Defending the Duke (The St Clairs Book 4) by Alexa Aston

    Genre: Regency romance

    Book heat level: PG-13

Can love grow between a reluctant duke and an illegitimate shop girl?

Anthony Godwin, trusted staff officer to the Duke of Wellington, returns from the Napoleonic Wars to learn both his father and brother are dead and he is the new Duke of Linfield. His anger and bitterness have grown through the years and he despises the Linfield name—because his father gave Anthony away when he was eight years old. Now he finds himself a part of the ton, with men seeking his advice and women vying to become his new duchess, all because of a title he now holds and never wanted.

Laurel Wright grew up in poverty. When her mother dies, Laurel learns she and her twin brother are the illegitimate offspring of the deceased Duke of Everton. Penniless and starving, she turns to the new Duke of Everton in desperation. Suddenly, Laurel is swept into a glittering, unfamiliar world as she is launched into the Season. Navigating her way proves daunting and when she is discovered in a compromising position with a man she’s only met, it leads to a quick marriage in which both partners agree that love will never be a part of their relationship.

Anthony never wanted a wife and is abruptly saddled with one. He tries to keep his distance from the raven-haired beauty who is now his duchess, but Laurel proves to be irresistible. Passion erupts between them and he finds himself longing for a child, though he fights growing closer to this new wife.

Will Laurel and Anthony be able to put the past behind them—and let love rule their future?

Each book in The St Clairs Trilogy is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.
    Series Order:
Book #1 Devoted to the Duke
Book #2 Midnight with the Marquess
    Book #3 Embracing the Earl
    Book #4 Defending the Duke
Book #5 Suddenly a St Clair (Coming December 3!)

Why did you write this book?

I had published my St Clairs trilogy (Devoted to the Duke, Midnight with the Marquess, and Embracing the Earl) earlier this year. Readers really took to this family and my publisher, Kathryn Le Veque, asked that I extend the series—thus, Laurel and Hudson St Clair get their own HEAs!

What is your favorite genre to read?

I read just about anything—romance, mystery, biography, cereal boxes.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

I always come back to Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m working on a medieval trilogy, Medieval Runaway Wives. It will come out Summer 2020.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I’m very excited about my new Regency trilogy coming in February, March, and April. Look for Soldiers and Soulmates then.

Thea (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 3) by Alexa Aston

    Genre: Regency romance

    Book heat level: PG13

He’s a virgin who almost died at Waterloo… and now finds himself a duke.

She’s been told that kissing is important and if she likes a man and has the opportunity… she should take it.

Lady Thea de Wolfe breaks her leg, causing her to miss her first London Season, one in which her sister, Diana, becomes the Countess of Merrifield and Thea’s best friend, Amelia, weds Thea’s brother, Lord Reston. Seeing those closest to her find love has led Thea to dare to dream of the possibility of love coming to her.

Major Adam Ashbury arrives home from war to discover his cousin recently died in a phaeton accident, making Adam the new Marquess of Trumbull. Before he can get used to having a title, his uncle dies and the former military man finds himself woefully unprepared to be the Duke of Durham. Adam can’t even dance–but he longs to find a duchess and create a new life for himself, one in which family and love play equally important roles.

A funeral first brings Adam and Thea together, followed soon by a house party, where their growing attraction finds fertile ground to blossom. Though other single women vie for new duke’s attention and Thea’s guardian is determined to keep her from kissing anyone before she makes her come-out, true love runs its natural course for the pair.

Thea is Book 3 in The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle and a part of the De Wolfe Pack Connected World. It can be read as a standalone. Only 99 cents!

*Look for Diana and Derek, the romances for Thea’s siblings, which also read as standalones.

Why did you write this book?

I had been asked to write in Kathryn Le Veque’s de Wolfe Connected World and decided to do three novellas that told the stories of three de Wolfe siblings during the Regency Era. Diana was released in July. She won the heart of Lord Oliver Merrifield, a dashing, delightful man who’d won my heart (and readers)–but he hadn’t gotten an HEA of his own. Derek released in August and was the next de Wolfe to find his soulmate. Now, it’s Thea’s turn to find a dashing duke and lasting happiness.

