Two worlds collide, focusing on one objective – to save a hospital.
Nate O’Halloran is a PR superstar, an expert in crisis management
for his image-conscious celebrity clients. When his college roommate, now a hospital
director in Buffalo, calls to beg for his help– a cancer researcher on staff has
disappeared with millions of dollars’ worth of government research funds– Nate
agrees to help right away, though this situation is pretty small potatoes for him.
Val Chase, the hospital’s PR director, is none too thrilled when
Nate shows up; does it mean her boss doesn’t trust her to handle this mess herself?
Against her better judgment, Val decides she and Nate have to work together to save
the hospital’s reputation, though the explosive attraction they feel is making any
actual “work” difficult…
What are your main characters’ names, ages, and occupations?
Nate O’Halloran; late
30’s; PR guru to the stars
Val Chase; early 30’s,

Care Center

Interview with Nate O’Halloran

Tell us about yourself.
Going All In

Well, prior to meeting
Val, I was one of those guys who celebrities turned to when there was something
they needed to spin or to go away. Stuff like sex tapes, allegations of cheating…*wry
smile* Yeah, I know it wasn’t exactly high-brow stuff, but I was good at it.

Tell us about Val.
Val is absolutely amazing. When I first got to Buffalo to help my old college
roommate and CEO of Cancer Care Center Doug out of a terrible situation when one
of his docs made off with millions, I thought she might be a nice diversion while
I was away from my “real life”. But through her I realized how empty that
supposed “real life” was.
What would Val say is your strongest point?
*smiling* No doubt my good looks and charm. Kidding. Probably
how hard I work. I’m like a dog with a bone when I’ve got a problem to solve.
What would Val say is your biggest weakness?
Her. Very definitely her. I can’t deny that woman anything. I
even let her drive my ’63 Porsche. That’s love. *laughing*
What do you wish was different about your life?
I wish I hadn’t spent so much of my life doing something that
ultimately was so frivolous, in comparison to the work Val and Doug do. I wish I
had been there for more of the fight, instead of wasting my life and my talent helping
self-centered celebrities escape from their stupid mistakes.
If you were given your fondest wish, what would it be?
A year ago I might’ve
said something different, but now- to cure cancer. Val and Doug both work so hard,
day after day, alongside thousands of other employees all focused on one goal, to
eradicate the world of a truly terrible disease. With people like the ones who work
at Cancer Care Center,
cancer can’t win.
As a child, who was your best friend? Tell us about him/her.
Not as a child, but I’d
love to tell you about Doug, who I met in college. I was going through a…rough time,
and Doug was there for me when I needed a friend, even asking his parents to open
their home to me. I’ll never forget that he was the one who never, ever turned his
back on me. So when he called me for help, it was a no-brainer. Of course I would
do everything I could.

bosses and cranky co-workers. Her inspiration comes from everywhere, but she’d particularly
like to thank the Buffalo Sabres, the hockey team near and dear to her heart.
