    Interview with Shane

What is it that you want,
but cannot have? Authors call this the conflict of the story.
My brother. He’s been kidnapped. Adrian is the only family I have left and I’ll
do anything to get him back.
    What’s your internal limitation?
Meaning, what is it about you that makes it so you cannot do what it is you need
    to do during this story?
This situation is crazy, but that’s not surprising. Adrian and
I have had an unusual life. We come from a family of vampire hunters. To free him,
I need to seduce a vampire. That’s not really a problem. I’ve lured them before
so that I can destroy them, but I’ve never met a vampire quite like Detective Bryce
Tarunson. Before I met Bryce, all I cared about was getting Adrian back, no matter what.
    What inner doubt causes
    you the most difficulty?
For the first time in my life, I have feelings other than hatred
for a vampire. I never thought a vampire could be like Bryce. He tells me he’s one
of the good guys, but that goes against everything I know about vampires. He hasn’t
given me a reason not to trust him, though, and he has gone out of his way to help
    me get Adrian back.
    Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
It’s so difficult. That person is Bryce. We should be enemies,
but from the moment we met I wanted him. He has strength and integrity. Even though
he’s a vampire, I want to trust him. I know I can trust him. Yeah, the sex is great,
but there’s a lot more between us than that.
    What is your family like?
    Adrian
is the only blood family I have left. Our grandparents and our parents were killed
by vampires. After they died, we went to live with our uncle, but he was killed
in the same way. Adrian and I were home schooled, mostly because a big part of our
education was the history of vampires and how to kill them.
    What special skills do
    you rely on?
I rely on everything I’ve been taught about how to track and
destroy vampires. I also have a special skill of my own. It’s more a gift than a
skill. I’m immune to mind control, so vampires can’t manipulate me in that way.
    Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
I’m with Bryce. He didn’t betray me, but there are still lose
    ends regarding Adrian.
The last thing I expected was to fall in love. Bryce owns a piece of my heart now
and I’m fine with it. Better than fine. I only wish things had been different for
    Adrian and for Bryce’s
friends too. They tried to help us, and they’ve paid the price for it. Bittersweet
is how I’d describe the end of my story.
    Cloak and Dagger

About You: Questions for the writer.

    When you wrote about this
character, what made you the most happy? What made you the most sad?
I was happy to see Shane learn to trust Bryce and fall in love.
They both have had their share of pain, that’s for sure. Everything they went through
in the past made me sad. They lost a lot, but together they’ve found some peace.
What do you want to write
    next?
Right now I’m working on an erotic fantasy romance set in the
same world as my Knights of the Ruby Order series. The hero and heroine are driving
each other crazy in every possible way, so it’s been a lot of fun to write so far.
    What other character from
this book do you want to write about? Care to tell us why?
When I ended this story, I had plans to give Adrian one of his own. He falls
in love with his captor. Tarun has been the villain of the entire series, but in
Fangs and Floggers, he gets to tell his side of the story.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
Thank you so much for reading my stories! I hope you enjoy the
Weapons of Redemption series. I truly loved writing about these guys.

    About the Character

    Name: Dev Avira
    Age: 29
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Boston
    Profession: Pairs figure skater
Ethnicity/Species (if not human): South Asian
Describe his/her body build, skin tone, height and weight. Include
any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars: Around 5’10, 190 lbs. Lean
and muscular. Dark skin and curly black hair. (He looks quite a bit like actor Sendhil
    Ramamurthy.)
    Who is the significant
    other in your character’s life?
When the story begins, it’s Dev’s platonic figure skating partner
Bailey. But then he falls hard for his Russian rival.
    How does your hero dress?
Dev spends most of his time in spandex and body-hugging figure
skating costumes. Off the ice he’s usually in jeans and T-shirts.
    How educated is this character?
Is he book smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
Much to his parents’ initial disappointment, Dev did not go to
university. Instead he chose to focus on his figure skating career. He is intelligent,
but athletics are where his passion lies.
    Does he scrape by, live
    comfortably, live extravagantly?
Dev does okay with prize money and the odd endorsement. Figure
skating is an expensive sport, so he doesn’t live extravagantly.
    What special skills does
    your character rely on?
Definitely his figure skating skills! He’s worked his entire
life to become the best pairs skater he can be, and finally has the chance to win
    gold at the Olympic Games.
    What is your character’s
    family like?
Dev is an only child. His parents are originally from Kerala
    in the south of India,
and he has a big extended family of aunties and uncles. His mother, who he calls
Ma with frequent exasperation, is brash and opinionated — but very loving and supportive.
Dev’s father, a doctor, is the yang to his wife’s yin. Dev is close with his family,
but spends most of his time away from them due to training and traveling for competitions.
    Does he have children?
Not yet. As an elite athlete working toward the Olympics, children
haven’t really crossed his mind yet. But perhaps in the future!
Can your hero keep a secret?
If not, why not? If yes, why?
Dev can definitely keep a secret, and he keeps a very big one
from the people around him after he hooks up with his chief skating rival in the
    locker room!
    What is your character’s
biggest need at the beginning of the story?
To win gold at the Olympics. But he realizes along the way that
winning may not be the most important thing.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Because she is obsessed with figure skating! Keira lives and
breathes the sport every season, not just every four years.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
The details of my sex life with Misha get pretty explicit! She
made me blush a few times.
    What do you wish your
    writer would write next?
I want her to write about what happens to me and Misha after
the Olympics when we try to settle into real life together.
    What other character from
your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?
I think my skating partner Bailey deserves to find her Mr. Right,
although Keira only writes m/m at the moment. But Bailey is my best friend in the
world and I want her to find true love.

