Blood Tenderly by Linda Mooney @LindaMooney #RLFblog #romance #paranormal

Welcome Linda Mooney (writing as Gail Smith), author of Blood Tenderly, a new paranormal horror romance.

Why did you write this book?
I saw a comment on Facebook where one author commented that, “Horror is not romantic.” She was responding to another person about whether or not certain horror movies also contain romantic elements.
This got me to thinking. First off, I love a challenge. So I asked myself, could there be a romance that had elements of horror? It took me a while to come up with an idea, and Blood Tenderly is my answer. But since it’s equal parts horror and romance, I’m releasing it under my horror pseudonym of Gail Smith.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Believe it or not, horror! Followed by non-fiction. Romance is a close third.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Sherlock Holmes. I like to challenge myself and see if I can’t deduce what he’s thinking or planning before it’s revealed. I especially love the TV and movie versions starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey, Jr.
What are you working on at the moment?
It’s a contemporary fantasy featuring a gargoyle, entitled Stone.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
This past year, my New Year’s Resolution was to 1) end a series, 2) continue a series, and 3) begin a new series. I’ve kept that resolution with 1) Neverwylde, 2) Predator of the Pines, Subwoofers Bk. 4, and 3) Sky Titan, Deities Bk. 1.
I plan to do that again. However, which books I’ll write to fulfill that remains to be seen. (It depends on what my muse tells me to do, LOL!)
Please tell us about your latest book.
Genre paranormal horror romance.
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
With the cold weather quickly setting in, Lark is trying to ensure she has what she needs to make it through another bone-chilling winter in the cabin in the woods, but something has decided to pay her a visit. The question is, who? Or better yet, what?
There is a human invading his sanctuary, and he is determined to get rid of her. Humans in the past have left of their own accord, but not without a threat from him. However, this one is proving difficult. But she’ll go. One way or another, he will make her.
The thing is demanding that Lark leave, but she has nowhere to go. No one who cares. So she’s determined to stand her ground.
After all, what does she have to lose, besides her life?

Gail Smith is the pseudonym of Linda Mooney. Although Linda uses her real name for her sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal romances, she keeps her excursions into terror separate. And she wants her readers to know that when the book says Gail Smith, they’re going to get flat-out, unapologetic horror.

Linda loves to write sweet and sensuous romance with a fantasy, paranormal, or science fiction flair. Her technique is often described as being as visual as a motion picture or graphic novel.

A wife, mother, grandmother, and retired Kindergarten and music teacher, she lives in a small south Texas town near the Gulf coast where she delves into other worlds filled with daring exploits, adventure, and intense love.

She has numerous best sellers, including 10 consecutive #1s. In 2009, she was named Whiskey Creek Press Torrid’s Author of the Year, and her book My Strength, My Power, My Love was named the 2009 WCPT Book of the Year. In 2011, her book Lord of Thunder was named the Epic Ebook “Eppie” Award Winner for Best Erotic Sci-Fi Romance.
She also writes naughty humorous romances under the name of Carolyn Gregg, horror under the pseudonym of Gail Smith, and elementary teacher workbooks as L. G. Mooney.
