bookseller their love is worth fighting for?
Read Book 3 in the bestselling “The St. Clairs” series for free with Kindle Unlimited!
Luke St. Clair, Earl of Mayfield, has tired of his empty, carefree life and seeks to find a spouse he can love and cherish, much as his brother and sister have done. Ridding himself of his mistress and lover, he commits to entering the upcoming Season with an open mind. Before the Season can even begin, however, Luke meets an independent beauty who does more than interest him.
After Lady Caroline Andrews loses her beloved sister, she decides she needs a change of scenery and travels to Boston to visit her aunt, only to be stranded for three years when England and America go to war. Once the peace accords are signed, Caroline returns to London. Discovering that her father has died deeply in debt, leaving his daughter nothing, Caroline uses an inheritance from her aunt to open her own bookstore and tearoom. Needing to support herself, Caroline declares she will never marry. Falling in love with Luke St. Clair wasn’t in her plans, but Luke is convinced the spirited, independent Caroline is the one for him.
Will the rogue with a heart for children persuade the stubborn bookseller that fate demands they wed?
Each book in The St. Clairs Trilogy is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.
    Series Order:
Book #1 Devoted to the Duke
Book #2 Midnight with the Marquess
    Book #3 Embracing the Earl

Why did you write this book?

This concludes the final romance in my St. Clairs’ trilogy, the first time I’ve written in the Regency Era—and I love it! Luke is the youngest St. Clair and a proverbial bad boy who’s tired of his empty life. I paired him with a strong Englishwoman who’d been stranded in America during the War of 1812. She’s taken on some independent American qualities during her years away from England that will make her quite the match for Luke!

What is your favorite genre to read?

I love reading everything, especially romance, suspense, and thrillers.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

    Miss Elizabeth Bennet is perfection!

What are you working on at the moment?

I’ve finished up the three novellas that feature new heroes and heroines in the Regency Era, while a few of the characters from my St. Clairs trilogy stop by for some of the fun. Readers will see the Earl of Merrifield making a fine match with a de Wolfe from the North, as well as two other de Wolfes finding their HEAs.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

Embracing the Earl (The St. Clairs Book 3) is a June 22 release. The three novellas will follow later in 2019.

Star Brides: Dept of Corrections by Pia Manning

    Genre Erotic Romance, SciFi, Action/Adventure

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): NR

Inmate 1640 would do anything to escape serving her long and well-deserved prison sentence. Anything. Including leaving Earth with Zuntx warrior Kadir, to serve as mate to him and the three other men of his unit.

Janine Longo was sentenced to twenty years for beating a man who tried to cheat her. Sick of her trouble making ways, prison authorities gave Janine an opportunity to attend a Bridal Fair, find an alien husband and leave Earth. When the pool of available mates dwindles and the guards call her name, Janine hastily agrees to return to Zuntx with Kadir. Besides, if she doesn’t like Zuntx or the men, she can always wander away and blend in with the crowd. Right?

Scarred and disfigured Kadir, is growing desperate. This is his third time as a Fair participant, and he doesn’t have the money to fund another attempt. So, when the woman in the orange jumpsuit agrees to accompany him, he accepts her offer.

Shortly after landing on Zuntx, Janine meets the other men in Kadir’s unit: Tero, Kobak and Bakur. Together, they disembark and head for home. Problem is, the thriving bustling Zuntx that Kadir left behind is not the same place he returns to. Riot torn, the planet’s homeless men now wander aimlessly seeking food, shelter and women.

This is not at all what Janine had in mind.

Can Janine find redemption on Zuntx? Is this her second chance? Can she learn to love her men? All four? And what about Tero’s little ‘problem?’ Hmmm…

Will life on Zuntx improve? Kadir has a plan…

Why did you write this book?

Kadir’s story kept nagging at me! I met him in Star Brides: Procured, when he was in a tough spot. His views of women and their capabilities needed to evolve. Janine’s not much of a rule follower. Her attitude has gotten her into trouble many times. She needs a second chance at redemption. So, I thought they’d be good for each other, and their journey a tale worth telling.

What is your favorite genre to read?

I love reading erotic romances, scifi/fantasy, mystery, suspense, and well, you get the idea!

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

I’d have to say Meg Corbyn from Anne Bishop’s The Others series. Bishop manages to weave the paranormal into the normal in such a way as to make it an accepted part of her character’s everyday life.

What are you working on at the moment?

Star Brides 4 looms on my horizon, as well as a paranormal/horror novel.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

Star Brides 4 will make an appearance in the next few months. I hope readers have enjoyed the Star Brides universe as much as I have enjoyed writing about its characters and their trials and tribulations finding true love. The as yet untitled para/horror novel will also find a release date.
