Is It True: Love and Mayhem by Luanna Stewart @luanna_stewart #RLFblog #historical romancePlay Is It True with today’s guest Luanna Stewart, author of Love and Mayhem, a Historical Romance. This is a game in which authors answer yes and no questions. They can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.

First, tell us about your book.
Sybil is happily on the shelf, tending to her sheep. But she fears she’ll depart this life without experiencing physical love, which she suspects is rather enjoyable. When her long-lost fiancé returns from sea, she decides he’s the lucky man who’ll receive her virginity.
Max is eager to return to his sugar plantation and has no intention of remaining long in London. However, he didn’t bargain on a wilful, pretty, exasperating spinster determined to take him to her bed.
He insists on marriage but she wants only his body. Her heart is not part of the deal. Unfortunately, love doesn’t always follow the rules.
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Genre: historical romance
Now, tell us Yes or No for each answer below. Feel free to explain any (or none) of your answers.

Is it true:

this is your first book?
No, I’ve written many books, and have previously published two full-length novels (one a romantic suspense and one an historical romance) and three novellas (contemporary romance).
this book is part of a series?
Yes, this is the first in a series. I’ve just contracted the second in the series, Love and Turmoil, and hope it will be out before the end of the year.
you lost sleep while writing this book?
No, I can’t say that I lost sleep, but the characters and the plot were my constant companions until long after the book was finished. I’m considering writing a short story about Max and Sybil’s life a few years later because I want to visit with them again.
you did research for this book?
Oh, yes, lots and lots of research. That’s my favorite part of writing historical fiction. I especially enjoy searching for an obscure tidbit that I can include in the story.
some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)
Hm…not in the book exactly, but sheep are extremely important to Sybil. And there’s a question about fleas. Oh, and a very interesting conversation about fruit bats.
this book has more than one genre?
No, just historical romance.
you speak more than one language?
No, alas, I’ve lost most of my childhood French. As a Canadian, with French being the official second language, I was instructed in French from grade three thru grade 12. I remember enough to locate a bathroom or a library, LOL.
you grew up where you live now?
Yes, but only recently. We moved back to Nova Scotia a few months ago.
you love to read?
Yes! I can’t imagine not reading. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. I even belonged to a children’s book club and can remember my feeling of joy when I got home from school to find a new book in the mail.
you are never late?
I HATE being late and usually leave early to avoid it.
you love pizza?
Yes. Pretty much any topping except pineapple – I don’t understand that one at all.
you love sushi?
No. But I have to confess that I’ve never tried it, nor will I ever. I have a psychological block to the concept of eating raw fish, or any other type of raw animal protein.
you have a pet?
Yes, two cats: Mogget, a girl, and Bruno, a boy. She’s a princess and he’s a simple soul.
