To Dance With A Lord by Gina Danna

    Genre Regency Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Gerard Jennings had done his duty for God and Country and returned to England to assume a title he had never wanted nor deserved. Sweat and blood were not all he left behind in war-torn France, he’d also left his heart with the woman he’d loved and lost. Forced into a society that no longer fits the man he’s become, the new Marquis of Linnwood drifts through a sea of debutantes to fulfill the family obligation of finding a wife. None attract his attention until he meets the one who tugs at his reluctant heart – Lady Charlotte.
A runaway pup, a damsel in distress, Lady Charlotte is rescued by Lord Linnwood only to have her reputation ripped to shreds by petty gossip. Her fiance withdraws his proposal, leaving Charlotte forever ruined. The dashing Marquis again comes to her aid by making her his wife.
Though deeply in love with her husband, Charlotte can’t bridge the distance between them and spends night after night alone. His haunted past shadows their lives and she must find a way to not only dispel his ghosts but ease his grieving heart. Will it be enough to also save his tortured soul?
What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?
My favorite down-home family style meal is pasta – in almost every form! Latest cravings lean towards tortellini with red sauce. Yum!!
    Describe the perfect vacation.
Perfect vacation – The beach! Or historical area (thinking Civil War battlefields and towns). Or Italy – which I’m finally going to this fall!!!! Childhood dream come true!!! For all 3, I want warm, sunny weather and a place to lose myself, so to speak.
Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.
My favorite toy was probably my model horses. Have a slew of Breyer horses. Made them into a herd and they got married and had babies (foals). I’m a total horse lover!!
    What are your hobbies?
Hobbies? Besides working out, I love to do living history. I’m a Civil War reenactor and have also dabbled in Early 19th century (reliving part of the Lewis & Clark Corp of Discovery 1803) and World War II. My Civil War wardrobe is a bit large, so to speak, but I love the era!
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?
I tend to research a lot. This book I just released is a Regency romance, but I also write Historical Fiction with a romance. For that, I have two series – 1 in Ancient Rome (The Gladiators series) and the other is the American Civil War. The Civil War series requires quite a bit more research, because I need it to be accurate in all of it, with a biography, which I include at the end. I tend to get lost in the research sometimes….

Why did you write this book?

This concludes the final romance in my St. Clairs’ trilogy, the first time I’ve written in the Regency Era—and I love it! Luke is the youngest St. Clair and a proverbial bad boy who’s tired of his empty life. I paired him with a strong Englishwoman who’d been stranded in America during the War of 1812. She’s taken on some independent American qualities during her years away from England that will make her quite the match for Luke!
What is your favorite genre to read?
I love reading everything, especially romance, suspense, and thrillers.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
    Miss Elizabeth Bennet is perfection!
What are you working on at the moment?
I’ve finished up the three novellas that feature new heroes and heroines in the Regency Era, while a few of the characters from my St. Clairs trilogy stop by for some of the fun. Readers will see the Earl of Merrifield making a fine match with a de Wolfe from the North, as well as two other de Wolfes finding their HEAs.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Embracing the Earl (The St. Clairs Book 3) is a June 22 release. The three novellas will follow later in 2019.

    A Hand for the Duke by Meredith Bond @merrybond #RLFblog #NewRelease #Regencyromance

A Hand for the Duke by Meredith Bond @merrybond #RLFblog #NewRelease #RegencyromanceMeredith Bond, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

A Hand for the Duke by Meredith Bond

    Genre: Regency romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
Can the Ladies of the Wagering Whist Society help an impoverished modiste win the hand of a sought-after Duke?
Tina Rowan is beautiful, talented—and wants nothing more than to be free of her past. The illegitimate daughter of a baroness, she is being blackmailed by her own foster-father. She must rely on her flair for designing dresses to earn enough to pay him off. Starting a business dressing the ladies of Regency society isn’t easy for a nobody. But Tina has three aces up her sleeve—her own amazing talent, her well-connected biological mother, and the helpful (if meddlesome) support of the Ladies’ Wagering Whist Society.
The handsome, arrogant Duke of Warwick has grown up schooled in the “proper” way for a nobleman to behave. Rule number one: do not fraternize with people of the lower classes. But when he has to introduce his beloved sister to society, he finds himself completely reliant on the beguiling woman he’s hired as his sister’s modiste. To his astonishment, he finds himself opening up to her and enjoying her company far, far too much.
When Tina discovers the true man behind the ducal title, her heart might very well be lost. But can the duke set aside his façade and allow himself to love the only woman who could possibly make him happy?
It will take the combined efforts of the Ladies’ Wagering Whist Society to see this difficult hand well played.
Why did you write this book?
This is the first book of my new traditional Regency series, The Ladies’ Wagering Whist Society. With this series, I wanted to explore character tropes.
I love characters. For me they’re the reason I read. It’s why I love the romances of Julia Quinn, Mary Jo Putney, and Tessa Dare. They all have amazing characters who just fall in love with.
The characters of the LWWS (Ladies’ Wagering Whist Society) are all based on a traditional Regency character trope. I’ve got the “forthright widow”, an athlete, the joker, the stickler, a mushroom, a high-and-mighty duchess, etc. Eight characters because it takes four people to play whist, so two tables of whist (I felt four people would be too few). Each of the characters will have their own book, plus I added a ninth book to make three trilogies.
The first book of the series is a “Cindarella” story about the illegitimate daughter of the woman who founded the LWWS, Lady Norman. Her daughter, Tina Rowan, was raised by a foster-family in a little village, and wants to be a modiste (she’s a talented dress designer and seamstress). Her mother sponsors her and helps her start on her career, never once imagining that she would catch the eye of a handsome, cold-hearted duke who hires her to dress his younger sister.
Tina manages to melt the block of ice that is this duke’s heart and begins to dare to dream the impossible – that this man could one day be hers.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Regency romance, of course! But I also read just about every genre. I love mystery, fantasy, and even sometimes literary fiction. Every so often I’ll read a biography or history because it’s just another way to learn about people and their lives.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Falconer, the hero of MaryJo Putney’s Stolen Magic, Daphne Bridgerton, heroine of The Duke and I by Julia Quinn, and whatever I’m reading at the moment!
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m just starting to write book 4 of the Ladies’ Wagering Whist Society, A Trick of Mirrors.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Next month, in May, Jack of Diamonds, Book 2 of the Ladies’ Wagering Whist Society will be released, and in June I’ll release Book 3, The Games She Played.