What is your favorite genre to read?

I enjoy reading thrillers most of all, but I recently enjoyed reading Lost Roses for my monthly book club. It focuses on the lives of three women during World War I. As a former history teacher, I gobble up anything historical!

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

A character who always continues to move me is Atticus Finch.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’ve just finished up Books 4 and 5 for my St. Clairs series. Defending the Duke releases October 8 and Suddenly a St. Clair comes out December 3. That will wrap up this Regency romance series.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

Defending the Duke and Suddenly a St. Clair are the last two novels I’m publishing in 2019; however, I have a Christmas novella featuring Luke and Caroline St. Clair in the upcoming collection Stars are Shining Brightly. It features ten Dragonblade Publishing authors and can be preordered now for 99 cents. https://amzn.to/2k00tpY

Derek (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 2) by Alexa Aston

    Genre: Regency romance

    Book heat level: PG-13

He loved her—and was blindsided when she wed another man…

He refused her—and now her life is no longer her own…

Lady Amelia Ward is ecstatic that her brother, the Earl of Merrifield, has just married for love. Amelia, who is in her first Season, now wants the same for herself. Though ton marriages rarely involve love, she has seen what a difference it’s made in Oliver’s life and she won’t settle for anything less—especially because she’s already in love with her new brother-in-law—who thinks her a featherbrain.

Derek de Wolfe, the new Earl of Reston, has seen his older sister, Diana, wed to Lord Merrifield. Now Derek’s ready to return to Northumberland because he has no plans to wed for several years, preferring to focus on changes he wishes to make at Esterley, his country estate. In truth, he’s running away from his growing attraction to Amelia, his new sister-in-law, whom he knows believes in love.

When Amelia decides to make Derek jealous, her plans backfire. She finds herself wed to a stranger who’s a known rake and her unhappiness grows when she realizes the kind of marriage they will have.

Will Amelia find a way to escape a union that should never have occurred and if she does, will Derek be waiting for her? Derek is Book 2 in The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle and a part of the De Wolfe Pack Connected World.

*Look for Diana (out now) and Thea (coming September 24), where Derek’s siblings find their own HEAs.

Why did you write this book?

I had been asked to write in Kathryn Le Veque’s de Wolfe Connected World and decided to do three novellas that told the stories of three de Wolfe siblings during the Regency Era. Diana was the first released (last month) and she won the heart of Lord Oliver Merrifield, a dashing, delightful man who’d won my heart (and readers)—but he hadn’t gotten an HEA of his own.

Derek is Diana’s brother, so this is his love story, full of some heartache but a very happy ending!

What is your favorite genre to read?

I enjoy reading thrillers most of all. I recently read The Chain—it’s terrifying—all the more so because I could see it easily happening.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Elizabeth Bennet is a constant favorite for me.

What are you working on at the moment?

My St. Clairs were meant to be a trilogy, but reader response has been so great that I am writing Books 4 & 5. These two romances will finish the series and be released this fall.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I have the last novella in this series left to go. Thea (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 3) releases September 24. While all three can be read as standalones, I think it’s fun to read all three of these novellas together. And don’t be surprised if you see a few St. Clairs pop up in this trilogy!

Can a rogue earl convince a stubborn bookseller their love is worth fighting for?
Read Book 3 in the bestselling “The St. Clairs” series for free with Kindle Unlimited!
Luke St. Clair, Earl of Mayfield, has tired of his empty, carefree life and seeks to find a spouse he can love and cherish, much as his brother and sister have done. Ridding himself of his mistress and lover, he commits to entering the upcoming Season with an open mind. Before the Season can even begin, however, Luke meets an independent beauty who does more than interest him.
After Lady Caroline Andrews loses her beloved sister, she decides she needs a change of scenery and travels to Boston to visit her aunt, only to be stranded for three years when England and America go to war. Once the peace accords are signed, Caroline returns to London. Discovering that her father has died deeply in debt, leaving his daughter nothing, Caroline uses an inheritance from her aunt to open her own bookstore and tearoom. Needing to support herself, Caroline declares she will never marry. Falling in love with Luke St. Clair wasn’t in her plans, but Luke is convinced the spirited, independent Caroline is the one for him.
Will the rogue with a heart for children persuade the stubborn bookseller that fate demands they wed?
Each book in The St. Clairs Trilogy is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.
    Series Order:
Book #1 Devoted to the Duke
Book #2 Midnight with the Marquess
    Book #3 Embracing the Earl

