Interview with Berengaria Brown

Why did you write this book?
I was at my local swimming pool one day, and saw a group of lifeguards
doing their training. I looked at them with their luscious bare chests and manly
muscles and thought to myself, what if…

Anything. Everything from sweet to kinky.
What is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own characters)?
James Bond.
Do you enjoy films and/or TV shows? Which are your favorites?
I love action movies with a lot of special effects, car chases,
explosions, and drama.
What are you working on at the moment, and what are we likely to see from you in the coming months?
I’d like to write another book in “The Wolf Masters”
series. That world grabs me.
Please tell us about your

Stately Pleasures
Although I don’t remember where the actual idea for Stately Pleasures
came from, as it’s was in my head for so long before I wrote it, I can definitely
tell you where my inspirations came from. Inspirations for setting and characters,
that is.
The setting, Davenport Manor, is a totally fictional place made
up of various real places I’ve been to and ones I imagined. It’s like a patchwork
quilt, or something. A facade from here, a maze from there, a schoolroom from X,
servants’ quarters from Y, a library from Z… you get the idea. It all pieced together
nicely in my mind to make up a very rich and exciting place for my characters to
play. I loved writing about the setting just as much as what was actually happening
As for character inspirations, well, that’s easy. Imagine Jeremy
Renner with a posh British accent and you have Jeremy Davenport. Imagine Jared Padalecki,
also with a posh British accent, and you have Ethan Hayes. Told you it was easy
Alice Brown is much more difficult. She’s a curvy chick, and
I looked around and couldn’t find a Rubenesque celebrity I wanted to base her on.
Sadly, there are also far too few Rubenesque celebrities around! So Alice is a total figment of
my imagination, but if I got asked to select someone for casting in a film, I’d
choose Melissa McCarthy.
Follow the blog tour to find out more about my how I researched
the book and much more:

Alice Brown has just landed her dream job. Property manager at
Davenport Manor, a British stately home. It’s only a nine-month contract to cover
maternity leave, but it’s the boost up the career ladder she so desperately needs.
Unfortunately, things don’t get off to the best start, when Alice finds her boss, Jeremy
Davenport, in a compromising position. Far from being embarrassed by what’s happened,
Jeremy turns things around on Alice
and makes her out to be the one in the wrong. So when he and his best friend and
head of security, Ethan Hayes, then throw an ultimatum at her, she’s so stunned
and confused that she goes along with their indecent proposal.
When the dust settles and Alice has time to think about things, though,
she realises that perhaps it isn’t such a bad thing. There are worse things she
could be doing to advance her career, after all.

Master Marshal
Gray Dixon, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. Let’s talk about
your book, Master Marshal (Book 4, Masters of Tabu Series).
Genre: Erotica, Contemporary
Publisher: Secret Cravings Publishing
Cover artist: Dawné Dominique
Length: 220 pages
Heat rating: 5 Flames, Scorching
Tagline: A cowboy and a supermodel ignite unbridled passion in
the Texas heat.
Shane Marshal struggles to keep his family’s cattle ranch above
financial flood waters. With help from friends, he turns the homestead into a BDSM
retreat. He can’t keep his mind on business when a single woman from New York with legs to infinity
arrives. To tamp down his lustful thoughts, he goes out of his way to give her grief,
but she doesn’t flinch. He needs a new strategy.
Valentina Halston, a high fashion model, changed her name from
Sharon Berger to hide her past. After finding her boyfriend in delicato with another model, she books
a vacation at a dude ranch with BDSM activities in search of change. Rest and relaxation,
fresh air, no phones, no paparazzi, and no cheating boyfriend sounded perfect. Instead,
she finds more than she could imagine.
What are your main characters’ names, ages, and occupations?
Shane Marshal, a thirty-four year old cattle rancher and co-owner
of Club Tabu with his college buddies.
Sharon Berger aka Valentina Halston, is a twenty-five year sold
model, living in New York City on vacation at a dude
ranch in Texas.

