Just A Little Wicked by Lily Luchesi

Genre Fantasy

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G

Morgana Le Fay, known as the Princess of Poison, wants nothing more than to graduate school and become a potioneer, alongside her love, Guinevere.

When Camelot’s king, Uther Pendragon, is poisoned to death, his son Arthur gives the Coven an ultimatum: renounce magic and join Camelot, or die.

Now split between traitors and witches, Morgan must figure out how to stop the teenage king from destroying her home, especially since he now has Guinevere and Merlin at his side.

Why did you write this book?

I started the boxed set Just A Little Wicked in order to have a place for my novella, Morgana’s Revenge. Initially, I wrote The Coven Princess, finalizing it in 2017, and in the book, I mention Morgan Le Fay and a poison she discovered in my world, and ever since I wanted to write an Arthurian story.
The more time went by, the more the characters screamed in my ears, coming out and telling me about themselves. It went from “oh, this would be cool,” to “I want to hug these people and protect them with my life.”

What is your favorite genre to read?

I love horror and urban fantasy, as well as thrillers. UF is my primary genre, but I also adore PNR and high fantasy. In fact, I am waiting on a new paperback of all 3 Lord of the Rings novels as one omnibus because my copy fell apart.
I basically love anything that doesn’t have humans in it; any subgenre will do.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Raven Madison, from Ellen Schreiber’s Vampire Kisses series. When I was a little girl, reading vampire novels like they would fill me up and allow me to live, I loved Raven the most because she was so much like me. She dressed like me, had the same favorite bands, same attitude. I wanted to be her so badly, and I still do, even as an adult.

What are you working on at the moment?

I have a few irons in the fire, the first being something for Samantha Calcott, my pen name. But for this name, I’m working on Dead Memories, which will release June 24th in the Summer Bites boxed set.
It’s a prequel to The Paranormal Detectives Series, following protagonist Angelica Cross when she’s a teenager, sent away to a paranormal summer camp in the English countryside. All seems mildly annoying, until campers begin vanishing, turning up with their hearts ripped out.
It’s a mix of Dracula and Friday the 13th.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

There’s the aforementioned Dead Memories, and then in July there will be my brand new series, Paige Papillion’s Paranormal Mysteries. Book one, Daunting Darkness, will be in a boxed set specifically for cozies. It’s a brand new genre for me, and I’m excited. The book is nearly done and I can’t wait to see where the series takes me!