Why did you write this book?

This concludes the final romance in my St. Clairs’ trilogy, the first time I’ve written in the Regency Era—and I love it! Luke is the youngest St. Clair and a proverbial bad boy who’s tired of his empty life. I paired him with a strong Englishwoman who’d been stranded in America during the War of 1812. She’s taken on some independent American qualities during her years away from England that will make her quite the match for Luke!

What is your favorite genre to read?

I love reading everything, especially romance, suspense, and thrillers.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

    Miss Elizabeth Bennet is perfection!

What are you working on at the moment?

I’ve finished up the three novellas that feature new heroes and heroines in the Regency Era, while a few of the characters from my St. Clairs trilogy stop by for some of the fun. Readers will see the Earl of Merrifield making a fine match with a de Wolfe from the North, as well as two other de Wolfes finding their HEAs.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

Embracing the Earl (The St. Clairs Book 3) is a June 22 release. The three novellas will follow later in 2019.

Diana (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 1) by Alexa Aston

    Genre: Regency romance
    Book heat level: PG-13
A woman whose reputation was destroyed. A powerful earl who longs for children. Can they ignore the raging gossip and find happiness together?
Lady Diana de Wolfe’s curiosity about kissing led to her ruin before she ever made her come-out in London. Banished from her home by a furious, disappointed father, Diana gives birth out of wedlock to twins and supports her family without help until her parents’ death. Her brother, the new Earl of Reston, welcomes her back into the family fold and takes Diana to London, hoping she can make a match—and demanding she keep silent about her children until she’s landed a husband.
Oliver Ward, Earl of Merrifield, raised his siblings after his father’s tragic death and his mother’s subsequent madness. With his brother at university and his sister making her come-out, Oliver is ready to find a wife and start a family of his own. His good friend, Lady Merrick, whom he almost wed, promises to help him find the right woman.
Meeting shortly before the London Season begins, Oliver is drawn to Diana’s spirit and beauty. Her attraction for him only grows when he learns about her precocious twins and he is determined to make her his.
Will the rumors regarding Diana’s past mistakes doom this couple in society’s eyes—or can love overcome gossip and save them both?
Diana occurs after the events written about in Alexa Aston’s bestselling St. Clairs Trilogy—Devoted to the Duke; Midnight with the Marquess; and Embraced by the Earl—and is a part of the De Wolfe Pack Connected World.
*Look for Derek August 24 and Thea September 28, where Diana’s siblings find their own HEAs.
Why did you write this book?
I had created a lovely, wonderful man named Lord Merrifield in Midnight with the Marquess. He also appeared in Embracing the Earl. I hated that Merrifield was this terrific man who hadn’t gotten his own HEA—so I came up with Diana de Wolfe for him!
What is your favorite genre to read?
I enjoy reading thrillers most of all. Just finished The New Girl by Daniel Silva and highly recommend it!
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I usually say Elizabeth Bennet but today I’m going with Gabriel Allon.
What are you working on at the moment?
My St. Clairs were meant to be a trilogy, but reader response has been so great that I am writing Books 4 & 5. They will finish up the series and come out this fall.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I have two novellas releasing soon. Derek (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 2) and Thea (The de Wolfes of Esterley Castle Book 3) come out August 24 and September 28, respectively. While they can be read as standalones, I think it’s fun to read all three of these novellas together. And don’t be surprised if you see a few St. Clairs pop up in this trilogy!
