Title The Saint’s Devilish Deal
Genre Contemporary Romance
Author Kristina Knight
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Esmerelda Quinn has been looking for a place to belong since
her parents were killed in a car crash when she was young. The closest thing to
home has always been Aunt Constance’s villa in Puerto Vallarta, so after a string of dead-end
hotellier jobs, she’s coming home to run the villa.
Santiago Cruz has called the villa home for as long as he can
remember. In between surfing events, Constance
has always had a room for him. Color him surprised when Constance decides to retire
– and leaves a joint interest in the villa to both Santiago and Esme.
Esme isn’t thrilled to share ownership of the villa with the
youngest Cruz brother – especially when she learns Santiago’s brother has been after the villa for
years. But Santiago
has grown up while she’s been away at school and soon she finds herself falling
for the rich surfer down the hall — all over again.

Interview with Esmerelda

What’s your external complication?
In the story world your author created, explain what it is you fear most.
Santiago,
in a single word. Oh, I love him — always have — but he’s…complicated. And he’s
burned me before. So when I returned to Puerto
Vallarta and found him — literally — sleeping in my bed,
it was…freaky!
Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Santiago,
again! I already mentioned that he’s complicated but at the heart of him is the
most wonderful belief in the people he cares about. He didn’t have the best childhood
and his family is, well, dysfunctional. But he has created a family in the people
at the villa and me.
What would that person
say about you?
He would say I’m wound a little too tight, but that this sundress
I’m wearing will help cool me off. Ha!
What is your family like?
My parents died in a car crash when I was young, so there was
only me and my aunt, Constance. She is everything to me, and now we’ve added Santiago to our family unit
and I couldn’t be happier.
Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
Yes, I got the guy, didn’t I? And together we saved Casa Constance.
Things aren’t perfect, but we’re working on that.

About the Writer

Why did you choose to
write about this character?
I couldn’t not write Esmerelda’s story. She and Saint deserved
to get things right. They were both wounded by their childhoods and it was so much
fun to help them set things right.
Was there anything you
discovered about this character that was a surprise to you?
How unbusinesslike Esme really is. She puts up a good front,
but at the core, she’s fun and silly and adventurous.
When you wrote about this
character, what made you the most happy? What made you the most sad?
Seeing her come alive again, try new things again made me the
happiest, and even though her childhood still makes me sad, seeing her come to terms
with it and learn from what happened also made me extremely happy.
What other character from
this book do you want to write about? Care to tell us why?
I really want to tell Tobias’ story next. He’s Santiago’s brother and he’s
very tightly wound, but in a different way than Saint is. I need to figure him out!
Are any sequels planned
for this book?
As a matter of fact, yes! I’m just now digging into Tobias’ story
and I’m hoping to have it out to readers in the early spring.
Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
I love and appreciate you all so much! Thank you for coming along
on this crazy, writer ride!

Author Bio

Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running from
car crash to fire to meetings with local police–no, she wasn’t a troublemaker,
she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United States, writing
about everything from a serial killer’s capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Along
the way she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy Boots and an abiding love
for romance novels. Kristina writes contemporary romance with a smattering of sass,
sex and (of course) drama, and she loves hearing from readers. And just like the
characters from her favorite books, she’s living her own happily ever after.