    Author Bio

After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration,
Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes
contemporary, historical, fantasy and paranormal fiction, and–although she loves
delicious angst along the way–Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar
Wilde once said, “The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what
    Fiction means.”

GA Hauser Author of Snapped @AuthorGAHauser #RLFblog #LGBT

    About the Book

    Thirty-nine year old, Bryce Hayes
thought when he left the military and joined the Seattle Police Department, there
would be nothing he couldn’t handle. He’d seen it all; the worst of what mankind
    could do to each other.
But the Seven Deadly Sins had yet
to rear their ugly head. Lust, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony. And Bryce
was about to encounter them all embodied in one man.
What Bryce witnessed on his first
phase as a student with Field Training Officer Kohl Abbott, he found inconceivable
corruption. As a thirty-nine year old ‘rookie’ paired with the senior officer from
hell, Bryce had no idea when he was told to ‘stay put’ in the patrol car, that his
training instructor Abbott was breaking fingers and kneecaps for protection money
    from the small local businesses.
While in the Special Forces, Bryce
was taught to shut up, to not reveal information. But this time? When the net came
down on the corruption he was caught in the snare. Bryce was tossed out of the department
with the garbage, but was not prosecuted. He never knew why not.
    Twenty-eight year old Joel Vandergrift
lived up on Capitol Hill in Seattle,
worked as a photographer and taught literature classes at night. But, his real love
was writing. Having his first few novels hit the bestseller lists, Joel was gaining
recognition and finally thought earning a living as a writer was a possibility…
until his apartment is broken into, and his computer with all his work on it, is
    stolen.
A day later, Joel sees his latest
bestseller being sold, but under someone else’s name.
The irony of just having met a bartender
named Bryce Hayes, whose behavior was suspicious to Joel, made Joel believe Bryce
had a hand in the treachery.
    But Bryce knew the reality.
Kohl Abbott was writing under an assumed
name, his first best seller documenting his ‘life of crime’. Even though Abbott
had served time in the county lockup for his deeds, he had been released early.
Abbott knew dirt on many men, including cops and councilmen…including Bryce.
What at first had been an ultimatum
for Bryce from Abbott to find something nasty to discredit Joel as a top writer,
had changed. Secrets, lies, and disastrous decisions that were impossible to take
back, push Joel and Bryce together- as lovers, then as reluctant enemies. And it
isn’t until one man finally has had enough that fate takes over.
    SNAPPED!
Lust, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Pride, Wrath,
Gluttony- The ‘Infamous 7’ change one man from a cynic into a killer. And Bryce
sees first hand, how war is not only fought on the battlefield, it is also drawn
    from the mighty pen.

    Interview with GA Hauser

    Why did you write this
    book?
This book was inspired by the corruption in all aspects of life,
and the fact that there can always be good lifted up from the ashes.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
It used to be gay erotic romance, but I no longer have time to
    pleasure read.
    What is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own characters)?
I don’t have a favorite character from fiction.
    Do you enjoy films and/or
TV shows? Which are your favorites?
I do enjoy some TV, and don’t go to see many movies. But I don’t
have any ‘favorites’ at the moment.
    What are you working on
at the moment, and what are we likely to see from you in the coming months?
