Writers can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.

Fear the Reaper by Jami Gray

Genre Post-apocalyptic Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
When the hunter becomes the hunted, it’s time to reap what you sowed…
The world didn’t end in fire and explosions, instead it collapsed slowly, like falling dominoes, an intensifying panic of disease, food shortages, wild weather and collapsing economies, until what remained of humanity battles for survival in a harsh new reality.
After vowing to never again put his life on the line for another’s ambitions, Reaper, leader of Fate’s Vultures, has earned himself a formidable reputation. Unfortunately, that reputation isn’t enough to stop an old enemy from retaliating. With bounty hunters sniffing at their heels, Reaper vows retribution and takes the Vultures to the one person no one expects–Lilith, the woman he once loved.
As leader of the Rocky Mountain territory, Lilith has paid dearly for a position that kept her secrets safe. When a looming threat draws close, every devil’s bargain she’s made falls by the wayside and she is forced to partner with the man who walked away.
With no choice but to work together against a common enemy, Lilith and Reaper need to find their way through the minefield of past betrayals and broken promises to ensure a future for those they’ve sworn to protect … before it all goes to hell.

Is it true:

this is your first book?
Nope, this is actually my twelfth.
this book is part of a series?
Yep! I’m a serious series writer (try saying that five times fast!) This is the fourth and last book in my post-apocalyptic romance series, Fate’s Vultures.
you lost sleep while writing this book?
Of course. Actually, every time I get near the middle, I start worrying about the story. Even worse, as I head into the end, the characters start haunting my dreams. When it comes the world that the Vultures live in, yeah, those images seeped into my dreams more than once and kept me up.
you did research for this book?
I’m a research fiend, so I could lose myself in research. I have to limit how much time I spend on research. To help ensure my world building rang true, I ended up reading a lot of theorical papers on worse case scenarios for world economies, civilizations, and so forth. It was actually pretty darnn scary to delve that deep into some scenarios, but the fact that humans managed to find a way to rise above, keeps the light of hope burning. I hang on to that hope no matter how discouraging the stories playing across our world theater.
some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)
Nope, everyone’s human. The difference these characters have been honed by brutal circumstances and a harsh new world, so black and white is actually a murky kind of gray.
this book has more than one genre?
To me, no. It’s a straight up post-apocalyptic romance, but I’ve watched it get categorized as Sci-Fi (I’m not even sure how that’s possible) and Action & Adventure (and I can totally see that one).
you speak more than one language?
Not fluently. I grew up on the US/Mexico border so I spend most of my teenage years speaking Spanish.
you grew up where you live now?
I’ve stayed in the same state, yes, but not without some side trips to the Pacific Northwest and Utah. Somehow, I always end back in Arizona. My Knight in Slightly Muddy Armor and I will probably attempt another escape in a few years when the Prankster Duo have settled. Fingers crossed we’ll be successful this time.
you love to read?
Holy mama-jamma, do I ever. I’m an avid reader, have been for-freakin’-ever. When I’m not on a project I can devour four to five books a week, but when I’m writing I tend to slow down to two to three.
you are never late?
I wish I could claim that honor, but I do my best not to be. I find that if I’m trying to stuff a bunch of errands into a condensed timeframe, I tend to skate the tardiness line.
you love pizza?
Eh…I like it, but love it? Not me. The males in my house, however, consider it a primary food group.
you love sushi?
That I do, and because the males in my house don’t, it leaves more for me.
you have a pet?
Two beautiful furry girls–Lola and Angel–our rescue-lab sisters. I needed to balance out the gender scales in my humble abode.
