words)

Tagline: For as much as
she tries to be the boss, he’s the real alpha in the room.
Blurb:
Someone’s trying to sabotage the launch of Natural by Nicolette’s
new line of nail polishes and Nikki is too danged pregnant for her usual brand of
vigilantism. She tasks her ambitious junior chemist, Trinity, with the chore of
rooting out the pest. As double insurance, she also bribes her Jack-of-All-Trades
tech guy Jeremiah to lend his expertise to the investigation.
Trinity believes Jerry—a heavily tattooed former pro surfer—is
lazy and immature. Jerry thinks Trinity—a twenty-four-year-old preppy know-it-all
who fancies herself the company’s future Vice President—takes herself too seriously.
They obviously hadn’t heard about how opposites attract. Then one night while watching
security footage, Jerry stuns her with both his past and his kiss.
Trinity quickly learns that for as much as she tries to be Jerry’s
boss, he’s the real alpha in the room. And when he cleans himself up, he’s damn
near irresistible—not just to Trinity. With the nail polish’s launch in limbo and
the company’s new ad campaign making waves, it’s Trinity who feels she needs to
grow up. If she doesn’t, she’ll lose her shot at the only man she’s ever wanted
who’s smarter than her.
What are your main characters’
names, ages, and occupations?
Jeremiah (Jerry) Rouse
is 32 years old and works as a the tech guru at Natural by Nicolette: a small cosmetics
company in Eastern North Carolina.
Trinity Jordan is 24 and
is N-by-N’s junior formulations chemist.

Interview with Jerry Rouse

Tell us about yourself.
What are you like?
Um…I dunno. I don’t really like talking about myself. In the
past when people have asked me questions like this I’d hand the sheet over to my
whoever my girlfriend of the time was. They were happy to dish all the dirt. I guess
that would be cheating, right?
What do you think is your
strongest point?
My ability to remain calm under pressure. It’s taken a lot of
practice, but I developed the skill from surfing, I think. What are you going to
do when you wipe out? Throw your board at the ocean? Get mad at it? No: you grit
your teeth and toss yourself back out there.
Do you have a weakness?
(If so, what do you think it is? What does your lover think it is? What does your
enemy think it is?)
Sure! My weakness is named “Kate Rouse.” She’s my dad’s
wife.
Trinity would probably say my weakness is not finishing my degree.
My enemy? I suppose if I had one it’d be Kate. She’d say my weakness
is being alive. She really is an awful human being. She should probably consider
meditation.
What drives you to do
the things you do? What makes you want to be the “good guy?”
The want of recreation drives my professional endeavors. I work
hard so I can play hard. Happiness makes me want to be the good guy. I want that
life with a perfect house and lazy Sundays curled up on the sofa with another warm
body.
What’s your favorite guilty
pleasure?
Teasing Trinity. It’s fun.
If you didn’t know how
old you were how old would you be?
24-ish.
A biography has been written
about you. What do you think the title would be in six words or less?
Work Now, Surf Later
What song would best describe
your life?
“Walk Over Me” by The All-American Rejects
If you were a tool, what
would people use you to do?
Probably tack up all those messy computer cords.
Picture yourself as a
store. Considering your personality and lifestyle, what type of products would be
sold there?
Motherboards, giant computer monitors, wireless peripherals,
game controllers…
As a child, what was your
favorite thing about school?
Napping in physics.
Tell us an embarrassing
story that has to do with a pet. If you have no pets, a story about a significant
other will do. ^_^
I had a ferret for a while when I was a kid. One day Kate had
annoyed me in some way I can’t specifically recall, so as a little prepubescent
payback I left little Slick in her underwear drawer.
I didn’t have Slick much longer. I miss the little guy. Hope
he’s okay.
If you came with a warning
label, what would it say?
Caution: smarter than you.

Please
Fill in the Blanks

I love pizza with mushrooms.
I’m always ready for surfing.
When I’m alone, I sleep.
You’d never be able to tell, but my teeth are capped.
If I had a halo it would be made of computer cords.
If I could surf professionally again I’d jump at the
chance
.
I can never resist antagonizing Kate because she deserves
it
.
