Alina K Field’s new Regency Adventure @alinakfield #RLFblog #RegencyRomance
Alina K Field author of The Bastard’s Iberian Bride answers five easy questions.
Please tell us about yourself.
Though I earned a Bachelor of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and German literature, I discovered my true passion is in the much happier world of romance fiction. My roots are in the Midwestern U.S., but after six very, very, very cold years in Chicago, I moved to Southern California where I share a midcentury home with my husband, a spunky, blonde, rescued terrier, and the blue-eyed cat who conned his way in for dinner one day and decided the food was too good to leave.
What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?…
My mother’s Sunday beef pot roast with pan roasted potatoes, and her homemade cherry pie for dessert. Mm-mmm, I miss my mom’s cooking!
What’s your favorite hashtag to watch on Twitter?…
I must confess, I love to watch the hot-button current event hashtags trending on Twitter (and they change day-to-day) to see the stories before they’ve been officially vetted. Sure, I know some of the posts are inaccurate, slanted, or downright fake, but I love when the folks on the ground manage to scoop the professional media, and I love the diversity of opinions expressed, even if they’re a little crazy!
Describe the perfect vacation.
The perfect vacation is a driving vacation, with no “gotta-be-there-by” commitments. I’d love to take that kind of vacation in the British Isles, if only I could get my driving brain to operate on the other side of the road!
What are your hobbies?…
I’m a knitter, and I also sew, nowadays mostly easy, straight-stitch things like curtains and table runners, but I do make the occasional Regency gown.
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?…
My sources include blog posts and articles, memoirs, and historical books. For The Bastard’s Iberian Bride, I used Google maps to try to figure out the route to Gretna Green. I also love Pinterest for helpful images. I make boards for each of my stories to help me with inspiration and description. For the next books in this series, I’m reviewing books I read last year about 18th and 19th century smuggling in England, as well as early 19th century piracy in the West Indies. So much fun!
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?…
Please tell us about your latest booK

Daughter of spies
For a chance at true freedom, Paulette Heardwyn needs the fortune left her by her inscrutable father. But she doesn’t know what it is, where it is, or how to find it, and the only man with answers, the Earl of Shaldon, takes his secrets to the grave. Worse, the dead earl tries to force her marriage to his bastard son—and leaves her prey to a traitor seeking the same treasure she’s after.
Soldier, Steward, Bastard

#Romance Lives Forever @SayaraStClair @JessicaCale #RLFblog
May 2017 marked the first month on the new WordPress site. Because the feed into Triberr stayed the same, the number of viewers did not decrease. In fact, I linked to a few more tribes that feature the romance genre, which gave RLF an expanded reach and views were up all around. Sincere thanks to Dee Owens at Personalized Marketing Inc for her hard work at making this blog look awesome and work so perfectly.
Three of the top four posts were blog related, including our special RLFblog Day One post titled Discover Authors and Books with RLFblog, RLFblog Moving Day, and the monthly RLF Gems. I did not count them among the top bloggers because all those awards would go to me. I’d like to see the credit go to guests. You are why I do this!

Discover Alina K Field’s new Regency Romance @AlinaKField #RLFblog #historical
Welcome Alina K Field, author of The Bastard’s Iberian Bride, a new Regency Romance. Why did you write this book?I had a secondary character in one of my earlier books who stuck with me and demanded his own romantic adventure. As it turned out, Bink Gibson was an illegitimate son of an earl who served as a spy lord for England
during the Napoleonic wars. While I like all the titled gentlemen who populate the Regency world, I had a great deal of fun writing a character who doesn’t quite fit in with his aristocratic father and siblings. The Bastard’s Iberian Bride is the first book in a series I’m calling Sons of the Spy Lord. What is your favorite genre to read?I love historical romances, the more adventurous, the better.Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?If I may have two: William Doyle, who appears in several of Joanna Bourne’s books, and is the hero of her book The Forbidden Rose, and Loretta Chase’s Rupert Carsington, the hero of her book Mr. Impossible. What are you working on at the moment?I’m cleaning up Book 2 in the Sons of the Spy Lord series, doing final revisions. What books will we see from you in coming months?I’ll be releasing the second book in this series in late summer 2017, and the third book around the end of 2017.Please tell us about your latest book.Genre: Historical Romance, Book heat level (based on movie ratings): RDaughter of spiesFor a chance at true freedom, Paulette Heardwyn needs the fortune left her by her inscrutable father. The Marquess and the Midwife @AlinaKField #RLFblog #Regency #Romance
Welcome Alina K Field, author of The Marquess and the
Midwife, a new Regency Romance. Why did you write
this book? For starters, I love the Call the Midwife stories, as well
as secret babies. And, a few months before I started The Marquess and the
Midwife, a family member tragically lost a good friend in childbirth to
toxemia. (Unthinkable, right, in the twenty-first century?) I guess pregnancy
and childbirth were on my brain! Somehow, my muse came up with this story. What is your favorite
genre to read?I love Regency romance, and I especially love stories with a
lot of adventure added to the romance.Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?Hmm. May I have two? I love the rascally Rupert Carsington,
the Mr. Impossible of Loretta Chase’s book by that name. I also like William
Doyle, the bluff , clever spy of Joanna Bourne’s The Forbidden Rose. Actually,
all of Chase’s and Bourne’s characters are brilliant, but they both write the
most delicious heroes. What are you working
on at the moment, and what will we see from you in coming months?I’m working on a Regency series about four adult children
being married off by their father, an earl who is a retired spy lord. Or is he
retired? Book one is called The Bastard’s Iberian Bride and will be coming this
spring.About The Marquess and the Midwife
Genre: Regency romanceBook heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13Once upon a time, the younger brother of a marquess fell in
