    Satin Boots by Holly Bargo

    Genre: Western Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG

Enjoy these sweet, clean romances set in the American Old West:

Angels High: A woman who makes her living by winning at a man’s game learns to expect trouble, especially when the stakes are high. But when trouble finds her this time, Angelica Durant gets more than she bargained for.

The Mail Order Bride’s Choice: Looking to improve her circumstances, an indigent woman travels across the country as a mail order bride to meet a fiancé who has plans for her other than marriage.

Coming Home: Life is hard. No one knows this better than Dessie Humphrey who’s trying to hold onto the family farm. When aid comes in the form of a wanted gunslinger, she’s in no position to refuse.

Pride And Peace: It’s an open secret on the Lazy Five that Jessie North is a woman, but that doesn’t stop Daniel Harper from reacting badly when he learns about it. Can he overcome his prejudice when the proud half-breed saves his life?

Resurrection: Undertakers bury the dead; they don’t resurrect bodies left for dead. But that’s exactly what Antonio DiCarlo does when a lovely Swedish immigrant lands on his doorstep.

The Rancher’s First Love: When a gravely wounded Chinese woman collapses on Clint Cheswick’s front porch, he doesn’t expect to compete with his half-breed foreman for her affection.

Why did you write this book?

I previously collaborated with bestselling western author Russ Towne on a collection of western short stories, Six Shots Each Gun. We had a lot of fun. Since I’d hopped into his genre for that project, he suggested collaborating again and edging into my genre: romance, but sticking to the American Old West. We had a lot of trouble coordinating our schedule, which resulted in us releasing separate collections of western romances, mine being Satin Boots. We still intend to collaborate on another project.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Romance. No question about that. Fantasy follows close behind. However, I also enjoy reading mysteries (Robert B. Parker and Dick Francis are old favorites), too.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

I have to admit to an enduring fondness for Spenser, created by Robert B. Parker. He’s so self-contained and confident in what he can (and can’t) do and what he knows (and doesn’t know) that I envy him. I enjoy the wry humor, too.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m working on a contemporary/new adult/biker romance that takes place in northern Ohio. Two disparate worlds collide when a country girl crashes into a biker rally in pursuit of the biker who shoots and kills her sister’s 4-H steer. The hero is a war veteran, a former Marine who lives the motorcycle club (MC) lifestyle because he needs the organizational structure and freedom of the open road. I haven’t quite figured out how they’re going to reconcile their differences in such a manner that doesn’t require either of them giving up everything to conform to the other’s lifestyle. That should be interesting.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I started on another paranormal romance which may very well be a fifth book in the Immortal Shifters series. The hero is a dragon shifter and I think I’m going to make the heroine sidhe. I also have over two dozen more unfinished manuscripts to work on if nothing else grabs my attention.

When she’s not working on other people’s documents or reading, Holly finds time to transfer the voices in her head to paper … er … computer. If she doesn’t, there’s a definite possibility her mind will explode.
And for those who might wonder from where the pseudonym of Holly Bargo came, it’s quite simple really. Horses. Namely an elegant and temperamental Appaloosa mare who has long since crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is fondly remembered for guarding toddler children and crushing a brand new pager.

A Bride for Dalton by Caroline Clemmons @carolinclemmons #RLFblog #NewRelease #western historical romance

A Bride for Dalton by Caroline Clemmons @carolinclemmons #RLFblog #NewRelease #western historical romanceCaroline Clemmons, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

A Bride for Dalton by Caroline Clemmons

    Genre Western historical romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG

Rebecca wants a husband but not the man her stepbrother/guardian insists she wed. To escape his threats she turns to a family friend for help. Reverend McClain suggests she enter a proxy marriage to his only living relative, a nephew who ranches in Montana. Out of options, she agrees. Until she arrives in Sweet Springs, she has no idea the telegram with instructions to her supposed groom has not been delivered. Where does that leave her?

Dalton is working with dangerous men to accomplish his goal. The last thing he needs at this time is a wife in the way. He is a gentleman and sees no other solution than to complete the vows. How is he going to keep her out of harm’s way while he completes this job?

Rebecca and Dalton embark on married life in unusual circumstances. Can love blossom in tumultuous times?

Why did you write this book?

