Meet Sir Talon Quereste from The Herald’s Heart #MedievalRomance @RueAllyn #RLFblog

Meet Sir Talon Quereste from The Herald’s Heart.

    Author Bio

Historical romance author Rue Allyn lives in southeast Michigan with the love of her life and one tyrannical cat, where she works daily on making Happy Ever After come true.

    About the Book

    Title The Herald’s Heart
    Genre Medieval Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings G, PG, PG13, R): R
Royal herald, Sir Talon Quereste could never love an overly adventurous, impulsive, argumentative woman of dubious background who threatens everything he values. Lady Larkin Roshan can only despise a man who would deny her identity and steal her heritage. So why has fate thrown them together to solve the mysteries of the heart?

    Introducing Sir Talon Quereste

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
    Name: Sir Talon Querest
    Age:  Twenty six
    Gender:  Male
Birthplace:  Hawksedge Keep, on the coast of Northumbria near the Scottish border
    Profession:  Royal Herald
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human):
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars. I have, according to most women, guinea gold hair and pansy purple eyes. (Snickers) As if any knight would admit to something so effeminate as eyes the color of pansies. My chin is square and my mouth firm-lipped. I’m proud that there’s nothing weak about me, physically or otherwise. I consider myself taller than the average man. Some say I’m too tall. I work hard, so my shoulders are broad, my hips lean, and my legs strong enough to sit a horse from sun up to well past sundown. I’m outside a great deal of the time, so I’m definitely not fair skinned. Is there anything else you’d like to know.
Who is the significant other in your life?
No one until I met Lady Larkin Rosham. She’s overly adventurous, impulsive, argumentative and not at all the sort of woman I imagined I would love.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a complicated man. My origins are not as straightforward as I always believed them to be, but Larkin helped me accept the truth. I get great satisfaction from solving puzzles, as most heralds do, Our service to the king requires that we be able to easily discern truth from lie and make decisions that may affect noble families and the kingdom for years, perhaps centuries, to come.
If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?
Smoke, definitely smoke. My voice is deep as a man’s ought to be. However, I often spend weeks in the saddle alone so I’ve developed a very soft rasp.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
My service to the king allows me to indulge in pleasures and comforts whenever I have time. Sadly that is not as often as I would like. I have hopes that the king will reward me with a significant holding for the singular service I provided him recently
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
That I might not be as good and honorable as I believe myself to be. My father unjustly repudiated me when I was six just after my mother died. Despite the fact that I have little respect or liking for the man, his rejection has always been the source of self-doubt. I have learned to thank him, because his repudiation spurred me to excel. I might not be quite the same man I am today had it not been for his unjust actions.
    What is your breaking point?
Larkin nearly died once. I bargained with God for her life and caused us no end of trouble as a result.
What would you like to tell your writer?
You should have made Larkin more cooperative, less stubborn, and less impulsive. Honestly what were you thinking to have her as the love of my life?

    About the Author

I write medieval romance novels full of passion and intrigue set in 11th and 12th century Ireland, Scotland, and England.
Although all my works are fiction, I often like to incorporate authentic places, events, and people to increase the reader’s enjoyment. One of the more valuable lessons I have learned as a writer is the importance of using real history with the flair of artistic license. Marked by Honor a new #medievalromance by @LaurenLinwood #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

    About the Author

Lauren Linwood’s historical romances use history as a backdrop to place her characters in extraordinary circumstances, where their intense desire for one another grows into the treasured gift of love. Her romantic suspense novels feature strong heroes and heroines who unite to defeat a clever antagonist and discover a deep, abiding love during their journey.
A native Texan, Lauren is an avid reader, moviegoer, and sports fan who manages stress by alternating yoga with long walks. She plans to start a support group for Fixer Upper addicts—as soon as she finishes her next piece of dark chocolate.