How did you get your start in the industry?
Pitched an idea to my publisher and signed. Then I had to write
What is the most important thing you do for your career now,
as compared to when you first started writing?
I’m working more at networking and concentrating my efforts instead
of trying to do it all. I need time to write!
What websites do you visit daily?
I visit first all my chat groups and check emails and then Facebook,
Twitter and Goodreads. I will check my blog about every other day. Then I will go
back and check out blogs by those I like to frequent like favorite genre authors
and do research on current WIP. I Google a lot!
If you could change something about your first book, what
would it be?
I’d make it longer. I started this series to be only around 35K
words and then decided to make them longer. Trying to add to something short isn’t
easy. Master Marshal, the fourth book in the series, is at 84K compared to Master
Knight at 53K.
What do you enjoy most about writing?
Escaping to another world that I’m constantly building. The creative
process is rewarding.
If you could give the younger version of yourself advice what
would it be?
Start writing sooner and don’t wait until I retired.
Which of your books would you recommend to someone who doesn’t
normally read your genre, and why?
The second book, Master Prince. I really enjoyed writing the
characters and their story. I hated to end it. All the reviews that have come in
certainly agree with being enjoyable which helps validate my writing their story.
What do you think is the future of traditional publishing?
I wish I knew. All I can do is keep writing and hope I can keep
getting them published.
What was the proudest moment of your life so far?
My marriage (no one in my family thought I’d ever marry) and
the birth of my daughter (also because no one in my family ever thought I wanted
children) and my granddaughter being born (because I was there helping my daughter
during labor and delivery).
Imagine you get to go on a dream vacation, but you have only
one hour to pack and leave, and it starts as soon as you finish this interview.
What will you take with you and where will you go?
An empty suitcase with my passport, credit card and go to the
Greek Isles. Can always buy clothes and essentials on the other end.
What good book have you read recently?
James Rollins’ Bloodline.
Really, really liked it. First one I’ve read anything from him.
Where were you at midnight, on December 31st when the new
century started?
Watching Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve on television. I don’t go out
that late at night.
What do you like to do when you’re bored?
I rarely get bored and if I do I just do something different.
If you were a color, what color would you be?
Tough one. I like lots of colors and my house looks like it too.
Red, Black, Purple, Yellow (Gold), Pink (all shades), and blue/green. Applied the
principles of Feng Shui when designed house and decorated. Maybe ask what color
I don’t like would be better.
What do you wish I had asked you? Please ask and answer it
What got you interested
in BDSM?
I got more and more riveted reading and something inside me felt comfortable
exploring it. Tthe biggest change was attending Dr. Charley Ferrer’s BDSM for Writers
Workshop in New York City
August 2013. Part of the curriculum was two visits to Paddles,
the longest running dungeon in NYC. What an eye opener those visits were! Next year
on August 21-24, 2014, there will be a full-blown conference with dozens of speakers
and three days of workshops, including those by practitioners of the lifestyle.
Anyone interested in learning more about BDSM, whether writing it or wanting to
experience it or just being informed, go to
to read more about this fantastic conference and tell them I sent you. I’ll be a
featured author too and will have books for signing. Joey Hill will be the Keynote
Speaker as well as other well-known authors. You won’t want to miss it. You can
also go to my blog, see the information and link on the icon at the bottom!
Please underline which statement is more like you:
“I am a vacation spa because I am laid back and relaxed.”
“I am a ten-countries in ten-days tour vacation, because
I do things as fast as possible.”

Please complete the sentences

I love pizza with pepperoni.
I’m always ready for a good laugh.
When I’m alone, I think about my next story to write.
You’d never be able to tell, but I used to work in a factory.
If I had a halo it would be pink.
If I could rule the world I’d stop strife, hunger and
war. Did I sound like a beauty pageant participant?
I can never rule the world because no one would take
me seriously

The Retreat
Kay Jaybee, welcome back to Romance Lives
Forever. Please tell us about your new book.
I’m delighted to be visiting the Romance Lives Forever site once
again. Today, I’d like to tell you a little about the release of second installment
of The Perfect Submissive Trilogy – The Retreat.

