Why did you write this book?
I’ve wanted to write a brides series for years. I wanted to write stories where the characters fall in love and get married. One of the settings for this first is New York City, a place I adore. I devour books based in New York. As this story developed, I had to make sure what the characters said and did was typical of New York. These characters have been developing in the back of my mind until I had to stop what I was doing and just write the story. It was great fun writing the story and brought back a lot of memories.
What is your favorite genre to read? I have a couple. I love historical romances based in the south. I mean, who doesn’t want to marry Rhett Butler? And I love romantic suspense. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is one of my favorite movies. I love how Angelina Jolie is Brad Pitt’s equal.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I think I gave it away earlier, but I do adore Scarlett. She’s so strong and she loves her family. She can completely ignore what they think of her and know that it’s her responsibility to make sure they have food in their mouths and a roof over her head. She forges ahead with blinders on. Nothing sways her from her goals. I love that attitude.
What are you working on at the moment?
The 7th book of the Crystal Creek Series is with the copyeditor. I’m excited because it gave me a chance to rewrite the ending of a very famous musical. The famous musical totally has the wrong ending, and it gave me the opportunity to create a heroine with my favorite career. I hope to release the book in September. Now that the release date is in writing, I’d better release it in September. LOL!
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I’m working on another Crystal Creek Boxed Set which I hope to release in time for Christmas! Ho! Ho! Ho! And I’m about halfway through the 1st draft of the 2nd book in the Beaumont Brides Series which is set in my 2nd favorite city in the whole world—Charleston, South Carolina.