I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in this multi-author series, The Proxy Brides, by Christine Sterling Bortner, the series originator. This is my second in the series—the first was A Bride for Gideon. I’ve enjoyed writing this story I loved writing the premise of a bride who thinks she’s married a man. When she arrives, he has no idea what she’s talking about. What is she to do? What is he to do? I hope readers will want to learn what comes next!

What is your favorite genre to read?

Although I read many genres, my favorite stories are western historical mail-order brides. I also love reading Regencies but have never attempted to write one.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Taylor Stapleton from Prince Charming by Julie Garwood. That book is a clever combination of English Victorian and American western historical.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m writing a Christmas story at the moment—even though we are experiencing near 100 degree F weather. I love Christmas, so getting into the mood is not difficult for me. In fact, Melody, Angel Creek Christmas Brides book 7, is already up for pre-order.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

In addition to a couple of Christmas stories this year, An Agent for Lydia in the Pinkerton Matchmaker series will be out January 10, followed by an energetic release schedule for 2020. Writing is bliss for me—even on difficult days, I’m doing a job I love.

The over fifty titles she has created in her pink cave have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards. She writes sweet to sensual romances about the West, both historical and contemporary as well as time travel and mystery. Her series include the Kincaids, McClintocks, Stone Mountain Texas, Bride Brigade, Texas Time Travel, Texas Caprock Tales, Loving A Rancher, and Pearson Grove as well as numerous single titles and contributions to multi-author sets. New from Caroline Clemmons: Deborah’s Dilemma @CarolinClemmons #RLFblog #NewRelease #historical

Caroline Clemmons, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

    Deborah’s Dilemma by Caroline Clemmons

    Genre historical romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G
What can Deborah do to protect herself from the devil plaguing her hometown?
Can a young man who’s been away for six years fit into the community he left?
What madman is responsible for the murder and mayhem plaguing Pearson Grove?
Deborah Taber has been concerned by her inability to choose a life’s occupation. That worry was pushed aside when someone shot her brother and fire bombed her family’s newspaper, The Pearson Grove Gazette. She believes Trey Pearson is innocent of attacking her brother—isn’t he? She’s had a crush on Trey since second grade and desperately wants to trust him.
Wade Pearson III, called Trey, is happy to be home on Pearson Ranch after six years in New England. He trained to manage his family’s far-reaching investments. Nothing prepared him to be accused of murder or targeted by a killer. If not for quick action by the sheriff, Trey would have been lynched by vigilantes. He wants to help trap the real villain while protecting Deborah, her family, and his.
Can Deborah and Trey survive the threats against them? Will this clever murderer be caught before he delivers his terrible revenge against those he believes slighted him?
Why did you write this book?
Deborah’s Dilemma is book 3 in my Pearson Grove Series set in North Central Texas in 1885. I wanted this series to explore the diverse young women in a small town, including their dreams and their efforts to achieve them.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Historical western romance and second would be Regency. I love 19th century history in particular and enjoy reading books set in that time.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Taylor Stapleton from Julie Garwood’s Prince Charming probably ties with Fallon from Louis L’Amour’s Fallon but for different reasons. Taylor has far more strength than she realizes and used her resources to rescue her niece and nephew and their companion. Fallon believes himself beyond redemption and yet he works harder than anyone to save the town he began as a scam.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m writing An Agent for Lily in the Pinkerton Matchmaker series. This new series is a popular series but this is my first contribution.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I’ll have four more of the Pearson Grove series, another Proxy Brides, another Pinkerton Matchmaker, and two Christmas novellas. The rest of the year will be busy!

Garnet by Caroline Clemmons @CarolinClemmons #RLFblog #NewRelease #HistoricalWesternCaroline Clemmons, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

