Gail, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your series.
Her Perfect Gentleman in the Tales of Little Macclow series
Genre: Regency romance (traditional)
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-17
She is the worst thing that could happen to him. He might be the best thing that could happen to her. How will two hearts on such opposite tracks find their way to true love?
The last thing Christopher Haslitt needs or wants is another involvement with a high-ranking lady. He is still trying to repair both his heart and his reputation after last season’s disaster left him branded as a fortune hunter. Five days in Little Macclow for his friend’s wedding should be only a brief delay on his path. But he hasn’t counted on spending it with five unmarried daughters of earls, one of whom has her sights set firmly on him!Lady Honoria deRaymond finds Mr. Haslitt more attractive and charming than any other gentleman of her acquaintance. What’s more, his perfect manners include overlooking her tendency to be impulsive and not always quite proper. She knows the rules; she just has trouble sticking to them. Marriage to a high-ranking peer, as her family expects for her, will mean a highly visible life of constant pressure to conform and behave properly. Could Mr. Haslitt, a baronet’s son, be her means to escape such a fate? Can she possibly win his heart in just five days? When she returns to London, her one chance to forge a different future may be gone.
Sweet with a little sizzle, the Tales of Little Macclow are linked by a common setting and recurring characters. They follow a shared chronology and, while best read in order, they are complete stand alone romances that will warm your heart.
Little Macclow—a village tucked away and maybe touched by magic…
Heart-warming Regency tales of love’s triumph.
Which book is this in the series?
Her Perfect Gentleman is Book #3 (on pre-order now, releases Dec 15)
How many books do you plan for the series?
Six in total, so three more after this one. Unless the plan changes! I hadn’t actually planned on this one, but readers asked for this hero’s story, so I added it. <g>
How many books are completed?
Just the first three, although I have notes and research bits for the ones to come. I’m a slow writer, but I’m starting on the next one now.
What characters are the main stars in your series?
I’d have to say that the village of Little Macclow is one of the main stars of the series, for it is the place and the people who live there that link the stories together. Each book stands alone with a different couple as the main focus, but there are recurring characters around them. Lady Anne and Squire Hammon, who own the village, inevitably figure in each story along with the vicar of St. Benedict’s Church, Dr. Tamworth, whose daughter’s story is told in Book #2. Her wedding is what brings the different main characters together in Book #3. Another recurring character is known as The Lady, a mysterious being who may or may not be an angel, ghost, or other supernatural figure—a mere superstition the villagers believe in, or a real force for good acting under God’s hand. Her intervention can be something very small, but still significant, more or less in each book. Is there magic in Little Macclow? No one knows.
What is the overall theme in this series?
That even in such a small place as the village of Little Macclow, love is a powerful force that brings people together and unites their hearts.
Please list the series titles below, in any order you prefer.
Lord of Her Heart, Book One
Lord of Misrule, Book Two
Her Perfect Gentleman, Book Three
What did you like best about writing this series?
I love all the characters!! But I also enjoy exploring the rural Derbyshire setting and customs. It’s a nice change from the ballrooms of London and allows me to tell the stories of people who are not aristocrats (although there are still a number of those, too).
What other books (not in this series, have you written?)
I wrote seven Regency romances for Signet NAL/Penguin back in the day, then took sixteen years off from my writing career to deal with family health crises. I started over again with this series in 2018. Three of those old Signet “classic Regencies” are still available as ebooks from Penguin. I have issued new editions of three others, and have one more backlist book awaiting major surgery before I reissue it. If I could just clone myself, all the future projects would get done so much faster!!

Award-winning author Gail Eastwood started writing stories as soon as she learned to string words together on paper, and blames Beatrix Potter and A.A. Milne for making her a devoted Anglophile at a very early age. After detours into journalism and rare books, she finally found her path writing Signet Regencies acclaimed for their emotional depth and innovative plots. Twice nominated for RomanticTimes Magazine’s Career Achievement award, a Golden Leaf winner and twice a Holt Medallion finalist, Gail had to put writing on hold to deal with family health issues. But now she’s back doing what she loves best and offering readers a new, heart-warming Regency series set in a small village possibly touched by magic (or it is just the power of Love?), Tales of Little Macclow.

