RLF Gems.
The top bloggers (by page load) for the month of June
resulted in a tie for third place in the top five. This month was unusual in
that the blog was closed for a period due to my illness. The good news is that
I did not have a heart attack. The bad news is that I learned my heart did have
a slight weakness that needed medication. I’ve been on the mend and taking
better care of myself as a result.
In June, we had a few character interviews, which were well
received, and every day that we had a posting saw top numbers. The article I
wrote for the Marketing for Romance Writers blog tour (in preparation for
Marketing Summer Camp) scored nearly twice as many hits as the next in line.
That was gratifying, and a surprise. Model and photographer Cherif Fortin and his
business partner Lynn Sanders hit it out of the park with their interview this
month. I had them on twice because their article was so unique. They helped
pioneer a new media that combines film, ebooks, audio books, and images to make
a new media. You can learn more about it at this URL.

The top bloggers (by page load) for the month of April resulted in two ties, and two people had two posts each, all of which came in at the top. My own birthday post had the most hits. After patting myself on the back, and nearly breaking my own arm in the process, ;) I decided to include the top eight, because there was only one point between numbers seven and eight. Surely a banner month for everyone!

1. It’s Kayelle Allen’s Birthday, Nab Alitus (giveaway)
2. Pizza Variations: Author Dinner (Kayelle)
3. Finding the Right Marketing (Dawne Prochilo)
4. Outlantacon Interview: Moxie Magnus
5. A Day in the Life of an Erotic Author (Dawne Prochilo)
6. Outlantacon Interview: TC Blue
7. Amber Riley’s Kindred Blood (Amber Riley)
8. Outlantacon Interview: Denny Upkins

I was pleased to see that three of the Outlantacon interviews scored at the top. There were seven featured, and all scored well. The entire month was a win-win. Guests scored some free books, everyone got to read cool articles and interviews, and there were links to books, upcoming conventions, and videos.

My thanks to everyone who took part this month. Guests this month also included (in alpha order by first name) Babette James, Casey Crow, Eugie Foster, Hushicho Phoenix, Janet
E Jones, JE Taylor, Kathy Kulig, Kay Dee Royal, Kiernan Kelly, Lee Martindale, Mary
Caelsto, Rue Allyn, Skhye Moncrief, and Tara Lain.

I’m pleased to report the status for March 2012 for the RLF blog. Winners this month topped the highest hits we’ve had since the blog began. This is in part due to Triberr, which helps deliver blog content to Twitter, and to the various networking apps such as Networked Blogs, Linky Followers, and Google Friend Connect. But the two top reasons for the success of these posts is good content, and the efforts of the guest blogger to share the site with others. For that, I’m grateful.

Here are the top five posts, in order of total hits. Click the link to visit the post.

1. Jason Aaron Baca – Interview

2. Paul Bright – Outlantacon Interview

3. LM Brown – Blogging, a New Form of Self-Imposed Torture

4. Kage Alan – Outlantacon Interview

5. Xavier Axelson – Character Interview (3rd time Xavier has been on the top hit list!)

Not including myself, authors this month (in alphabetical order by first name) were; Aubrie Dionne, Blaine D Arden, Camelia M Skiba, CR Moss, DC McMillen, Dev Bentham, Jane Toombs, JoAnne Kenrick, June Kramin, Lila Munro, Margay Leah Justice, Mary Wilson, Pauline Allan, Perry Martin, Sabrina Pandora, Skye Warren, and Stephanie Burkhart.
My sincere thanks to each guest who blogged this month. I enjoyed hosting you, and hope you’ll come back when you have a new book or other info to share.  Thank you to those who have made RLF a new place to hang out and discover new books and new authors.

RLF Gems

This is the second in a series of posts about the “Top Hits” on this website, who draws readers, and what types of articles are the most read.

I’ll list them in order of “page loads” — the number assigned by via a small html/java script on this page.

Not surprisingly, the top post of the month of February was the first “RLF Gems.” I won’t list it in the top five below, which has two entries at the number four spot in a tie.

#1 Victoria Lynne – With This Kiss (Book Release)

#2 Linda McMaken – Interview

#3 Xavier Axelson – Interview (Xavier was in the top 5 for 2011 posts)

#4 Vonnie Davis – Interview

#4 Frances Pauli – True Grit

#5 Kharisma Rhayne – Sexcation (a truly fun post) ^_^

Other authors included Marcia James, Jasmine Aherne, Evan Jacobs (founder of Kindlegraph), and Karenna Colcroft. I had several posts as well.

Congratulations to each of these writers for great posts and interviews during the month of February.

If you post here, and you want to know what your stats are for the time you were visiting, email me and I’ll let you know. I download a monthly spreadsheet with the basic info every month.