    Garnet by by Caroline Clemmons

    Genre Historical western romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG
Garnet Chandler is fighting to hold onto her café, her niece and nephew, and her sanity after the deaths of her husband, his brother, and his sister-in-law. A persistent prowler and the threat of losing custody of her niece and nephew spur her to action. She doesn’t need another man, but she needs a husband long enough to convince the children’s grandparents she can offer them a stable home.
Bounty hunter Adam Bennett was ready to settle down when his friend was killed by a horse thief. He set out to capture the man who had also killed a guard when escaping prison. Adam must have let down his defenses because the man he followed and two cohorts waylaid Adam, beating him and stealing all his possessions before kicking him down a steep ravine. Adam is determined to capture the three as soon as he heals from their encounter.
Garnet and Adam join forces to achieve both their goals. Will that be enough?
Why did you write this book?
When Charlene Raddon asked me to be in this series, I agreed with her that The Widows of Wildcat Ridge would be an exciting project. Using her parameters, I chose to write about Garnet, a young woman widowed by a horrific mining disaster which also claimed the lives of many people who ran to help rescue the miners. I decided she should have her niece and nephew to raise. (I love stories which include children, don’t you?) The story grew from that premise.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I am an eclectic reader but my preference is western historical romance.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
My favorite would have to be a tie between Taylor Stapleton from Prince Charming by Julie Garwood and Jenny Jones from The Promise Of Jenny Jones by Maggie Osbourne.
What are you working on at the moment?
Monk’s Bride, a novella in my Kincaid series
What books will we see from you in coming months?
In addition to the one above, I will write more in my new series, Pearson Grove. Each book will have as a heroine the women mentioned in MAIL-ORDER MORIAH, book one of the series. Those are Lula, Alexandra, Deborah, Corinne, Felicity, and Evelyn.

Hot-Tempered Hannah by Jo Grafford @JoGrafford #RLFblog Western #Historical RomanceJo Grafford, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your hero, but first, tell us about the book.

    Hot-Tempered Hannah by Jo Grafford

    Genre: Sweet western historical romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G
Gabe Donovan, notorious bounty hunter, is busy trying to outride an Arizona-sized hole in his heart, when the director of the Gallant Rescue Society offers him the chance to redeem his tortured soul by tracking a missing mail order bride. He can hardly believe the ghost who’s been haunting his memories is a dead ringer for the missing bride in the photograph.
Either the woman he’s never stopped loving has a twin, or she did a bloody good job of faking her own death and crushing his hopes of any kind of future together. There’s only one way to find out — track down the hot-tempered beauty and haul her back to Headstone for questioning!

Know the Hero from Hot-Tempered Hannah

Here are some fun questions to help us know your hero.
It’s late, he’s bored. What does he do?
Heads to the nearest Inn for a home-cooked meal and a few hours of sleep. He doesn’t loiter on the streets at night unless he’s on the job and never stays in any one town too long. He’s helped put too many criminals behind bars, and a few of them have partners looking for revenge.
What kind of food would he impulse buy if hungry?
Anything cooked fresh — preferably by a woman. He’s had to fend for himself out on the trail most of his adult life, so a hot meal is always a treat.
Describe the kind of clothes he prefers to wear.
Chaps and boots, a holster with two guns for quick draws, a knife strapped at his ankle, a wide-brimmed Stetson pulled low over his eyes to protect him from the sun (and make it harder for those he’s hunting down to identify him until it’s too late).
Does he know how to fix things?
If he doesn’t know how to fix it, he can figure it out. Living on the road has forced him to depend on no-one but himself.
He tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
He took a partner about a year ago against his better judgment. He always worked alone before her, but she more or less taunted him into it. She’s a successful bounty hunter like himself — known throughout the West as Hot-Tempered Hannah. They took on one dangerous job after another and put a bunch of no-good horse thieves and bank robbers behind bars together. Until that one fateful job where he didn’t make it to their rendezvous point in time…where the men he and Hannah were hunting managed to trap her inside a old mine shaft and set it afire. He’s been stumbling around in a daze ever since her death, unable to forgive himself for not being there when she needed him the most.
What is he like first thing in the morning?
Clear minded and cold calculating, like he is all hours of the day.
How does he handle things when in a “proper” social situation?
Like a perfect gentleman. It’s the one secret he’s never shared with anyone, not even his partner Hannah while she was alive. He was raised by a wealthy attorney back East and owns a hefty trust fund that he never uses. He’s spent the last few years working by the sweat of his brow, making his own fate, and hopefully leaving the world a better place for it.
Valet or takes care of himself?
    Takes care of himself
    Necktie/cravat or open shirt?
Necktie for nice occasions (which are rare) and kerchief to protect him from the sand and sun.
    Sleeves buttoned or rolled up?
Buttoned to protect him from the sand, sun, and rattlesnakes.
    Powdered wig or natural hair?
All natural, sun-streaked, and usually hidden beneath a Stetson.
    Carriage or horseback?
Horseback for chasing down criminals and making quicker get-aways.
Thanks for helping us get to know your hero!