Just as Jess is beginning to relax into her new life as a submissive
at The Fables Hotel, her employer Mrs Peters announces that she is loaning both
Jess, and her dominatrix Miss Sarah, to one of their most demanding clients; Mr
David Proctor.
Whisked away by the mysterious Kane to The Retreat, hidden in
a remote part of Scotland,
Jess and Miss Sarah find themselves teaching another submissive to meet Proctor’s
exacting rules.
As Jess comes to terms with the techniques of The Retreat Mistress,
and the strictly overpowering dominatrix Lady Tia, she discovers that Proctor’s
motives may not be all they seem.
Just who or what is Fairtasia? And why does Jess feel like she’s
walked into a warped fairy tale?
In order to get back to The Fables, Jess is going to have to
be more than just a perfect submissive…
When I was asked to turn my standalone novel, The Perfect Submissive
into a trilogy, I was very excited–but I also wanted to find out which elements
of that first novel that my readers had most enjoyed, so that I could capture some
of its flavour in the sequel.
One of the features of the first part of the trilogy that people
most enjoyed was the extreme exercise routine the dominatrix Miss Sarah enforced
upon Jess. Although The Retreat sends Jess on a very different adventure- complete
with a mystery, fairy tales, and a whiff of paranoia. I was determined to include
a little exercise along the way.

Loving Leonardo
Loving Leonardo – The Quest

Rose Anderson, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. We’re excited to interview
your character, Nicolas Halstead from the book, Loving Leonardo – The Quest

Genre: Erotic Romance/Historical m/m/f
Publisher: Calliope’s Writing Tablet
Cover artist: Kim Van Meter
Length: Approximately 200 pages
Heat rating: R
Tagline: Love transcends all barriers.
Never in his wildest imaginings as an art historian, could Nicolas Halstead conceive the book Leonardo
da Vinci created for his lover Salai existed, let alone lead to the discovery of hidden declarations of love worked into da Vinci masterpieces.
Happy and content in their polyamorous relationship, Nicolas, Ellie and Luca embark on a quest to learn all they can about the greatest mind of
the Renaissance. But their world takes a devastating and deadly turn that sends Nicolas into the deviant underworld of Victorian London. It becomes clear that Conte Acario Bruno lives, and the madman wants far more than Leonardo’s book. He desires Nicolas’ death, and Luca for himself.
What are your main characters’ names, ages, and occupations?
Nicolas Halstead 11th Earl of Halstead: 31 years old. House of Lords, Art Historian for the famed Ashmolean
Museum. He acquires and manages her Majesty’s art collections.
Elenora Schwaab Halstead: 24 years old. The new Lady Halstead. Student of philosophy, Suffragette, and American Progressive. Daughter of the American Consul to her Majesty Queen Victoria.
Luca Franco: 32 years old. The new Professor of Antiquities at the Ashmolean Museum. Son of a Venetian merchant. Head of the Franco family. He acquires items of history to add to the vast museum collections.

Interview with Nicolas Halstead

Tell us about yourself.
Nicolas seated himself
and crossed his legs comfortably before him. “Well, let me see…My name is Nicolas
Halstead, 11th Earl of Halstead.
I’ve assumed my deceased father’s seat in House of Lords. Though my travels puts
me hardly ever there. As a young man I was educated at Eaton, and then finished
my art history education at Oxford.
From there I did my internship at the Ashmolean, where I recently became a fellow.
It falls to me to add to her Majesty’s collections of state, and to do so, I acquire
artworks from private holdings and collections.
I’m an exceedingly private
person. To maintain that desired privacy, I live in London, away from the family estate. Mrs. Fletcher,
my housekeeper, looks after me and has since the accident that killed my parents.
My grandmother, Lady Augusta Halstead did me immeasurable kindness when she gave
me over to her trusted servant’s care all those years ago. She has no idea of the
bond between Mrs. Fletcher and me, or what we truly share. You see, my Grandmother
comes from a time of little deviation from the path society placed before you. The
old dear would come undone in knowing the truth of me.”
Nicolas’ lips twitch.
“Until recently, I lived a quiet, somewhat content, life.”
Tell us about Ellie and Luca.
The twitch transformed into a wide smile. “I’ll assume by the question, you
are aware of my nature. Therefore, to phrase it simply, we three are lovers and
I love them. It’s trite to say,
but we complete one another in ways we hardly realized were incomplete. Through them, I’ve discovered and accepted myself.
Were I to describe my new wife, I’d say she’s unlike anyone, male or female,
of my acquaintance. Bold as brass in speaking plainly…in attitude and affections
as well. She’s a suffragette, a progressive in the truest sense. If any woman deserved
the vote it would be she. Her mind is extraordinary, her heart fiercely loving and
protective. She’s American, you know. In general, Americans reminded me of impressionist artists.
The Impressionists violated the rules of academic painting, and Americans violate
the rules of conventionality. As a student of nuance, I very much like her. That
on top of the love I feel. I consider Ellie
to be a true partner in life and love.
Luca? He and I are cut
from the same cloth in our interests and we share compatible views. I see Luca as
one of the world’s purest souls. He’s kind and sensitive, loving and thoughtful.
And I’ll add to that — he’s compassionate and self-sacrificing to a fault. Luca
is also bold and brave, far braver than I. He’s been through a lot in the last ten
years. Were I able, I’d take the heartache onto myself to free him of it. I know
he would do the same for me. He’s a man anyone would be proud to know, let alone