Is It True: The Lady and Her Quill by Ruth A Casie @RuthACasie #RLFblog #HistoricalRomance
Two authors take on a writing challenge based on a mystery taken out of the headlines. Ruth A Casie’s historical romance, The Lady and Her Quill. Her head kept telling her to stop loving him, but her heart couldn’t let him go.
Welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Let’s play Is It True with today’s guest, Ruth A.Casie. This is a game with yes and no questions. Writers can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.
The Lady and Her Quill in the series The Ladies of Sommer-by-the-Sea
Genre Historical Romance, Regency Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG
Her mind kept telling her to stop loving him, but her heart couldn’t let him go.
Renowned author Lady Alicia Hartley has lost her muse after a bad review. She blames it all on the author JC Melrose. A chance encounter with a handsome, witty Justin Caulfield has her heart racing, and her muse seemingly back. Is he her savior or her worst nightmare?
He didn’t see the turbulent ocean. He was too busy dealing with a different tempest.
The recently retired Captain Justin Caulfield is facing his own demons. As gifted author JC Melrose, his stories honor men who died at the hand of one man. His only focus is to avenge their deaths, that is, until he meets and falls in love with Lady Alicia.
The two authors take on a writing challenge based on a story of stolen gold taken from the newspaper headlines all to determine the better writer. While researching the story, Lady Alicia is captured by the thieves’ ringleader. Can Lady Alicia turn this mystery into an award-winning story? Can Justin save his real-life heroine? Can they both overcome their own challenges for a happily ever after?
Is it true:
this is your first book?
Each one I write seems like my first one.
this book is part of a series?
Lady Alicia has demanded that I write a story about each of the women who graduated from the Sommer-by-the-Sea Female Seminary. So far there is Lady Alicia, of course, and Lady Patrice, and Lady Kathryn. I hope the other aren’t shy.
you lost sleep while writing this book?
I did seem to be cursed with doubt and concern that cost me some sleep, but in the end it was just indigestion.
you did research for this book?
Hell, yes. (I bow my head in shame.)
some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)
I didn’t plan it that way, but the smuggler is way less then human!
this book has more than one genre?
The story is a historical romance that takes place in 1814, the regency era. With a kidnapping, grand theft, and treason at hand I would say this story is filled with mystery and suspense.
you speak more than one language?
Esyay!
you grew up where you live now?
No, I did not. I miss the long walks on the beach. The parachute jump and Steeplechase.
you love to read?
I cannot tell a lie. YES!!! I have so many books on my kindle that I spend a lot of time trying to pick what to read next.
you are never late?
Me, no. My husband, always.
you love pizza?
A thick crust, lots of cheese, and sometimes mushrooms. I won’t give it up. When I’m being more weight conscious, I use a portobello mushroom in place of the dough. It’s a close send.
you love sushi?
Hai… Please be impressed. That’s all the Japanese I know other than sushi and sashimi.
you have a pet?
Only a few pet peeves!

Ruth A Casie Social Media
Hi – I’m Ruth A Casie and I write historical and contemporary romance. You might be wondering what I’m about. Sit back and let me tell you.
I’m happiest when I’m telling stories either chatting in a group or writing them down. I love to put my hero and heroine in tough situations and dare them to work it out—together, always together. They haven’t disappointed. Oh, they complain but in the end their love and relationships are stronger than ever.
Here are five things you probably don’t know about me.
1. I filled my passport up in one year.
2. I have three series. The Druid Knight stories are a historical time travel series. The Stelton Legacy is historical fantasy about the seven sons of a seventh son. Havenport Romances are stories set in a small coast Rhode Island town. I also write stories in the connected world the Pirates of Britannia.
3. I did a rap to “How Many Trucks Can a Tow Truck Tow If a Tow Truck Could Tow Trucks.”
4. When I cook I dance.
5. My Sudoku book is in the bathroom. I’m not saying anything else about that.
My stories feature strong women and the men who deserve them, endearing flaws and all. Their stories will keep you turning the pages until the end. I hope my stories become your favorite adventures.
I’m a USA Today bestselling author.
