Author Bio

Barbara White Daille lives with her husband in the sunny U.S.
Southwest, where they don’t mind the lizards in their front yard but could do without
the scorpions in the bathroom.

A writer from the age of nine and a novelist since eighth grade,
Barbara is now an award-winning author with a number of novels to her credit.

The first book in The Hitching Post Hotel series, The Cowboy’s
Little Surprise, debuts in April 2015, followed by A Rancher of Her Own in July
and an as-yet-untitled book in December.

When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?

Romance, romantic suspense, mystery. Sometimes YA. Whatever it
is, I like something with a romantic relationship in it.

What’s your favorite down-home
family style meal?

Pot roast with carrots, potatoes, onions, and brown gravy, with
plenty of everything for leftovers. Yum!

What is your go-to meal
when you dine out?

Really, Alaskan King crab legs, but since they’re pricey, I only
do that if we’re celebrating something special. On a regular night out, anything
Italian—lasagna, baked ziti, stuffed shells. A salad on the side. A full bread basket
with warm olive oil and herbs. My only regret is most Italian restaurants don’t
serve brownies or chocolate cake!

Describe the perfect vacation.

A condo near a beach, where we could take long walks at night,
view the stars and listen to the surf. Nearby, there would have to be good restaurants,
an ice cream parlor, and a shop that sold decadent chocolate desserts. And of course,
I’d have to have access to many quiet, comfortable spots where I could curl up with
a book.

Tell us about your favorite
toy as a child.

My favorite toy was a book. I don’t mean to “cheat,”
but I wasn’t into much of anything else. I spent all my free time reading—and wish
I could still do that now. A book was always at the top of my list when anyone asked
what I wanted for my birthday or Christmas, and I loved loved LOVED getting the
next Bobbsey Twins or Nancy Drew or Trixie Belden in the series.