    Interview with Lauren Linwood

Why did you write this book?
I’ve always been fascinated by the medieval era and have written three standalone medieval romances. I decided I wanted to go bigger, so I created The Knights of Valor. Word of Honor was the first book in this series, and now Marked by Honor is the second. I introduced Raynor Le Roux in Book 1 and left him with a broken heart. Now in Book 2, he gets his HEA with Beatrice Bordel.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Besides romance, I am wild for thrillers. Steve Berry and Brad Meltzer are two authors I enjoy reading because they weave in historical details that become an integral part of the plot.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I adore Pride and Prejudice’s Elizabeth Bennet. She is feisty, intelligent, and has a good heart.
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I’m deep into my Knights of Valor series. Code of Honor is Book 3, and it will come out October 5. I’ve just finished writing Journey to Honor, Book 4 in the series. It will release early in 2017. Two more books will finish out the series next year. I just need to get them written!
Please tell us about your latest book.
Lady Beatrice Bordel blames herself for the riding accident that cost her father his life when she was a child. Tragedy strikes again when her mother and grandfather die on the same day, leaving her homeless. The young woman decides to travel to visit her grandfather’s closest friend, hoping she can use her domestic skills and lute-playing talent to find a permanent place in his household. Barely into her journey, a band of highwaymen accosts Beatrice and her sole servant. All seems lost—until Raynor Le Roux arrives.
As a knight of the realm, the code of chivalry guides Raynor’s life. While returning to his family’s home after many months absence, he rescues Beatrice, who tells a white lie to this handsome stranger. Raynor takes her to safety at Ashcroft, but his home has changed during his time away. No longer a thriving estate, Ashcroft has fallen into disrepair because his brother Peter is no longer interested in its welfare after his wife’s untimely death. Raynor determines to restore his home before he escorts Beatrice north so she may unite with the man he believes is her betrothed.
The couple’s growing attraction turns to love, but Beatrice’s dishonesty stands between her and Raynor’s happiness. Will she finally tell him the truth—and hope he forgives her deception—or will it be too late?

    About the Author

Author of historical, contemporary and erotic romances, I fell in love with happily ever after the day I heard my first story. (Yes, I was a precocious little brat who read at the age of two, but I could hear much earlier than that.) I studied literature for far too many years before discovering that writing stories was much more fun than analyzing them. Heck, as an author, I get to read the story before anyone else. I am happily married to my sweetheart of many, many years. My husband and I share the home of  two cats, who condescend to allow me to feed them and clean their litter box. (The cats only tolerate my husband’s assistance when I am not available.)They occasionally permit me to pet them but demand my love and attention as their right. (Funny, my husband demands the same. Could I be married to my cats? Does that make me a trigamist?) Regardless of my specific relationship status with our cats, I am in awe of their feline ability to dominate with half a glance or a mere twitch of tail. Insatiably curious, an avid reader and traveler, I love to hear from readers about your favorite books and real life adventures. Crazy Cat stories are especially welcome. You can send me your words of wisdom . . . Don’t shake your head at me; all words are wise in one context or another. You can trust me on this; I’m an author. As I was saying, you can send your words of wisdom, humor, and friendship to me at contact@RueAllyn.com. Can’t wait to hear from you.

    Word of Honor a new #medievalromance by @LaurenLinwood #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    Interview with Lauren Linwood

    Why did you write
    this book?
I have always enjoyed reading books in a series, but I had
never written a series of my own. I decided after nine standalone romances that
creating a series would be my next creative challenge. It’s a lot to keep up
with, but I am finding the process truly satisfying.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
I enjoy thrillers that have some type of historical
connection. Steve Berry and Brad Meltzer do a fabulous job of weaving history
into action-packed stories that keep a reader guessing till the very end.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
I’m a true Pride and Prejudice fan, so Elizabeth Bennet is
my favorite heroine, as she is for many readers and writers of romance. Lizzy
is intelligent, compassionate, loyal, witty, charming, and feisty–everything I
    love in a heroine.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
My Knights of Valor series is claiming all my attention
these days! Every book will have a connection to Word of Honor’s hero, Geoffrey
de Montfort. Geoffrey’s best friend (and cousin) is the focus of Marked by
Honor, releasing in July, and his niece is featured in Code of Honor, coming in
October. Three more books from this medieval historical romance series will be
released in 2017 that will be the stories of Geoffrey’s other niece and two of
    his children.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
Merryn Mantel and Geoffrey de Montfort have loved each other
since childhood. Once betrothed, Geoffrey leaves for the wars in France for
five long years. Upon his return, the two marry and spend one blissful night
consummating their love and making plans for their future.
But her new husband vanishes the next day without a trace.
Merryn grieves for almost seven years–and then Geoffrey returns to her–changed
from the boy and man she knew and worshipped. This stranger refuses to reveal
where he has been and why he stayed away for so long.
Will her husband’s silence create a rift too large to heal,
or can Merryn and Geoffrey recapture the love they once shared?