What do you think is your strongest point?

“Modesty?” He laughed.
“How does one consider their strongest attributes without sounding conceited? Let’s
see…I’m a loyal friend and devoted to those I love. I have empathy. Consequently,
the unfortunate and hungry souls in Rome
laid me quite low when we were there. Admitting to that, I’d have to add that I’m
more than soft-hearted, I’m painfully aware. I suppose that is my strongest and
weakest attribute — my attention to detail. I simply do not possess a blind eye.
Given my training and interest in the artworks of the ages, I readily grasp nuance.
I see the subtle shading of life in those small details often missed by others.
It allows me to read situations quickly. Not a bad skill for a man with a deviate’s
proclivity in an intolerant world!”As a child, who was your best friend? Tell us
about him/her.
“When I was a lad of
twelve or so, Mrs. Fletcher’s orphaned nephew Thomas came to Halstead. He was a
few years older than I and possessing a ready talent with horses, took a position
working in the stables. I got to spend time with him when my Grandmother was out
and about. I found him witty and fun and although our stations in life divided us,
we enjoyed one another’s company. I went away to school and we stayed in touch through
letters. When I returned home, I went to the stable to find my friend, and instead
found him with his lover, the farrier’s son. Thom and I became lovers shortly after.
Our relationship changed. And so had I.”What do you wish was different about your life?“I was born to a world
divided by class structure and limitations. My mind sees the outward trappings of
this divide daily, especially at Halstead. But my relationships with Mrs. Fletcher
and her nephew Thomas transcend such boundaries. They mean the world to me, and
my heart rebels at the very idea that I must keep my love for them a secret. I love Luca as well. It wasn’t all that long
ago, loving him would cost us our lives. There’s no longer a death penalty for homosexual
Englishmen, but we are still not free to love. I wish I was able to openly
show my affections.”If you were given your
fondest wish, what would it be?“I’d wish to turn back
the clock to see my dear Thom living a full and happy life. We’d been together nearly
thirteen years before I married Ellie. It was he who ended our relationship out
of respect for her. I miss him.”What do you wish I had asked you? Please ask
and answer it now.
“I would have asked,
Will we ever live in a tolerant world? My answer would be,
yes. It’s 1887. Look how far we’ve come. Women will be voting side by side with
men shortly, and are soon to be equal in every way. Especially if my wife has her
say! With such social progress broadening our understanding of ourselves, I can’t
imagine it taking long for prejudice, bigotry, and hatred to fall by the wayside.
Love and kindness, tolerance and charity – these are precepts of faith around the
world. But we don’t need our faith to tell us this is best. Like water, mankind
eventually follows the path of least resistance. I have every confidence that before
long, we’ll do what makes sense.”About the AuthorI love words and choose them as carefully as an artist might
choose a color. My active imagination compels me to write everything from children’s
stories to historical nonfiction. As a persnickety leisure reader, I especially
enjoy novels that feel like they were written just for me. It’s hard to explain,
but if you’ve ever read one of those, then you know what I mean. I tend to sneak
symbolism and metaphor into my writing. You might say it’s a game I play with myself
when I write. And I so love when readers email to say they’ve found something. I’d
like people to feel my stories were written just for them, for that’s the truth.
These hidden insights are my gift to my readers.  Find Me HereMain Blog: Blog: books on Amazon:
